A monstrous cat. Hidden just around the corner, off the main streets and in the dark of rarely trodden passages. She lurks, waiting for her prey to wander unwittingly into her clutches.

It is said that, confronted by this massive creature presenting the citizens' taxes, the terrified collectors thereafter dropped the high tax rates.
He can be understood as a symbol of the fight against Angola's colonial management under the Portuguese.

A determined, although lingering, soul. There's no telling whether a particular paring pugot's head is even still recoverable. Should you find yourself approached and asked for help, would you choose to try and aid such a wandering spirit?

Sudden impossible hunger. After stepping upon the fairy's grass, no matter how much one might eat, all that is left for them is starvation.
Fear Gorta, in turn, may form from this phenomenon, or may form this phenomenon themselves.

Despite the literal translation of its name being "chicken ghost", the Ma Gà is not the spirit of a chicken. Instead, they are named after their favorite food. Should they not be fed properly, the ghost will either enter a family member's body to demand food, or even cause general declines in the health of the family.

One notable tale involving Lange Wapper recounts how he disguised himself as a woman who had four suitors. Through the tale, he would trick each suitor into a chain of his pranks. These pranks would end up unintentionally ending the lives of all but the fourth suitor. Then, when the fourth told the real woman the story, she took her own life in her grief. Lange Wapper was rather delighted to hear the results of the whole commotion.

Perhaps more mundane than a majority of entries I cover, the Hook is an urban legend that has had a notable presence and impact in pop culture compared to his similar, Lovers' Lane terrorizing, peers.

This strange being's origins are unclear, ranging from being a degraded god to one of a variety of ghosts. Said ghosts include that of a woodcutter who lopped off his own leg, a blacksmith, and even the sealed spirit of a wild boar.
