I’m rewatching Zuko Alone again and I am struck by the distinct feeling that every time Flashback!Azula says stuff like “grandpa’s totally gonna die soon, dad should be fire lord instead of uncle” and “ugh uncle should’ve stayed in Ba Sing Se and burned it to the ground even if his son died” she’s actually repeating things she’s heard her dad say recently.

Not that I didn’t think it was Ozai’s influence before, but I thought it was more along the lines of “Ozai raised Azula to think similarly to him, then she came up with these ideas on her own” but now I feel like the show was trying to tell us more about Ozai than Azula with these lines, and that this is literaly what he has said in the presence of Azula.

The fact that Ursa seems confused about where Azula got all of these ideas tells us that Ozai regularly takes Azula aside a lot more than anyone else is actually aware of. Maybe he takes her into war meetings, maybe he sits in on her firebending instruction; he definitely talks to her more than Zuko and maybe even Ursa.

Maybe it was obvious to other people, but then again the thing I love about this show is that you notice new things every time

TLDR; I think the oddly cruel stuff that young Azula says about Iroh and Azulon in Zuko’s flashbacks are not meant to show us how bad Azula was “even as a child”, instead, they show us Ozai by having the child he spends the most time with parrot his words

Now, in the clear light of the post-combat situation report I grant that it was perhaps not the most tactically efficient course to expend a once-per-mission cooldown and incur sufficient excess heat to melt my own reactor core twice over in order to inflict 45 points of damage upon a target with 8 HP, but I strongly feel any assessment of the soundness of my decision should take into account that fucker had it coming.

Hello, I'm here to talk about HB3. You're probably wondering what HB3 is (since barely anyone's talking about it), to give a basic rundown on what this thing is, HB3 is a law that's similar to KOSA. Except it's for Florida exclusively. It aims to “protect” minors online by making them more unsafe. Like taking away safe spaces and crucial information.

If you live in Florida, don't give up or panic! iirc, it's having legal trouble due to it being unconstitutional. But Don't feel relieved yet, Kansas has done something similar (I'll probably talk about that later)

Now is there anything that we can do? Of course! But we can't call them since it already passed as a law (I think) the most we can do is protest and spread awareness. If you have friends or mutuals in Florida let them know!!
