word count - 3800
A/N - so this was an oops. I wrote this hella fast but i was in the zone and i am pretty happy with the emotionally devastating product. I promise it has a happy ending i just dont want to give too much away. I feel like for maximum emotional damage you need to be a little in the dark. anyway, forgive me
MASTERLIST
You were stood in the command center with your hands wringing together. No matter how many missions Poe went on, the waiting was always hell. How were you supposed to remain sane when the love of your life was out fighting a battle that he might not come back from. That you might never see him again. He always reassured you that he would always come back to you. That you never had anything to worry about. You tried to believe him, and for the most part you did, but that didn't prevent you from being worried when he was gone.
You listened through the coms, trying to keep track of what was happening during the battle. Leia let you stay in there because she had a soft spot for you, as well as the pilot you were worried about. You were thankful she let you listen in on every mission, it meant that you weren't alone worrying in the room you shared with Poe. The conversation over coms was rushed and loud, they were scared and that made your heart beat faster.
'I have to go through, they're gonna come after us if I don't.' You heard your fiance yell. Worry stuck in the pit of your stomach, he was going to take a risk, you could feel it.
'Poe, it's not worth it. We should get out of here while we still can'. You agreed, wanting him to get out of there as soon as possible. You prayed he would listen and just get out.
'I have to try, I can't go back knowing that they could be following us to base.'
'Poe wait-' You heard someone rush out before comotion ensued again. You could feel your heart in your throat. You could have cried. After a minute of listening to pure chaos, nobody in the control room dared to speak a word. Everyone was waiting for an indication of what to do from the squadron. You found yourself zoning out in your worry. You were only broken out of your trance when you heard your fiance's name.
'Poe is down.' You stopped breathing.
"Down? What do you mean down?" You heard Leia call over comms.
'I'm sorry commander, he got hit. His X-Wing engine got shot and he was heading to crash on the planet right below us, his coms died. There's no way to know if he made it through but I don't know many who could take that crash and live. We have to head out and hope he comes back to base but I wouldn't get my hopes up.'
"Get out of there while you still can. We will have to worry about Poe when we gather our strength." Leia responded and the squadron called their understanding before the process of bringing them home began. You hadn't moved. You weren't sure if you had breathed. Your body was fully numb. You could feel eyes on you as everyone waited for you to respond. To show some emotion of your boyfriend having just gone MIA. You couldn't feel yourself though, your fingertips were numb, and you refused to believe he was dead. He promised. He told you he would come home.
Your brain was split between trying to grieve for the loss of the love of your life and trusting that he would be back. That he had to come back because he promised he would and he never breaks a promise. You felt hands on you and you realized you had fallen to sit in your spot. Leia was above you and was ushering you to your feet. You mindlessly let her push you somewhere and you barely even looked to see where you were going.
Eventually you showed up at your apartment door. You couldn't tell whether it felt like it had been instantaneous or an eternity to get there. Leia unlocked your door and pushed you inside and to the small couch that was stood in the living room-like space. The apartments were all very small, Poe had one a little bigger because he was housing with another person and because of his rank. Still, the extra amenities included a small couch, a smaller kitchen, and a window along the bedroom wall. When Leia sat you on the couch she kneeled in front of you. Her hand went to your cheek and you looked at her for the first time since you'd heard Poe go down. She seemed to almost be in tears but your eyes were dry. You didn't feel anything.
"Y/N, what can I do?" She asked gently. "Do you need anything?" You felt yourself shake your head and open your mouth like you were going to talk but closed it again as you thought.
"He said... He said he was coming back." You stated as if it changed the situation. "He promised." You mumbled.
"I know, Y/N. I am so sorry." She tried to console and your head shook. "We don't know what happened after he went down. You heard the team. He might contact us in the next few days, he is a smart man and he knows how to get a message out. But I don't want it to hurt you more if he never does." She tries to reason and you shook your head.
"No, you don't understand. He promised, " your head was spinning, "he's coming back." You felt tears fall down your face. When had you started crying? "He promised me that he was coming back home." Your voice broke which surprised you. Before you knew it you were crying into Leia's arms and you couldn't stop yourself. That was how you stayed with her for a while after, you weren't sure how long. She shed some tears of her own but eventually you both ran dry. You lost feeling again and you couldn't tell if it was better or worse. You made a decision. You wouldn't grieve over him until you were sure he was not coming back. You wouldn't mourn until you were sure.
The alternative was not, however, to recover. Instead you just stopped doing anything at all. You stopped eating, taking care of yourself, caring. Soon, your friends came in to talk to you. Instead of it being conversation though, they just talked at you. You couldn't bring yourself to respond or really even listen. Or maybe you did but you just couldn't remember. They would periodically come through to help you into a shower in which you just let the water run over you while someone else, you thought maybe Rey but you couldn't even recall, washed your hair. You drank water when they asked and would take a bite of food if they begged but other than that you might as well have been dead to the world. You almost hadn't realized how much of a vital part to your existence Poe was. How little you could bring yourself to do without him. You had thought you were prepared to be separated, you were in the middle of a war after all. Instead it was impossible to do anything without him and you wondered how long you could keep doing it.
This went on for a week. That was how long it took for them to declare him 'killed in action'. They felt that, if he was alive, he would have found a way to contact the base with the help of BB8 and local lifeforms. That was when you allowed yourself to grieve. The numbness turned into pain and it was a million times worse. You would have given anything to go back to numb.
You finally listened to your friends when they talked to you but their consolations did nothing to put you at ease. You still struggled to do anything but you complied with their pleads. You had been convinced, 2 weeks after the KIA announcement, to go to the canteen. To see people and interact. Finn pulled you along with an attempt at a smile on his face. Your face was blank but you tried to soften your eyes. You knew he was trying to help and he was grieving the loss of his best friend as well. When you were pulled into the large cafeteria, all noise ceased. You knew that they were looking at you and you guessed that they pitied you. You had seen yourself in the mirror that morning and you would have pitied you too. You got pulled to a table and Finn went to go get you and himself food.
People periodically came by and said hello or asked how you were as you tried to eat something. You responded with one word answers usually and you hadn't met anyone's eyes. You could feel yourself getting overwhelmed and decided you would head back to your room. You quietly thanked Finn for trying and left to the hallway.
Suddenly, alarms sounded. You were startled into awareness and people began running past you.
'ALL EMERGENCY CREW TO FLIGHT DECK'
You were curious about the alarm but you weren't emergency crew and you knew they didn't need any more bodies there than would already be there. That was until you heard someone as they rushed by as they talked to the medic next to them.
"Yeah I heard it was him but he went missing weeks ago." They sounded confused and continued jogging toward the flight deck. You feet started moving before you could even process it and it was the fastest you'd moved since he had gone missing. Since he had died.
When you got to the flight deck there was already a crowd. You could see over the see a people a beat up X-Wing. You thought you might have heard a droid. You elbowed your way to the front of the crowd, not apologizing when people grumbled their frustrations at you. When you made it to the front you were stood no more than 50 feet from him. He was soot covered and beat up but he was standing as he tried to wiggle out of the grasp of the medics. BB8 beeped and turned, spotting you. He made a loud excited noise and rushed to roll over to you and Poe turned at the sound. When he met your gaze he smiled.
You felt your knees give out and tears start to fall from your eyes. Your arms crossed over your stomach and you started to curl into a ball over your knees. A sob left you and suddenly large warm hands were on your shoulders.
"Y/N? My love, are you okay?" He rushed out, checking over you for injury as the medics still grumbled about needing to see him. His hand came under your chin to move your face so he was making eye contact with you. You let out another sob before grabbing his vest and pulling him into you, he kneeled to the ground as you clung to him and cried into his chest. He moved himself so he was sitting on the ground and he pulled you into his lap. You felt his hands on your back trying to soothe you but you couldn't stop crying. "I'm back. I'm so sorry I was gone but I'm back." He mumbled out as he kissed your head a few times.
"I'm so angry at you." You whispered and he almost laughed, just happy to hear your voice. You finally pulled your head out of his chest and kissed him like your life depended on it, like it was the last time you would ever see him. You pulled away so you were looking into his eyes. "Please don't leave me," you begged almost silently. You weren't even sure if he could hear you. "Please don't leave again."
"I'm not leaving, baby, I promise." He tried to calm you. "I'm right here. I'm okay."
You nodded, trying to convince yourself that he was real and he was here. You kissed him again just to check. You pulled away again, still trying to convince yourself.
"You died." You struggled out and Poe felt tears in his eyes as well. "You were dead, you crashed and you didn't make it and then they said you were gone." You said like that was what happened.
"I didn't die, my love. I'm right here. I'm alive, I'm okay." Poe pleaded and he grabbed your hand, bringing it up to his face so you could feel him. Your hand moved along is jaw which was now covered in stubble and grime. Your head shook like you were disagreeing with him but you were simply in disbelief.
"I love you" You mumbled as your eyes traced the lines of his face and tears fell from your eyes. He let a few tears fall as well before pressing meaningful kisses to every part of your face that he could reach.
You spent the next 2 hours like that. You wouldn't leave his hold and he didn't try to move you. The medics worked around you and everyone greeted him without disturbing you. You stayed, on his lap, curled into his chest. Your breathing had slowed to a normal pace and you were holding onto his vest tightly. Eventually, he had to be debriefed. He petted your hair and cooed at you to catch your attention.
"Y/N, my love," he whispered, "we have to get up now." He felt you nod but you made no move to get up from him. He took a breath before moving you off of his lap as you whined, standing up, and then picking you up so you could wrap yourself around him. You hummed contentedly into his chest and he had a smile on his face as he walked through the base.
"I love you." You whispered again into his chest. You had been doing it periodically every so often in the last 2 hours and every time Poe would repeat it back to you, kiss your head, or say something else. This time he chose to kiss your head.
"Baby, I have to go to the debriefing now and you know you can't come with me." He tried to say gently but he knew this separation might be hard for both of you. "I'm gonna put you down." He warned before encouraging your legs to go to the floor. You listened but didn't release his neck which you were also clung to. His hands fell to your waist and you both stood for a moment with your heads in each others necks and breathing deeply. "I'm gonna hand you off to Rey, okay?" He asked as he flagged down Rey from the hallway.
"Okay." You whispered, still not releasing him.
"Hey, Rey, sorry to bother you but could you keep Y/N company for a few minutes while I talk to Leia and the squadron?"
"Oh of course!" Rey chirped and you took a deep breath before releasing Poe. You let him kiss your cheeks and your nose before he walked the other direction toward the command center. You stared at him until Rey put her hand in yours and clasped it. You turned to look at her and for the first time in weeks, she saw you smile. "I'm so happy for you, Y/N." She assured and you believed her.
"Thank you." You whispered and another tear fell from you, this time of joy and happiness. Not grief.
