Relationships Marvel has tried ( unsuccessfully ) to make me ship in the MCU. Spoiler alert: is basically all of them.
Natasha x Banner : No words. Just. . . What was the fucking need?
Clint x Laura : Marvel I respect your will to give Barton a nice farm family but they also make 0 impact to his development as Hawkeye. And it’s not like any of his kids is gonna take his title as Hawkeye, that’s Kate Bishop’s place. Family shouldn’t be an accessory or push for feelings only.
Jane x Thor : Marvel has an issue confusing admiration with love. Jane was only curious about Thor and impressed by his nature, and literally knew him for a couple of days, yet you made her suffer for 2 years waiting for him, painted it as the romance of the year when they encountered in Dark World and then she dumped him????? You can’t force a relationship and then just make it vanish as if it had never happened only for plot reason. It breaks character portrayal.
Dr. Strange x Christine : Christine is good okay but I’m sorry, she has had 0 impact in Stephen’s development in the comics and 0 impact from now on. We’ve grown with him being helplessly in love with his soulmate Clea ( a highly underrated sorceress supreme by the way ) and she helped him grow so much; so why is Christine his love interest? If his biggest love is Clea? I’m starting to think Marvel just hates women as potential rivals or love interests. ( Hela, Agatha, for example. One season/movie and get killed off )
Steve x Peggy : No, I’m not talking about the romance itself, I’m talking about THE NEED OF HIM TO GO BACK TO THE PAST JUST TO BE WITH HER WHAT THE HECK. That’s obsession pal, get a therapist.
And finally . . . Spoiler alert.
Loki x Sylvie : Who told marvel that the biggest proof of narcissism is falling in love with yourself? It’s actually thinking of yourself above others. The romance would have been okay if Sylvie wasn’t. . . Well. . . Himself. They have the same fucking genetic code only varying gender and now you expect me to consider the idea of them being together?! Without thinking it isn’t some sort of inc**t or sel***st? What the fuck.
Yeah I’m not saying they couldn’t be a potential couple but ONLY IF SYLVIE WAS HER OWN FREAKING PERSON, NOT A VARIANT.
This is gonna sound bad, but I kinda miss Loki from the movies. I like the introspection and self awareness they’ve included in the series, but I think they are going too fast with his whole redemption arc and new persona, it almost doesn’t feel like him anymore. I miss the elegant, witty, mischievous and prideful Loki. It might not be the best personality traits, but it’s what characterized him. Right now . . . I don’t feel him as much. Which is sad because this series’s purpose was to show him and all of what he’s capable of, the true God of Mischief.
// It costed 0 cents to make Sylvie her own person to ship with Loki instead of a variant. Or not ship them at all. . .
Oh and by the way, to all of those saying “Loki didn’t come out as bi to ship them with a girl” is extremely biphobic, thank you very much.
( also, this doesn’t mean that hating the Loki/sylvie ship is biphobic, it’s reasonable tbh those two shouldn’t be together. I’m only speaking about those implying that Loki cannot like a woman in general for being bi )
|| . . . I honestly ignore whatever has happened in this community in 2020-2021. BUT a few years ago we did a massive psa/warning post on someone called “bowie” that hit like 400 notes of witnesses, and else. It even had a massive drive with screenshots and stuff, good lord i can´t forget that to this day. Does anyone else remember that or I´m just old?
·· “ someone has severely neglected your education. ”
·· he bends to slide the disc into the player, chuckles as he’s 𝑦𝑎𝑛𝑘𝑒𝑑 backwards. he settles beside her, drapes a robed arm over the back of the couch: casual, nonchalant. a gloved hand searches for the remote, whilst the tv turns on of its own accord; briefly, he regrets this. hela’s knowledge of midgardian technology is already limited: she probably shouldn’t hold the 𝙵𝙰𝙻𝚂𝙴 𝙱𝙴𝙻𝙸𝙴𝙵that televisions maintain some form of sentient consciousness.
·· the movie is chosen with care; he did consider 𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓, but figured she wouldn’t get the joke.
·· “ i think— ”
·· he hits play. OMINOUS piano notes creep from the speakers, 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆 the pauses between his words.
·· “ —you might be surprised. ”
EYES ARE BY FAR, more focused on the odd & dark screen, that suddenly lights up, to her surprise with no spell casted upon it. Interesting, midgardians had mastered the art of making things work by themselves with no mystic knowledge whatsoever. Of course, the word technology didn´t poke her mind, for she pretty much ignored it´s concept yet.
The spine-chilling sound fills the room, However Hel was quite familiar with it. Not with the exact melody, but with the classical undertone of it. The goddess gets it´s goal quickly, & glances up at the sorcerer, a seductive yet questioning look palpable in her expression. Oh she could see his grin curling that goatee.
“ . . . Is it´s intent to frighten me? ” the goddess is amused, & gently brushes her lover´s cheekbone with a finger while glancing back at the screen. “ You silly hu- ”
A female scream ceeps out of the very TV & the queen JUMPS very slightly as her hand flies to the sorcerer´s tight. Eyes widen in surprise, not at the scene itself anymore, but at . . . her own humilliating reaction. Hel remains silent, more quiet than the usual, but her eyes squint to the man besides her, suspecting a LAUGH is about to come from him.
ribbons of darkness loop in his midst, flourish along the stone walls andrain-smattered windows till all that yawns below, behind, and skyward are black.one wrong step here, hela, might lead to eternal…..VIOLATION. ‘ an EXCEPTION!! ‘ he’ll cut her TONGUE. Bite its GODLY piece.
nonetheless, his manners take precedence. his voice croaks bitterness. ‘ my name is count VLADISLAUS DRACULA. ‘

“ Is that supposed to FRIGHTEN ME ? ” Her words run like silk over the wind, but they carry meaning colder than Jotunheim itself. Doesn´t step closer, but her pale legs move slightly, gracefully pacing to the left. Verdant gaze judging him for his shameless insolence.
