Tysm!!! And yeah,she’s around but I don’t really have anything specific in mind for her, she and light are maybe study buddies though?

As for Rem and Ryuk, yeah they definitely know each other. I think they grew up in the same area and went to the same schools growing up, however I don’t think they’re particularly close nor do they have common interests so they don’t really hang out unless for some reason Ryuk is following Light around and he goes to hang out with Misa and Rem.

Oo! I want to learn more about your death note college au! Invitation to ramble!

Oooh yay!!!

Okay well I’m gonna start with and mostly talk abt dynamics bc I talk about their majors in another ask!! (Also quick note: I’m mostly basing this off of my experience as a college student in the US as well as the glimpses of college we see in canon so if anything is inaccurate to university in Japan I apologize, this is just for fun and not meant to be too serious!)

But so Ryuk and Light Are roommates, and Misa and Rem are roommates. L lives on his own (or at least without another person) partially bc he doesn’t handle people well but also because he lives with his service dog. She’s a large chocolate Labrador retriever named Clue. She helps him with being autistic, mostly she’s there for social and moral support, as well as meltdown avoidance. She’s a big sweetie and is very good at her job!

Light and L are both still tied for being top of their class and as a result have a rivalry from the entrance ceremony onwards. They’re both on a debate team and definitely have full arguments both in debate and in general but it’s nothing too serious, they aren’t outright mean to each other.

Both of them are friends with Misa but don’t realize it until she tries to introduce them and they both freak out bc like of course she wants them to be friends with the one person they can’t stand in the school, but they kind of tolerate each other for her.

Misa and Rem are dating and are very cute, I love them a lot. Ryuk is just Light’s weirdo roommate that he has no idea what to do with. But it’s chill bc Ryuk just kind of does his own thing 99% of the time so Light mostly ignores him aside from polite conversation and Ryuk does the same. Misa and L are definitely super confused the first time they see Light wave politely to this super weird dude (Ryuk) in the hallway one day.

Misa still models though she’s not as famous in this au, and L thinks it’s cool, sometimes he comes along to watch her photo shoots and do his homework. Plus Misa bribes him to come with sweets afterwards. Light came along once and was bored, and just drank coffee after. Rem also goes along sometimes to support her gf.

Alsooo what courses are the crew taking?? Pretty sure Ryuk is only there 'cause his daddy makes him, or something 🤣🤣

Oooh!!!! Ryuk is definitely just there bc he has to be, no one really knows what his major is and I think he probably just takes random stuff, maybe mostly sociology and psychology stuff? I think it fits his interest in humans and how people interact well.

Rem I think would be either environmental science or nursing bc she seems to actually care about people sorta in canon (even if it’s mostly just cause she cares abt Misa)

Misa is getting a fashion degree obviously

Light is obviously getting a criminal justice degree

And L I think would be getting a psychology degree, probably specifically criminal psychology. As a result he and Light probably take a lot of classes together and this definitely fuels their beef with each other. I imagine they’re academic rivals since the entrance ceremony. and I think they’d both be on a debate team, which also just add to their conflict. Unfortunately for them they’re both friends with Misa and she *will* make them friends whether they like it or not lmao.

Oh thank you so much!! I unfortunately don’t have any cute doodles (yet, I’ve had some art block but I’m getting back into things. I’ll definitely post some doodles of them at some point) but they’re definitely dating!! They’re also roommates which is how they meet Initially and they immediately hit it off!

However I do think it’s be kind of interesting if they’re a secret bc Light and Misa are fake dating each other to protect their reputations and to get people to quit asking them out/abt if they’re dating anyone. And note that if this is the case it’s mutually beneficial and it’s chill and not toxic like their dynamic in canon!
