I hate how hard it is to watch something new. I doubt if I have the energy, the time, the ability to commit. What if it’s not what I hope, what I’ve built it up to be? If I don’t like it at all. Yet I don’t like being stuck in the same cycle of old films I’ve seen before. Don’t get me wrong, a comfort movie , a rewatch, is great sometimes. But other times I find myself wanting a new experience.
But I fear my attention span is drifting and my ability to appreciate new films is struggling because I live in a world of constant “content” everything is quick and instant gratification. You don’t have to focus you don’t have to learn. And if I rewatch a show I don’t have a new experience but I already know I’ll enjoy it. Like a fan fiction where I know the characters, and the premise, and the tags tell me what’s coming. I don’t have to take the time to meet the characters and learn the rules of the world, all the while deciding if I like it or not. It makes me sad that I need to find mental energy to try new films, so instead I sit on the couch with the steaming service open but no movie selected for hours until I just go to bed.

88% of people who take French in high school become addicted to Les Mis in some form or the other. The musical, book or the movie (or the musical movie)
This is pure science.

One thing I like doing when I practice a language is trying to bake or cook from the recipes in my target language! Here, you can find many recipes:
meny.no
matprat.no
godt.no
I also try to watch some random vloggers and listen to some music!
Here, you can find the playlist I made for Norwegian on Spotify
Hope this is helpful! If you ever want to practice or chat, I'm always here! 💌

Passive Voice will be the death of me. I get it, I am a passive little bitch. Let me write the way I want to write. Enjoy the vibes of my research, do not worry about the way I write it. View it as an experience for the both of us.

cosette was really THAT girl—rich, mysterious, always wearing black. she was “that girl behind the gate.” she heard a stranger insult her and went “we’ll see about that.” she became the most beautiful and well-dressed woman in all of paris. she took one look at that gorgeous boy at the luxembourg gardens, a boy who had once found her boring, and got him to worship the ground she walked on. when he was jealous and blamed her, she just thought “and what’s his problem?” the first time she met him, she wore her best low-cut gown. “no, monsieur, you’re not allowed to sneeze, because I would be sad if you were sick.” she did this all behind her father’s back. she told both her husband and father to include her in their conversation because why are men so dramatic? and “no, papa, you’re not going to die, I won’t allow it.” so for all that cosette is soft and angelic, don’t forget what her chapter is titled—“the rose perceives that it is an engine of war.”

The modern academia vibe is listening to “Gimme, Gimme, Gimme” by ABBA on repeat at 3:00 am while working on serious research. Sure Dark Academia is a fun aesthetic, but in reality i’m just blasting ABBA and trying to force myself to work instead of lose my mind
