Glass Gem is a unique strain of corn with kernels that look like pieces of rainbow-colored glass. Source

Carl Barnes, an Oklahoma farmer, started growing older corn varieties to connect with his Cherokee heritage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He isolated ancestral strains Native American tribes lost in the 1800s when they were relocated to Oklahoma.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Soon he began exchanging ancient corn seed with growers from all over the country, while simultaneously saving and replanting seeds from the most colorful cobs.
Tumblr media
This eventually resulted in rainbow-colored corn.
Tumblr media
When the rainbow corn mixed with the traditional varieties it created new strains, displaying more vibrant colors and patterns over time.

Glass Gem is a flint corn, so it isn’t really eaten off the cob. It’s usually ground into cornmeal and used in tortillas or grits, but it can also be used to make popcorn.

If you love corn and rainbows, seeds can be purchased online for about $7.95.

The Earth Signs - Flower Fairies Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn
The earth signs are shadow dwellers, nocturnal, and guarded by Mother Earth. Three flower fairies dance in synchronistic unison, a tribute to the rhythm of the seasons. Like ancient witches, the earth signs become intimate with nature and its properties. They are in tune with minerals, medicines, and potions. The earth signs have vines wrapping around the mind, typically blooming later in life, displaying the resilience and the beauty of nature itself. Taurus is the petal princess, frolicking with the love and musical creativity of Aphrodite. Virgo nurtures the flower seeds, routinely serving God in service, preparing for astounding spiritual bloom. And Capricorn orchestrates the natural law, upholding the responsibility for all creatures great and small. The earth signs support life and uphold the foundation to which the whole zodiac can ascend from.
Flower crowns were donned by angels the day Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn were born, a testament to their natural beauty. Taurus is the heiress of the Kingdom of Nature, possessing the creative fertility of Mother Earth, giving form to art and essence. Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of love. But the love of Taurus grows deeper than interpersonal relationships. The love of Taurus radiates throughout all of earth and its allure. This is why Taureans love to take vacations to relaxing, even remote locations. It’s so they can hear with all sensual grace the crashing of waves, the song of wind, the rustle of trees. This is existence to Taurus. And they are energized by material, often envisioning creative design with fabric, construction, and artistry. Virgo’s hands are glossed in heavenly gold, and they hold the precious orb of all life, nurturing the Christ Child inside. One of the earth’s most reverent tasks was left to the Virgo, the Divine Mother. She walks on the fresh grass, dipping her toes in the water, waiting for the call to dive, so the fishes of Pisces can rise from her. Virgo is where soul meets body, as the sand and sea of the earth reunites again with spirit, revealing the mastery of godly design and detail.
Capricorn awakens a sign of mystery, an enigmatic unicorn heading one direction - forward. Capricorn is the guide and guardian of all the land, containing the knowledge of all seasons, processes, and laws. The full flower of all cosmic life comes into form through the hands of Capricorn, sculpted with the lines of the alchemist. Capricorn is confronted with routine crises, like still days followed by vicious hurricanes. She can battle these alone, on behalf of humanity, undertaking major tests to retain her flower crown. The earth signs are always preparing for a hurricane. And they can be very intuitive with weather patterns and howls from the earth, typically reflecting in their great concern for ecology and environmental protection. The earth signs inherit protection of nature, growing daisies in their hearts, worshiping the sun, and bathing in balmy air, frolicking in blossom skirts, surviving in the wild, aloe bleached, sun kissed earth child.

"Straight couples shouldn't be at pride"
Well uh…
1.) one or both of people you see as a “straight couple” could be pan/bi/poly/ace
2.) one or both of them could be trans or non binary
3.) you could be misgendering someone

