Hi, yoonia! I have been wondering how to make fanfic banners like the ones with member’s pics in them? Like do you use Photoshop? Can you do a tutorial or something? Because those banners be looking fine asf!

Also, a small request, cna you also do a tutorial on how to make the header image like yours is, it's a gif, but with yoonkook’s picture in it? How do you do that? Looks pretty as fuck! I wanna learn how to do that! And your header image is so pretty, may i ask where did you find the background picture, the black, purple one? It’s very pretty!

Hello! First and formost, I’m sorry for the late reply, I haven’t been well lately, but your message is so kind, so thank you so much for making me smile! Yes, I do use Photoshop to create my fic banners. 

I actually learned my way around it based on this wonderful tutorial shared by @eerieedits. I followed the steps in the tutorial to learn my basics before adding my own touch for my banners. The tutorial is really easy to follow, and there are resources links added to help you find anything you need, so I’m sure everything that has been added in the post can help you to learn the basics :)

For my fic banners specifically, the steps I take to create them usually goes like this:

step 1. choose the background that would fit the story (I usually find the background photos from unsplash) step 2. pick the member(s) photo that I want to use. As for the member photos, I usually delete the background and change them into blank png either manually (with photoshop) or use this website to help me step 3. add other key elements that represent the story (the picture below may explain more about this part) step 4. adjust hue/saturation/colouring according to the theme I want — you can find steps by steps to do this on the post linked above too step 5. add text  step 6. final touch: I usually add png overlay to give a more dramatic effect and a noir look (that isn’t fully noir lol)

For these banners on my blog, I used the same steps to create them together: 

First, I got the black-purple background from unsplash. A little tip, If you want to try to find similar images with these sparks of colours, use “[colour] background” on the search bar provided in the site. I had to go through a bunch of scrolling before choosing this one and I had to tweak the original picture a bit before I got the final look. 

Minor adjustment on the background photo: added a copy of the background photo as a second layer over the original/background photo, add multiply effect on the second layer, arranged it with 50% opacity to make it darker without losing the details of the purple sparks.

For the rest of the steps, I followed the same steps as mentioned and shown above. Only difference that I made was switch the png overlay with gif overlay. I used star.gif from eerieedits’ resource/collection.

[grimaces] I am really good at dialogue! And complex choreographed scenes (sex, fighting, body language, blocking) aren't absolute hell for me to write, for some reason, which I'm given to understand most writers struggle with. I love them. It might have something to do with how I see everything happening more like a movie.

It changes a lot with character voice. I try really hard to match the voices of the character's POV, so I have to get good at different voices really fast with each new hyperfixation, lmao.

I keep being torn about wanting to find people to talk about The Owl House with, and wanting to stay buried in my hole of anonymity because that fandom sounds like a trash fire. But I'm disconcertingly in love with all the fucked-up characters that they introduced and then gave rapid character development to so that I didn't get nearly enough of them being grasping wrecks that I could put into pringles cans and shake. So. Have a story concept where I basically tip pre-character-development Amity, Hunter, and Willow into a big jar and then pound on the glass.

Willow leaned on the wall outside the throne room, staring at her shoes, waiting to be called and introduced. It was like the first day of school, only much, much worse. She swallowed, hard, willing her stomach to settle down. At least at school, there were familiar faces, however unfriendly. Here, she had nothing and no one; under the vaulted golden ceilings, she’d never felt more alone in her life.

Her head whipped up at a noise, on the jump. Relief rushed her- the one familiar thing in the whole world was that golden mask, and the boy behind it. “Hi,” she said, barely more than a whisper, as the tall silhouette of the Emperor's Golden Guard strode past in the crossing hallway. He was probably too far away to hear it, but that was fine. He’d be in there when she entered, and she could look up and find him.

Improbably, he stopped, the mask coming to face her with a blank stare. He carried his staff slung over one shoulder, almost casually; why would he carry that around in what was basically his house? The gold mask was a little unnerving, but Willow looked right into the slitted eyes and waved anyways.

Checking over his shoulder, he turned, coming over to her. When he was sure no one was looking, he tipped the mask up, resting it under the cowl so she could see his face. Pale and angular, with serious eyes, he checked her over with a concern so intense it felt like anger.

“Are you okay?” The question was more of a demand.

Willow tried to make herself smile, and failed. “I feel like I’m gonna throw up,” she admitted.

Hunter’s face softened, and he bit his lip. “Yeah,” he said, fiddling with his hands. “I get that, too. You don’t. Uh... usually.”

“Thanks,” she said dryly. “That helps.”

He wrinkled his nose at her. “Just remember,” he said like a lecture, “Walk like you’re better than everybody in that room.”

“'Chin up, shoulders back,'” Willow quoted him from the flight here. “But- I don’t feel like I’m better than anybody.”

Hunter shrugged, the staff bobbing up and down on his shoulder. “Um. I- when it’s... hard. I like to, um. I try to look at somebody I do know I’m better than. And pretend they’re the only one there. So.” He smiled, sheepish, the gap in his teeth visible and making him look his age for a cheerful moment, and when she looked at him skeptically, he cast his eyes to the floor. “...Usually it’s Kikimora. She’s pretty pathetic.”

Startled into a huff of laughter, Willow glanced back to the huge, heavy doors. “I don’t know...” she said, her smile fading.

He tilted his head, contemplating. “The Blight girl’s in there. With Darius. You’re a lot less of a suck-up than she is, I can tell you that.”

Willow laughed, bitter and cold. She pictured Amity’s perfect snub-nosed face, looking down on her for years. Very cruel, and very... small. A girl who cried when her older siblings bullied her, but couldn't wait to turn around and needle somebody else in retaliation.

Yeah. Willow was better than that.

Hey! if your not comfortable then ignore this, but can you do dazai and/or chuuya with an s/o that dyes her hair a lot? i do it almost every week because i cant decide what color to pick, female reader if you can!

- Chuuya has no problem with your dyed hair, in fact it was one of the things that he found enticing about you

- If you see him often, he would be confused as to why you come with different hair each week. asked if it was a wig and tried pulling your hair🙁

- When you guys start dating, he would be slightly concerned about your hairs health knowing that bleach and dye can be damaging. once you tell him you take proper precautions to make sure your hair doesn't dry out, he asks if he can dye it for you once.

- Is like 😐 whenever he finds bright pink hair in the shower and you argue its not yours.

- I definitely see Chuuya as someone who's just good at hair, I headcanon that he was forced to braid Q and Elise's hair, so he has picked up a few tips.

- Helps you pick out colours and gives you advice. Makes his heart flutter if you do decide to choose the colours he chose.

- The first time he dyed your hair, he didn't know it would quickly become something he loved doing. Always offers to dye your hair whenever you do, just cause he sees it as a stress reliving, intimate moment with his lover.

- If you asked him, he would gladly match with you and dye a small strip of his hair. He would allow you to choose what section you want to dye.

- If someone at work were to make fun of it, he wouldn't get embarrassed or anything just annoyed that someone is indirectly making fun of one of your hobbies.

- Would most likely punch them (I would make fun of his hair just to get punched by him)