"What do you say to heading to your room and get cleaned up a bit, yeah?" She tried and you nodded, following where her hand lead with one last glance toward the direction that Poe went.
"-the converter didnt even work until a day ago because the main power source broke down." Poe finished explaining his time on the planet he had crashed on and the rest of the squadron nodded and asked a few more questions. Once he was done, Finn met him outside the command center.
"So-" he paused, "I'm not sure how to say this nicely but most of your stuff went into the redistribution center because you were presumed dead." He rushed out. Poe took a moment to process and nodded.
"Well that's sort of a bummer. Could I borrow some of your stuff?" Poe asked, knowing it would take at least a day for him to get reassigned sets of uniforms.
"Yeah of course, that's why I'm standing here waiting for you. You could get cleaned up in my room too if you want. I know Y/N kept a few of your jackets and shirts but most of it got taken." The boys began to walk toward Finn's living quarters and there was a moment of silence before Poe asked something he wasn't sure he wanted the answer to.
"What happened when I was gone?" His throat felt dry suddenly and his words came out hoarse. "To Y/N I mean. Was she okay?" Poe wasn't sure what answer he wanted. He knew from your recent reaction that you were devastated, as he would have been, but he also knew he had a dangerous job. He might not come back from some other mission in the future and he hoped you would survive without him.
"Do you really want to know?" Finn questioned.
Poe nodded.
"I mean, she was broken." He paused to think. "She didn't talk to anyone for a week. Wouldn't move. Wouldn't cry. Rey had to help her shower and we had to beg her to eat. We almost sent her to the med wing because we thought she was gonna pass out from dehydration, she would barely take a sip of water." Poe's heart was in his throat but he was sure there was more. "Then you were pronounced KIA."
"Oh god."
"Yeah it wasn't pretty. They pulled your stuff out of your guys' room, took your name off the ledger. Leia let her keep some stuff but it was hard to watch. She finally cried, she just wouldn't stop. She was more responsive but she wasn't even moving towards okay. You could tell she was only doing what we were asking because we were begging. That she was doing it out of guilt. Today was actually the first day that I talked her into coming out of her room. She had been to the canteen for about an hour when she felt she needed to leave and then alarms sounded that you were back." Finn finished with a glance to his friend and Poe looked like he might throw up.
"I want her to be okay if I don't make it back one day." Poe tried to explain to his friend.
"She probably would have been functioning in a few months. She wouldn't have recovered but she would function. She's a strong woman, but she also loves you a lot. I mean, how would you react if she was killed on mission?" Poe could tell it was a rhetorical question but he thought about it very carefully. You were an engineer so you weren't called out on mission often, not nearly as often as him. When you were, he was worried sick the whole time. He hadn't really thought about how him being gone affected you before. Now looking back on it he kicked himself for it.
Poe thought about what he would have done if you had died and he thought that your reaction was probably mild. That he would have been unresponsive for weeks or even become violent with anger and grief. He knew that you were the one for him, the most important thing in his life, and without you he didn't know if he would find purpose in his life anymore. He fought in the war as hard as he did for you. To make the galaxy safer for you.
When he went MIA it was because he tried to take out a couple more imperial ships than he could handle. He only did it because he knew they would have followed them back to base if they left. Back to you. So he took the risk and it backfired but he knew he would do it again to try and keep the First Order away from you.
He was knocked out of his train of thought by the arrival at Finn's quarters. Poe tried to get cleaned up and dressed quickly, getting the grime off of himself and shaving his face. He hurried back to your shared quarters and when he entered his room he was greeted with your smiling face as you laughed.
You were sat on the bed, Rey on the other end, as you were talking about something which caught you in a fit of giggles. At the sound of him stepping into the room you looked at him and got up quickly to rush up and hug him tightly.
"Missed you." You mumbled into his chest. As he held you Rey silently nodded at Poe and left the room.
"Was only gone for a minute, honey bun." He reassured and you pulled your face back.
"You know I hate that one."
"Boo bear?" he teased and you shook your head no. "Munchkin?" nope. "honey bear?" no thank you. "Baby love?" You tilted your head a bit.
"I don't loathe that one."
"Sweetheart?"
"I like that one."
"Princess?"
"That's my favorite" You giggled and kissed him quickly for a moment. He could have cried at the sight of you giggling. He had missed that, you, the sounds you made, so goddamn much. More than he would ever put into words.
"I know it is, pretty girl." He smiled before picking you up and you squealed. He walked you over to the bed before dropping you on it and laying next to you. You climbed close to him, practically laying on his chest. His arm was snug around your waist and he left no room for you to move, not that you would have anyway. "How would you feel about going to bed, princess?" He almost whispered, not wanting to disrupt the fragile quiet in the room.
"Yes please. I love you Poe." You whispered back and closed your eyes a bit, focussing on his breathing.
"I love you, Y/N" he responded.
You both got the first decent sleep you'd had in weeks that night.

A Reputation to Keep (Poe Dameron x Reader)
Tumblr media
GIF BY @captain-flint
Rating: G (General Audience)
Type: Fluff
Summary: You get a front row seat to the show that is Poe Dameron using his charm to get out of bad situations.
Word Count: 1k
Warnings: N/A
A/N: This is a little fun one. Also, in this one Poe can understand Chewie which I don’t think is the case in canon so, yeah.
✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸ ✸
His eyebrows furrowed along with his overly-focused faced, borderline adorable as he tried to rewire the navigation system of your X-Wing, crouched down over it, having brought the droids and Chewbacca along with him for alledged cover.
You see, the thing is, just this morning General Leia had encompassed you and Poe to go on a recognition mission to the planet where it had been last reported for the First Order to have step foot on. And you and Poe might’ve thrown in a little friendly competition suggesting that whoever gathers the most information first gets the following day off. You were both Commanders and the Resistance could do well with just one for a day.
And Poe… Poe had a reputation to keep. He is the best pilot that ever graced the fleet. Or so he thinks to himself. Truth be told, you were close behind him if not his equal when it came to the hard skills of a pilot but there was no way he was letting you have that day off and make everyone think he was loosing capacities. He loved you, very dearly at that but there was no way he was going to let you have this one.
So he set himself up to reset the navigation system in your starfighter so that he would at least have a headstart on you. You were supposed to cover different parts of the planet but if he could send you to a remote one at that, away from any civilians, there was no way you would be as quick as him.
Just as he was about to rewire the copper, the exposed ends of two other cables rubbed against each other and blasted in his hand, before smoke started drifting out of the side port. He is startled by the reaction and all three other creatures quickly snap back to look his way, slowly inching closer to the accident.
“I would consider that to be a temporary stepback.” Threepio robotic voice exclaims while scratching his hard head.
“My wife is gonna kill me.” That is all Poe says, eyes wide, grabbing both sides of the wire box.
“You think?”
All four creatures snap their heads back to the sound of the voice that they last hoped to hear during their little shenanigan. There you stood, on the entryway of the otherwise empty garage, hands on your hips, an incredulous look upon your features.
He is quick to throw the tools in his hand to the side and walk over to your front, wiping the hands on the chest of his light blue shirt.
“Honeybee…“ he offers in an enthusiastic voice but you are quick to cut the emotion of.
“You better have a good excuse, Dameron.” You taunt a finger at him
“You see, honey, the thing is, I was trying to replace a few corroded cable jackets, that I noticed the last time we did an inspection.” He was fairly quick to come up with a solid excuse, impressing himself even.
You run a finger across your bottom lip, nodding your head.
“And you actually think I’m going to believe that?”
“Not really, no.” He is fast to let the facade drop, knowing there was no way he could have possibly made you believe his excuse.
A shy smirk starts to want to creep into your lips as you look ahead at his big eyes.
“You were trying to reset the coordinates, weren’t you?” Poe scratches the back of his head nodding and you look behind him to see the droids and Chewie who look everywhere else but at you, except for BB8 who quickly rolls over to bump against your feet, beeping at you.
“Is that so?” you muse at him, as the droid tells you how he tried to tell Poe this was a bad idea from the start and that he still loves you very much. “It’s okay, BB.”
You pat his head as he rolls back to stand next to Chewie while Poe looks slightly offended that his own droid outted him like that. He looks back over at you, a small curl of his dark hair falling over his forehead, as he steps closer to you, hands snaking around your waist, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
“What if I make it up to you?”
You decide to play along, smirking up at him, and draping your hands over his shoulders.
“And how exactly would you do that?”
He looks to the side, just like before, trying to come up with a compelling plan.
“You see, I was thinking, a bottle of the best Algarine-“
“You know I don’t like Algarine.” You remind him.
“A bottle of the best Ne'tra gal.” he is quick to rectify his mistake, before continuing on, voice getting progressively quieter “You, me and fresh sheets.”
Apparently, it wasn’t quite enough as both droids and Chewie groan in disgust only a few feet away from the pair of you.
Poe only looks over his shoulder, speaking louder.
“We’re married. I’m allowed.”
While he is looking away you smile at the little interaction before biting down on your lips when he faces you once more, having pulled you incredibly closer to him. You squint your eyes as if pondering his proposal, enjoying the way you were toying with him.
“How do I always let you get away with these things?”
“Because you love me and you’re the best wife in the galaxy.”
“Mnhhh… debatable.”
His smile only grows victoriously wide as he brings his head down to kiss you on the lips. Once parted, he pats you on your ass as you turn to walk away.
“See you later, babe!”
“Fix the damn cables!” you call over your shoulder, walking away.
Once he’s sure you’re out of sight, Poe turns and rushes over to the tree creatures that just watched the scene unfold expectantly looking at him. He then points a finger between Threepio and BB8.
“Find me a bottle of Ne'tra gal and I’ll give you a system update.”
He is only met by Chewie’s loud groan claiming also wanting to help and a subsequent reward.
“I don’t know! What do you want?” Poe asks, hands on his hips, mirroring your stance just a few minutes ago, one of the many mannerisms he started taking after you.
“I’m going to regret this.” He exhales, running a hand over his face “Fine. One Cortyg brandy, but that’s it. One! Now, please go find me some Ne'tra gal or my wife is really going to kill me.”

The Dreamz
Pairing: Fem!Reader x Seo Changbin
Word Count: 2.2K
Warnings: Language, Smut
Genre: Established Relationship
Summary: It’s your first Christmas with your boyfriend, Changbin. You want to make it memorable and surprise him, but maybe it’s Changbin who’s determined to make it unforgettable for you.
Tumblr media
A/N: This was written for @clandestine-lixie‘s Smutmas Collab!!!
You were a sentimental person at heart, and the people closest to you had always entertained your tendencies to take things to the extreme, especially when they involved your firsts.
