If you could have continued Eclipse's story in the archie comics (and staying within the parameters already set in his first two arcs) what would you have done with him next?
Ooh, this is an interesting one, since the redemption arc I gave him in my own little universe goes A BIT off from those parameters (and by a bit I mean he teams up with Mephiles and Infinite of all characters in the beginning, so...not a bit lmao) But if I were to stay within said parameters and make it as "post-reboot archie" as possible? (Apologies for what will probably be a horrible summary bc I've thought more about my current version than this one, this might flop but idc lol)
KINDA LONG POST WARNING!
I think I'd have him stumble into Sonic somehow, since it was heavily implied that he was going to meet Sonic anyways. Of course they'd probably fight at least once in the beginning, because I'd think by then Eclipse is more paranoid and basically on survival mode again. Sonic has no idea WHY this guy just started fighting, but after a good while of it, he's just trying to explain that he only wants to help and isn't going to hurt him, or the wisp thingies it looks like he's trying to protect. Eclipse pauses for a moment, but doesn't let his guard down too much. After a little silence he sourly corrects the blue hedgehog, telling him they're not "wisp thingies," they're Dark Arms. While still suspicious of Sonic, the Dark Arms start "talking" to him (those noises they make,) telling him Sonic doesn't seem to be a bad person. They have a weird ability to sense those kind of people. He may not trust this "Sonic," as he calls himself, but Eclipse DOES trust the Dark Arms. Sonic extends his hand forward to show Eclipse that he wants to help him. Eclipse doesn't grab it, he just sighs and reluctantly agrees. After all, he doesn't SEEM to be like Shadow...Sonic seems to be the exact opposite, actually. Maybe that's a good thing? (Then Sonic asks him his name and all that stuff, but of course he doesn't reply instantly.)
So Sonic would probably take Eclipse to introduce to Tails' first, to which Eclipse is also naturally pretty paranoid about, though he won't voice that openly. Sonic assures Eclipse Tails is a good person too, though. "He's my little buddy and bro! Smartest kid you'll ever meet." (Yes I do see Sonic and Tails as reverse Shadow and Eclipse what of it-)
Tails immediately takes great interest in Eclipse and the Dark Arms. He's amazed by them, what are they? Where did they come from? How come the little creatures look so much like wisp? But different too? And Eclipse doesn't look like any mobian he's ever seen either-
Sonic has to take a second to tell Tails to maybe calm down on the questions after noticing Eclipse looking a bit uncomfortable with the amount of them he was receiving. Tails sheepishly apologizes, instead offering to show Eclipse around his little lab (or wherever it is he is right now, that's a small detail I've forgotten about archie.) They can't do much though before they hear someone outside, someone yelling Sonic's name, saying something about "knowing they have him in there," and how they can't hide him in there forever. Eclipse of course immediately recognizes who it is, due to a certain connection, and starts to panic, looking around for any possible way he and the Dark Arms can escape.
Tails takes notice, alerts Sonic, and they try to figure out what's going on. But before they can, the front door is forced open. Shadow's there, and he looks even worse than usual (as noted by Sonic.)
"So? Is he in there or not?" Eclipse hears another familiar voice, that of one of "Shadow's minions" (I love when he calls them that lmao. Also Omega is here too, I just can't find any clear way to explain that rn.) He knows he should probably just leave with the Dark Arms now, but he can't. He can't move. Why can't he move? Why is he AFRAID of them? He even fought them before and WON.
But that was before. Things were different now and everything was painful and scary.
(I'm so going to regret typing out more dialogue but here I am doing it anyway)
"Yeah, he's there, and these two are protecting him."
"Protecting him? We don't even know what's going on here!" Sonic turns back to Eclipse. "You know Shadow?"
"He's part of the Black Arms. The last one left. And I need to be the one to make sure he can't be around cause the same harm to the planet they did."
"Wait, the Black Arms?" Tails chimes in. "But...I thought you had already destroyed them all, Shadow? We all saw you destroy the Black Comet that day!"
"He did." Eclipse glares at Shadow, and he shoots one back.
"Then how could there be any more?"
Then Shadow goes on to explain the events of Shadow Fall, and to add to it, the events of Total Eclipse to explain more about the things Eclipse has already done to nearly put the planet in jeopardy. (I could imagine Omega is outside boosting all this, he wants vengeance on the small alien who maimed him. But could still defeat. His words.) This of course gets Eclipse pretty angry. He was only trying to restart the species SHADOW destroyed! The one he himself was a part of too! It was absolute betrayal, and yet he still had the audacity to pin it all on his own brother?
So yeah they end up fighting outside until Sonic and Tails manage to break it up. They need to work this out. Shadow and Eclipse are absolutely appalled. They both think the other is in the wrong, why on earth would they ever "work this out?"
I'm going to start summarizing even more now for the rest bc this is getting to be a bit long (Ik it takes place over a long series of events but yeah.) Basically Sonic and Tails want to put Shadow and Eclipse through some Steven Universe ass bonding to get them through their differences, while also being sensitive to what happened to both of them. (I think after a while even Rouge would start to see this would be good for the both of them, even IF Eclipse broke her shoulder. She'd still be kind of bitter about that btw and probably mention it even once. And Omega is naturally Omega.)
Also Shadow and Eclipse go through a bunch of stuff together. And they start bonding? And maybe Shadow was being kind of harsh on him? Maybe he shouldn't be so hard on this kid JUST because he's a Black Arms. Shadow wasn't raised like Eclipse was...maybe that has something to do with his reluctance towards them? They're actually pretty similar to each other in other ways, it seems. Hey, Shadow's actually a pretty decent person once you get to know him. And it turns out Eclipse isn't such a monster after all? He's not like Black Doom at all...that's what Shadow always saw the Black Arms as in general anyways. But Eclipse has a heart. He's pretty annoying, but in a weirdly endearing way? Holy shit, maybe this could ACTUALLY work. Maybe they could be brothers. For real this time.
Not sure what much else I could write, but there's something. I just had to make it a redemption arc for the bros didn't I.

7, 10, 18, 33 for infinite ask thing
7. what do you think his parents were like?
Idk, I think of him as an orphan in the middle of a civil war inside some desert country, hiding around, looting corpses, he doesn't remember his parents and neither do I >:Đ
That said I've been toying with an idea of him not being completely alone, being cared for by an older wolf girl, probably still a teen. She fed him, teached him how to steal things and loot stuff. I haven't designed her yet, but I think she will be an ethiopian wolf. She had the same hairstyle that Infinite will have. They got separated at some point after trying to steal from GUN's "peacekeeping forces" and never saw each other again, who knows if she's alive somewhere out there.
Tumblr media
10. how do you think he met his team, and why did he become a mercenary?
Infinite was basically kidnapped into GUN's mobian squad project, they wanted to create a loyal military force out of the locals so the puppet government will be more legitimate when they unite the country.
They kidnapped orphans for recruitment, no one will question their disappearance in the midst of chaos. The girl that cared for Infinite was too old and avoided abduction because of that.
The idea doesn't sound too bad until you realise that those kids were at full mercy of the soldiers (humans btw, human on mobian violence galore). It was a deathrace, weak did not survive. That's where Infinite met his future squad. He became their leader by a pure virtue of being the strongest, they wouldn't recognise him as such otherwise. After a certain very fucked up incident (hehe tune in to learn more), they decided to run away.
They killed their officers and ran, that's how they became wanted by GUN. As soon as they got out they started doing exactly what they were taught to do, they started killing. For money, for food, for water, for weapons it was a way to obtain anything they would ever need. That's how they became a feared mercenary group.
18. how do you feel about shadow killing squad jackal? do you headcanon otherwise?
I do not enjoy violence, but this event intrigues me. Some people say that Shadow would never do such a thing, but I think otherwise. Shadow as much as he secretly and not so secretly cares about his friends, is not an understanding type.
I think that Shadow is literally the reason Mephiles turned out evil, no dialogue had, no chance given, just sealed away for presumably forever (for 10 years) for a crime of being created against your own will by humans (Mephiles didn't do a thing at this point in time). Doesn't it sound awfully familiar?
