most fandoms are prone to reducing characters to consumable archetypes for the purposes or comedy (or shipping). but what’s amazing to me is that the atla fandom somehow not only reduces characters into stock tropes, but somehow manages to whittle them down into their exact opposites. aang’s whole deal is that he is a wise and prodigious monk who very deliberately represses the depth of his grief so as not to be crushed under the weight of it, and so naturally he is reduced into an oblivious, blissfully happy child. katara’s whole deal is that she yearns for joy and adventure and often reacts to situations before she’s thought through the consequences, so naturally she’s reduced to the overly-serious, sensible voice of reason. sokka’s whole deal is that he’s a miserable hater who’s way too smart for his own good and thus overthinks himself into a hole at every turn, so naturally he’s reduced to a wacky goofy idiot with no tact and no brain. toph’s whole deal is that she’s uniquely thoughtful and perceptive and waits and listens before acting, so naturally she’s reduced to an impulsive chaotic gremlin with all the emotional maturity of a sea cucumber. zuko’s whole deal is that he can’t read a room, has no filter, and loves to monologue, so naturally he’s reduced to a brooding stoic. iroh’s whole deal is that he is tormented by the sins of his past at all times, so naturally he’s reduced to everybody’s favorite perfect and unimpeachable old man. azula’s whole deal is that her undying loyalty and obedience to an egomaniac shall be her undoing, so naturally she’s reduced to a selfish and hysterical woman who just does whatever the fuck she wants because she’s ontologically evil i guess. ty lee’s whole deal is that she is constantly performing, so naturally people always just take her at face value. i could go on. but i think you get my point.

Ten Hag could've spoken directly to Jadon about the problems he has with him instead of publicly putting him on blast like that. It makes sense for Jadon to publicly defend himself. Ten Hag was extremely cowardly and unprofessional for what he did and he didn't display being a good leader. It's clear from recent performances and lack of good results that the problems at Man U run deep. With lacklustre players like Harry Maguire and Bruno Fernandes it's obvious that Jadon is not the problem lol he wasn't even playing in a majority of the matches. Ten Hag is just an overrated egomaniac who can't accept the fact that he sucks and doesn't have the capacity to successfully manage a big club like Man United. He's obviously looking for someone to blame for his own shortcomings as a coach and unfortunately for Jadon he is seemingly the target and everything has fallen on him. I don't agree 100% with the way Jadon is operating or the way he has operated in the past but I think yall are forgetting that he is only human and he's also really young and seems to have very little support and backing from the people around him. I don't know where you've been lurking but I've seen nothing but criticism of Sancho and it got worse last season. Except for thirst edit on Tik Tok a majority of people criticise Sancho very harshly. People really lack sympathy for certain people and you guys cherry pick who you are gonna defend fiercely. With Sancho I find it's easy for people to just dismiss him as a moody entitled brat when we actually don't know the personal struggles he's going through because let's face it, no perfectly healthy individual would purposely destroy their own career and potential in the way we are currently seeing Sancho do something is clearly not right. This is not even factoring the kind of family he comes from and childhood traumas he may have.

i have sympathy for what he may be going through, but that doesn’t excuse him misbehaving with the manager, imagine doing that with your boss at work and see if that doesn’t get you fired

also you have to remember that ten hag gave him time off to deal with things and he still didn’t perform, i get that he has issues but that has nothing to do with ten hag and if he can’t deal with the pressure, he will likely not make it at united. most players who succeed at this club have a certain type of mentality, consider rashford, garnacho, bruno, licha etc, sancho hasn’t shown that so far

He showed up for a massive price tag (although he didn’t choose his price tag), he consistently underperformed and even got time off to recalibrate and then he came back and continued to underperform, it’s not just a price tag issue, I just don’t see enough effort from him

He then calls out Walter White on twitter instead of just keeping his mouth shut and working hard to get back in the team, we saw AWB get dropped completely and then make his way back and arguably get ahead Dalot in the pecking order