For example, when you were barely seven-years-old, you were over-the-moon excited for your first dance recital, and you planned well in-advance for the event. You put on a pre-show for your family members exclusively in the living room of your childhood home, and you demanded that everyone dress-up for the occasion (even though it wasn’t required); and after the show, you forced your mother to take you out for dinner where you ate far too many cookies while indulging a very sugary milkshake.
And this tendency for the extreme persisted well into your older age, illuminating some of the finer memories you had of your most special moments. Like moving in with your boyfriend for the first time when you threw an impromptu party that very same evening despite Changbin wanting nothing more than to collapse on the new king-sized mattress in your bedroom.
But at this point, the two of you had been living together for close to six months, and since this was your first Christmas together with Changbin in the brand new apartment you had leased together, you were determined to make it memorable.
Too bad Changbin was making things far more difficult than they needed to be, and you would think the man would know the finer details of Christmas tree decorating.
“No, Bin,” you sighed. “You can’t just put all the ornaments in the same area! They have to be spread out.”
Changbin chuckled when you snatched away the adorable BB8 ornament he had been attempting to perch next to the other droid.
“Maybe you should do it instead,” Changbin suggested, and he was clearly amused at your frazzled attempts to decorate the Christmas tree.
“We should do it together,” you insisted, taking a step back to scrutinize the work you had completed thus far. “It’s important to make our first Christmas memorable.”
“Oh, I can make it memorable,” Changbin said with a cheeky wink, and he sat down behind you on one of the loveseats surrounding the fireplace. “We should start a new tradition,” Changbin continued, and he waited until you had adjusted a few more ornaments in place before giving him your undivided attention.
“What kind of tradition?”
“Let’s open one present tonight, babe,” Changbin said, and he was next to you in a second, reaching for one of the packages from the back. “Unwrap this.”
“Oh?” you huffed, accepting the present from him. “It sounds like you were already planning for this to happen.”
“Well?” Changbin shrugged. “We used to do this when I was a kid, so I thought you might like it...”
You sighed, feeling an insurmountable weakness for Changbin’s pout. “Fine,” you agreed, and you surveyed the pile of presents you had purchased for Changbin conglomerated together. “Open this one,” you said, locating a familiar package.
“You first,” Changbin said, and he pulled you down onto his lap with his present discarded next to him; clearly, this was meant for him to enjoy just as much as you.
“Eager tonight?” you teased him.
“This gives me reason to be,” Changbin said with eyes that were literally sparkling with mischief, and you were careful with the wrapping paper while finding yourself thoroughly amused by Changbin’s excitement.
“What is it, anyway?” you questioned aloud, reaching the small black box that had previously been hidden by the bright red paper.
“You should find out,” Changbin suggested, even though he was already a step ahead of you in removing the tape holding the edges in place.
“Why are you in such a hurry?” you asked, feigning annoyance as you sorted through the tissue paper, feeling yourself start to frown when your fingertips touched what felt like the most delicate satin that you had ever encountered.
But the texture of the gift wasn’t enough to keep you from over-reacting to the scandalous revelation of what had been waiting inside the gift wrap. “Changbin!” you screeched, tossing aside the lingerie like it had physically burned you.
“Hey!” Changbin protested. “That was expensive!”
“You bought me lingerie!” you hissed, flinching away when he dangled the very tiny pair of black panties in front of your eyes.
“You’ll look sexy in this,” Changbin purred, and he encouraged you to take it from him. “Will you try it on for me?”
“Try it on?” you repeated, hesitantly accepting the thin piece of fabric that might as well have been nonexistent.
“It’s a matching set,” Changbin said, and he reached over for the strapless bra that happened to be lined with a very delicate lace pattern. “I had a store associate help me find it.”
“You went shopping around a lingerie store with an associate?” you questioned, feeling a spike of unjustified jealousy. “She didn’t model it for you, did she?”
Changbin snorted. “No, my model is right here,” he said, taking your hand to fold the other barely-there piece of intimate fabric into your hand. “Please, baby?”
Had you already pointed out your weakness for his pout?
“Alright,” you agreed, whining at Changbin’s outlandish enthusiasm to see you practically naked in your living room.
Tumblr media
Ten minutes later, you found yourself fidgeting nervously in front of the floor-length mirror in your bedroom, tugging at the straps of Changbin’s gracious gift for you.
“Is it supposed to be this small?” you wondered because the panties barely covered your ass and the lacy top did little to protect your cleavage from practically spilling over the top.
“Y/N!” Changbin sing-songed from the living room. “Are you ready?”
“Give me a second,” you called out, huffing under your breath at the absurdity of the circumstances. “This ‘gift’ of yours isn’t very practical,” you continued once you left the bedroom and made the short walk to the living room where Changbin was waiting.
“Holy shit, Y/N,” Changbin said, and his eyes were already glossed over as they remained glued to your form.
“Hey! It doesn’t even fit right,” you complained, but you could tell the comment wasn’t even registering in Changbin’s lust--addled brain as he looked you over with a dark, studious gaze.
“You’re gorgeous,” Changbin eventually remarked, pulling you closer in spite of your protests.
You found yourself standing in between his thighs, trying not to shiver at the touch of his hands on your waist even though the fire was burning right behind you. “It doesn’t cover much,” you said, resisting the urge to wrap your arms around your torso.
“Exactly,” Changbin exhaled, and you rolled your eyes at the little things that impressed him. “Your tits look amazing.”
“Changbin!” you whined again, but this time he laughed and encouraged you to straddle his lap. “Is this really a gift for me?”
“Of course!” Changbin insisted, even as he maintained the appearance of someone who had just won the lottery, running his hands across your ass and up your waist to cup your breasts. “Come here,” he whispered, urging you to connect your lips with his in a heated kiss that betrayed the extent of the damage that your little show had done to Changbin’s arousal.
“You’re hard,” you said against the taste of him, rolling your hips against his own just to feel the friction of his clothed erection against your clit.
“Can’t help it,” Changbin said, and he grabbed a fistful of your hair with a growl, pulling you lower so that he could speak directly into your ear. “Bend over the couch for me.”
You whimpered at the request, but you forced your legs to work in an effort to lift yourself from Changbin’s lap. It was hard to focus, feeling more and more wetness gather between your legs at his intense stare following you while you positioned yourself for him. “Like this?” you asked in a hushed tone, resting your hips against the arm of the couch and spreading your legs even further apart.
“Yeah,” Changbin agreed, and you could feel yourself growing excited when you heard his footsteps nearing you, hands rough as they gripped your hips in a vice-like hold. “Such a good girl for me.”
You nodded your head - it was the only thing you could do when Changbin was in this kind of mood. Because his desire for you promised all sorts of erotic temptations, and you could barely contain yourself when he started to roll your panties down your legs, fingertips following a sensual trail that left goosebumps in their wake. His actions were sultry and smooth, but there was a degree of hurried anticipation that had you swallowing hard when two of his fingers found their way inside of your already dripping cunt.
“Fuck,” Changbin cursed, and you could only agree while cherishing the glide of his fingers against the walls of your pussy, stretching you out for him in just the way you liked. Because it made you feel full and desperate, and you were rolling your hips back against his shallow penetrations, allowing you to do most of the work while he no doubt watched from above with the same dark eyes that had reduced you to a moaning mess.
“Changbin,” you managed around a groan. “Please fuck me.”
“Can I?” Changbin asked, but you knew the question was meant to tease you - a test to see just how fast you could thrust back on his fingers, crying out when he curled them just right to brush against your sweet spot. “Are you ready for my cock?”
“Yes!” you sobbed, and Changbin was generous enough to have mercy on you in this pathetic state, pushing down his sweatpants just enough to free his erection, rubbing the tip against your entrance.
“I’m gonna ruin this pussy,” Changbin promised with a rough growl that was followed by the sudden slam of his cock deep inside, and he didn’t bother to wait for you to adjust to his generous girth, pulling back out before settling into a powerful and non-relenting pace that had you already seeing stars.
It was sudden, but generous, and you couldn’t help but think that his cock was made for you, stretching your tender pussy so well, accommodating his length and girth as your walls hugged his erection in a desperate attempt to keep him inside forever. Because it was where he belonged, and you were certain that there was no better situation than the one you found yourself in - splitting in half around Changbin’s cock as he pummeled his hips against your own, bruising your delicate waist and ass with his overzealous touches.
“We’re definitely keeping this set,” Changbin said, ignoring your whimper of pain when he snapped the band of your panties into place, toying with the lace around the edges.
“Changbin,” you said. “I’m close.”
“Me too, baby,” Changbin said, but it was hard to tell since he hadn’t let up once in his brutal thrusts - like he was determined to reach as far as possible, touching places that he had never felt before, stuffing your pussy full of his cock while grunting with the effort of his movements.
It was all a masterful trap to reduce you to nothing but tears, and you soon found yourself teetering on the precipice, sensing your orgasm just out of reach, until Changbin maneuvered his hand down between the couch where you both remained connected, flicking his thumb across your clit in a series of measured strokes that lit the flame of arousal threatening to burn you alive from the inside.
You cried out when your orgasm hit, reaching out to support yourself against the cushions while Changbin continued to chase his own high, stimulating you just right while you rode out the waves of pleasure before crashing against the shore - feeling utterly exhausted while he started to move you on his own, and there was a renewed strength as he moved you up and down his cock, faster and faster until you thought you might cum again from the effort.
But then Changbin’s hips stuttered against yours, and you could feel the evidence of his release as it warmed your insides. “Y/N,” Changbin gasped, and you took some personal triumph in the fact that he sounded out of breath, even after visiting the gym that morning.
“Binnie,” you said with a mischievous smirk, collecting your breath and thoughts while he recovered from behind you. “Are there anymore lingerie sets under our tree?”
You knew it was a dangerous question, capable of setting him off once more, but Changbin merely collected you against his chest with a strong arm around your waist, lips brushing against the side of your neck. “Baby, I can promise you that you won’t be able to walk if I have one more go at this pussy.”
You moaned when his hand reached down to cup your heat over the very thin fabric of your new panties, sending you a very obvious message because Changbin never broke his promises. “Should we call it an early night?” you asked, turning around his arms to connect your lips. “The faster we go to sleep, the sooner it’ll be Christmas.”
“Shower and bed?” Changbin asked, holding you close while brushing his fingers through your hair.
“Just your average Christmas Eve,” you said, and you could feel his smirk against your lips as he kissed you with the remnants of the passion from your earlier coupling, solidifying the fact that your first Christmas with Changbin was, indeed, nothing short of memorable.

Piloting your heart | Poe Dameron x Male Reader
Tumblr media
Fandom: Star Wars
Pairing: Poe Dameron x Male Reader
Summary: Poe is crashing hard on you, another pilot. Now he just has to find the courage to tell you.