Shadow is a hypocrite, he will not hesitate to strike against the enemies of humanity (I think his time working for GUN worsened him). He will not hear them out, he will not show them mercy despite originating in the same way. He keeps his promise to Maria in form, but not in substance. He will save this world for his sister, but it doesn't mean that Shadow became more kind-hearted than he was.
Jackal squad is just another stepping stone on his way "if they work for Eggman they deserve to die". I think he left Infinite alive just so that GUN could question him later, but Eggman got to Infinite before them.
Idk I am just very thrilled to explore this whole situation, I wanna see the payback, I wanna see Shadow's ruthlessness acknowledged and addressed by other characters. Considering that his recent dirty deed backfired into the biggest shitshow in sonic history, he will get opposed.
33. what do you think his plans were after the war? if they had won... what next?

I like how you wrote yandere shadow and silver with a reader who makes masks. could you also write to yandere mephiles, yandere infinite and yandere knuckles with a reader who makes masks and wears them because they don't like their face?
Imagine: Platonic Yandere Mephiles the Dark, Infinite the Jackal & Knuckles the Echidna with a reader who makes & wears masks
TW: Implied violence/bullying/murder, slight body horror & mentions of blood
Mephiles the Dark:
Few to none apprehend what this god actually looks like as he took on a eerie appearance of the ultimate life via his shadow. Mephiles' love for misery & dejection knows no boundaries as he hurls insult after insult at whoever just because.
Being sealed away for decades away from his other half, Mephiles isn't the most familiar when it comes to seeing a wide variety of looks & as such, tends to pick on your odd masks. Any genuine question from him comes off as supercilious & almost mocking, if he notices you shift anxiously with the slightest hint of fear, Mephiles will eat it right up! Don't expect him to stop anytime now...or ever.
Though choosing to spend his time tormenting you this god has a "No one else can pick on you but me" mentality & if hearing or seeing another do so for your mask, Mephiles is more than elated to have you personally watch him coil & contort the individual in ways no body should be able too until they're indistinguishable. He'll do all of this without an ounce of remorse or care for their pitiful life, in his words "it is what they deserve for messing with what's cleary mine"
Infinite the Jackal:
Only those from the past long gone have seen what the now possessed jackal's face look like, scars from his many battles with his squad where he typically was triumphal. The jackal doesn't appreciate questions of his face behind the mask & those that do end up vanishing & then found days later in pieces.
With a cunning remark here & there, Infinite never truly expounds one's chose of attire which is conspicuous as he never questions why you wear a mask to begin with, presuming that it is to hide your own scars. As wicked as the ruby has corrupted him to be, he acts like a cat needy of attention considering the many times he's nearly ravaged one of your many masks with only an apology that doesn't feel sincere.
Infinite forever finds your distress jocular, especially in situations where you have absolutely no control on the outcome & so doesn't intervene when another picks on you & is ill about your mask. Even when relishing on the growing despair eating away at you bit by bit, Infinite believes that those who attempt to remove your mask forcefully is crossing the line & will have them questioning their reality before having their blood paint the ground below them.
Knuckles the Echidna:
Being alone with the duty of watching over the Master Emerald on Angel Island, Knuckles could only theorize one what the world outside of the island is like. When meeting Sonic & finally getting to see the outside world, it wouldn't come to a surprise if he was a bit overwhelmed by other's eminent appearance & characteristics.
The guardian tends to ask questions at moments he shouldn't due to his social naivety, all you have to say is that you don't want to be asked about why you wear your mask & he'll keep his word to never utter it again. Knuckles shifts to a curious child when watching you make your masks, prompting question after question of your process, he might even be open to being taught how to make them if you ask.
The echidna is a man of honor through & through & any comment made of you is seen as an atrocity to him, in which he demands that they apologize for saying such a thing. You'd have to hold him back from attacking the individual if they wish to remain obstinate of what they said, where Knuckles would feel as if he failed his code by failing to uphold your honor. But if he ever finds the person again without you around, he wouldn't be opposed to "educating" them on diffidence.

2, 5, 12, 21 for Eggman :)
2. Favourite canon thing about this character?
How am I supposed to choose? D: There's how funny he is, how evil he is, how clever he is, how creative he is, how persistent he is...
I do especially love how hands-on he is with his schemes. It's one aspect of many that sets him apart from other villains, and when you think about it, his eager dedication to his work ties-in to how his (evil) willpower in general is comparable to Sonic's own. I think it's one of those things that, while not as immediately apparent as some of his other traits, is nonetheless equally important to maintain.
5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them?
Boss themes and level themes are an impossible one for me to pin down thanks to the sheer number of bangers associated with him over the years, and how they're great and iconic for different reasons depending on which one we're talking about.
Leitmotifs, on the other hand...
youtube
Make no mistake, E.G.G.M.A.N. and the '06 theme are both great, but this one really makes you feel like he's about to bust your windows and break your back like Bane broke Batman. It's so goddamn loud and intrusive, which means it's perfect for him. Not to mention there still remains a sinister undertone, since it usually signified that he was about to make things worse for our heroes.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
1. The dart one. Where he has a dartboard with Sonic's face on it in every single base. Including each ship that makes up the Egg Fleet. Just in case he's there and needs to unwind.
2. He doesn't remember much about his parents... and largely doesn't care.
3. He used some of Gerald's inheritance money just to quickly get himself off the ground when he began scheming, but this wasn't for long. Once he had some solid footing, he began earning all his money and resources through his own means, be it mining operations, entertainment facilities...
4. He has a list of all the times he tricked Knuckles. He also has a list of all the evildoers who attempted to usurp him that are coincidentally no longer with us.
5. While Eggman was disappointed in Metal Sonic for betraying and impersonating him in Heroes, he was even more disappointed that he wasn't even that good at it. If you're going to impersonate the world's most brilliant genius, you better not make an arse of it.
6. By the time Infinite made his "decades" remark, Eggman was already planning on getting rid of him, because the moment someone shows him disrespect, they're on his shitlist. One blunder too many from Infinite was simply a convenient excuse that the doctor wasted no time in taking advantage of. That's why it happened so quickly and casually: he already made up his mind on Infinite's fate ages ago.
7. To this day, Eggman feels a sense of possessiveness over Shadow, and would still prefer to have Gerald's magnum opus under his thumb. He knows that's not likely at this point though, so he remains unbothered about killing him if need be.
8. The first robot he ever made was a prototype Motobug.
9. And on the subject of Badniks, one reason why so many of them are based on animals and foliage is because it's his way of trying to one-up Mother Nature. What's better than dinosaurs? Dinosaurs with machine guns.
10. He scrapped SA-55 for grating on him too much with his snarky backtalk, and replaced him with Orbot, whose comments he can tolerate more because they tend to be said with a tone of fear.
11. While his taste for theme parks is genuine, he also makes them as a way to mock Sonic, by creating something full of cheer and laughter as Sonic is consistently seconds away from death.
12. Eggman likes to accuse Sonic of being a horsefucker.
There's actually even more I have, but I'd be here all day. What do you expect, he's my favourite character of all time. XP
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favourite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I could take the easy way out and say all of it is my favourite part and none of it is my least favourite, because he's just that fun and diabolical. But if I have to single out something that doesn't get brought up that often, I like to emphasize - sometimes blatantly, sometimes subtly - how uncanny he can be.
You see, it's known at this point that I don't exactly love it when Sonic and Co are given ridiculous meme faces and other over-exaggerated qualities (not counting unintentional examples like SA1's animation, which remain endearing in part because they're unintentional). Yes, they are cartoon characters, and yes, they can show a cartoony side, but they're not deranged off-the-wall loonies doped up on heroin, and it's more than possible to let them react to things in a dignified way that remains in-character.
But then there's Eggman. He's the exception. He can get away with all the goofy faces and abstract gestures he wants, because that's already who Eggman is. I just think the idea of the guy without powers being the one who has all this insane energy and ability to borderline distort his face really goes a long way to establishing how eerily off he is compared to everyone else, and serves as a low-key reminder that his human status and lack of traditional superpowers is not a limitation for him.

