Reblogging this because I answered right as I got home from a longish rotation and was not all there, Mirai likes blue, and yes. I feel very bonita.

She also likes to play with hair ribbons and stuff and Kurenai's curlier hair tangles very easily so I'm often offered as a sacrificial lamb. Ino sometimes participates too. So if I show up with blue hair some time, you can guess what happened.

Kakashi will deny it to his dying breath, but he is a work of art. I guess beauty is in the high of the beholder and all that shit, but he is absolutely beautiful to me. And no, gloves come off in private. Only time he keeps them on is if we're on a time crunch or in a risky location.

Mh, that's fair. One vice isn't too bad (although it does seem there's at least one other, with equally pointy ends). Good that the metal doesn't have too much of an impact. I've heard lip and mouth piercings can do some damage... So I've been avoiding those.

I'm trying to quit smoking at the moment... Emphasis on trying.

Piercings are just generally a bad idea when you see combat on the regular. Since it's not rubbing against the front of my teeth, there's minimal gum damage but the blunt ends of my teeth are a little damaged from like thirty years of having one in, but it's not too bad.

I've had a lot of people assume I used to smoke or still do because of the senbon, but it was actually something my academy teacher gave me because I chewed on my lips and fingers until they bled and then it stung horribly and just. Not a good idea for a future poisons expert.

Tip for breaking habits that a lot of people seem to miss: You can't just get rid of a bad habit by willing it away, you have to replace it with something else. A lot of people seem to forget that when it comes to quitting smoking or some other addictive habit. Find something that somewhat fills that hole it leaves in your routine. Asuma was trying to quit, before... well. He was trying to quit so Mirai wouldn't grow up with him dying from lung cancer or something similar. He and Gai sparred a lot, went for the adrenaline of a fight he couldn't win over the nicotine itch. Seemed like it was working well enough, too.

Had one noble, not even a kid this time, mix up buttercups and dandelions on which was edible and which was poisonous. His chef went off on him telling him he was an idiot but he kept ordering buttercup salads until he fell into a coma and I was called in to fix it.

I don’t get why people assume I can fix any poisonings that happen. I can cause them, sure, but antidotes only work on animal-based poisons and venoms. Everything else is just immunity training. Call a fucking doctor, not a poisons expert. Unless you don’t know what poison it is, then call both. But still.

See, now it depends on when we’re talking about him. If it’s the scrawny teenager I fucked around with in ANBU, he had to be dragged into any sort of intimacy afterwards kicking and screaming, and that includes aftercare. If we’re talking about the Rokudaime, he’s actually incredibly gentle and knows what he’s doing by now. Knows the whole drill down to how I like my hair washed afterwards. Still panics at any sign of genuine attachment though, which is funny.

Since screwing has been heavy on everyone's minds, let's flip the script. Intimacy comes in all brands. What's something you notice your comrades do when they see you getting frayed? Are they quiet? Or is it Raidou &Gai dragging you outta bed for a spar & round at the bar?

Kakashi is allergic to the full spectrum of emotions, he usually leaves me with a dog and runs away.

Anko tends to distract me with analysis, asking for my help with a chemistry problem or some pestering about a new venom or poison.

Raidou takes me out for drinks and I usually end up crying into his toilet while he holds my hair, then sleeping on his couch for the next week.

Gai gives amazing hugs, second to only Chouza sensei. He’s surprisingly gentle and is usually against sparing when I’m not at a hundred percent.

Sensei doesn’t always have time to offer an ear or a shoulder, but I tend to come home to a meal in the fridge with a note asking to meet up sometime to discuss something or another.

Ibiki offers sparing or drinks and a movie. It’s fun to critique bad action movies or cheesy romcoms when a little tipsy and leaning against a giant human heater.

Hayate offers a night of boardgames with him and Yugao, sometimes with Izumo and Kotetsu too. Uno and Monopoly are done under supervision only and no weapons allowed.

Kurenai is a self care queen and on the rare days we actually cross paths it’s an all day event of deep conditioning, pedicures, face masks, and playing with makeup. Mirai is adorable and loves to ‘help’ and often paints my toenails. And everything else in the vicinity but it’s cute.
