every month with chronic & mental illness in the US is like please ma'am may I have some more of the medications that make me not die I've been a very good boy. and the doctor is like of course. let me ask the corporations. and then I call the pharmacy a few days later like hey so my doctor said I'm allowed to live. can I have those medications...the corporations said I couldn't ask for them any earlier so I'm out now...and they're like oh, some inexplicable delay has occurred with the corporations or the mail or our computer, even though you do this here every single month and have for years now. and then a week and a few calls later the corporation is like "ugh.....fine. you may live. that'll be hundreds of dollars." and I'm like "why am I even asking you if you're not going to pay for this" and they're like there is simply no other way this can happen without me making billions of dollars and as I'm sure you understand that is the greater good. see you next month if you live!

My hometown flooded Monday night.

Vermont has flooded.

My family and home are fine because the 7.8 inches of rain that fell in a day didn’t cause our house to slide of the ridge it sits on, but less than a thousand feet away roads have been washed out and homes are being condemned. Yesterday, our congressional delegation, the governor, and a FEMA representative, toured the town - focusing on the non-profit cat cafe turned hazardous waste site thanks to a basement full of red diesel fuel and the neighborhood that includes a ten story, low income, senior and disabled apartment building where the blacktop of the road lifted and peeled away in huge sheets. There is still only one route out of town to the interstate due to landslides and flooding. In every direction I can point to there are towns going through similar things. Our capitol, Montpelier, flooded causing most of the state government to shut down and move essential operations to a nearby airport. Many farms were in the path of flood waters and lost most of their crops. Vermont has the second largest population of unhoused people per capita, second to California, with many of them camping in the woods along our rivers. They have lost everything.

In short, we need help.

not to teacher language at everybody but this is a perfect mentor text for when you really like a fic/series and you’d love more but you also know the author’s got other stuff going on and you understand! as a writer this makes me feel (a.) valued, (b.) seen, (c.) like people care about the fic (which makes me want to prioritize it) and (d.) not even in the least bit pressured. nice job on this!

i’m hoping to do young guns part 2 in chapters so that i can space it out while i’m busy with grad school etc, and it really means so much that people care about that niche corner fanfiction adventure. it’s a labor of love. 

#lmao since this last updated i #got my ass kicked by my saturn return first of all #got gay divorced and then gay remarried #got a masters degree moved 3000 miles worked at 3 different schools #developed a chronic illness including brain problems a heart condition and asthma #went through a devastating friend breakup and went to SO much therapy (not entirely related) #fractured my wrist adopted a bjorn #found out i was autistic (to NONE of your surprise i'm sure lmao shocked no one told me already after seeing my Research) #man that's not enough the half of it #here i am anyway!