A/N: Another cowrite with @inhumanshadows, this time we’re writing for Poe! It’s been a hot second since I’ve got a Poe story out and it makes me happy.
Poe was dodging the blaster fire of the TIE fighters chasing him. "Blast. I just need a good get around." BB8 beeped in acknowledgment. "Keep an eye out BB!" He continued to doge while trying to find a clear opening to turn around.
"I got ya!" Before he knew it your B-wing came swooping in. Powering up your canons you shot out your laser hitting all of the TIEs in one swoop. "WWOOOAAAH! That's what I'm talking about! You're all clear Poe!"
"Right! Thanks (Y/N)!" Poe hit in the coordinates for hyperspace while you did the same. "See you back at the base."
"Not if I see you first."
You couldn't see from your ship but Poe was blushing hard.
You circled back, headed towards the base informing the general as well as the hangar crew of what transpired. You landed in the hangar with no problems, jumping out while the other crew members started to look over the ship and see what needed repairs.
You gasp as you take off your helmet, running your fingers through your sweaty hair. Before leaving to head to your quarters, you see Poe's X-wing land.
"Looks like I win Poe!!" You shout as you leave.
Poe only shook his head. "Show off." The cockpit opened and Poe took off his helmet, shaking out his hair. Stepping down the ladder, BB8 was set beside him. "Good job BB. Another good mission." Bwoop.
"So you're saying (Y/N) DIDN'T need to save you?" The familiar voice of Finn said behind him.
"Oh ha ha. I could have taken them out if he hadn't intervened."  Boop. "You little traitor! If you like him so much go be his droid."
Bwoop Beep "No! Don't you 'Fine I will' me!!." Poe says, face in shock.
Finn rolls his eyes at his dramatic friend. "so... when are you gonna do it man?"
Poe stops glaring at his droid to look at Finn confused. "Do what? Let BB-8 be Y/N's droid? Never"
"No..." Finn sighs. "when are you gonna ask Y/N out on a date? I mean now would be best, the First Order is quiet and we're all here..."
Poe blushed. "I don't know what you're talking about." He set his helmet on a tool box and averted his gaze to look anywhere other than Finn.
Finn only laughed at him before clapping his shoulder. "Poe, buddy. The First Order's getting more bold and we never know what'll happen. You should take the chances that are in front of you. I see the way you look at him and I see how he looks at YOU. You can talk to him on missions, why can't you just do it now?"
Poe finally sighed and gave in. "Fine. I just...don't know how to talk to him. It's different when we're on a mission, on a mission we know we're partners looking out for each other. When we're not..." Poe got quiet.
"When you're not you're back to being just people. Don't worry, just talk to him. The worst thing he can do is say no...which I KNOW he won't." Finn gave a pat to his shoulder before leaving. "Come on BB, Rey wanted you to help her train." BEEP!
Poe just watches as Finn and his droid disappear around a corner. Poe didn't want to admit it but Finn had a point. He shouldn't have a problem talking to you when you're out of the cockpits.
"Won't know unless I try will I?" He asks the empty hallway.
Well... first stop... a shower, He tells himself.
While in the shower Poe couldn't help but let his mind wonder about all the possibilities that could happen with him asking. The worst you could say was no. No that wasn't the worst! You could laugh at him, you could get angry, maybe you wouldn't want to be anywhere near him anymore. There were lots of bad possibilities and Poe didn't like it. He hadn't realized he was trying to talk himself out of talking to you until he realized he had been in the shower for almost twenty minutes.
"Oh...Karabast."
Turning off the shower he stepped out a dried off with a towel. Once he was tried off he slipped on some underwear and began to clean up. Somehow, he still had enough courage to talk to you and he was going to be sure he looked good. Going to his closet he pulled out his new jacket, a shirt and some firm fitting pants. Once he was fully dressed he gave one last pep talk to himself in the mirror. "You can do this. You've talked to him lots of times. Just pretend you're on a mission."
After a few more moments of psyching himself up in the mirror, Poe turned towards the door.
It flung open with a loud fwoosh and Poe let out a very manly squeak.
“Oh hey Poe.” You said, waving. “I- um was wondering if you wanted to get our usual post battle drinks?”
For a while Poe didn't respond, just looked at you. Of course you'd already be there.
"Hello? You alright Poe?"
You waved a hand in front of his face and it snapped him out of his trace. His face turned bright red. "I'm fine." His voice cracked and he noticed, so did you. "I-I mean I'm fine. Yeah let's get drinks." He didn't wait for an answer before he slipped past you and began walking to the cantina. You stared at him confused but ultimately shrugged and followed him
The two of you got to the cantina and took a seat at the bar. "I'll take a glass of Naboo Nector."
"And I'll have a Tatooine sunset please."
The bar droid got to work on your drinks and it got quiet between the two of you. "So..." You said first.
"So..." He said after.
Come on Poe! Say something!!
“Nice flying out there Y/N! Way to save my ass..” He says awkwardly.
Really??? That’s what he decided to say???
You stare at him after he says that and can't help but laugh.
"Oh my god! You really suck at this don't you?"
Poe blushed again and looked away. "What do you mean? I was just saying-"
"I know what you were saying. And thanks but what do you really have on your mind? I've never seen you act this awkward before and honestly it's both adorable and scary." You laughed again causing him to groan.
You pat his back as he sips at his drink. "Hey... relax. it's just me. You can talk to me about anything man."
"anything?" Poe asks. You nod. "Okay so I like this guy and he's just so awesome and cool. But I don't know how to talk to him without being weird."
"Okay... well I mean Finn's pretty chill so..."
"Finn? Who said anything about Finn?"
"Oh! I just thought...You and Finn are so close so I figured that's who you were talking about."
Poe laughed and took another drink. "Finn's great but he's not the one I'm talking about." He then got enough courage and looked you in the eyes. "I'm talking about someone else."
You gulp as you look him in the eyes. Not really sure what to say now, any sort of confidence you had was quickly fading. "So...who ARE you talking about?" Your voice was getting more quiet.
He only smiled. "I think you know."
You look at him confused and try to wrack your brain.
“Oh... OH!! You mean me?” You ask.
“Yes you ya dork. I like you a lot. Like really like you.”
You blush as he says that but soon you can't stop the wide smile that grows on your face. "Really? I-I like you too."
You look him in the eyes again and when you look at him you can't help but seem him in a different light. He no longer was just a friend, he was and always has been, someone you cared deeply for.

Meant To Be [part 1]
Tumblr media
A/n: missed last week buT NOT THIS TIME WRITERS BLOCK written for @autumnleaves1991-blog writer wednesday
Pairing: Poe Dameron x Finn (modern au)
Warnings: swearing, pining, BB8 is a snarky 4 yr old, cuteness, some thirty thots, I don’t know how toddlers speak forgive me, barely proofread, age gap (Finn is 25 and Poe is 34)
Word count: 1.4K
—-
Poe was so tired. He could feel the sweat rolling down the back of his neck, the sun beating down on him mercilessly as he slammed the trunk of his car close a tad harder than necessary. A tiny head peaked out from the passenger seat at the noise. Poe grimaced.
He was really looking forward to handing over Beebee to Han and Leia for the evening and get some much needed rest. But now he was practically stranded in the middle of a desert, sand as far as his eyes could see and a flat tire, puncture kit nowhere to be found.
Dragging his feet back to the front, he dropped heavily onto the driver's seat, huffing in frustration. The radio was playing a pop song he may have heard sometime in passing, but hey, at least the air conditioning was unaffected and they had more than enough snacks packed for the trip. The last thing he needed was a hangry kid crying from the punishing heat.
Said toddler turned to look at him and he snorted at her serious expression and his aviators looking comically large on her small face. Beebee smiled back. "Now are you going to call grampa Han?" she asked.
"Looks like I don't have a choice," he sighed, prompting a round of giggles from Bee.
"He's going to be mad,"
"Little lady, do you think it's funny when your dad gets yelled at by that old man?"
"I'm gonna tell him you called him old man," she giggled again.
"No you won't,"
"Yes, I will," she told him with conviction.
"Snitches get stitches," Poe lurched forward tickling her sides making her squeal with laughter.
"I'm gonna tell him!"
---
"You always get the same thing! Try something new," Rey groaned.
Finn smiled pleasantly at her irritation, cheerfully replying, "Nope," as Rey parked her ancient looking pick-up truck outside the ice-cream parlour. "And if you get me anything but butterscotch I'll steal your keys," he threatened.
"And then what? Walk home by yourself?" Rey laughed, slipping out before Finn could issue more stupid threats. He pouted in his seat, watching his roommate happily skip into the shop.
Fridays were Finn's favourite. Classes end early and it was his off day too. More often then not Han lets Rey off earlier at the shop so he gets to spend more time with her as well. It was just perfect.
The phone on the dashboard starts to vibrate not a minute later. Finn recognized the caller ID and picked it up. "Hello, Solo,"
"Rey not there?" came the gruff reply.
"Nice to hear from you too, I've been good, how about you?" He asked cheerfully. Maybe the fact that he wasn’t face to face with Han Solo made him a little more bold than usual. Rey swears he is a teddy bear under all that grumpy personality but Finn was yet to be convinced.
"Not in the mood, big deal," the old man huffed on other side.
"I can take a message," Finn folded. Best not to push him too far.
“My idiot godson got himself stranded out in the desert without a puncture kit. I need Rey to go help him out,”
“Aye aye, captain,”
---
Bee was adorably dancing along to the Peppa pig theme song on her god-knows-how-many episode on the iPad propped up against her knees. Exhaustion was pulling at Poe’s eyelids as he fought to keep them open.
It had been almost an hour since he made that absolutely not fun at all call to Han, who spent fifteen whole minutes lecturing him on the importance of being prepared, especially with a toddler dependent on him. Thankfully Leia had interrupted with an excuse of wanting to talk to Beebee.
Then they had waited and waited. He had already gotten out of the car to stretch his legs about three times, not more than a few minutes at a time, too scared he would melt right into the ground from the heat. One particularly long blink of his eyes later, he noticed a battered looking pickup truck approaching and thought dear lord let them be my savior.
The truck parked on the opposite side of the road and a young woman in a tank top and grease stained jeans hopped out. Must be the one Han called Rey. Poe dropped a kiss on Bee’s forehead, asking to her to stay inside. He pushed the door open and— very nearly tumbled to the ground in his gay panic.
Another person stepped out of the truck, a man maybe a few inches taller than the woman. And goddamn, he was fine. The black band tee stretched just so around his chest and Christ, those biceps.
“You must be Han’s godson,” Rey’s voice snapped him out of his gawking. God, he must have been so obvious. For all he knew, the guy could’ve been Rey’s boyfriend.
