I hate when yall write the same kind of personality for self insert fics.

I don’t want to keep seeing the same easily flustered, no backbone, cries a lot Y/N. Here are some versions that I think would work better for each character.

Sweetheart Y/N: Caretaker, blushy, scolds character for not taking care of themselves. Best for slice of life AU’s or as a quirkless character. [Midoriya, Hawks, Dabi, Toshinori, Aizawa]

Goofball Y/N: Silly, playfully sarcastic, best friend type, takes nothing seriously. [Bakugou, Shigaraki, Todoroki, Aizawa]

Bitchy/Bratty Y/N: Tackless, competitive, well meaning, emotionally constipated. [Kirishima, Iida, Midoriya, Bakugou, Sero]

Bestie/Sacrificial Y/N: Fun, overly understanding, forgiving, compassionate, competitive. Best for angst and/or character development. [Dabi, Shigaraki, Bakugou, Aizawa, Hawks.]

Hii! I saw your characterization of bakugo and the post about platonic ships and I got curious as to what you think about monoma.

Mainly bc I see a lot of people say that monoma is pretty much what fanon bakugo is in canon. (I agree but wanna see ur point of view too) Since even tho he is kind of an ass he has reason for it and it's mostly because bakugo and misinformation, class 1-a got caught in the crosshairs. He's still very cooperative with his class and cares about them. In the sports festival he's also very intuitive and observant about the others. And because he's faced discrimination because of his quirk he isn't afraid to welcome shinso with open arms. He's also very caring towards Eri even tho she's scared of him at first he still tries to help and even stops her from having to look at the chaos that's going on with midoriya in the in the latest season.

(He also has a lot of development in the manga too but this is already long enough)

Okay the thing about Monoma— I cannot stand him lmao

He’s one of those characters that I cannot stand when he’s on screen but I snort every time I see him, without fail. Lmao

I might do a Characterizing Characters on him at some point. I don’t know about the fanon vs canon debate but I do believe he became what Bakugou was initially going to be.

I also think that Bakugou and Monoma are true rivals, we’re supposed to consider Midoriya and Bakugou rivals but I feel like they’re more buddies with trauma than rivals.

Bakugou and Monoma legitimately cannot stand each other and if we had more scenes with them together I think it’d be a pretty neat “cool arrogance vs hot arrogance” dynamic.

He’s been shown to be a sweet kid but something about class 1-A brings the heathen out of him idk lol

Firstly, this is just how I format my posts, like all of them regarding fics. And I post things like this because I regularly have fic writers inboxing me asking how they can flesh out their work and characters. Which is why I started my fic writing series.

Obviously if you don’t need help with your writing, then let it be, my post are for those who do.

In terms of funny/nonsensical habits, I HC Izuku being a sleep talker. That boy is always muttering to himself. Even in his sleep his brain does NOT shut off. He’s actually the worst person to share a dorm/bunk/tent with if you can’t sleep in noise

Idk how I’m just now seeing this but this is so funny to me.

I have this different (platonic) ships I have and was wondering about your thoughts on them since you really know the characters! I don't like shipping non-compatible characters so your thoughts on if they'll get along or not would really help!

The platonic ships are:

Baku&Camie (I feel like he would put up with her slang bc of dealing with Denki)

Melissa&Deku (They would totally [and did] geek out on tech/quirks)

Baku&Ocha (He already acknowledges her strength)

Kiri&Tamaki (They already work together with FG so I like to imagine Kiri begging Tamaki to spar with him)

Momo&Iida (With being Class president and vice, I feel like they would hang out a lot and develop a friendship that way)

Sero&Todoroki (Todoroki is pretty dense romantically and I think the same applies platonically, but Sero probably approached him after the sports festival because he found him interesting)

Mina&Jirou (Mina helps with Jirou's style and Jirou teaches Mina an instrument [I like to imagine the uke, but maybe something else would suit her better-])

Anyways! These were just some of my platonic thoughts because I've noticed how crazy the fandom is with romance and thought why not mix it up a lil with asking your opinion on them!

So I love these! I’m big on platonic ships.

But here’s the thing,

Bakugou is friends with all the girls (whether he’d admit it or not). Canonically, he gets along with them because they simply do not care about his little attitude issue. My favorite platonic Bakugou pairing is him + anyone in the rich kid club. (Momo, Iida, Todoroki, & Jirou)

Melissa and Izuku but also Monoma (If he can figure out how to stop being a dirt bag). I feel like they all geek out about quirks, especially Monoma because he wants to try them.

Kirishima and Tamaki are already sweet on each other. They both push each other to be better and Kirishima likes to take him on little introvert adventures to make him feel good. (Book cafes, walks, etc)

Momo and Iida, I feel like they get along outside of school very well, but often they’re together for things like press conferences and business meeting, same with Bakugou and Todoroki.

Todoroki and Sero are friends, but I think there’s a very specific dynamic they have. Tired friend + Snarky friend.

Jirou and Mina are BESTIES. Typical yapper+listener friendship. Can be very messy with gossip lol. They are normally who plan dorm activities (movie night, game night, birthday parties, etc). The equal opposite to their friendship is Kirishima and Kaminari.

Sero and Ojiro are best guy friends, they can talk about just calm, normal things. Low energy pals.