I saw someone mention Infinite x Eclipse and honestly?
THAT IS ALSO FUCKING FUNNY.
Most of my stories have Eclipse redeemed and working with Team Dark as an agent of GUN. In that case, it would be ECLIPSE helping Infinite.
Y'all know how Shadow would be annoyed at Eclipse expressing romantic interest in Sonic?
He would be P I S S E D if he had feelings for that jackal. We are talking EXTREME protective brother mode. To the point, he would not let Infinite alone in a room with his brother.
In fact? He would stand in between them and if Infinite took a small step forward, Shadow would instantly push Eclipse behind him and get ready to fight.
Eclipse just being confused. All he knows is that Shadow and Infinite have beef with each other. Which is not uncommon for his brother. His older brother has a habit of beefing with dangerous people. But why this MUCH aggression?? He enjoys the jackal's company a ton but doesn't want his big brother to feel like he's betraying him. They quite literally have come so far with their brotherhood. He does NOT want it ruined.
And then there's Infinite. Infinite who met this Darkling by chance and has grown rather fond of him. Only to find out he's SHADOW'S little brother. This just makes this hella complicated, cause how can anyone so kind be related to the person that MURDERED his family??? He knows if they were to pursue anything even slightly romantic with each other (and he is deffo interested in Eclipse), then it would lead to a mess. Not so much for him, as he doesn't really have anything he's extremely attached to, ergo he has nothing to lose. His family is gone. His reputation has been pretty hard ever since he was a teen, so that's nothing new.
But Eclipse? Eclipse has so much he could lose if he tried to become romantically involved with him. His brother would be furious. Alongside Rouge and Omega, and pretty much Sonic and the others. He could also lose his position at GUN, and Abe's respect and care. So, that's pretty much his entire newfound family being destroyed. Along with his reputation and safety. Eclipse would become hated and hunted, going straight back to square one.
Infinite would never want that for him. Not when he came so far. And, as much as he despises Shadow, he would never ask someone to turn against their brother. Regardless of whether that was Shadow or not.
And finally, there's Shadow. Shadow who did kill the Jackal Squad. Not because he WANTED to, but because he HAD to. They were working for Eggman, and while Shadow could look past that if they tried to realize it was wrong (because he's been there), it was more the case of the Squad were merciless. Especially Uno. It was both self-defense and a necessity. For both him and innocent people.
Does he regret it? Yes. But also at the time, he was fueled by rage and despair by the time he faced Infinite. Because he felt those Jackals could have had a better life, if he just had the answers. SO when he insulted Infinite the way he did? It was more out of frustration about HIMSELF.
Cause here he is, trying to do better and he failed helping an entire squad. That resulted in their deaths. In his head was: Sonic could have done it. Literally, anyone could have. So why couldn't I?
He HATES himself for that and it haunts him every moment of every day. Especially when he saw what Infinite became. In his head, he once again ruined someone's life because he was useless to help. But he doesn't want Eclipse to know this. Yes, Eclipse knows Shadow killed Doom and Death, but this is different. The Squad were regular people trying to make a living and survive. And he KILLED them.
He's scared. Scared that his little brother will look at him differently and hate him. Run off with Infinite and never speak to him again. Their brotherhood would be erased, after all the hard work they BOTH did to heal it. And he would not blame him. Or Infinite.
Woooooww. This turned into a lengthy one, but I had a LOT of thoughts about this one. A lot of this is just my own personal thoughts on the whole Jackal Squad thing. I do believe Shadow killed them, because he has killed people before. (Black Death as an example). But I do NOT think it was malicious in any sense. I believe the Squad shot first and Shadow defended himself, which sadly led to that. And i do not care, i do believe Shadow deeply regrets it.
Thanks for reading! Lemme know your thoughts!

shadow the hedgehog
One aspect I love: how much he cares for those he loves and how he is made up of each of them. everyone he has ever loved is part of the picture that is shadow, makes up every atom of his being.
One aspect I wish more people understood about them: his whole character arc is about self-autonomy and doing what he wants to do, not because others have told him to do. sth is a series about finding personal freedom and sonic helps those around him find their way to achieve that specific freedom. for shadow, it's moving on and not letting the promises made to those who have long since passed dictate who he is or what he does. not letting anyone dictate his path. it's about passing on from grief and starting fresh, while still honoring those you have loved. there's a reason why majority of his villains have all wanted to control shadow in some shape or form. gerald, eggman using him as the basis for the androids, black doom, mephiles, even infinite. and each time he comes back, reasserting himself and piecing himself together. im gonna cut this off here bc i am way too wordy when it comes to shadow the hedgehog.
One (or more) headcanon(s) I have about them: he's actually shorter but his air shoes give him extra height the airshoes are actually mobility devices!! This Hedgehog is Trans Masc. he/they pronouns frfr chileno. trust me. he has sharp claws! he's a living chaos energy battery basically. the way the inhibitor rings work is that they regulate his innate chaos energy by helping it circulate more easily. once he takes them off, his power is no longer restrained but its because the chaos energy is coming out of him at a greater quantity so he is effectively a glass canon. he ended up leaving his super form because while sonic has harnessed his chaos energy to go super, shadow honed it into his chaos control/snap/spears/etc. his favorite color is actually yellow because it reminds him of maria's hair and he loved playing it when he was a kid maria called him "mi sombrita" (my little shadow) and thats where he got his name he knows how to dance! is very good at it!! he started staying with rouge and omega only after shit went down in shth 2005 before that he was wandering and thats why he looks unkept in the renders
One character I love seeing them interact with: TEAM DARK RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH TEAM DARK LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
One character I wish they would interact with/interact with more: need more interactions with surge and metal sonic dear god there's something i can say about being created/changed for a purpose and trying to figure out if there is more to you than just that. i am going to scream.
One (or more) headcanon(s) I have that involve them and one other character: he loves cream and charmy and is so willing to babysit whenever vanilla or vector asks he and omega have been banned from 8 different rage rooms because they rage a little too hard and destroy fucking everything he enjoys spending time with amy and tails because they remind him of maria knuckles will sometimes let him chill on top of the emerald like he lets rouge do just because the natural powers of the chaos emerald help his chaos energy feel more calm. perfect nap spot. he and omega gave the shovel talk to knuckles but then they ended up just fighting bc they were bored. they knocked over some trees. sonic drags shadow to different places to get him fully familiarized with the 21st century. shadow makes a show about protesting but he genuinely considers sonic a good friend. sonic and shadow had a big conversation about what happened in sa2 and shadow doesn't remember everything but sonic just had to let some things off his chest (their therapist recommended talking it out. 5 months ago.) shadow helped sonic out after the aftermath of frontiers shadow and metal are friends. fuck you sega. vector was the one who actually mentioned the idea of therapy to shadow and rouge after shth 2005
OKAY THATS ENOUGH I HVE TO STOP IT HERE THIS IS ALREADY SO FUCKING LONG
Send me more characters!

Ok ok. Sorry to continue on my Glitchtalw ramblings, but I have an idea as to how to fix Bête Noire.
She should be more of a foil to Frisk.
Of course, they're enemies, but they don't seem to have an ideaological clash or distinctly counter personalities. Both of them can be as cruel as needed, and play the sweet innocent kid when it benefits them. Of course, Frisk's characterization is another issue, but point is their clash doesn't mean much. Betty wants to kill their friends for some reason, and they don't like that.
Imagine for a second that Betty is the Shadow to Frisk's Sonic. If Frisk's Determination powers weren't thrown out of the story, Betty's mind reading power gives her a tangible advantage over Frisk. She will never attack the same way twice. Frisk is able to survive fights by doing them over until they know the pattern by heart. But since Betty can see they already know what she was planning to do, she can do something else, thus making it more difficult than ever for Frisk to fight her. Imagine if Betty's personality and motives were consistent. Say she genuinely believes that humans and monsters shouldn't live together because it prevents the casualities of potential war. Let me start with the changes to her backstory.