Poe slapped on a polite smile before offering his hand. “Poe Dameron. Nice to meet you,”
“I’m Beatrice Dameron, but everyone calls me Beebee,” said a voice in an adorable toddler drawl. When the hell did she get out of the car? Was he really that distracted? “Nice to meet you,” Bee offered her hand mirroring him.
Rey crouched down to take her hand. “That’s a nice name. I’m Rey,”
“I asked you to stay in the car,” Poe hissed after Rey went to get the spare tire.
“I didn’t say yes,” Beebee answered before skipping away after Rey. Are four year olds even supposed to be that sassy? An amused chuckle drew his attention back to the handsome stranger.
“Cute kid,” his smile rivaled sunshine— shut up, inner-monologue.
“You’d think that, but before you know it she would have you wrapped around her little finger and you can’t say no to her,” The handsome stranger laughed again and something fluttered in Poe’s chest at the sound.
“I’m Finn, Rey’s roommate,” Oh goodie, not boyfriend then. “You new to town?” Finn asked. God, even his name was perfect.
“Technically, yeah. But it’s fortunate I got transferred somewhere with people I know, ya know,”
“What do you do?”
“Flight instructor at the airbase,” Poe shrugged nonchalantly. It was a brag, he knew it and judging by the arch of Finn’s eyebrows, he thought it was impressive too. “What about you?”
Before he could hear Finn’s answer, Beebee came barreling into Poe, screaming, “I’m gonna be a mechanic when I grown up!”
“That’s great, honey,” Poe lifted up his kid into his arms. Rey walked up behind her.
“You’re all set,” Poe looked at her on surprise. That was fast. After thanking the her for the help, Rey and Finn departed. He sighed forlornly. If only he still had game or time to date.
“You ready to leave now?” Bee nodded her head vigorously. There’s only so much desert one can tolerate.
—-
Han failed to mention his idiot godson was hot. Quite honestly, ‘hot’ wasn’t even doing justice to the head full of dark, gravity-defying curls either. Finn groaned out loud, tipping his head back into the head rest.
“He’s a pilot, Rey,” Rey straight up laughed at his pathetic whining. But Finn paid her no mind as usual. “Do you think he has those uniforms Air Force officers wear? I bet he looks so sexy in them,”
“I don’t know, you could just ask him,” Rey stated.
“Hell no! He has a kid, what if he’s straight? Or worse, what if he’s married?”
“Don’t say you didn’t see him checking you out! Besides, he wasn’t wearing a ring,” Finn briefly wondered when Rey got so observant.
“He wasn’t checking me out!” Finn spluttered.
“Oh ho ho, yes he was,” Rey exclaimed. “Very nearly drooled, too,”
“It doesn’t matter,” he deflated, crossing his arms over his chest. “I’m probably not gonna see him again after this anyways,” he lamented.
“He’s Han and Leia’s godson, of course you’re gonna see him again,” as if on queue, Rey’s phone dinged again. “See who texted?” Finn skimmed through the message Han sent and groaned again. “What?”
“Han invited us to dinner, apparently Poe’s gonna be there too,” Finn swore Rey’s answering cackle could be heard for miles.

Oh you mentioned Ben Solo and it made me curious since you do not talk of the Sequels very much. What are your thoughts on his character and Ben dying since you mentioned the difficulty of redeemed characters
Lmao I’m going to be very controversal here. I don’t talk about the sequels a lot because I think prequels fans do the same thing that OG fans did to the prequels when they first came out, which is be unreasonably rude and hateful about them. I like the sequels. Call me weird but I happen to be a Star Wars fan that actually likes Star Wars. Do I think they should have done things differently, were there things I really didn’t like and inconsistencies because of the change of directors? Yes,but I still love them and think there’s some beautiful and fun stuff they added to the gffa. Like porgs and BB8 and Oscar Isaac’s thiccc ass.
I also liked Kylo Ren. I don’t think his character was as well fleshed out as Anakin’s but listen,I study literature and story telling and archetypes in history and culture and when I sat in the theater watching The Force Awakens And he pulled off his helmet I said,oh,he’s going to get a redemption arc. I understand people disagreeing with it and not liking it,but the fact is, it was written into his character arc from the very beginning and I don’t think it was terribly deep or subversive to pick up on it. Star Wars is very blunt about how it uses the physicality of its characters to convey good and bad, like Anakin’s progression of becoming more machine as he slowly succumbs to the dark side. So when Kylo pulled off his helmet and he was young and pretty I thought,oh yeah for sure, the symbolism is all there that he’s going to get a redemption arc, because he is unmarred. And the wounds he does earn are healed in the end, unlike Anakin who keeps his.
And I think what some people don’t understand is that for a character to get a redemption arc, that does not mean they are excused for their atrocities or that other characters must forgive or excuse what they did. A redemption arc is an internal thing,it’s a fulfillment of character where the person realizes that they were in the wrong and they seek to redeem themselves, often through actions of good or self sacrifice. A very important component is forgiveness, not from other characters but from themselves. Self hate is not a path to healing, even when a person has done something horrible, that’s self torment and only internalized negativity and malice and hatred. By all the classic literary definitions Kylo/Ben gets his redemption arc,and he doesn’t need the forgiveness of others to do it,he merely needs to accept his wrong, repent and then give himself to good/good actions.
I understand that it’s very difficult to deal with a redeemed character who has committed atrocities. Because while the narrative/character arc is a personal thing, that doesn’t mean that the other characters will accept the redemption. And very understandably so,especially in the case of someone like Kylo Ren,who murdered his father and ruled an empire of blood and slavery. The truth is a path of good and redemption doesn’t end when the character reaches their climax of fulfillment/self actualization, because you reap what you sow and there are consequences to the wrongs you do. In a narrative as fast paced and focused as Star Wars,it’s more difficult to take this villain who finds peace and redemption within themself and then be like, and now they must go off to exist in the world they’ve created, and they must face their crimes and their hurt and it will be a battle every day for the rest of their life.
That being said,I wish the finale had the narrative strength to break the mold of a common redemption arc for Ben. Because I think killing him was the easy way out, because the answer of what do you do with this character when they have to face the music is a difficult one. And I do think Kylo’s arc mirrored Vader’s very closely, and in the end I would have liked to seen the mirroring character arcs break with how the self sacrifice and redemption plays out in the end. Because I think a more nuanced way to examine Ben’s redemption and sacrifice is to say that, his ultimate sacrifice would have been living and standing up to his wrongs in the world he created. His sacrifice could have been keeping to the light side of the force in a galaxy where he murdered his father and his mother and uncle died for him and he destroyed peace and happiness and life for billions-if not trillions. When Anakin finds his redemption and dies,he really doesn’t have a life to give to the light and his death makes sense. He is middle aged and kept alive by machines and doesn’t stand to live a long life because of his wounds and his redemption is the ultimate act of selflessness because of love, where his entire life was selfish decisions made for love. I’m not saying Ben’s end actions were any different from Anakin’s,they both chose to forfeit their lives for someone who deserved to live and who helped bring them to the light. But Ben had a long life before him that I personally think would have made for a phenomenal narrative impact and would have shown an incredible strength and deftness of writing; if he spent it fighting for the light and facing the consequences of turning to the dark side.

Sentinel Dameron AU | @irrfahrer |
“What are we going to do?! Thats master Dameron, we cant let him die!" The little voice was laced with panic and Poe couldn’t really blame the young learner; he had caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror before passing out on his ship and yeah, he looked pretty gnarly. Bloodied robes, dark lines of the sith infection showing under his skin, permeating from the slash wounds on his arm... Not a sight he wished on the kids but he didn’t have much choice in the matter now.
“Yeah, that would be a bummer..." He muttered, blinking his eyes open, trying to take a look around, at the young faces which belonged to the worried and stressed little minds he could sense. He tried to comfort them with that joke, with an attempted smile. BB8 cursed him in angry and worried beeps, rolling somewhere nearby, trying to help where it could.

okay hear me out on this one, princess! reader and captain poe dameron softness :((( like the first time they have to get all dressed up for a ceremony or something
Hear me out though, this is so softttt, enjoy!
»»————- ♡ ————-««
“This feels so silly,” you sighed as you tried on the soft pink dress that Rey had insisted would suit you. You studied yourself in the mirror, twisting to and fro as you watched the dress move and flit about your figure. You’d been reluctant to give it the time of day, but Rey insisted that it was perfect, that it suited everything about you, including your royal status.
“Well, it doesn’t look silly,” she insisted as she up behind you, fixing one of your straps that had gotten twisted, “you look every part a princess.”
“That’s usually what I’m trying to avoid,” you shrugged lightly as you tried to fight the smile that was starting to spread across your face, “besides, we’ve got other things to do besides spend time having an over the top party. Fancy dress? I can’t even fathom why we’re doing this.”
“It was all Leia’s idea and she figured it would do us all good to blow off some steam and celebrate the small victories,” Rey played with a lock of hair as she held it up, emulating a fancy up-do, “you know, Princess Leia.”
“Last I checked she prefers to go by General these days,” you sighed lightly, knowing Rey loved to tease you. Turning around to face Rey, you started to slip off the over the top dress, reaching for your normal clothes, “as do I. Simply being born to a particular family, a name, doesn’t make me any better or more important than anyone else.”
“I know that, we all do,” she promised, tossing your shirt over. Of all the people in the galaxy, she knew that you could be destined for greatness without even knowing your family name, “but you’re still Princess Y/N, General or not.”
“I-”
“And we know you care about everyone,” Rey gave you a gentle smile, “you’re out here fighting as hard as anyone else, day in and day out.”
“We all are,” grabbing the hanger, you placed the delicate dress back on it, letting out a wistful sigh before stuffing it back into the closet. In another life, one back before all of this began, you would have squealed in delight over the tulle and sparkle of it all, but it just seemed silly and unnecessary, “not just me.”
“Poe will love it,” she interrupted anything you were about to say, causing you to freeze as your mouth hung open. Turning away, you tried to hide your face, which you were was probably a deep crimson by now, “don’t get all shy on me, Princess. Everyone knows you’re clearly smitten with each other.”
“I have no clue what you’re talking about,” you insisted quietly, hoping she would leave you be and let you slink by, although deep down you knew she would rather die than do that, “Poe is a very good friend, as are you, Finn, Rose, and everyone else.”
“But you don’t spend all your time oogling your other friends, or shamelessly flirt with them, or-”
“Alright, alright,” you put up your hands in defeat, “point taken. Perhaps I may have some...feelings for him.”
“I knew it, I knew it, I knew it,” she giggled excitedly as she clapped her hands in delight, “well I mean everyone knows it, but I finally got you to admit! I’ve got to go and tell Finn!”
“Rey, please! Keep it down,” you grabbed her arm and gave her a nervous smile, “at least for right now.”
