I may not have watched the Huling Sayaw Concert of Kamikazee but I still consider myself lucky to be invited to shoot for the JB Music Caroling Champion Contest.They did their own version of a Christmas classic Feliz Navidad. What do you expect being with these guys in the same room? It was truly an amazing experience for me as a fan. I felt like I was watching kids cracking up jokes at each other. At dahil dyan gusto kong bumili ng wind chimes, pag nabadtrip ako papatunugin ko na lang hahaha!

QUESO hits hard at Musikabuluhan IX
Musikabuluhan is a community of volunteers lead by Irene Mangahas and her group of her friends who share the same passion of giving back to communities through providing education to children, indigenous peoples and the music and art community. When I first met Ms. Irene, she showed me a video clip of a school in Pampanga with volunteers giving school supplies to Aeta children. This year although having issues with a physical injury and one of the father of volunteer’s death.
With friends, bands such as Queso and Draven Philippines supporting them, they aim to build a school teaching how to play music instruments. Their first target is to have a guitar.

Up for grabs was the Queso - Penitentiary Shirt and lanyard produced personally by Irene, which proceeds went to Musikabuluhan’s fund to raise money for their project.
The event was well attended by passionate metal heads and die hard loyal Queso followers. Galaw Tao, Sucketseven, Tone Down, Distorted Mankind, Lavos Beckon, Unico, and Midnight Drive were among the others who rocked out.
Everyone was anticipating Queso that night and the band did not disappoint them. Crowd surfing peeps were all over the place! I have a thing on crowd shots... and it surprised me to finally capture some fans wearing their Dravens as they do what they in the pit!

Shooting a Punk gig while having fever hahaha (PUNKS NOT DEAD!!!!)
Oi Attack is one of the longest running event production dedicated to the punk scene here in the Philippines. It was founded by Merck Alvarez are true blooded punk. He is also known as one of the hosts of the Medyo Late Night Show with Jojo A shown in GMA 7 and TV5.
Throughout its run, it has supported many local punk, ska and reggae bands and bonded the ois and skin heads. And also brought international punk bands in their annual line up. Some of the most memorable acts they brought in my opinion are the Argies (Argentina) in 2011 and Intifadah (Singapore) in 2012.

This year Oi Attack was held at Botong’s Bistro in A-venue Makati. It was hosted by The Doctor (Ramon Zialcita) and the acts who performed are After After Party (HK) , Two Finger Salute (HK), Oi Squad (FranceXHK) and Jenny Woo (Canada).
I was really sick during the event, and I didn’t know how managed to still stand on my feet while everybody else around me is mobbing me LOL.

But I must say, audience participation always gives you energy even when you’re dead tired from whatever.
The local punk scene is one of the nicest places to brutally hit the floor and dance to release your stress. Everybody was dancing and singing and hugging each other LOL.
Jenny Woo was really friendly! But WHATTAVOICE! Man, you gotta check her acoustic oi project! Her song were like picking the words inside my head.
JENNY WOO!!!!!
She’s travelled to many countries and her Asian tour has ended in the Philippines... She said it will be one of the most memorable things in her life to play here in Manila. See you again next Oi Attack! Oi! Oi! Oi!!!!

It has been a struggle for me to go back actively in social media nowadays. Honestly, I loathe posting my very own thoughts and opinions about many things. But then, I still remind myself that communicating is one of the best ways in improving your skills. It is a free tool that you can use in finding out if you’re getting better or just stuck doing crap.
Anyway, here is a photo of a mother and child tandem while watching a metal band. It does not make you a less of a man if you know how to have a good time with your mom. You rock dude!

Sweet Haven Book Cover
I was so busy past week and forgot to update stuff like I promised. I was asked by a friend, Kuya Jordan if I have photos of a girl that he might use for a project. I was kinda hesitant at first because I had “glamour” pictures of friends. But when he told me that it was for a book cover I immediately ask him to wait for 2 days so I can approach my friend Nitnit to pose for me.
We did our shoot in their condo in Taguig. She was actually also kinda hesitant because the topic of the book was too sensitive. But somehow I managed to convince her that once it’s out it will be a great plus factor. It was far from the original peg but I am glad they did consider it and found it beautiful!
Last weekend, Anvil Publishing had a book launch for 4 books including Sweet Haven. I went there all by myself to see the book for the first time after we’ve work on it. I somehow wish to meet the author Miss Lakambini Sitoy but she was not there. So yeah. At last I had a book cover hahaha. I was often rejected when I submit works for books but now I have a book cover. THIS IS SOMETHING!!!!!!

Shooting for Draven Shoes
I feel so proud to be shooting Draven Shoes - Philippines. Ever since I started music photography I have seen Draven Shoes sponsoring some of our local musicians and artists in the likes of Wilabaliw, Kjwan, Paramita, Hilera, Intolerant, Skychurch, Philia and a whole lot more. And it was one of the very first brands to support the underground scene. We are very grateful for Draven’s appreciation and supporting us with our passion.
Honestly this opportunity has boosted my confidence again. I felt inspired again like I wanna go out and watch gigs.. Thank you for this opportunity!

In my 27 years of existence, I’ve only found out 6 years ago what I wanted to do with my life. It’s annoying to be racing against time, but I will be thankful instead that I now I finally know. Everything when I started was like a uphill struggle. Nothing huge has happened now, or changed my life. I just felt, bit by bit that somethings are coming in and that all my efforts are paying off.
In my 27 years of existence... I have learned that SILENCE IS GOLD. That my loner status is an advantage. I am someone who makes me happy. I will stand for me.
