Like, what do I need to do to catch a damn break?

As some of you know, I had my right wrist repaired 6 months ago, and everything is good. Clean bill of health, back to work full time, back to working out full time, back to LIFE in general.

Then, I go hiking.

Three weeks ago I biffed it on a hike, landed wrong, smacked my left elbow and dislocated the shoulder I had repaired 21 years ago.

Like wtf, T? Learn to walk, girl.

So I go to the doc's because I'm a grown up and this is what we do, and she has a look and says, meh, I think it looks okay, but let's take an x-ray just to be sure and send you back to the sports therapist who looked after your wrist.

Great, fine, a little physio and I'm right as rain, right?

Wrong.

X-ray is a hot mess, and long story short, part of my humerus may be dead.

Yup. Dead.

I have an urgent CT booked for next week, and then follow ups with a surgeon if needed. If I have to have surgery, they have to do a bone graft from my hip.

If I was a horse, I would have been shot by now.

Brock was gone. 

It was hard to grasp at first once the adrenaline of that night had worn off. You were free now, safe, at last ready to move on with your life without having to be afraid any longer . Being able to go out alone felt amazing but you still kept the taser in your purse and you still looked over your shoulder as you walked the streets. Old habits died hard and even though the reason for your fear was no longer there the fear itself wasn’t so easy to get rid of.