“I swear that no one else will hear about it,” she gave you a small salute, but you were still worried. It was a small base, everyone knew everyone and word traveled fast. If even one wrong person overheard anything Rey were to tell Finn, Poe would probably know withing in minutes. It wasn’t that you didn’t want Poe to know...you were almost sure that, positive even, that he felt the same way about you. But actually telling him that little fact was a whole other step and it made nerves and butterflies bubble up in your stomach.
“Just...wear that dress,” she shot you a cheeky wink before heading out of your room and running down the hall, no doubt looking for Finn. There were a few moments of silence before you heard the distinct chirps of BB8 at your door. You looked down at the droid, hands on your hips as you gave him a small smile.
“And just how long have you been there my little friend?” you bent down and gave his head a few pets as he watched you closely, answering your question with a series of beeps, “of course you heard everything. Can you do me a favor and please not tell Poe?”
He rolled back and looked down the hallway where he spotted his owner, and turned backed to you, hastily telling that he was approaching and rapidly, “please BB? For me, don’t tell him just yet. I promise I’ll tell him soon BB! Just not now!”
“What are you telling who soon?” Poe’s voice reached your ears as you exchanged a look before both looking at the Captain at the same time. You swallowed the nervous lump in your throat as you realized who were caught; you just hoped your droid friend wouldn’t give you away.
“Umm,” you said with a light chuckle, standing up and scratching the back of your head nervously, “I was just...gonna tell BB here that...umm, the flowers. Outside the base, near those trees...they’re blooming and lovely.”
“The flowers?” he raised an eyebrow at you, a grin stretching across his features as he clearly didn’t believe a word you were saying, but you weren’t just going to give up your little lie, “it’s the coldest season of the year...but there’s flowers blooming?”
“They’re special flowers,” you said, trying to convince yourself and him, “they do best in the cold and rain.”
“You’re a lot of things, Princess, but you’re a horrible liar-”
“I am not...lying,” you lied through gritted teeth as you tried to give him a sincere smile.
“What are those flowers called then?” he spread his legs as he put his hands on his hips and watched you closely, his tongue darting out to lick his dry lips, causing you to almost fall over. It was quite a sight to behold, one that made you weak in the knees, one that made you want to kiss him then and there.
“Umm,” you started but BB8 quickly took over and beeped loudly at Poe, rolling slightly into Poe’s leg. You let out a sigh of relief as you turned back to the curly haired man, “what he said. They’re hydra-gan-neri-something or other.”
“The both of you are liars and,” he pointed to each of you in turn, “are definitely up to something. I’ll find out soon enough.”
“I have no clue what you mean...”
“Like I said, Princess. Horrible liar,” he ran a hand through his hair before taking step back and jerking his head to indicate for BB8 to go, “but I’ll see you around. Maybe you’ll finally tell me what you’re hiding from me.”
“Poe!” you were almost ready to run after him and confess all your secrets, but he was already almost halfway down the hall. You let out a long breath that you hadn’t realized you were holding in before leaning against the wall. Maybe Rey was right, maybe you should just tell him, he probably already knew, and then you maybe you could finally find out what it was like to kiss him.
»»————- ♡ ————-««
When you entered the room filled with almost everyone on the base, you felt out of place. Everyone was dressed to the nines, including yourself, having succumbed to Rey’s peer pressure and wearing the glittering pink. You did feel pretty in it, especially since you had taken the time to do your hair, weaving pieces of gold and silver through the ornate design. It was probably too much, but it had been the first chance to play dress up in ages, so you wanted to take full advantage of it.
The only missing part was one Poe Dameron. You had scanned the floor, doing a few rounds under the guise of saying hello to everyone, but not spotting him anywhere. You’d be lying if you said your heart didn’t break a little bit; you’d finally decided that tonight was the night that you planned on confessing your long held feelings for him. Only to have him not show up at all.
“What’s wrong?” Rey asked as she tracked you down, lacing her arm through yours, “you look lovely!”
“As do you,” you reassured her as you gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, “it’s just...Poe. He’s not here. I just thought that he might be coming.”
“He said he would,” she stood up on her tip toes and tried to find the man in question, “maybe he’s just running late. I’m sure he’s coming, if nothing else to see you. I doubt he’d pass up that opportunity.”
“Who knows,” you felt defeated, but didn’t want to let on just how much. Instead, you played it cool and put a smile on your face; it was still a party and you were still going to have fun with your friends, “either way, it’ll be fun. We’re all here to have fun!”
“Exactly,” she agreed, taking your hand and dragging you over to your group of friends. You were so thankful for them, and getting to dance and talk with them was exactly what you needed right now.
Time wore on and eventually you had given up on looking for the object of your affection and gotten lost in dancing and twirling around the dance floor that you didn’t even notice when Poe finally did arrive.
“Hello there,” he said as he stepped in front of you, causing you to almost trip over your own feet at his sudden appearance. Poe reached out and grabbed you, clutching you in his arms before you could hurt yourself, “sorry, sweetheart. Didn’t meant to startle you.”
“Poe,” you said nervously as you straightened yourself out and took in all of him. He looked handsome, even more so than normal, all dressed up and dapper, “you came.”
“Of course I came,” he said as though it was the most obvious thing in the galaxy, “I had a few things that I had to finish and they took me a little longer than expected. And I had to go and clean up, I could’t just come dirty and smelly to see my best girl.”
You were sure that your face was instantly flushed from his words, as they already echoed around in your mind; best girl, best girl, best girl. You bit your bottom lip and looked up at him, trying to even think of what to say. You knew what you wanted to tell him, and that tonight was the night, but words were suddenly a whole other endeavor.
“I...yeah,” you said quietly, “I’m glad you came.”
“Me too,” he said gently as he slowly lifted a hand and brought it to the side of your face, touching your cheekbone with the tips of is fingers, “you look beautiful, Princess. Stunning as ever.”
“You don’t look so bad yourself,” you found a few words, shifting your gaze to meet his soft, dark eyes. Every part of you was buzzing and humming in anticipation, telling you to do it, “Poe, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you...”
“Oh? And just what would that be?” he teased, pulling away, but already knowing exactly what it was. You didn’t know what was possessing you, what type magic was flowing through your veins that emboldened you to act or rather than speak, but you put your hands on his shoulders and quickly kissed him. It wasn’t anything passionate, nothing long or speculator, but you found yourself pulling back from him with a nervous expression deep set in your features.
“That,” you said quietly, feeling shy all of a sudden, “it was that.”
“I was wondering when you I was finally going to get to kiss you,” you finally find yourself able to look at him, noticing that he was practically beaming at you, “and yes, I’ve known. I’m pretty sure everyone knows...and no, BB didn’t tell me anything.”
“Oh...it’s that obvious, huh?”
“Yeah,” he chuckled lightly, putting his hand under your chin and tilted your head up lightly so you were looking at him, “I’m hoping you’re okay with me doing that again?”
“Aye aye Captain,” you said before the two of you broke into laughter at what you had uttered.
“Oh wow, dork,” he threw his back with laughter, “why did I wait this long?”
“I don’t know,” you giggled, “maybe because I’m worth it.”
“You’re definitely worth it Princess,” he said before putting his arms around your waist and pulling you closer, “and I intend on doing that a lot more often from here on out.”

Oh you have so many WIP titles that intrigue me! I'm going to chop it down and ask about just the Werewolf_Stormpilot_withevilpriests and the Man and Monster WIP tho
Hehe, the evil priests. That’s a funny story. So, it started out as a Red Riding Hood rewrite thingy, where Poe is Red Riding Hood and Finn the Wolf. I was thinking about this awful Red Riding Hood Movie from 20whatever, where me and my best friend annoyed quite a few teenagers by giggling too much. In that movie there were Werewolves but not all of them evil and I think it was Gary Oldman who was an evil priest who wanted to kill all the heretics and stuff. And at first I wanted the First Order to be evil priests. Hence the title. But then I started to do a ton of worldbuilding, which was hugely inspired by my knowledge about the late antiquity in the Roman Provinces and the following centuries of the Early Middle Ages and the evil priest kinda got lost. But when I was reading the title again for this meme, I thought I should bring them back.
The plot of the Werewolf-Thingy is that Palpatine is basically building up an army of Werewolves to snatch his Empire back from Leia. Poe is captured by them and Finn, who is friends with Rey, who is Palpatine’s granddaughter in this, overhears some of Palpatine’s for her. He busts Poe out, so he can help him warn Rey. And then they have some weird DND’esque adventures and defeat Palpatine with the help of Armadillo-BB8 and some fae creatures you might recognise. Uff, that got wordy.
Have a snippet of dialogue:
“By all the thirteen gods of luck and prosperity, Finn, I want to kiss you so badly.”
“Why don’t you?”
“I don’t want to take advantage of you...”
“Just because I am inexperienced doesn’t mean I do not know what I want.”
“We are here and this place, it feels like it does something to us. I don’t want you to regret it. I’m more scared of you changing your mind later than of never being with you.”
“It’s a risk you have to take, Poe, you’ll have to trust me. But I can promise you this. I cannot think of any reason why I should change my mind. Shhh, don’t try to imagine a thousand reason in under a minute. Just trust me when I say I want to kiss you too.”
The Man and Monster WIP is the continuation of “Coming Alive”. Julian has invited Garak for Dinner and he is very nervous. He wants it to be perfect but is very unsure of himself. I think I posted part of it at some point, but just didn’t know how to continue and deleted it again. I still like the writing but I just can’t seem to find out how to resolve it.
Julian was incredibly nervous. His jittering had been so bad that Jebara had thrown him out of the infirmary an hour before his shift had ended.
Not only had the doctor come to a decision how to handle Garak's choices at the founders planet but he had more or less coerced the tailor into this rendezvous. Oh, how he wanted this relationship to work. Garak was one of the few persons who wasn't overwhelmed by him. Rather the other way round. So Julian had stopped holding himself back. It felt as if he hadn't been this close to anyone since his 15th birthday. And never had he been so ready just to let go of his secret. Every relationship he'd had - no matter how meaningful to him - took place in a space outside of this black box. He just didn't know how to be with someone completely as himself. If he was truely honest with himself, he himself had been very reluctant to open that box at all. As if acknowledging his enhancements would automatically made him a Khan Noonien Singh. Someone who categorises people into useful or burden to society. From a professional point of view the doctor knew this wasn't healthy. Neither for Julian nor for the parts of Jules which he still carried with him...
So he stood before the mirror in his bathroom staring at his face, into hazel eyes frantic with panic. A panic not of Garak but of himself. All these lunches with someone who actually lived the grays that Julian had tried to avoid his whole live had left an imprint. Not only in his heart but also in his soul. They weren't that different really, the exiled spy and the secret augment. And it scared Julian shitless.
