Why Maps&Globes Inc. Took Over Hawaii

  Maps&Globes Inc. wasn’t doing to good. Everybody was buying maps and globes from their rivaling company, Globes&Maps Industries. That was why the CEO, Mr. Mabs, was standing up in front of his main three in frustration.

  “What are we going to do?!” He asked the room at large, slamming his hands down on the table in frustration.

  “I don’t know,” Mr. Glaps replied solemnly, looking back at the charts behind them.

  Mrs. Glopes shrugged as well before turning to look at the rest as Ms. Mobes stood up. “I have an idea!”

  “What is it?!” Mr. Mabs asked his right hand woman desperately.

  “Well,” Ms. Mobes began, writing her idea on the huge whiteboard. “People are just buying maps and globes willy nilly, right? All maps and globes are the same, so no use getting a different brand, right?”

  “Where are you going with this then? What’s your solution to make our maps better?” Glaps questioned, confusion crawling on his features.

  “Have the only accurate map.”

  Mrs. Glopes gasped. “Are you suggesting sabotage?!”

  “Ms. Mobes! We are a fair and just mega corporation!” Mabs exclaimed in shock.

  Ms. Mobes just shook her head. “Not sabotage,” She smirked.

  A couple weeks later, one commercial was airing on nearly every platform imaginable. 

  “DO YOU LIKE MAPS?!” A man on screen screamed. “AND DO YOU LIKE THOSE MAPS TO BE ACCURATE?!”

  A second man nodded before exclaiming in an equally as terribly acted voice, “Yes!”

  “WELL FRIEND, DO I HAVE NEWS FOR YOU! YOUR MAP ISN’T ACCURATE!”

  “It isn’t?!” The second man looked at his map in poorly acted shock.

  “IT ISN’T! NEITHER IS YOUR GLOBE!”

  Man number two was shocked when he stared at his globe. “And why is this?!” He asked.

  “BECAUSE IT STILL HAS HAWAII! AND HAWAII HAS BEEN CONQUERED AND IS NOW IT’S OWN COUNTRY, MAPS&GLOBES LAND!”

  “No way!”

  “YES! AND MAPS&GLOBES INC. IS THE ONLY BRAND WITH THE MOST ACCURATE MAP AND GLOBE! SO IF YOU WANT ACCURATE MAPS AND GLOBES, COME BUY MAPS AND GLOBES FROM MAPS&GLOBES INC., THE ONLY ACCURATE MAPS & GLOBES IN THE WORD!”

  The commercial was cut there. It was a hit of course! Everybody wanted an accurate version of the map and globe, one without Hawaii and with Maps&Globes Land. They cornered the map market and rounded out their globe profits.

  It really was a great way to sell their maps and globes.

Crush: A Drabble By Eleron

  Sansa got on the bus and went to the seat assigned to her. She sat down and looked to her left to see her Crush! ‘Why am I by my Crush?’ She though to herself. It just… sat there.

  ‘This is crazy! How’d it get here? Who brought it here? And why did they bring it here?’ She continued, confusing herself even more. ‘And why is it purple? I had an orange Crush earlier! And I thought that there was no drinks on the bus? Oh well.’

  Sansa picked up the crush can and took a HUGE sip. “Ahh… refreshing!”
