Hello again

It's been a while and luckily my abscence is for good reasons. I moved to a new state and started school pretty much as soon as I got here, so I've been busy being a college student again. There's a little bit of a learning curve, but I've gotten A's in all my classes so far. I've been lurking and debating on what to do with this place recently and I think I've come up with a tentative idea that would be easy for me to stick with.

So, quickly, this was originally a blog I started to build my own story-based save file, including coming up with my own storylines and building each home. This halted pretty much as soon as I started school. I've worked on a handful a builds, but it's not a concievable basis for this blog anymore. I've also have been seeing a lot of cool story worlds, so I'm like 99% sure I'm just going to add my sims to one of those and work from there. I'll keep working on my own privately, but realistically I don't see myself being able to fully commit to it until after I graduate. Sorry, I'm a really slow builder on my best days.

But good news. I'm planning on bringing Bug Squad back! I will be doing a massive time jump (basically post-college) and start from when they're just entering their respective work forces. I tried playing High School years and I just couldn't get past the fact the students randomize every day and a few of the bugs I encountered. I'm going to add them and their families to a new save file with the new relationship dynamics and just play the game. I'll be working on this the rest of the month to start posting in May.

This turned out longer than I wanted. Thanks for sticking around. Feel free to ask me for households and builds to share on the gallery, I'm not gatekeeping them anymore haha. I'll post builds on here too as a finish them, but this place is making the official shift to story tumblr. Just saw someone say they’re working on a mod to have multiple high schools in one save. I’m a step closer to having a snooty Windenburg private school where Nancy ships off Malcolm.

 I’ve always kinda shipped these two, so when moments like this happen it always makes me happy. I have such a cool story idea for when they’re older, let’s hope I keep up with Bug Squad long enough this time to see it through...

So far, HSY is just a giant Depop add which sucks but isn’t suprising. I think if more was put into the actual high school experience, this could have been an actual solid pack based from the elements that were introduced like school clubs, events, and school customization. Like, for this to be the generation of the sims where they said they wanted to separate ideas so they can go further into depth with them, they really go about it in a weird way. They could just done a proper fashion pack, but instead we get a stylist career as a free update, but styling booth and chair with get famous, fashion photgraphy with a stuff pack, and fashion influencer part time career and thrifting gameplay with high school years, don’t even get me started on the 3-4 different types of social media when social bunny could’ve been the perfect oppurtunity to consolidate them all into one thing...I know for a fact this depop sponsership impacted a lot of the short cuts with the actual high school elements with high school years. minirant over.

...Anywho, I know i’d probably have more fun if I had to focus on one household, but with six it’s just a lot to worry about, but I think i’ve come up with a way to tell the story I want, get the screenies I need, and in the best way possible, some cheating is needed but it shouldn’t take away from any organic progession at all.

Bumblebee applied her nightly facemask like her fave Octavia Moon suggested in her new lifestyle vlog. She dropped a few selfies in the groupchat on Social Bunny and danced around her room until it was time to remove it. She’s halfway through high school and can barely contain her excitement, but there’s no point in having a skincare routine without adequate rest, so she goes to bed.

Sorry that the updates for Bug Squad are taking a while. I dealt with some bugs from its release and added in some mods to help and have been trying to navigate those. Also, the way high school is set up makes it pretty difficult for rotational play, so I’m pretty much am going to have to stick to one household, so I’m also trying to rework my story idea to fit.
