me, reaching into my dresser drawer for black pants: I hope this isn’t the pair with big holes worn in the inner thighs
Marie Kondo, gently over my shoulder: why is a pair of pants you find unwearable still in your dresser drawer
me: oh shit that’s right!! The dresser is for clothes that under some circumstance I might conceivably wear!!
Marie Kondo, beaming proudly: Yes, that’s correct!! These pants must have been your favorites. How wonderful that they were so comfortable and practical that you wore them out. But now since they no longer function as pants, you should move them from the drawer where you keep your functioning pants!
me: Yes thanks I got it they’re in the fabric basket now
Marie Kondo, fading back into the darkness: I love what you’ve done with the kitchen!!

Just reblogging this again because this what we mainly use in my University Japanese class. We have the two books as well but you need the online resource or a Japanese speaker to understand the physical copy because both books are only Japanese with Romanji and little to no English.
It’s a great resource that’s easy to understand and provides a course for you to follow rather than being lost and trying to study on your own. Here’s the grammar part of the site if you have all the vocabulary and nowhere to put it.
What’s the website for your online Japanese course •^• ?
@uzega
Marugoto Online! It’s a series of courses put together by the Japan Foundation to promote the exchange of Japanese language and culture!
You can sign up for free, here!
The courses are pretty similar to any online class for hs or uni. I quite like it, it’s simple and definitely absolute-upper beginner friendly.
You usually have 6ish months to finish lessons and take a small exam at the end. They even give you a certificate lol~
My only con is that there isn’t enough kanji usage, other than that it’s a nice resource! You can also take it in multiple languages aside from English

Learn those VERBS!
Tumblr media
Are you really just gonna point to stuff and call then out in a different language or are you going to use them? You can’t do anything when you don’t know how to DO. You can learn them conjugations and irregulars later. You can describe in other ways of what things are but are you going to run in place cause you didn’t learn correr? How you gonna LEARN when you don’t know the word LEARN?
