Explaining to all companies that the three requirements for me to use a social media with any frequency are:

A chronological follow-only feed, ideally which I can set as default

Anonymity (my real name and face are not required)

Have a desktop version

You may call me boomer or whatever but if a social media doesn’t have bare minimum these three things then I will never use it ever. I won’t even make an account. You can suck at everything else but these are non-negotiable. The fact that they are anathema to profitability does not matter to me. If you cannot provide me these three things then I will simply not use any social media at all.

signed up to do art for 3 multi-chapter fics AND I promised my mother I’d make her a bird drawing to frame since I’m home AND I have to do research for academic stuff AND write emails AND essays for scholarships (college ain’t cheap kids) AND I decided to check out like 5 books at the library AND I joined a discord sever that’s running like 3 different art challenges right now.

also I’m trying to teach myself german.

I want to see Viktor participating in business courses at some college and being taken under the wing of like a 3rd year business major who introduces him to the mba students and the cool business upperclassmen and then helps him get ‘connections’ the way the others in the group has.

aka I want to see Viktor lowkey being inducted into the organized crime group being run by the upperclassmen and that’s why he can set this all up. he’s connected to powerful people and he uses those connections exclusively for skating purposes and to get yuuri into tourist places he wants to go that would typically be booked months in advance or closed to the public.

canonically I suspect Viktor got exactly as much formal schooling as the law required of him, and then a few years later he had the major injury canon implies he had, and (partly because he was bored to tears while banned from the ice) he started studying accounting and business management and possibly audited theater-major-offstage-role type classes

like, we know he can make ice shows appear out of nowhere in under a week, I don't think he picked that up just by skating in ice shows

granted Onsen on Ice was a bitty ice show, and probably everyone who was working it was a local who Yuuko and Takeshi already knew had the requisite skills, but still

makes me CRAZY how well atla illustrates all the different ways countries can be affected by colonization and imperialism…the air nomads wiped out in a relatively brief military campaign. the southern water tribe slowly worn down and violated over the course of decades. the northern water tribe completely isolating and turning to strict tradition in the face of a horrifying enemy. the decentralized earth kingdom being affected in varying ways, with some areas completely untouched but terrified that they’ll be next, some areas in an uneasy peace with the fire nation in exchange for economic domination, and some areas completely taken over. and just the ways that these kind of interplay…like the trauma katara and sokka have as people who live relatively safe from invasion, but with the threat of another raid always on the horizon, terrified that the next one will wipe them out for good, is completely different from the trauma aang has, as someone who lost everything and didnt witness the brutality, only its aftermath, and that’s completely different from the trauma that suki has, with kyoshi out of the war but constantly training in preparation for an invasion, and thats completely different from the trauma haru has, as an earthbender in an actively occupied village. and theres so much more too like theres all these complex and nuanced situations and none are objectively better or worse than the other but it shows exactly how many tools imperialism uses to demoralize and defeat those its directed against