“ For I am Hela, GODDESS OF DEATH. And my name carries the weight of every soul within your impecunious realm. ”
as much as i joke about hela needing a hairbrush, she actually looks very put together, once she reaches asgard. she goes from this to this, between entering the bifrost and her next scene there. so clearly, hela’s initial state is due to her imprisonment, rather than a lack of care given to her appearance — once given the time and opportunity, she cleans herself up.
@helxcious since you prompted this and i already lost it once trying to type it in replies.
we see her repair her armor immediately after she exits the bifrost, so i certainly agree with you! the origin of hela’s power is it’s own discussion, but she clearly does draw from asgard, and her seidr is renewed / boosted by being there. and she’s likely expended a lot of it over the years, just trying to break odin’s seals ( and nearly succeeding, once ) and fighting the valkyrie, likely without much means of renewing it — how much seidr can an asgardian produce without proper nutrition, or living conditions, i have to wonder? how much is it tied to their physical condition? and hela was prepared for odin’s death. she must have been routinely testing the limits of his prison, for odin to feel her breaking free and her to arrive immediately once he was gone. that has to be a large magical drain on it’s own! you also have a point when it comes to her just… no longer caring. there isn’t really a point in maintaining your appearance, when you’re trapped alone in the realm of the dead for so long. and it’s very sad.
;; Which saddens me the most about this, is that the Hela of the MCU was the rightful queen of Asgard, not Helheim or Niflheim. Not in the sense of “oh i wish she was queen of hell” but in the sense of . . . they took EVERYTHING from her. And it was so unfair. Odin raised her to be a killing machine, the fear of the nine realms, and got surprised when she ended up wanting to rule everything and conquer other realms? Like. . . By the Norns, she is the Goddess of DEATH and your executor in the first place. They exiled her and didn´t give her any access to magic, I imagine not even nutrients of any sort as you mention. Just there, alone, with her own anger, and that anger drove her to test the limits of her banishment and Odin´s barrier for so long, I imagine she constantly did it the first centuries. Then just let herself go, goodness it must have driven her MAD at some point.
Hela arrived to Asgard longing to see her people & everything she knew, to rule them, and . . . she had just been erased from history???, she was only known and seen as a tyrant. And it´s not like she wasn´t objectively but . . . but she was forged to be one by Odin himself.
NECRONOMICON ——- all that she was at the bottom ofvormir’s cliffs was aware. the sound of insects drone in the middle of space.she yells into dreams every night. lies somber on endless stone, trying to holdon to the memory of clint even as the skin of her hands burn with the lighttouch of snow. can’t open those eyes where the legs and wings of locusts patteragainst her cheeks and catch in her red pleated curls. the mirror of abdulalhazred shatters. the sea of slain comrades paints her with laughs, screams of desperation, jeers and excrement.
augurreaches in, through yellow misty walls to detangle her limbs. broken bones wakeinside her, shards like talons curl into blood and meat as her hands areshifted. the void runs its tongue down every slope and crevice of her body, from ankle to thigh, from her scalp to her ear as the reverbing soul stoneshrinks and transverses. like hel—-
hela.
thedead widow is voiceless. a goddess is the last she expects.
The menacing silhouette of the asgardian death ruler made itself present at these times, where a wandering spirit without a realm to lay or memory to keep, found themselves lost in the cosmos. While the infinity stone kept the life of these unfortunate beings, there was always a host, the underworld queen in this case, that kept the bravest, or most sorrowful of souls to herself. Romanova was one of them, besides being a so wanted adquisition to her desolate realm.
The queen remains in front of her. Standing in the form of a mortal yet with the edges of her body flowing in a greenish smoke. Her eyes connect with the ruby headed one, expression cold & neutral.
“ So you know my name. ” The thunder god probably kept them well informed after the Ragnarok events. Glad it was the case. It saved time and an unnecessary introduction.
“I could certainly make the effort,” Strange replied, “but that’s never my goal.”
The Goddess of Death was dangerously bewitching, having adopted a stunningly beautiful form that could steal the strongest and most loyal of hearts, but woe to the unlucky one she targeted, as they’d become a helpless thrall dispatched without a second thought when their usefulness was outlived.
With one hand, he conjured a reality-distortion spell that convinced the passersby around them to walk in the opposite direction of their perimeter without knowing the reason why. They’d be none the wiser as a god and a magical mortal faced off.
“I’d much rather see you leave here peacefully,” Stephen added as he formed twin Tao Mandalas, getting into a defensive stance.
“I’m feeling generous today so I’ll give you one warning: Leave this realm NOW, Hela, or this is going to get really awkward really quickly.”·
Ordering her around, certainly not the dynamic Hel was used to, nor allowed. The queen´s grin seemed to curl upwards even more, which was bad, it showed how indulgent the goddess was with the idea of a rough battle. She wasn´t the ruler of the Dead for no reason. That was what she brought, in any realm she stepped in.
“ Well, sorcerer, seems you chose your own demise. ” After those words were spoken, the goddess, the velvet green dress she wore changed completely, into a tight & fierce dark armor. Head covered by a helmet full of horns, which showed the crown of Niflheim, those of the asgardian death rulers.
From her hand, a dark blade as well appeared, generating from her own hand. The sword expelled greenish & poisonous smoke, the whining of those who lost their heads for it could be heard if you listened close enough. Oh Hel wasn´t only showing herself as a warrior, but her deadly power could be now felt from miles. She no longer felt the need to hide the inmense amount of seidr within. Her eyes pierced his, they carrying death & inflicting fear within the beautiful hues.
