From my limited knowledge online and from someone in my family who experiences this identity I approve. I think as long as you aren’t hurting anyone you can be who you wanna be. And from what I understand it stems from trauma and a way to cope so hell yeah! If it helps you (meaning people in general) go for it!

Okay! Id love to go into more detail of what being transspecies means! Educating people on the topic is one of my favorite things. So transspecies was a phrase coined around the mid-late 90s on were-forums. It indicates a more "serious" identity than therian/otherkin, though the label can be used in combination with them! There's multiple reasons why someone might ID this way: It fits them the best and their nonhuman experience, a political label to reclaim dehumanization, (through things such as being disabled - people who are often treated as "less than human"), or simply the desire to transition to ur kintype/to a less then human form. Yes! The next part! This identity DOES call for transition! There's a plethora of ways you can do this -- lets start for the non permanent ones. The first and simplest would be social transitioning ! This could be asking the people around you to refer to you as nonhuman, and openly using another name that you associate with your nonhuman side. Another method is gear! Paws, masks, fangs, those little limb extenders !! all of it !! Anything that makes you physically appear more nonhuman Now onto permanent mods,, there's stuff like tattoos to give your body scales and texture,, or just simply paw tattoos to show you ID this way,, Theres also skin insertions and all that jazz. This part is something im not super educated on The most common definition of transspecies is "bending the cultural boundaries of what it means to be human."

What are your thoughts on the transspecies portion of the alterhuman community?

I’m not knowledgeable about what that means. I myself am transmasc and I have an understanding of being trans but I’m just unsure what transspecies entails. If you’d like you explain more or if anyone would I’d be happy to listen!

I mean I’m okay with all identities as long as they aren’t harming others. (I don’t agree with people who are non-contact or contact and identify with illegal labels/attractions)

🦷- I guess it's a mixed bag for me. I do believe in reincarnation and that I was these animals in a past life but it's also psychological for me. I am these animals now. I know I can't physically shift but there is apart of me that is canine. It even goes beyond "carrying my past lives with me". I truly am a wolf and a dog in a way.

🪻- I've told my close friends and my partner and they all have been super supportive. My friends who aren't alterhuman ask questions occasionally and are chill about it. And my alterhuman friends of course were awesome about it.

My New Paws!

I finally got my dream piece created by an amazing artist on Instagram called Faceted Fox Designs. I commissioned them to make my paws, my wolf paws.

The feeling of being able to look down and see my true paws beneath me will be a feeling like no other. I highly recommend checking them out as they will now be offering this design to others!