In Glitchtale as it stands, Agate Lightvale, Betty's ""mother"", was one of the wizards who made the barrier. Her brother, Copper Lightvale, wanted to break the barrier, a fee years after they sealed it. Agate does not because the war sucked. Agate decides to go "fight me bro" and gets beat up. She pulls an Infinite from Sonic Forces and comes back after "inverting her SOUL trait" to kill her brother out of spite. The process of becoming Fear instead of Bravery slowly kills her, so she creates Betty to "ensure that humans and monsters will never live in peace." Full stop. Now, here's the changes. Say that Agate was not just upset about the war, but actively traumatized by the cost of life. While she doesn't like monsters, she's of the opinion it's better for both sides to stay seperate. When Copper suggests breaking the barrier, some years down the line, those feelings surface, and she makes the fight offer in a panic.
"I'm doing this to keep our people safe! If you want to endager all that we worked for, you'll have to kill me first!"
Copper would accept and fight his sister, but not kill her. He announces the barrier will be broken, but Agate snaps, the fear takes over, and she kills Copper then and there, in front of everyone. This is the process that changes bravery to fear. She flees the city and ends up creating Bête Noire to protect the barrier. She can't go back because she would be too weak to fight them all off. Since they're the basically the same person, Betty carries with her Agates fears. Imagine how this affects her actions down the road.
She would likely take fights more seriously. Instead of going all "oooo I'm edgy villain 😈😈😈" she would genuinely believe that preventing humans and monsters from living together is in the best interests of both groups. Perhaps she wouldn't take pleasure in suffering, which funnily enough is counter to Frisk, who did a genocide run because they wanted to see what would happen, knowing full well they would be brutally killing everything. Imagine if she actually embodied fear. Agate's fears. Imagine if no one knew who or what she was because all she ever did was watch the barrier. She could genuinely be a foil to Frisk's Determination and encourage their character development. It would encourage them to decide what they believe in, what the fight for. This hypothetical Betty can't be talked down on "you don't have to kill" or "friendship is nice" grounds because she already knows. She isn't killing for power or fun, she does it because she believe that there can't be peace between humans and monsters. Her actions would be in line with that. No excessive killing of either race.
Personality wise she could also be more of a foil. Frisk is a goofy traumatized child. They like to crack jokes, have fun, and do what makes them feel good, with no regard for the consequences. They aren't a great person, but they could be worse. Of course, if they committed genocide then went back and didnt do it because killing isn't really that fun, that makes them a worse person, but still. They can be very goofy, but they'll stop at nothing to achieve their goals. They like their friends, but with their power, it's hard for them to really be attached. Imagine if Betty's personality clashed with theirs. Frisk's funloving and rather careless front with an underlying sense of pure determination, clashed with an unrelenting stoicism and more respectful persona, with rage and terror bubbling beneath. Frisk doesn't know what they want, Betty knows exactly what she wants.
I'm running out of steam, gonna stop here

Conversation
Sonic characters and how good I think they are at cooking
Sonic: Only knows how to heat up frozen foods and pour milk on cereal
Tails: He's good at following directions but he's not about to pull a Ratatouille
Knuckles: Angel Island is largely wilderness so he probably only knows how to forage, but he knows his spices
Amy: A goddess in the kitchen, can sauté mushrooms as effortlessly as she can boil sugar into caramel; according to Sonic X she wants to open her own restaurant and I love that for her
Cream: Can't use the stove or sharp utensils without adult supervision but she's a very good helper; learned by watching her mom and Amy
Shadow: This guy eats raw coffee beans and pizza rolls, I doubt he's ever LOOKED at a pot of water (he also probably ate freeze-dried foods on the ARK)
Rouge: She might know how to prep drinks (both alcoholic and not, despite being under 21) but that's about it
Omega: I hope you like your kitchen destroyed and your food cartoonishly burnt to ashes
Eggman: Why bother making your own food when you have robots (and Agent Stone) to do that for you? (That might explain why Chip thinks all the food at Eggmanland is disgusting)
Agent Stone: A TOTAL coffee snob, obviously; went to all the best culinary schools and isn't afraid to flaunt it; he may be a villain but if you ask for nondairy milk he'll give you nondairy milk b/c only a monster would swap it out for cow's milk
Blaze: Sonic Channel artwork has shown that she burns everything she cooks
Silver: This boy has only eaten concrete in his entire life and is driven to tears of joy by the taste of canned chicken noodle soup; if Amy took him under her wing he might be pretty good at it
Team Chaotix: In true Dad fashion, Vector can work a grill, make grilled cheese, and boil pasta; Espio is probably decent at meal prep and willing to help Vector in the kitchen; Charmy is six so he's allowed to stir the bowl, decorate, and nothing else
Big: He only knows how to cook one thing and it's fish; he and Amy could probably tag-team on a nice fish dinner tho
Vanilla: Shadow got excited during the Twitter Takeover when Tails said she was making dinner so I don't think I need to say anything
Gemerl: He's not nearly as bad as Omega but he feels more comfortable setting the table and leaving the cooking to Vanilla
Babylon Rogues: Storm is the only reason Jet and Wave aren't subsisting off of takeout and junk; I like to think he knows/has some of their ancestors' recipes
Sticks: Same as Knuckles; refuses to eat anything that came out of a microwave because something something government surveillance
Infinite: He just barely knows how to hunt and cook what he catches (probably relied on someone else in his old squad to do all the cooking)
Mighty and Ray: Mighty probably learned to grill from Vector; Ray gets nervous about using the stove/oven so he just lets Mighty handle it
Tangle: Seems like she'd burn the kitchen down but is a surprisingly capable cook, doesn't do anything too fancy tho; watches a lot of Tasty recipes
Whisper: Also a forager but has a sweet tooth; do not let her into your kitchen
Jewel: Can make a pretty bomb-ass salad
Rough & Tumble: Takeout gremlins; their attacks are based on skunk spray so I wouldn't trust them in my worst enemies' kitchens
Belle: Has the tools to cook b/c she's a robot but she can't taste anything so she has no idea how good it'd be; better off helping another cook
Surge: I WOULDN'T LET THIS LITTLE FREAK (affectionate) NEAR A TOASTER
Kit: Same as Tails but he usually only wants to eat Kid Cuisine (Tails eats Lunchables)
Starline: He can brew tea and that's it; "Cooking is for robots, poors, and slave labor"
Deadly Six: Bold of you to assume these guys do ANYTHING for themselves other than fight

"What are your plans for the prisoner?" Infinite asks, curious.
Eggman glances away from the security monitor to look at him. Infinite keeps his back straight, but there’s something about that look on his face that makes him feel meek. Infinite has the power of a god, but that power means nothing to the man who can’t be affected by it.
“Why do you care?” He counters. He appears a bit perturbed at being questioned, though Infinite is certain this prompt for a monologue is actually what he was looking for. “I thought Shadow the Hedgehog was your priority.”
“He certainly is. I’m simply curious, considering how… dangerous you believe him to be.”
“Believe?” Eggman repeats, his eyes narrowing. Infinite ought to be more careful about his word choice. “Believe?”
“I don’t mean to doubt you, Doctor,” Infinite begins, cautiously. “But, well. I know you saw the fight between me and Sonic. The victor was clear. It was an easy defeat. I suppose I’m curious as to why you believe him to be such a threat, and what your plans are related to him, considering he’s an alleged threat.”
Honestly, defeating Sonic the Hedgehog, the alleged world class hero, had been infuriatingly boring. It was by far the most anticlimactic fight Infinite ever had the displeasure of being a part of. Eggman was certain that he was the biggest threat to his dreams of conquest, however, and thus had been the biggest priority out of everyone. Infinite doesn't really see the hype.
"You are lucky," Eggman chides. "You managed to catch him by surprise. I need you to understand that that is the only reason why you were able to win against him. If there is ever a rematch, you will, undeniably, end up as the loser."
Infinite frowns behind his mask, a bit chuffed. He doesn’t like the implications of being weak. "You can't be serious. The power of the Phantom Ruby is immense, you've told me this yourself.”
