“You said something to me- when I first arrived.” Tisley said, stopping just outside of the library.
Patrick crossed his arms over his chest. “I did?”
Tisley nodded. “You said that the world is often filled with more good than evil. That we shouldn’t be blinded by what we are told, and instead to look for what is kept hidden from us.”
“Is that so?” Patrick mused, a smile tugging at the corner of his lip. “Well it must have stuck, as I myself don’t even remember saying it.”
Tisley bit her bottom lip and smiled. “You were right. Over the past few weeks, I’ve learned a lot- more than one can fathom in an entire year. But what stood out most was the amount of goodness that is kept from the human world.”
“You mean the witches?”
Tisley shook her head. “Not exactly.”

Epic love
“Their love was epic.” Talia said with total conviction. “World changing.”
“Do you believe such love exists for people like us?” Andre asked in interest, his silver eyes steady as they held Talia’s gaze.
Talia shrugged. “For some, maybe. For others, no.”
Andre straightened. “Have you found your epic love yet?”
Talia licked her dry lips. “Not as of yet, but one can hope. The future is often brighter than it is dark.”
Andre smiled lightly, as if amused by her words.
“What about you?” She asked almost hesitantly.
Andre frowned, shoving his hands into his pockets. “I’m still trying to figure that out.”

Parents, pain, past.
Juliet was aware of her parents past, just as she was aware that they had lost someone very important to them. A good friend, someone they’d loved dearly. Perry often mentioned that friend, but also another with the most breathtaking eyes, she always said. Juliet could hear the pain in her mother’s words when she reflected on her past, it was the same pain she felt when discussing her late parents or a novel without a happy ending. Juliet wished to never feel such pain.

Snippet
A great fork of lightning like Perry had never seen before shot down from the sky at the exact same time that Perry extended her sword. Just as she had hoped, the lightning hit the conductor immediately. Now, with any other blade this would have resulted in burning Perry to a crisp, but this was not just any other blade. The sword had first been her father’s, given to him by a very powerful witch. It was created to be a conductor of magic, meaning it absorbed whatever magical element hit it.
