Do you know how the heck inducks works? Is it possible to read full comics on the site or is it just a reference database for what comics are in what magazines?
Inducks is one of the most fantastically amazing sites I have ever had the pleasure of using. The comics themselves are NOT found on inducks, it is a reference database for what comics are in what magazines. However, it is remarkably thorough and it’s filtering options are fantastic.
This gets pretty long, so I’m putting it under a read more. Hope it helps!
-Mod Bulb
If you’re looking for comics to read through inducks, make sure you use the advanced search option. Under “story was reprinted in” make sure to only check countries with languages you know/would like to know. I’d recommend at LEAST filling in the character boxes after that or else you will be swamped with far too many options (if you’re doing major characters, put two or three and you’ll see stories with all of them). At some point you should try messing around with all the other filtering options since they are amazing.
At this point you come up with a long list of things and you’re probably wondering “what are all of these? what’s with all the different colors??” At the very top you’ll see that only the light blue-ish grey colored objects are stories. You can see what the rest are from the top as well. Covers and gags usually have the entire scan right there on inducks (albeit rather small). Go ahead and give them a look if you’re looking for something short and sweet.
Now you’re probably wondering “well that’s just fantastic what am I supposed to do with all these stories? I can’t read them on inducks!” Well before you get TOO excited, be aware that these are not always easy to find pirated. Don’t get too attached to wanting to read any specific comic you find on inducks.
If the comic has a US publication, you can almost always use readcomiconline and find the comic quickly and easily without having to download a thing. Simply look up the issue number and title it’s published under and it’ll show up on readcomiconline (you may have to add more info like publication company and year to get it since we have had multiple runs of Donald Duck and such). If it does NOT, this is where you may need a cbr reader and a torrenter (I’ll get to how to get those in a bit). Essentially, do as follows:
First, search the title of the comic in the language/languages you know followed by pdf.
If you fail to find anything, repeat the search with cbr instead (these steps are interchangeable really).
If you continue to fail to find the story, search for the entire magazine/issue it could be in with pdf and cbr.
It’s entirely possible you won’t find the story, you can always opt to purchase the story if you managed to get your heart set on it, but otherwise my recommendation is to move on to the next story that might interest you. You can, of course, spend more time looking and possibly find it after a few hours, but if you just want to read comics, I recommend simply moving on.
Please be careful when downloading pirated content when all the links are in a language you aren’t necessarily familiar with. This is probably standard fare, but y’know how it goes.
How to get a cbr reader:Any cbr reader will do. There are a lot of free options! I personally use CDisplayEX but feel free to look around for a cbr reader that you’d prefer. Just make sure not to let CDisplay download other things during launch, it asks permission to download random things you don’t need, just say no and you’ll be fine.
How to get a torrenter:Again, any torrenter will do and there are lots of free options. I use bittorent and don’t really have any complaints. Just be careful with what you try to torrent.

FREE ART PROGRAMS
So recently I came across a fellow artist who was struggling to find a free art program, and considering dropping the large amount of money for a Photoshop license. I know not everyone can afford such an expensive program, so I’ve compiled a list of programs with no cost to download and use.
Keep in mind all computers are different, so not all will work for everyone. Also, I’ve only ever used Windows, so for the most part, I’m not sure if everything will work for Mac. if in doubt check the website linked.
Photoshop CS2 - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
FireAlpaca - (Windows and Mac)
Sketchbook Copic Edition - (Windows and Mac)
GIMP - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI [cracked]  - (Windows) (Mac)
Paint tool SAI 2 beta - (tumblr post on said program)
iPaint - (Mac)
Paintbrush - (Mac)
Pencil - (Windows, Mac)
Paint.NET - (Windows)
Seashore [still in development, ver 0.5] - (Mac)
ChocoFlop - (Mac)
Inkscape - (Mac and Windows)
ArtRage [Demo] - (Mac and Windows)
OpenCanvas 1.1[must pay for 2.0] - (Windows, not sure about Mac.)
MyPaint - (Windows)
Krita - (Windows)
Vectorian [Supports Animation] - (Windows)
Pixia[Japanese, some English versions] - (Windows)
Asperite - (Windows)
Chasys Draw IES - (Windows)
SmoothDraw - (Windows)
TwistedBrush Open Studio - (Windows)
BOUNS - CTRL+Paint [Great for teaching all kinds of stuff, like how to use digital programs.]
If you know more free programs, please add onto this!

Again this is my personal take on color! It really depends on the situation and what you personally value, and in the end practice is your best friend.
links:
genice’s color practices
color palette challenge (one iteration of it; there’s lot of people who made them)
(not mentioned, but helpful)
Patrick (H) Willems’s video essays on color in film; specifically his ones on
Wonder Woman and Marvel
I thought he had one on John Wick too but I can’t find it. If you like saturated colors though, check that movie out!!
those are only a couple of exterior references, there’s lots out there!! so good luck & I hope this helped!!

A friend asked me how I draw feet/shoes so I made this quick thing for them on how I breakdown feet when drawing. Thought it might be useful to someone else.

some resources for people who want to start animating
free animation programs
the 12 principles of animation
51 animation exercises (from beginner to expert)
glen keane animates a scene
my advice: have fun and play–play is learning | always be watching real life to see how things move | also be watching cool animations to learn from them | don’t wait until you’re ‘good at art’–animating will help you improve | it’s hard but so worth it when things turn out well, good luck!