"Sonic is not to be underestimated." His voice brokers no argument. It is the only time Infinite has ever heard his voice so stern. "That is the one lesson you must learn. There is a reason that child has been a thorn in my side for years. He's stupidly strong, and while he might not be near as intelligent as his fox friend, he isn't the dullest tool in the shed. He knows how to fight, and he knows how to learn from his mistakes. He learns, Infinite, and he learns quickly."
He sighs. "This kid has fought gods before, need I remind you. The flooding of Station Square because of Chaos? He was the one to take down Chaos, all by himself. He defeated the Time Eater. He fought Dark Gaia. He is equal in power to Shadow, the man who ruined everything for you. There's plenty of other examples. You can knock him down, but if you give him an inch, he will get back up, and he will not fall again."
"If he's so dangerous," Infinite begins, cautiously, "then why didn’t you have me simply off him? It would have been very easy for me to kill him in our first fight. Why take him prisoner?”
"I will kill that miserable rat, but not until I've conquered every square inch of this planet. Call me foolish and egotistical, but this is a moment I've dreamed of for years. I want him to watch the world crumble before his eyes, after all the suffering he's caused me."
Infinite thinks there's another reason. Eggman always seems to go a bit heavy handed against military institutions. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty, and has no qualms spilling a bit of blood. But he always seems to be a bit more hesitant in ending the lives of those pesky children. Infinite has a feeling he has a begrudging soft spot for them, though as soft as one can be when it's with your mortal enemy.
He doesn’t dare accuse him of that. Instead, he decides to switch topics. “I suppose I understand. I would love to force Shadow to watch the world crumble, just as he did to me. But this still begs the question, if I may ask: what do you plan to do with Sonic?”
“Solitary confinement.” Eggman glances at the security feed. Sonic is in his prison cell, currently still unconscious from his encounter with Infinite.
“That’s…. all?”
Eggman laughs. “Trust me, solitary confinement is practically torture for him. And I can’t exactly have him wander around with other prisoners- he’d stage a riot within ten minutes of being near them. He has to be kept separate from everyone.”
Eggman glances at Infinite and taps the ruby on his chest, causing Infinite to flinch. “You can spin illusions with your ruby and make people believe in whatever you want. Sonic, however, is a charmer. All he needs is his voice and some ears for people to believe in what he says. He’s not just dangerous on the battlefield.”
Eggman crosses his arms and sighs. “I don’t want you engaging with him, understand? He is of no use to you, anyway. The only person he will come in contact with is me.”
“I understand, Doctor.”
“Good.” Eggman glances towards the doorway. “Now, I think we’re in order to celebrate! It’s a wonderful victory, seeing one’s worst enemy a prisoner. Orbot! Cubot! Pop some champagne! Get out the cake!”
Eggman hesitates, then pats the top of Infinite’s head. “When you get your hands on Shadow, we’ll celebrate that, too.”
He then walks off, badgering Cubot to hurry. Infinite lingers in the security room, staring at the image of Sonic.
He exits the room.

Beetlejuice AU: Go on... Let's hear it!
Okay, so, Infinite's NOT dead, but he's trapped inside the Phantom Ruby. (Kinda like how Tikal and Chaos are inside the Master Emerald) He's capable of projecting his spirit out of it, and some minor illusions and can sometimes manipulate the real world, but for the most part he's essentially a ghost. He kinda lurks around, haunting Shadow mostly, mocking everyone behind their backs, but lonely and frustrated no one can see him-
No one except my OC Maria/CS91 (TL;DR on Maria: GUN got sick of Sonic and Co, took Shadow's and ???'s DNA without his knowledge or consent, and essentially built their own supersoldier kid they were going to try to replace Sonic and Co with. Shadow found out, got incredibly pissed, destroyed the lab, and took his kid and went on the run for 3 years. After a lot of drama, he's allowed to keep Maria, and she's being raised as a "normal" kid now... By Team Dark. Hence the quotations. 😂)
Maria, quite understandably, is pretty traumatized by the events of her origin story. So traumatized, they all write off her seeing Infinite (no one ever told her who Infinite was, she doesn't totally know who he is, and no one's realized she's seeing him specifically! They think she's just seeing a jackal, but Shadow gets weird at the mention of jackals... 🤔) as either being an imaginary friend for coping purposes or a hallucination the few times she did try to mention him to anyone.
So... She just doesn't. She feels pretty lonely and alienated because of her origins and her trauma, and Infinite is obviously lonely because no one else in the world can see him, so the two become close friends.
I'm pulling a lot more from the cartoon than the movie or the musical, but basically it's just Infinite and Maria being besties, going on adventures/getting up to shenanigans, Team Dark is essentially Charles AND Delia all at once, and only Maria knows Infinite's around (but he does fuck with the others as much as he's able to.) Maria is secretly trying to figure out how to set Infinite free though, to get back at her dad and Aunt Rouge for not believing her about him.
(And because it's a Beetlejuice AU, I do need to say: I know some people ship Beetlejuice and Lydia which is kinda gross tbh but we'll just move on, NOT happening here! Infinite and Maria are purely just disaster besties, there is NOTHING romantic about their dynamic in this AU!!! That would be nasty on several levels I can't get into because spoilers.)

Top 10 Games That Are Worse Than Sonic 06
(in my opinion)
Greetings, mortals! Today, I'll be doing a list of the top ten games that are worse than Sonic 06 in my opinion.
Contrary to popular belief, Sonic 06 is NOT the worst Sonic game ever made, especially compared to these titles. For this list, I'll be looking at games in the Sonic franchise that are far worse than 06 in terms of either gameplay, storytelling or both.
Please keep in mind, this is MY OPINION! You don't need to agree with it, but please don't complain in the comments section if you disagree with this list.
Anyway, let us begin! ^^
10. Sonic and the Secret Rings (2007)
The most common criticism of this game is that the controls are too loose, and with Sonic's speed, it makes the game very hard to play. In fact, I know quite a few people who couldn't even make it past the tutorial stage due to how bad the controls are.
I put this one early on the list because while it does suck gameplay wise, the story and soundtrack are decent in my opinion.
9. Sonic Forces (2017)
Sonic Forces may not be the absolute worst game on this list, but it is certainly an underwhelming one. It presents itself as a dark, gritty action packed Sonic game when it really isn't, the plot is just a watered down version of SatAM and the Archie comics, the new villain, Infinite, was severely underutilized and any potential he had was completely wasted, Classic Sonic is here for no reason, and many of the characterizations have reached an all-time low, such as Sonic, Shadow and ESPECIALLY Tails.
To say that Forces was a huge disappointment would be an UNDERSTATEMENT. It had a lot of potential, but SEGA/Sonic Team completely wasted it. It also doesn't help that the game is so short and stupidly easy, that you could literally beat it in less than three hours.
8. Sonic Lost World (2013)
Undisputed winner of the "worst Sonic story ever" contest, Lost World fails in just about every aspect. The game was created primarily to cater to Mario fans, and it shows. From the level design, to the music, to the overall bright, cartoony tone, nothing about this game feels like Sonic to me.
It also introduced the Deadly Six, who (in my opinion) are the lamest and most pathetic villains in the entire franchise. They have uninspired designs that don't look like they belong in a Sonic game, no motivation, no origin, no reason to exist, their personalities are all one note stereotypes (Zavok = Generic Villain, Zor = Emo, Zeena = Girl, Zomom = Fat, Master Zik = Asian sensei and Zazz = psychopath), and they're impossible to take seriously, as they never do or say anything threatening. And to make matters worse, Zavok keeps reappearing in every new Sonic game regardless of whether or not it makes sense in-story. I cannot STAND these guys. They are my most hated Sonic characters, period. Infinite was a badly written character, but at least he's not the Deadly Six.
As I'm sure many of you know by now, I hate this game with a fiery passion. The writing is garbage, the characterization is garbage, it spawned the awful Deadly Six, and it's overall a pointless game with no reason to exist. If SEGA decides to remaster any more Sonic games in the wake of Sonic Colors: Ultimate, they better stay far away from this one. In my honest opinion, Lost World should stay just as dead as the console it was made for.
