back from my Lent fast just in time for Autism Acceptance Day. this is directly inspired by a RotTMNT version of The iPod Brothers that I cannot find again for the life of me. it's out there! somewhere! it had Raph and Donnie for autism, and then a matching post with Mikey and Leo for ADHD (three guesses what I'm drawing next), and it was very good.

here's a (marginally) less meme-y version because this actually turned out pretty well considering how fast I whipped it up

just popping in to let all (checks notes) wait why are there thirty of you. who are you people.

ANYWAY

I was away from wifi access for a month and had every intention of posting new art when I got back. but then college proceeded to beat me up in a back alley, work stole my wallet, and depression rifled through my pockets for spare time.

since Lent (February 14 through March 28 or 30, depending on your denomination) is starting next week and I traditionally fast from social media during that time, I've opted not to start posting only to immediately go radio silent again (not that that would be unusual for me, but y'know). with any luck I will return in April, just in time for the Day of the Fools, the Day of the Fool (my birthday), and the Day of Everyone Else Stop Being A Fool (autism acceptance day). truly the best month.

of course I gotta redesign my girl Pretzel too. I've been mentally rotating a Sonic Leashed rewrite in comic form for a while now, but I keep telling myself to wait till the series is finished, then start rewriting.

that said, I have been thinking about doing a comic mock-up of some kind as a sort of test run for these redesigns... we'll see. regular Sonic and Pretzel I'm pretty solid on, but the scene I've got in mind involves the hedgecat, which still needs some work for the new design. we're getting there.

friend o' mine shared a D&D personality quiz in our group chat and I got tabaxi wizard. jokes were made and I decided to take a crack at drawing this hypothetical character. I've never actually played Dungeons & Dragons and I don't know much about it, so everything I gathered about tabaxi was from the Dungeons & Dragons wiki.

after drawing this I got the idea that while other tabaxi fly around on giant birds, Zing would have a giant derpy fruit bat named Public Transportation. tragically I lost motivation before drawing it.

A colorful beaded necklace is around her neck. She has one hand to her chest as she looks up with determination, eyes glowing blue.

In the bottom left corner of the page is a drawing of Marine as Mana, jumping with her arms spread and a wide smile on her face.

Finally, in the bottom right is a sequence with Blaze and Sonic. Blaze points aggressively at Sonic as Atem, growling "If you sacrifice yourself, I swear to Solaris no afterlife will save you from me." Sonic raises his hands in defense with a sheepish smile, saying "ok, ok!"

Beside Surge is Kit as Rishid/Odion Ishtar. He is a head shorter than Surge. He wears a floor-length hooded purple robe, black shirt and pants, yellow belts, and yellow, black, and white shoes. He also wears black gauntlets studded with metal. He stands with hands slightly raised, staring straight ahead with a flat expression.

Finally, Blaze as Isis/Ishizu Ishtar stands apart fro the rest, looking off to the side uncomfortably. She wears plain cream robes with a gold belt and pink high heels. She has a golden crown of sorts on her head. Around her neck is a gold necklace with a red Sol Emerald affixed to it. /end ID]

Yu-Gi-Oh!, part the third. Malik!Surge and Rishid!Kit was the best brainwave I've had for this AU, it works so well. I might even use it in reverse for my Sonic/Yu-Gi-Oh! AU, too. though that only works if I keep Yami Yugi as Sonic, which I'm thinking of changing. and I already had a very amusing slot for the Ishtars... hmm, decisions, decisions.

Her hair is longer than canon Rouge's, falling past her shoulders. She has one hand on her hip, the other held up as if she is examining her nails. She looks to the side with a smirk.

On the bottom half of the page are several drawings recreating Yu-Gi-Oh! screenshots, but replacing the characters with their respective AU Sonic counterparts. Knuckles lifts Marine by her shirt collar as he scolds her for doing something stupid. Super Sonic (taking the place of Yami Yugi) grimaces awkwardly as birds land on him and Amy watches with amusement. There are several drawings of Marine making Joey faces.