He had always lived in the negation. He was not Jules. He was not what his parents wanted. He was not a real Human. His accomplishments were not his. But what was left of him, when he stopped being a good man?

Closing your eyes, you cast your head down, causing the loose strands of your hair to conceal your face from prying eyes as your lips begin to tremble. You try to block out the image of the orange flames consuming the thin paper of the Matchmaker’s fan, her eyes wide with terror as the fiery sea swallowed her wooden table, and almost, her dress. You had done everything you could to put the fire out, but the flames disobeyed.
Through the wisps of smoke curling around you, you feel nothing but a sea of fiery tears licking at your cheeks and burning your cracked lips.
“You may look like a bride, but you will never bring your family honor!”
You try not to flinch at her words as the Matchmaker sneers at you, her cheeks streaked with angry lines of dark ink, her lips smeared like red paint dripping on a canvas as her dark eyes narrowed in contempt. You could not put a brave face as you keep your head bowed, the bamboo of your fan threatening to snap from your iron fist as you hear the echoing footsteps of the Matchmaker disappear with a slam of her door.
With a deep breath cutting through your chest, you wipe your tears with the back of your hand and turn away, keeping your head low as the crowd begins to part for you. You fix your gaze on your silver skirt and clutch your fan to anchor you before you drown in an ocean of sympathetic, empathetic, and apathetic stares. Your ears catch their hushed whispers of gossip and contempt, and you give in.
“Poor girl, what is her family going to do now?”
“I always had a strange feeling about that girl. No wonder she can’t find herself a husband.”
“Her poor family … what would they say when they hear what happened?”
Hoisting your skirt at your hips, you look up and run, run as fast as you can and through the crowd of parents, daughters, and sons as you kick off your shoes and run. Run away from their scrutinizing gaze, their low whispers, their gossip. You run as far as you can as the tips of your skirt begins to turn green from the dewy drops jumping from the grass. You run until the people blur into an ocean and the rising branches of the trees appear like land from the sea. You run, run, run until your feet give out and your lungs burst, until you crash at the mouth of a stream.
You stop and fall to your knees as your spine curls over the edge. Slowly, you release your skirt and drop the fan beside you as you clutch the dewy grass and peer at your reflection staring at you from the river.
The girl in the reflection blinks at you, mirroring your confused gaze with a slight tilt of her head. She stares at you, her scarlet lips parted for air, her gaze blank beneath her darkly coated lashes.
You stare back at her. All you tried to do was move the Matchmaker’s fan from catching on fire when she bumped the table, but you had failed when the candle lit not only her fan, but the entire table, and almost the Matchmaker herself in the process.
“I will never pass for a perfect bride, or a perfect daughter,” you whisper, your reflection echoing your words with sorrowful eyes. Your reflection gazes back at you, and with an unsteady hand, you dip your sleeve into the water and watch as your reflection disperses into a vibration of ripples. Slowly, you press the damp sleeve to your face and wipe at your crimson-stained lips, your coated lashes, your blushing cheeks, your dark brows. After a moment, you cup your hands into the water and allow the coolness of the stream to wash over you, to cleanse you from the afternoon’s traumatic events, to free you from the paint your mother had tried to mold you in.
Almost hesitantly, you reach for the ribbon in your hair and pull it out. Your hair falls ungraciously onto your shoulders in a tangled nest, but you could not help but feel liberated as you brush your trembling fingers through your hair to comb out the knots, allowing the wind to seek shelter in your hair.
You dry your face with your dry sleeve and peer over the edge to look at your reflection once more. The girl in the water stares at you curiously, but radiates familiarity and modesty compared to the girl who had stared at you moments before.
With a shuddering sigh, you grab your fan and begin your walk back to your village. As you venture through the thicket of trees, the mishap sinks in. You messed up, and lost your chance of securing yourself a good husband. You were no longer a teenager, but a young woman trying to support her family. You weren’t a gunner like your sister, a fisherman like your father, a teacher like your mother. You were nothing but a medic volunteer, unpaid and unappreciated for your services while looking for work. You would not be a wife, and with a sinking realization, you are a nobody.
Who were you, truly, deep down inside?
Up ahead, you see the familiar huts of your village and hear the sounds of laughing children. Instead of heading back home, you pull up your skirt and make your way to the top of the hill, your eyes set on the temple resting at the top. Through the wind, you can almost hear the voices of your ancestors calling out to you, and you seek their comfort.
You stop until you spot the familiar bench at the end of the trail. The hill was not too high, but high enough to overlook most of your quaint village as you watch the children chase each other across the fields. A familiar X-Wing smiles at you from a distance, and your heart sinks.
Almost instinctively, your hands reach for the crescent necklace resting on your chest and beneath the layers of silk and fabric, and pull it out so it rests on the outside.
“You’re back so soon.”
You freeze, your hands shaking as you turn around. Your older sister, Lara, stands behind you, her hair tied back in a messy bun, a small smile on her face as she walks towards you.
“I take it that it went well?” She asks gently with a slight tilt of her head.
The words die in your throat. Rather than responding, you look down as the biting sting of tears threaten to spill from your eyes once more, and turn away. You couldn’t speak. How could you face her after what you had done? You failed her.
You don’t say anything as you hear her shuffle behind you. A moment later, she takes a seat beside you, but you still don’t say a word.
After a quiet moment, she takes the fan from your lap and gently taps your arm with the bamboo handle. “Remember when Mama gave me this fan?”
Hesitantly, you turn towards her and nod, not trusting your voice to speak.
Lara smiles gently again as she uncaps the fan, showcasing its golden intricate design across the red paper. “She was just your age when she first met Papa.”
You could not help but smile back. “Papa didn’t know how to flirt with her and she accidentally thought he was trying to make a pass at her.”
“And she slapped him with this fan, and gave this to me and said to use it as a weapon,” Lara adds as she snaps it shut, offering the handle to you, “just in case.”
A small laugh escapes your lips as you accept it.
“Are you insinuating that I keep this as a weapon?” You ask.
“Listen, Y/N,” your older sister sighs, “there’s a lot of cute moons here in Naboo. But there are other moons in the galaxy too.”
You nod, unsure of where she was going.
She turns to you and gently takes your crescent amulet between her fingers. “There are other moons and suns and stars in the galaxy, Y/N. But the one that’s worth waiting for will be the one lighting the sky beside you.”
You could not help but smile weakly. “Thank you, Lara.”
Your sister smiles softly. “Are you going to be okay?”
You nod, “I’m just going to stay here for a little while.”
“Okay,” Lara nods and stands, smoothing her hands over her skirt. “I’m gonna head back. If you need anything, BB8 and I will be there.”
You smile back at her and nod, watching her retreating back descend the hill. Slowly, you comb your fingers through your hair again as you overlook your little village from the temple, counting the heads of the fishermen, the children, the farmers. Somewhere down below, your parents were at home waiting for you, wondering if you found a husband. How could you tell them you failed?
Your gaze falls on the fan on your lap, reminding you of your sister’s words. As you lower your hands to grasp the object, the distant rumble of thunder echoes in the distance.
You pause, brows furrowed. The sky was cloudless, how could there be thunder?
Curious, you look up at the sky. In the distance, a white ship sails through the blue and descends towards the village. Although your village frequents travellers and tradesmen from time to time, there is something about that ship that isn’t right. It’s big and white, and as it approaches, your stomach turns.
The Resistance.
You ran as fast as you could, but you tripped over your ankles and skirt as you ran down the hill. Through the teasing cracks of the trees, the dark heads of the villagers scurry about with bursts of poppy orange blooming from the crowd. Your feet ache as you slip on the grass, trip over scratchy twigs, and bump into the trunks as you descend the hill. You could not hear, could not think of a possible reason why the Resistance would be here, of all places to be. You were in Republican territory--
Republican territory.
No. No, no, no.
You reach the bottom of the hill and sprint towards home, your hands aching from how tightly you were gripping your skirt. Your mother sits outside, weeping in your father’s arms as your grandmother sits silently a few feet away. A knife cuts deeper into your lungs with each gasping breath, but you push past the pain as you run up the wooden steps of your home and through the front door.
At the table, your sister sits with a holograph in her hand. A circular symbol glows in the center-
Your breath dies in your chest, your blood cold. Your sister rises as her eyes fall on you, her words inaudible as the muffled cries of your mother overpowers your senses.
Your sister reaches for you, but you pull away before her hand could reach for yours. You shake your head as your heartbeat thunders in your ears and pounds in your throat. The floor sways beneath you and the world spins.
“No,” you whisper with a shake of your head. Lara gazes at you, her eyes wide as she calls your name. “You can’t, you can’t, you already served and fought and almost lost your life.”
Your sister calls your name, but you shake your head again. A tear streaks down your cheek, followed by another. And another.
“Please, Lara,” you whimper as you meet her gaze. She could only look at you as her tears mirror your own. “Please, there are other people who can fight, please-”
This can’t be happening. This can’t-
You look to your older sister for answers, but her eyes hold the answer you were afraid to accept.
Lara sighs deeply as a tear falls from her eyes, eyes that match your mother’s and your own. “I’m sorry.”
Your body acts before you could speak. Your arms circle around her as you hold her in your arms and bury your face in her neck. You feel your sister hold you close, your skin tickling from her tears as you hold onto each other until your bones ache from holding onto her so tightly. You think back to the times your sister supported you and stayed by your side, even when all hope was lost.
You try to remind yourself of how strong your sister was throughout the night. As you sit beside her and help her fold your grandmother’s dumplings at the kitchen table, you do your best to smile to assure that you were okay. While your grandmother excused herself to make a cup of tea, you could not help but notice the sad look in your grandmother’s eyes, knowing that she only excused herself to fetch the kettle so she could wipe away the tears that threatened to spill onto her cheeks.
Lara continues with her story from when she first trained with her comrades, laughing at the memories as she reaches for the bamboo steamer. As she begins to steam the first batch, you quietly fold the next few as you try to follow her tale. Yet, you sneak a glance at your sister, cataloging the way she stands at the stove with her dark hair tied back into a loose braid, her excited smile at the savory aromas steaming from the bamboo steamer. Your parents come into the kitchen with your grandmother and begin a new conversation that you tune out of.
She’ll be fine, she came back home, you chide yourself as you wrap another dumpling, She’ll come back home, like always.
You repeat this to yourself like a mantra throughout the afternoon and throughout the night, even after you clean up the table. As your parents and grandmother leave for an evening prayer at the temple, you offer to stay behind to keep an eye out for your sister who was nowhere to be found inside the house.
Confused, you set your cup of tea on the table and walk out to the back just to catch the final rays of sunlight before the night consumes your village. As night falls, you find your sister sitting under a tree with her orange and white astromech droid by her side. Quickly, you slip back inside and peer at her through the kitchen window.