7. Sonic 3D Blast (1996)
Before Sonic made his proper transition to 3D in Sonic Adventure, we got this frustrating isometric platformer two years earlier. It's one of the most hard to control Sonic games, up there with Secret Rings, but strangely, it has the most stupidly easy special stages. It's kind of ironic when you think about it. Also, the whole game is basically just an escort mission where you destroy Badniks and escort Flickies to the end of the stage, and as I'm sure you can imagine, that can get stale and repetitive rather quickly.
6. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Game Gear/Master System version) (1992)
Most of you probably don't know about this game, due to it being overshadowed by its 16-bit counterpart, but I've heard some negative things about it from the few people who DID play it. For example, the game can be quite stingy with rings, the bosses are difficult and very annoying, and if you don't get the good ending, TAILS DIES.
5. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric (2014)
You all saw this one coming. Rise of Lyric suffers from a multitude of problems, including frame rate issues, loads of bugs and glitches, a bland, uninteresting plot, bad writing and characterization, etc.
A good friend of mine tried to play this game once, and the damn thing wouldn't even load. I think that pretty much speaks for itself.
4. Sonic 4: Episode 1 (2010)
This game is so boring, I literally quit playing it after the first act. It honestly feels like a lazy rehash of Sonic 1 in my opinion. Hell, Splash Hill Zone is literally just a copy-paste of Green Hill Zone! Also, the controls are so stiff that it honestly makes Sonic slower, and becomes, like all other 2010's Sonic titles (other than Mania), boost to win, as certain areas are IMPOSSIBLE to do without boosting, as Sonic's acceleration is much slower than it is in other games because of the stiff controls. And from I remember, Episode 2 wasn't any better, so it's not hard to see why the planned third episode was cancelled.
3. Sonic Labyrinth (1995)
Slow, boring gameplay and a mediocre story. There's not much I can say about it. I will give it some credit though, at least it's actually PLAYABLE, unlike the next two entries on this list...
2. Sonic Free Riders (2010)
Not only are the motion controls so finicky and unresponsive that they make the game borderline unplayable, but the cutscenes are lazy as fuck, it has a boring plot with only loose ties to the first two Riders games at best, and awful characterization that could give Lost World and Boom a run for their money. The only redeeming qualities of this game are the soundtrack and the opening CG cutscene.
1. Sonic the Hedgehog Genesis GBA (2006)
This horrendous GBA port of Sonic 1 is far more deserving of the title of "worst Sonic game ever made" than 06 will ever be. My god did they butcher the game and then some...
First of all, there are numerous bugs and glitches that can make the game virtually unplayable or even crash. For example, Sonic can fall through the walls of the Special Stage, causing him to activate a Goal block which kicks you out of the stage without you being able to collect the Chaos Emerald in the stage, or fall out of the entire stage and continuously fall until the game crashes and starts making a horrid noise as if you've ejected the cartridge. Another glitch causes Sonic to be crushed to death when he is merely touching the corners of two separate platforms, and also the Marble Zone glitch where the graphics are glitched, no floor, and Sonic can glitch out.
The GBA port also has screen crunch so you can't see where the hell you're going, which is really detrimental because Sonic is a game based on moving fast so you kinda have to see what's ahead of you.
The music not only sounds even worse than Sonic Chronicles' OST, but it also completely ruined Sonic 1's iconic soundtrack.
And the lag... dear god, the lag... You think Labyrinth Zone was a chore to complete in the original game? Good luck trying to beat it in this shitty excuse for a port.
Sonic + Water = Slowness
Sonic + Water + Lag + Screen crunch = Practically unplayable
In conclusion, Sonic Genesis GBA is the absolute worst Sonic game out there. With its terrible controls, awful glitches and pathetic sounds, this game is nothing more than a trainwreck. It's a disgrace to the first Sonic game that has even less going for it than the other games I included on this list. Don't buy this game, not even for a penny. It's not worth it. AVOID THIS GAME AT ALL COSTS.
Thanks for reading! I hope you guys enjoyed this list and I'll see you next time!! ^^

If you don't mind would you please write something where the Doctor kisses Yaz in the middle of one of their adventures 'cause she is so excited and doesn't remember until they're back in the TARDIS? (And Yaz was going nuts in the meantime)
i’m sorry this took so long for me to write!! as with all of the prompts i get—i didn’t forget it!! i’m also sorry if you originally wanted an overload of fluff, cause, uh, that’s not what ended coming out. i hope you still enjoy it though!
slight spoilers for s12e10: the timeless children.
They’ve started holding hands a lot, now. In the fast-quick moments when their feet pound against the ground. In the moments so quiet, the air they breathe comes tastes of the blood loud in their ears. In heartfelt imploring to stay safe, and the subtle moments of wordless solidarity. Every moment is an opportunity—an excuse—to hold hands.
They don’t talk about it.
Yaz knows that the Doctor avoids sleep more than ever, but she at least entertains the conversation if Yaz is the one who’s asking. She knows the only time the Doctor has slept since—since it happened—was on her lap, on the beach of Yerovia, when all the world was all around them. She knows the Doctor tries not to mention the past year around Ran and Graham—difficult, granted, when it informed their decision to stay. But she gets by. She gets by.
And they talk about that, at least. Not often. Not enough. But they talk about it.
When the Doctor slept on her lap on the beach, she’d murmured in her sleep about something ‘infinite’, something about a boundary and a child. Then she’d pleaded, ‘Not again,’ again, and again. A whine like a tortured animal; all the dejection of lovelessness. Yaz had been half-torn between letting her catch up on sleep, and freeing her from the slumber-sought terrors, until the Doctor woke up with a strangled cry.
She walked away to settle herself down. Yaz didn’t follow, but she ached to.
They talked a little, after that. Hazy details were hazier still for the outsider, but she’d take the fog over a starless night.
Yaz had held her hand. Has felt the ghost touch of the Doctor’s weight ever since.
The Doctor knows that Yaz did some new things in the past year. She knows Yaz did some stupid things. She knows that Yaz was running ever since the TARDIS landed back on Earth, walking into scorching sunlight to purge the shadows lingering at the back of her neck.
She knows that the burns have signed her skin enough to leave marks. Scars are just scabs before the skin toughens, and when they collided again, Yaz was a long way off from either.
Holding the Doctor’s hand distracts her from the rawness. The cool of the Doctor’s palm on signed skin. It helps.
They talk about the shadows, a little, about the numbness that drove her into the sun. Not often, but just enough.
They don’t talk about holding hands. They don’t talk about how it’s real. There’s too much of the universe to discover, still, pockets of kindness they need to coax out of terrible lives.
They don’t talk about why they need it.
Commander Vix has caught them messing with the wires to Central Command, and his boots are heavy on the concrete floor as he searches for them. They can hear him; his echoes are taunting. The Doctor is muttering a song in a language Yaz can’t decipher, with her fingertips pressed against the imposing metal walls of the corridor. Her lyrical flow of speech interrupts itself, and gets snagged on a phrase, like a record jamming.
Yaz’s brain seems to be a few minutes in the future, staring down the barrel of a gun and tasting metal in her mouth. Her heart is in her throat but she doesn’t feel it. Until, the Doctor—until she looks at her and registers the jammed record. Knows, distantly, that the needle must find the grooves. They must keep on turning. Lift the arm and blow off the dust. Fix the scratch. Lift the arm and fix the scratch. Hear the music again. She wants to hear the music. Lift the—
She glances up, eyes darting to the blue lamps fixed along the edges of the corridor ceiling. Their lights emanate in perfect circles. They cast perfect shadows. Except for—there. A circular structure.
‘Doctor,’ she whispers. Points to the manhole.
The muttering stops, and the Doctor grabs her hand, pulling Yaz to its entrance before she can process the movement.
One arm outstretched to unlock the manhole; the familiar buzz of the sonic and the loud clanging of the mechanism unlocking. It alerts Commander Vix to where they are. A great heaving, and the light pours in; his hulking figure at the end of the corridor, illuminated by the sudden flare.
The Doctor links her hands, her palms offered to the light. Ready.
‘No, you go first—you need to shut it,’ Yaz reasons.
