An element of the "not enough f/f fic" conversation I haven't seen brought up is... OK I've seen this trend in many, many fandoms, where there will be a canon m/f ship, and a popular m/m ship involving the guy from the m/f ship. And some people might start shipping the woman from the canon ship with another woman. And other people will LOSE THEIR MINDS because "you're just shipping it to make her less of a threat to your gay ship, this proves you hate women". Drives me crazy. Like, lack of f/f proves we hate women but also PRESENCE of f/f proves we hate women?

Is it possible that some people do it for that reason? I mean, sure. Can I see it being annoying if the f/f ship only ever appears as a side pairing in fic for the m/m ship? Definitely! But I've seen people complaining about this on posts fully dedicated to the f/f ship. This isn't gonna make less people ship the m/m juggernaut, guys, it just makes people less likely to talk about their f/f ships. Isn't that the opposite of the goal?

(Personally, I have a couple f/f ships like this, and it's mostly when I find the female lead or love interest compelling but consider the canon relationship a snoozefest. I still want to explore her, and if there's another lady around with whom she has an interesting dynamic? Let's go!)

A lot of people also seem to miss that pair the spares often happens when you like the spares. If you actually dislike them, they become the relationship obstacle or just get written out.

Man I'm so upset Durge isn't a companion but just a playable Origin. It feels so unfair that if they live Tav doesn't exist, and if Tav exists they're dead.
