This drawing was custom made for my auntie. I referenced a photo of her wearing this dress, and just added my own spin to it.
I like the inclusion of the items in her hand. It makes the drawing feel more ‘human’. In the real photo, my aunt wears a hijab and a shinti (headpiece jewellery), so I had to include these too.

This piece took the longest to create- both in the brainstorming stage and the completion of the illustration.
This depicts a crocodile wearing a traditional bride’s wedding dress, complete with the accessories. This drawing took a lot of research, with regards to pose, jewellery and dress pattern. Again, texture to fabrics was something that I had to really concentrate on.
I would say this is my favourite piece to date.

Triceratops have bellybuttons too! (idk if that’s scientifically accurate tho)
This illustration allowed me to become a bit more confident in using abstract shapes to convey pattern and design on fabric. Salwar kameez are known for their intricate patterns, abundance of sequins and gems, and their inclusion of a matching shawl-like scarf.

Parasaurolophus wearing a dress that I actually have. I find it challenging and exciting trying to exhibit different textures of fabrics in illustration- as you can see here. I also do find it hard to draw overlapping and folded cloth. Hey ho, it was still exciting to create this drawing.

This was my first anthropomorphic dinosaur in a shalwar kameez I had drawn. I have always had a preference to drawing animals because
1. I can’t draw human faces lol
2. It feels weird drawing a face. What if I coincidentally draw the face of a random stranger?