‘No.’ A warning the Doctor will not rescind. Even the Master would cower under that glare. Yaz accepts the leg up.
She hauls herself onto rocky plains, the biting wind both hot and icy on her face. Escape. Swiveling back round, she leans back in again, and catches the Doctor’s hands when she jumps. She almost loses grip twice—her fingers give out just as the Doctor grabs onto the ledge of the manhole, arms shaking. Yaz pulls her up by the coat.
Flapping legs are nearly blasted off by Commander Vix and his gun, but the mechanisms grind into life again, locking into place, and the Commander’s roar cuts off immediately, as if erased from the world. No echo, no trace of him even existing. No longer real.
And the Doctor kisses her.
Dust-blighted and panting, the Doctor kisses her. Trembling hands stilled and resting tenderly on burning cheeks, the Doctor kisses her.
The hot press of another, undeniable presence, arresting all function of her lungs, her veins, her pumping heart. The Doctor kisses her.
They don’t talk about it. Yaz wants to scream at her. They don’t talk about it.
Later, whenever later is. In the library: a leather brown sofa, and a fire roaring next to them. The Doctor is a new star—the only one. Yaz’s hands are warming.
She slams her book shut. ‘You kissed me.’
The Doctor keeps reading, but her eyes are glazed. ‘Yeah, I did.’
‘Why?’
The pause is so protracted that Yaz can glimpse the entire process of her thoughts: the lifting of the arm, the placing of the needle. Smooth, and without incident, except the sunspots emerging on her skin.
‘You’re real,’ the Doctor answers. ‘You’re still here.’
‘Of course,’ Yaz says, but the Doctor does not respond.
‘Will you kiss me every time I’m real?’ she asks. ‘And every time I’m not?’
‘Only if you do too.’ It’s said with a smile that doesn’t exist.
‘Of course,’ Yaz repeats. The Doctor doesn’t respond to that, either.

The Dark Prince: Chapter Eight: Thank You
Tumblr media
"That's what he said." Amy was in between Rouge and Creams' hospital beds. They were listening quietly to her story and after accepting her apology for not being there with them, then began to chat about what had happened a two days ago. Cream and Rouge had no hard feelings towards Amy for not remembering about them, they understood that the circumstances she was in made it difficult for her to think about anybody else.
"I think Shadow is confused...I don't think he feels that type of love towards me." Rouge said. She was more than ready to get out of her bed but a certain red echidna had insisted for her to stay a few days for a checkup.
"He does have a point tho...he was ready to sacrifice everything for you," Amy added, a bit of discomfort could be heard from her voice. Rouge turned her body towards the pink hedgehog so she could see her clearly.
"Exactly...but he didn't...even if he wanted to do it, his heart didn't allow him to...he didn't betray you because his love for you was so strong that his body didn't permit him to do it..." Rouge smiled at Amy and she smiled at her sightly.
Seeing that it wasn't enough, Rouge look at Cream for support.
"You know miss Amy..." Cream cleared her voice, gaining the attention of the pink one. " I am actually not supposed to say anything but..." Cream gave it a thought. She promised Shadow that she wasn't going to talk about the time that he had confessed his love to Amy to her. She thought of a better story.
.
.
.
"Hi there Mr. Shadow!"
Shadow just wanted to walk around the city to get familiar with it. After all, he had just been working for G.U.N a couple of months and still didn't know his way around. Working for G.U.N wasn't all that great, but he had to admit that the payment was good enough for him to leave the comfort of his own house. But it seems like his small strip needed to wait for now.
"Greetings." He simply said. He watched the small rabbit struggle with her groceries bags. Yes, it seemed like today he was going to spend it helping the little girl.
And without knowing, he was carrying all the bags of Cream, walking to...Chaos knows where.
"Did you know that Ms. Amy is opening her own Cafe tomorrow? You should stop by!" Cream said smiling.
"I hate coffee," Shadow said the truth.
Shadow didn't complain at all, he just walked and walked following her until they reached a very pink house.
Cream knocked on the door and that's when Shadow knew that that place wasn't hers.
The door opened slowly as if it was a scary movie. Cream and Shadow entered slowly and with Shadow's good hearing, he could tell someone was crying from the other room. He didn't say anything, waiting for Cream to noticed.
"Um, Mr.Shadow, I think I'll go attend Ms. Amy...you may leave the groceries in the kitchen." Shadow nodded and was on his way but Cream stopped him quickly as she remembered something. "Oh, before I forget! Here is something Tails made for me for whenever I get a lost...in exchange for helping me today"
Cream placed a black bracelet with a small screen on it on Shadow's wrist. He looked at it strangely.
"This will prevent you from getting lost. It tells you where you want to go, any time!" Cream said excitedly.
"So, its a compass"
"No, well, not exactly. See the small screen on it? Arrows will point the way of where you want to go the most...look...uh?" Cream looked into the bracelet's screen and the arrows showed like crazy. Up, down, left, right, east, west, it was going crazy.
"Oh, maybe it's not working properly. Don't worry, I'll make sure Tails fixes it for the next time I see you!"
Cream smiled. "Thank you again, Shadow, you may leave if you want now."
Cream then disappeared into the room next to the kitchen. Shadow placed the groceries bags on the kitchen's counter as he kept looking to the bracelet Cream had given him.
He stepped out of the house and was ready to continue his day, but once again, his good hearing had different plans for him.
"Please, Amy...You don't need him. What if you look for someone else...maybe Shadow?"
Shadow knew that it wasn't right for him to keep hearing the conversation, but hearing his name on the conversation made him curious enough. He walked slowly towards the window of what seemed Amy's room and listen.
"Do you really think someone like Shadow would ever notice me? He would never look my way just like Sonic." Amy said between whimpering.
"Difference is, that you actually might like Shadow." Cream said and Shadow's eyes widen in surprise.
"Me? Like him?", Amy questioned.
"Weren't you the one who worked day and night and almost overworked yourself to death so you could give Shadow a ticket to see his favorite rock band?"
"It was his birthday, and nobody remembered..."
Shadow gave it a thought for a second. Now that he remembers, last year, he found on his mailbox a card with a ticket to see his favorite rock band. However, the card had no name on it. Nothing that could say that it was from Amy.
"Also, a few years ago, when Shadow had to go with Sonic to fight Infinite.... weren't you the one who stayed by his side all that time he was in the hospital after he was badly injured?, Cream wanted for Amy to enter on reason.
Yes, looking back at it, that mission he went with Sonic some time ago was one of his hardest one so far. He really doesn't remember much. He was in a coma for two weeks. He does remember that after waking up the first thing he saw was his hospital room completely fill with all kinds of flowers.
Who would have thought that those flowers were from that pink one.
"And lastly, weren't you the one who told Rouge to give Shadow a place on her team so he could work for G.U.N?"
"Yes," Amy said in a quiet voice.
"Do I really have to name every single thing you have done for Shadow for you to realize that you have feelings for him?"
"Even if I have feelings for him...I could never tell him...He is just too...too good. He deserves someone smart and...beautiful. Not...not this." Amy looked at herself in the mirror with a disgusting look. Cream felt sad by the way her friend was expressing about herself.
On these circumstances, Cream knew better than nobody that Amy would never agree with her. It was an internal battle that only she could battle.
"Anyways, you should be happy. Tomorrow is the grand opening of your cafe! I am sure a lot of people would go!" Cream tried to change the topic to a better one.
"I doubt it...I spent all my money to open the Cafe. I could barely make any advertisement."
"Then, say no more! I'll go right now and make print some papers!"
Shadow was still in shock that Amy had gone to such lengths to do all that...for him. No one had ever been so kind to him.
Never like this.
"Oh, Mr. Shadow? You are still here?", Shadow turned around to find Cream look at him in surprise. He was so entranced on his own thoughts that he hadn't heard Cream come out of Amy's house.
"I, um...I was on-" Shadow cursed to himself trying to find any excuse.
"Oh! Wow! Your bracelet stopped going crazy."
"What? Oh, yes it has-"
Seems like today was full of surprises. The bracelet screen had an arrow pointing to Amy's room.  Shadow made turns, walked front and back around himself; just for the arrow to always bring him back to Amy's room.