Exercise: Exploring New Ways of Being in Relationships
Let’s create a profile of emotional maturity that you can work towards. The following lists present a picture of how an emotionally mature person might interact and behave in relationships. Read through the following lists of new behaviours, beliefs and values and choose a few to practice. Just pick one or two at a time, and be gentle with yourself as you work on them. Some might be harder than others.
Being Willing to Ask for Help:
I’ll ask for help whenever I need to.
I’ll remind myself that if I need something, most people will be glad to help if they can.
I’ll use clear, intimate communication to ask for what I want, explaining my feelings and the reasons for my request.
I’ll trust that most people will listen if I ask them to.
Being Myself, Whether People Accept Me or Not:
When I state my thoughts clearly and politely, without malice, I won’t try to control how people take it.
I won’t give more energy than I really have.
Instead of trying to please, I’ll give other people a true indication of how I feel.
I won’t volunteer for something if I think I’ll resent it later.
If someone says something I find offensive, I’ll offer an alternative viewpoint. I won’t try to change the other person’s mind; I just won’t let the statement go unremarked upon.
Sustaining and Appreciating Emotional Connections:
I’ll make a point of keeping in touch with special people I care about and returning their calls or emotional messages.
I’ll think of myself as a strong person who deserves to give and receive help from my community of friends.
Even when people aren’t saying the “right” thing, I’ll tune in to whether they’re trying to help me. If their effort makes me feel emotionally nurtured, I’ll express my gratitude.
When I’m irritated with someone, I’ll think about what I want to say that could improve our relationship. I’ll wait until I cool off and then ask if the other person is willing to listen to my feelings.
Having Reasonable Expectations for Myself:
I’ll keep in mind that being perfect isn’t always necessary. I’ll get stuff done rather than obsess over getting things done perfectly.
When I get tired, I’ll rest or do something different. My level of physical energy will tell me when I’ve been doing too much. I won’t wait for an accident or illness to make me stop.
When I make a mistake, I’ll chalk it up to being human. Even if I think I’ve anticipated everything, there will be outcomes I don’t expect.
I’ll remember that everyone is responsible for their own feelings and for expressing their needs clearly. Beyond common courtesy, it isn’t up to me to guess what others want.
Communicating Clearly and Actively Seeking the Outcomes I Want:
I won’t expect people to know what I need unless I tell them. Caring about me doesn’t mean they automatically know what I’m feeling.
If people close to me upset me, I’ll use my pain to identify my underlying need. Then I’ll use clear, intimate communication to provide guidance on how they could give it to me.
When my feelings are hurt, I’ll try to understand my reaction first. Did something trigger feelings from my past, or did the person really treat me insensitively? If someone was insensitive, I’ll ask him or her to hear me out.
I’ll be thoughtful to other people, and if they aren’t thoughtful in return, I’ll ask them to be more considerate and then let it go.
I’ll ask for something as many times as it takes to get a clear answer.
When I get tired of interacting, I’ll politely speak up, asking if we can continue our contact at another time. I’ll explain kindly that I’m just out of gas at the moment.

Take a break
Reduce Your Anxiety
Follow these steps when you notice your anxiety starting up:
1. Take a deep breath.
Breathe in slowly through your nose, then slowly out your mouth. After breathing in, count to 3 before breathing out.
2. Accept that you’re anxious.
Acceptance is critical because trying to wrangle or eliminate anxiety often worsens it. It just perpetuates the idea that your anxiety is intolerable..
But accepting your anxiety doesn’t mean liking it or resigning yourself to a miserable existence.
3. Realize that your brain is playing tricks on you.
Is this worry realistic?
Is this really likely to happen?
If the worst possible outcome happens, what would be so bad about that?
Could I handle that?
What might I do?
If something bad happens, what might that mean about me?
Is this really true or does it just seem that way?
What might I do to prepare for whatever may happen?”
5. Use a calming visualization.
Picture yourself in a place that creates comfort for you. This could be somewhere in your home, the beach, a park. Focus on your five senses while imagining yourself in that place.
6. Use positive self-talk.
Anxiety can produce a lot of negative chatter. Tell yourself that this anxiety is manageable and you can fix it. Tell yourself that you’re strong and you’re in control of your thoughts so you can change them.
7. Focus on right now.
When people are anxious, they are usually obsessing about something that might occur in the future. Instead, pause, breathe and pay attention to what’s happening right now. Even if something serious is happening, focusing on the present moment will improve your ability to manage the situation.
8. Focus on meaningful activities.
When you’re feeling anxious, it’s also helpful to focus your attention on a “meaningful, goal-directed activity.“ If you were going to see a movie, still go. If you were going to do the laundry, still do it.The worst thing you can do when anxious is to passively sit around obsessing about how you feel.
The bottom line is, get busy with the business of life. Don’t sit around focusing on being anxious, nothing good will come of that.