She fiddles at something in her lap with BB8 beeping something next to her. Lara blows the loose strands of her dark hair out of her face, her brows furrowed in frustration as BB8 nudges her arm. Something white glimmers in the light, and you stop.
It was her old blaster.
Biting her lip, she rolls her sleeves up and closes her eyes. Even though you couldn’t hear what she was saying, you already know. The blaster in her hand, the cartridges at her feet, her droid nudging at her arm. Her hands shake, and you catch a glimpse of the charred skin at her wrist.
You still remember the early morning she came home. Your parents were sound asleep while your grandmother was at the temple. You, on the other hand, were unable to sleep that night for a reason you could not explain. You had tossed and turned praying to the ancestors to sleep, but their voices kept you awake. Something had been keeping you up, and you could not figure out why.
Not until you left your room and walked into the kitchen to find your sister sitting at the table, her arm wrapped in a sling across her chest. Peeks of angry red skin scratched her neck like protruding veins, and her glassy eyes only passed through you for a brief moment until you called her name.
With a shout, her blaster drops to the grass. BB8 quickly nudges her arm to console her, but she only pushes him away. She could not reload her blaster, could not shoot, could not fight.
How could she fight?
You lay beside her that night with your eyes fixed on the ceiling and the window cracked open, a sliver of moonlight streaming across your sister’s sleeping form. Beside you, she sleeps, and you watch the steady rise and fall of her chest with each breath. Down the hall, your grandmother and parents sleep, but you are wide awake.
Lara did not say a word when she came back in, and you didn’t, either. Your parents and grandmother shared their last cup of tea with her at the porch, but you lingered behind, unable to shake the image of your sister struggling to hold her blaster in her hands. But as she left to retire for the night, your grandmother only brushed your hair out of your face and patted your cheek.
“Your sister is a strong woman, Y/N,” your grandmother told you. “I would not worry too much about her. She’ll always find her way home.”
You nodded. You wanted to tell her what you saw, but how could you? That was your sister’s secret, and who were you to betray her trust?
Yet, your grandmother smiled sadly. “She’s a lot like your Grand Uncle Chirrit.”
“Mama, I thought you said your brother was an idiot,” your mother chided from the kitchen.
Your grandmother laughs, but her jovial smile does not match her eyes.
As your parents retired to their room, your grandmother patted your hand. “I dream about your ancestors every night, and talk to them everyday.”
Your blood ran cold, your heart leaping to your throat.
“Lara is a brave woman,” your grandmother patted your hand again and turned to you, her voice low. “You and I both know that this time, she will not return.”
She will not return.
Your hands reach for the crescent necklace on your chest and you run your fingers over the ridges, your grandmother’s words echoing in your ears. While your grand uncle was no Jedi, your grandmother had always had a connection to your ancestors. She prayed at the temple every morning and every night, and each time she spoke about a revelation with your ancestors. There were times she was wrong, but there were times that she was right.
You denied it, but deep down, your stomach turns.
You cradle your necklace in your hands. On her bedside drawer, you find Lara’s matching sun necklace sitting beside the Resistance. Through the open window, the wind calls to you and whispers in your hair, their whispering voices calling to you like the moonlight reaching for your hands.
The Resistance symbol glimmers in the silver moonlight, smiling as if you shared a secret.
A fire burns in the pit of your belly as the wind calls to you and envelopes you in its embrace. Slowly, you unclasp your necklace and place the moon beside the symbol.
With a trembling breath, you press a kiss to your sister’s forehead for the last time.
You know what you have to do.

I woke up way too early the following morning, Lily didn’t even need me for final preparations until 10am and it was currently 7. I sighed stretching out, deciding that the best thing to do would be to get up because well there was no use staying in bed.
I got up, showered then got dressed. Today was going to be a long day so a healthy breakfast was probably the best idea so I didn’t get sick.
I walked out of my given room, the door whooshing open loudly I made my way down to the canteen. What I wasn’t expecting was it to be as busy as it was but then again this was a rebel base, I bet it was busy 24/7 unless everyone is out on the same mission.
I decided on some toast, it would give me the energy for the day but it wasn’t heavy enough to turn my stomach. I turned to find a empty table just behind me and starting heading to it but as I was half way there I heard a familiar annoying voice calling my name.
“This is the new girl?” Poe’s friend beamed at him from his side waving me over to sit with them.
“I think you mean hostage?” I gave Poe my best death glare and sat down opposite them. “Look if I have to spend the next two days with you, I’d rather you say what you have to say and fast so I can at least enjoy my breakfast in peace.”
He just stared at me in shook. “Oft I like her already! My names Finn by the way.” Finn leaned over the table reaching out his hand for me to shake.
I smiled at him then finally focused back on Poe who was giving Finn the sink eye. “So?”
His eyes locked back on mine. “I was just going to wish you luck for our mission, but now that you’ve been rude to me.” He sulked.
I just narrowed my eyes at him. “You haven’t really given me any reason TO be nice to you.”
“Look, I said I’m sorry. I saw a opportunity and I took it.” He shrugged leaning back with his arms crossed. I just rolled my eyes to distracted myself from looking at the muscles flexing in his toned arms.
“Yeah well I’m a person, not an object. You can’t just pluck me out of my life and dump me into a dangerous situation!” I stood up leaving my food on the table, suddenly I wasn’t hungry anymore. “I’ll see you on the ship.”
I stormed away deciding to just go wait with Lily, after an hour had passed it was already time to walk to the ship. I had told Lily about my outburst at breakfast to let off some steam. I just hoped Finn didn’t mind, I didn’t want him thinking that I was a hot head but then again he is friends with Poe, I have no doubts he probably pisses him off too. He seemed like a really nice guy though, shame he was friends with such an idiot.
When me and Lily reached the hanger we found the door to the ship already open, which meant Poe was already here. We walked up the ramp and into the base of the ship, it was a small ship but big enough to serve the purpose we needed it for.
“I’m going to go to the side room to get everything ready.” Lily pointed to a silver door still trying to juggle the mountain of clothes and the makeup trolley she dragged behind her. I did try to help but she refused.
“Okay, I’ll go see if Poe needs help.” I rolled my eyes and she just giggled at me.
She pointed at me the best she could. “No arguing, you need you focus for the missions sake, then when you’re back and base you can kill each other.”
“I’ll try my best, can’t promise anything.” I saluted her and walked off to the cockpit.
As soon as I walked in noticed him in the pilots seat, it looked like him and BB8 were setting up the controls.  I thought I had gone unnoticed so I went quietly about setting up and getting myself familiar with the ship, but then his familiar voice pierced the silence.
“I want to apologise for this morning, the way I acted.”
I turned surprised. “ Is it just the fumes messing with my head, or did THE Poe Dameron just apologise to me?”
He just sighed and sunk into his seat further. “I just want to go into this mission with a good vibe between us okay.”
“Okay.” I walked closer to him and shook his hand, BB8 from the side of me started beeping happily. We both turned to him laughing. “But I still don’t forgive you for kidnapping me, It’s going to take more than an apology and a handshake to make up for that.”
I released his hand just as BB8 made a sad whirling noise and slid his little head down. I knelt down so I was face level with the droid. “Don’t worry pipsqueak, I could never be mad at you.” He made a high pitched whirl when I kissed him on top of his head.
Chuckling to myself at how adorable he was I stood up to get ready for take off. Poe just scoffed behind me. “Hey buddy! Remember who’s side your on!” I heard him whisper which made me chuckle even more.
About an hour into the journey I had made my way to the co-pilot’s seat, not one of us had spoken a single word but it wasn’t awkward at all. Even though I disliked the person sitting next to me I felt oddly comfortable in his presence, that didn’t mean that I’d ever forgive him though.
“Solar, It’s time to get ready.” I turned to see Lily standing in the doorway smiling at me.
I sighed. “I’ll see you on the other side Dameron.”
He turned in his chair smirking at me as I began to walk to the door. “When we land I’ll be going straight in as you won’t be ready so just come in the front entrance when you’re ready.”
“Ay Ay captain.” I shouted as I turned the corner.
About half an hour later just as Lily had done setting my hair we felt the ship touch down and the engines go quiet. I took a deep breath trying to keep myself calm.
She grabbed my shoulder and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “You’re going to be fine, he might be an ass but he is kind of a badass.” She shrugged her shoulders, I just laughed at her. “ He’ll keep you safe, no doubt about it.”
With that I got up and headed to the little room at the side to put my dress on, when I came out Lily was staring at me with wide eyes.

“What? Is it that bad?” I turned quickly to look at myself in the mirror.  “It’s stunning.” Lily whispered.
“Wow, I’ve never seen myself like this.” I spun in the mirror, genuinely smiling for once.
“You’re going to knock Poe’s socks off!” Lily said excitedly.
I spun around so fast that I nearly tripped in my heels. “Shit! Poe, I’m late!” I started rushing out the door, but before I could forget I stuck my head back around the door and thanked Lily for the help. Blowing her a kiss as I scurried off again.
As carefully as I could in my heels I made my way down the hatch to the bay and straight to the main entrance, I could hear the music from inside and the cheery voices most likely from drunk patrons fooling around.  Both doors opened wide, once I stepped foot over the thresh hold I knew this was it. I’d have to be calm and collected now, I had to put on my best game face.
Everyone I passed stared at me, I don’t know if it was my immaculate appearance or that I was just a new face in a circle where everyone knew everyone.  When I rounded the corner I spotted Poe, He was leaning against the bar. He wore smart suit pants, a tight white button up with a bow tie, but in true Poe fashion instead of a suit jacket he wore a styled black leather jacket.
I started walking towards him when he looked up from the person he was in conversation with, as soon as are eyes locked I froze in place. It was like we were seeing each other for the first time, it was mesmerising.
He placed his glass on the bar behind him, never breaking eye contact with me and started to walk forward. Suddenly all I could see in front of my face was a black moustache that was curled up at both ends, I let out a breath I didn’t even know I was holding and looked up. A oldish man was staring down at me.
“What is a pretty young thing like you doing standing here alone?” My stomach churned, I took a step back to make some space between us.
I stepped to the side a little, just to make sure I could still see Poe who had gone back to leaning against the bar. He was burning holes into the back of the man in front of me. “I’m not alone.”
He must have caught my stare over his shoulder, curiosity got the best of him and he turned to see Poe staring. “He’s handsome, I’ll give him that.” he turned back around and grabbed my hand. “But he looks poor, but I’m rich so I think I win sweetheart.”
I looked back over to Poe to ground myself, looking up I saw him making the signal to me that this was our guy.  I groaned in my mind, this creep that was already touching me was our mark.
“Well lucky me you were the first person that I bumped into.” I gave him a sweetening smile that made even me feel sick.
“Shall we?” He said pointing to a dark booth in the corner.