He had a place to go before...but now, he has. Now, there was a place he wanted to go to.
Shadow didn't know why, but it warmed his heart. A heart he thought he didn't have until that pink hedgehog...no wait. Amy...until Amy made him realize he had one. One that was made just for her.
To give it to her.
"Oh, I have to go! I need to go print some papers, sorry Mr.Shadow!" Cream walked past him but Shadow stopped her mid-way as he spoke to her.
"You do your best...I'll go and check on my bank account," Shadow said.
"Bank account?" Cream questioned him.
"Yes...I need to buy a lot of coffee tomorrow."
"I thought you hated coffee."
"No...Not anymore."
.
.
.
There were no signs of Shadow.
It had been a few days since Cream had told her story to Amy.
And she felt horrible that there was nothing she could do. She had looked for him everywhere, all around the city but nothing, no signs of him.
Not only that, but Sonic had come by to tell her that they need him in a nearby village and that he would talk to her when he came back.
She wanted to clear things with him...and herself.
She was on her bed, looking out the window, ready to call it a night. She closed her eyes but she immediately opened them, and with her pajamas on, she came out of her house and began to run.
She runs and runs, she never stopped until she finally reached the beach. The waves crashing and the wind stroking her hair.
A beautiful night indeed, the stars, the moon and the peaceful sound of the sea.
and him.
There he was. Standing upright, confidence on his eyes, arms crossed and his stance elegant as always.
A true prince indeed.
Amy left her thoughts quickly and walked towards the dark hedgehog.
"You always like the sea," Amy said as Shadow turned around to face her, unamused. "Whenever you felt anxious...you would come to the sea..."
"You are right...and I-"
"And you are an idiot!"
Alright, Shadow didn't think it was going to start up this way.
"What?"
"You disappear for days without saying anything and you worry me for days just for me to find you here and-"
"I' am going to leave the city," Shadow said bluntly.
"What?"
"I am leaving the continent actually...there's this kingdom on the south... the people need me to help overthrown their king...this might take some time." Shadow faced Amy and he couldn't dare to look at her in the eyes.
"So, this is it?" Amy's voice wanted to crack but she didn't want to show any emotion.
"Yes...it seems like it. There's no more G.U.N...I need to look for work somewhere else."
"Well...I need an extra worker at my Cafe. and-"
Shadow couldn't take it anymore. He hugged Amy knowing that this might be the last time he might see her for a very long time.
"I may not be able to work for you but I promise I am going to work on myself. I'll work to be better...to be worthy of loving you again..."
"Shadow..."
Amy finally let out the tears and let herself cry on his shoulder. She knew that she was going to miss his warmth.
There was no more to say. They perfectly knew what the other felt, the strong mutual feelings that were share. They looked into each other's eyes and caressed their quills delicately as if they were afraid to hurt each other. They both held their bodies in a warm hug, fully appreciating how incredibly happy they were for each other existence.
Shadow's face brightens up and whispered that three-word sentence she was waiting for him to say for so long:
"Amy, thank you."

Black Doom Character Analysis
Tumblr media
Introduction
Greetings, mortals! Today, I'll be doing an in-depth character analysis on my favorite Sonic villain (and one of my favorite Sonic characters overall), Black Doom.
For those who don't know, I LOVE Black Doom. He's the greatest Sonic villain ever in my opinion. Unfortunately, it appears that not everyone understands his character as well as I do. Some people just write him off as a generic big baddie because he has dark colors, a dark voice, and a menacing name, without looking further into him. Today, we are going to delve deeper into Black Doom's character.
History
Tumblr media
Black Doom is the leader of an alien race known as the Black Arms. He and the Black Arms have visited Earth for the past 2,000 years. 50 years before the events of ShTH, Black Doom developed an alliance with Gerald Robotnik. He and Gerald created the Ultimate Life Form, Shadow, supposedly in order to expand Gerald's research, although Black Doom's ulterior motive was to create an agent who would one day retrieve the Chaos Emeralds. To this end, Black Doom donated some of his own blood to Gerald's project, making Doom Shadow's biological father. Shadow also inherited Black Doom’s powers and abilities, including Chaos Control. Gerald was originally going to use Shadow and the Eclipse Cannon to destroy the Black Comet, but this was changed due to Gerald mourning over Maria’s death and sinking into grief and madness.
Black Doom works very well as a mysterious, threatening antagonist with very little backstory as opposed to a character like Infinite.
Doom works because he's nearly omnipresent, and what background on him is given (via Shadow's backstory) still keeps him mysterious while also making him more important.
Infinite doesn't work because he's barely IN Forces and what backstory is given (via Episode Shadow) makes him unable to be taken seriously.
50 Years Later
Tumblr media
After the events of Sonic Heroes, Shadow's mental health had worsened since he left Team Dark, and he has flashbacks of this girl Maria. He wants to learn about his past. Suddenly, Black Doom and his army arrive, and Black Doom asks Shadow to gather the seven Chaos Emeralds. Shadow, knowing that Black Doom knows his past, goes along with him.
Now, I know some of you are probably wondering, did Black Doom truly love Shadow? I personally think he did, but he wasn't going about showing it in the best way.
I know it's often hard to see what emotion Black Doom is expressing at any given time, due to his character design, but even I can see that in many of the scenes with Doom talking to Shadow, his body motions and even a bit of his facial expressions give off the vibe of a loving parent who wants to get closer to their child. Black Doom does everything he can to help Shadow get his revenge against humanity because that is what Doom believes is best for his son to be able to move on, and violence is the way of his people, so it's not surprising that he wishes to inspire such within Shadow.
This is not to say that Doom isn't guilty of making mistakes along the way. He gets angry if Shadow refuses to listen to him and doesn't really try all that much to reason with him about their differences, but frankly, Shadow’s just as stubborn as him! Again, violence being the go-to to basically anything for the Black Arms also comes up again in this instance, which to human morals, does not put Doom in a good light in the SLIGHTEST.
Tumblr media
But whether or not you think he was good at being a father, I do believe he tried to be such for Shadow.
Tumblr media
After Shadow finds all of the Chaos Emeralds, Black Doom takes them in order to warp the Black Comet to Earth. He also used the Emeralds to release a nerve gas on the planet’s population to make them food for his Black Arms spawn. When Doom was about to reveal Shadow’s past, he was interrupted by a transmission from Gerald that Team Chaotix turned on. His message tells Shadow to destroy the Black Comet and defeat Black Doom. This made Doom transform into Devil Doom. Shadow used the Chaos Emeralds that Black Doom left behind and transformed into Super Shadow.
As a result, Shadow killed Black Doom (*sob*) and destroyed the Black Comet, and the game ends with Sonic and friends celebrating the Black Arms' defeat, and Shadow says goodbye to his past self and later becomes a GUN agent.
My Final Thoughts
Overall, I think Black Doom is an amazing villain who is very unique from the other Sonic villains.
Unlike villains like Dr. Eggman, who just want to conquer the world out of pure selfishness, and villains like the Deadly Six, who are evil just for the sake of it with no motivation or backstory whatsoever, Black Doom has a motive beyond himself, to provide his people with efficient sustenance to survive, and he has lots of care for his son Shadow and his people. Sure, he desires power, and he too planned to enslave everyone on Earth, but he wished to do so for the care of his people.
Sure, Doom looks down on humanity, and has no regard to them, but he DOES care about the Black Arms. He may not be a good person, at least not to us, but he is a good LEADER, and a loving one at that. He does immoral actions, which make him villainous, but he does it for mostly SELFLESS reasons, as opposed to the fully selfish actions of other Sonic villains, like Dr. Eggman. He's still a bad guy, but he's a complex bad guy with understandable and possibly even relatable motives.
That is why I not only love him so much, but I also believe he is the best Sonic villain, as well as one of the best Sonic characters. He was only in one game and yet he feels much more human, ironically enough, than villains like Eggman who have been around since the very beginning, and I will be forever saddened that we lost him in the same game that introduced him.
💜All Hail Black Doom💜
