So my flatmate told me a few weeks ago the legend behind the 1001 Arabian night stories. Then randomly I wanted to draw the “hot Sultan Eggman” that turns out to be King Shahryar aka the king who keeps killing his brides at dawn in the stories. So OF COURSE I needed to draw King Shahryar Eggman with a Smart(TM) pretty bride Stone who every night tells him stories that end in thrilling cliff hangers so that King Eggman can’t kill him when morning comes. During the 1001 nights they fall in love and my obsession with these two has been quenched again (for now).
P.S. I’ve been colouring this thing for a week now. Take it before I add another freakin light source.

“There was and there was not…”
Another idea from Discord, if Dream was a patron to The Bard he most certainly could have been one to Scheherazade, one of the greatest storytellers ever known. And honestly how could he not be drawn to the combination of beauty, bravery and creativity that is the teller of the 1,001 nights?

The real story of Arabian Nights!
Each day, Scheherazade was telling to King Shahryar the next part of stories she told him the previous day, such as Aladdin, Ali Baba...

Another book finished! I actually had a lot of various issues with this one, just due to me not being as attentive when I was working on it (honestly... probably NOT the best to work on detail oriented things during finals season and late at night, but I am driven by the incessant need to create and my brain has latched aggressively onto bookbinding as creative outlet like a starving dog a meat bone). Plus the printer was a bitch problematic and decided that the pages simply MUST have pink all over them, and so they do. It's not the worst that could happen so I didn't feel the total need to reprint, but I did buy cream paper to have, well, nice creamy paper, so that would have been nice (the pink doesn't come out as much in the photos). But, in all, it came out decently, and as with anything I create it is growing on me after I get past all my criticisms of it.
I originally was just planning on working on the rest of the mock icha icha anthology series and not tossing in another book to do, but when I read this fic I rather fell in love with it (the slow burn is fantastic in an incredibly teasing way), and especially as it was vaguely 1001 nights themed I really couldn't help myself (I adore anything themed, as I can then happily lean into it for colour schemes and paper choices). It is a bit amusing that it does have a 'icha icha' title, since it then rather fits into the rest of the collection.
Icha Icha Nights (E, 50k, Kakashi Hatake x Umino Iruka)
A foolish bet is going to get Iruka and his friends killed if he can't find a way to save them from the ruthless king who has imprisoned them. Each night he tells the king stories to buy them more time, but in between the lewd tales he spins, he discovers that not all of his friends are what they seem, and neither is the king.

Faerie Tale Theatre: The Ultimate Episode Ranking
So, we’ve come to the end of this years-long Faerie Tale Theatre retrospective, my friends. It’s been quite a ride. Unlike most big Hollywood collaborations, Faerie Tale Theatre wasn’t a vanity project or a corporate mandate driven by synergistic greed, but a labor of love from start to finish. There’s been highs and lows, but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t any passion put into every minute…

As soon as Brennan mentioned Scheherazade, this popped into my head. No one stopped me, and I have no shame, so here we are.

SO
Let's speculate. Which stories from 1001 Arabian Nights could serve as inspiration for the live action Aladdin sequel?

Have patience, my love
I truly was not sure what art to post, AFAIK in summer many voted for this one. I am not really happy with the result, but I had promised you'll have a chance to see this one. So here it is.
