a/n: god i forgot how much i love writing for jiyong PLS - ruby

✵ gn!reader, baking together, established relationship, winter vibes but no holiday specified!

Jiyong’s lips catch yours the moment you turn from the counter, tasting like chocolate chips from stolen bites of cookie dough. Your flour-caked hands leave palm prints on his dark shirt, but he merely pulls you closer with a grin, chest expanding beneath your touch with a stifled laugh.

“You--…” He tries to silence you with a kiss, but you persist. “Need to stop… Eating.. The cookie… dough.” The words come out in a staccato between pecks, your mouth curling into a knowing smirk when he huffs in response. “Or else I won’t be able to make these cookies you said you’d die without.”

When he pulls away to reply with a snarky retort, you take the opportunity to snake your way out of his grip, barely escaping his sticky, sugary fingers as they attempt to latch onto the tie of your apron. The neatly tucked bow unravels, but you sacrifice the fabric and reach for the bowl of cookie dough while Jiyong growls playfully behind you.

“Baby…” He whines, as you hold the bowl above your head with both hands. “Hand it over!”

You giggle before clearing your throat, forcing your expression into feigned determination. “Over my dead body,” you state, raising your chin. The kitchen sits in silence for a moment, two, and then Jiyong has that look; eyes thinned, dark pupils sparkling.

You’ve been chased by him enough to recognize his familiar stance, and you barely take off before he does, the sound of his socks sliding against the tile filling your ears seconds later.

Shownu occupies the toilet for an hour

Changkyun keeps his skincare products in the fridge

Jooheon stands in a corner and watches Shownu take a shower and dress

Hyungwon doesn't clean up after he eats

Wonho used to put chicken breasts in blender like a smoothie & keep that "thing" in the fridge

Changkyun is butt naked almost all the time & sits on leather chairs like that

They have no dining table

Shownu doesn't have bedsheets

Kihyun cleans the fridge in the bathtub

I don't particularly mind what genre and I'm not the most Christmas-y person, but empty city late night/early morning walks in the snow with Min Yoongi sounds like my speed.

A chilly breeze passes you, making you shove your hands further into your winter coat pockets. You watch as the sun rises in the distant, clouded by smoke from the city and gusts of snow. Your nose begins to grow numb, making you wonder if you’ve been outside just a bit too long. After all, it wasn’t your idea to be here at the crack of dawn. Yoongi had called you and asked to meet up at the local park. His usual cranky morning voice was nowhere to be found. Instead, he sounded chirpier and actually excited about something…

You consider running into a nearby coffee shop for warmth when a hand suddenly grabs your left shoulder. “Cold, aren’t you?”

You jump slightly from the bench, only to find Yoongi in a bright, neon beanie staring down at you.

“God, don’t scare me like that!” you announce, reprimanding him.

“Well, it’s not my fault you’re a scaredy-cat.” He smiles, sitting next to you.

You begin to squirm, pressing into his side as much as you can to warm yourself up.

“So what’s going on? Why did you ask me to meet you here so early?” you ask, sniffling your nose.

“Well,” he begins, throwing his arm around you, “I’m going to just come out and say it, Y/N. There’s no point in beating around the bush with this kind of thing.”

You feel your stomach drop. Did he not want to be your best friend anymore? Was he so upset over the fact you left him out of those movie plans on the weekend? Your mind runs in a million directions, all expecting the worst.

“Y/N, I’m in love with you.”

A heavy silence hangs in the air, and you’re suddenly unable to breathe.

“W-what?” you stutter, heart pounding and stomach filling with butterflies.

“You heard me. I’ve been feeling this way for a while now and I was scared to tell you. Honestly, nothing scares me more than this.” His voice softens, his head lowering as he takes your hands into his.

“Yoongi – I – I’ve had feelings for you too,” you gasp, overcome with bliss.

He turns to face you, revealing his cheeks are a shade of pink you haven’t quite seen before on him. You smile back, realizing there are so many sides of your dear Yoongi that you are yet to see.

The carefully picked songs on your holiday playlist fade away amongst the symphony of laughs and familiar jokes; a whine echoes through the room, and you look just in time to watch a pair of antlers peek out from behind the tree. Jongdae’s face appears a second later, reindeer headband sliding down his forehead with his fast movement.

“Why do I have to wear this one?” he huffs, though you can’t respond before Baekhyun’s santa hat enters your line of vision too. The fluffy pompom at the end knocks a few pine needles loose, covering the ground next to him.

“Because Y/N likes me more,” the younger remarks, continuing to haphazardly place the ornaments you gave him. Each of his decorations dangles from one heavily weighted branch, but he hums contently and you can’t find it in yourself to correct him.

You’re saved from Jongdae’s retort when Minseok emerges from the kitchen a second later, where the distant chatting of your loved ones and the smell of cooking mix together. He’s balancing a tray of drinks, and with him in charge, you know something is spiked; the sweet tinge of wine that fills your nose seconds later confirms it.

You squeeze the squishy red ball on his nose in thanks, whereas Jongdae just impatiently grabs for his cup, stretched fingers wrapping around the glass with a ting! “What do you think, Minseok? Who does Y/N like more?” He and Baekhyun sit, shoulders shaking with hidden laughs of excitement. How they still have this much energy after hours of work, you don’t know.

Minseok hums in thought as he passes you your drink with a gentle, knowing smile. “Me.”

Your glass meets his with a winning cheer as the sounds of two whines fill the room.

i just realized i completely forgot to reblog this -- i’m so sorry darling!!

thank you so much for your sweet comments, i (and raina, ofc) appreciate them so much!! this fic was our baby for a long, long time and i think it still holds a special place in our heart despite being a whole two years old!! it was truly a great experience all around, from the planning to the interaction with fans of the series who argued over whose ending was more well-deserved 😂
