• 𝙍𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 •

𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 - Your Eternal Lies:

I have been blown away. I did not imagine that I would be swept off my feet and taken on a ride filled with emotion in this wistful and bittersweet story - Your Eternal Lies.

I honestly don’t know where to start and in its entirety I don’t want to share too much. Within its 80 chapters it has woven such a beautiful story and brought us well thought out characters I will not forget. Rosen Walker and Ian Conner. The Infamous Criminal and the War Hero. As they head to the Isle of Monte, a prison which awaits death, we learn of their story - what they have gone through, where it has brought them and who they’ve become. And just as we learn more, it is only the tip of the iceberg in what we are about to witness.

The art in this manhwa is just breath-taking - specifically it’s paneling. The rhythm and momentum of the story is just done so well. I binged this manhwa in one night, lost in its story and characters. There are moments you can vividly feel and see their emotions and moments where you gain an understanding of them. And at certain times I can feel the atmosphere and this sense of longing and loss. Which just leads me into the writing.

The words that have been spun and knitted into the dialogue and narration are just great. Combined with the art and good paneling just leads to a story I could not look away from. It brought us these complex, broken, resilient, and gray characters. Honestly, I have no idea what I am saying but throughout the entire story I was completely hooked - and often feeling conflicting emotions due to their situation. The Criminal and Hero - and their thoughts. "A murderer who deliberately took one life - versus a murderer that unwillingly took 15,623 - if the weight of our sins could be measure and compared, who would be deemed worse" (ch 13).

The story felt like an amazing slow burn, despite it having only 80 chapters - im still in shock with what the author/artist has done - to be honest, so many recent manhwas struggle to make this happen TT. Overall, this manhwa was amazing and extremely enjoyable to read and look at. I am still thinking about many moments in the manhwa (both words and certain panels). Some, I could imagine straight out of a movie - just replaying in my head. Not only that, but in its entirety the story has been constructed and closed to its end in such a beautiful way. I feel absolute satisfaction - and a bit of loss (I can’t believe I read it in one night, and now i'm finished). I am pretty sure this manhwa is not perfect, just like many stories - and upon closer inspection it may not be. However, the emotions I received, the story, art, and dimensional characters were all wonderful. I was not expecting to write much on this manhwa. After all, when I first picked it up I had no idea what I was getting into. I thought I would complete it in silence, as this would be ‘like any other story’. However, I was wrong - I ended up writing something for many of the chapters, screen capturing many scenes (wishing I could do more), and quoting thoughts/dialogue.

‘Your Eternal Lies’ was a phenomenal read. and I wish them eternal happiness - they will be missed TT <3

Got my first physical copy of a manga ~ (ﾉ≧∇≦)ﾉ

"I Had That Same Dream Again" - Yoru Sumino

Thoughts:

Reading through this manga was a breath of fresh air. The story gave me a lot to think about and filled me with awe and wonder. This was written by the same author as "I want to eat your pancreas." I believe it was because of the state of mind and what I was going through in my current life that when I read this manga it hit me harder than it might of hit me if I was in a happier state. Reading this gave me things to think about and how I should think of happiness. The story follows a young girl who's cheeky and is quite intelligent and knows it herself, and her pursuit in finding the meaning of happiness. Through this we follow her as she meets and converses with people of different ages, and I would just like to mention I love how much she grows aagghhh. The manga made me chuckle, motivated, have realizations, feel sadness, and many other emotions, it just really hit me. I don't want to say too much because I want you to experience the manga yourself (also because I don't know what to say). Goodness gracious I don't have much to say except for the fact that I felt a ride of emotions when reading this and learned so much. This manga holds a place in my heart. Give this manga read ~ (I still have to reread this now that I have a physical copy, and get my thoughts straight haha)

CH 52 - Spoilers

Nonononono. No. I can't believe this is all happening right now. I'm shocked, scared, and horribly sad. Jaemin just remembered something he said about his brother before his brother died, while he was talking to the girl his brother loved. When Jaemin was younger and was with Seon-Hui (red short haired girl) she was talking about how she didn't like her brother and said that sometimes she wished her brother would disappear and he agreed that he wished that too sometimes. HE AGREED. I feel really bad that he felt this way, because his reasoning was since his brother had all the expectation, and he had none, it felt as though he wasn't loved/cared about, and I can understand that😭. However, Jaemin never knew that his brother asked this of his parents and took all the burdens and expectations off of Jaemin so he could be free with no high/suffocating expectations from his family. Then we see a scene where Seon-Hui (the girl) sees a teen boy that looks tall, skinny, blonde... run away. I believe it's the brother. THE BROTHER. Jaemin's brother HEARD what he said 😭, he heard that he wished that he would disappear😭!!! It makes it all the worse because during this time he hit his breaking point, he kept himself from the one he loved and his only source of freedom, So-mang, he didn't do things he loved or wanted to try, he had no real friends, he wasn't with his younger brother often (Jaemin) so he could focus on studies, his parents were pushing him to study harder since his grades dropped, and right then he hit his breaking point, after the little brother he loves, made him feel free and did everything for said he wished he disappeared😭😭😭💔. Now that Jaemin remembers what happened he went to Seon-Hui to ask her if the uniform the boy was wearing was theirs, if so, he's do going to be flooded with guilt and think the reason his brother died was because of him. I DONT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. THEY ALL NEED TO HAPPY NOW. I can't bear to see Jaemin filled with guilt, which will also cause Seon-Hui to also feel extremely guilty. They won't be able to be happy, along with the fact that Seon-Hui likes Jaemin and she won't confess because of what happened in the past. This story is so heart-breaking and messing with my emotions. I was never expecting "Seasons of Blossom" to be so sad and complex💔😭
