Summary: (takes place after the band split up, and on) John Dory shows up out of nowhere, but with that he brings trouble, the trouble of the mind and the heart.

A/N: Goodbye 2023: Hello 2024! First oneshot of the year and seriously so tired after new years. I thank you all for the support on my Floyd oneshot, you guys make writing worth it! Also I imagine you live in a small house, and not a pod. Just cuz I like the idea. (Side A/N: I wrote half of this at 1 am after new years and I have more written it just turned to gibberish after a while and I had to sleep lmao. So stay tuned for a part 2!) The mysterious man showed up out of nowhere, which honestly startled you and your father. He showed up in an armadillo bus that was way out of whack. You were an only child and a quiet one at that. So from a distance, your dad told you to be his danger surveillance.

Upon further examination, you managed to grip your dad's shirt and send him a message that the strange man needed help. With his kindest heart, he goes to lend a hand to him.

You never understood how your father can comprehend what you're saying, you’ve been mute since birth. Nobody knew why, but you just haven’t spoken a word. In fact, your first “word” was you writing on a piece of paper for the first time.

When your dad came back, all he did was make another plate of food and walk out. This time you watched, and paid close attention. Your dad gave the man food and that’s when you realized. He wasn’t a man at all! He seemed to be around your age. It was strangely exciting to see.

You pulled away from the window and sat down to finish your food. You then heard your dad reenter and he mentioned nothing of the exchange, but you didn’t care. It was your dad, he was almost just as quiet as you were.

Then a year went by, and your dad made sure to take care of you just right. You were a bit older now, and a bit taller. Your little small town was growing smaller with each passing day, and now you knew everything like the back of your hand. However, a certain someone didn’t.

You walk out of your home to begin delivering your dad’s trinkets around town. Use your roller skates to travel from door to door. Handing in tiny things like keychains, dream catchers, or even shoelaces. Your dad was quite the tinker.

Then your heart dropped when you realized you’d have to give food to the armadillo bus inhabitant. So you rolled in front of his bus and pet the lovely creature a few times, before anxiously heading toward the door.

It only took a few knocks when suddenly out popped a guy wearing goggles and a jacket far too thick for the summertime. You handed him his trinket. Which was a keychain with the word “BROZONE” across the small crocheted add-on.

You were about to leave when his voice cut through the silence. “Woah! This looks even cooler than I thought it would! Thanks!” He grins at you, expecting a response, but when silence follows he pushes his goggles onto his head. “Uh…did I come across too strong there? Or are you stunned into silence because you’re looking at a former member of Brozone?”

Your social ticking time bomb was ticking, it was a common small-town rule to not talk to you because you’d start crying or something, but this is new. This is just discomfort. His words turned to mumbles as you began to go on autopilot.

Suddenly a hand touches your shoulders. A billion thoughts run through your head, you look up at him and see his face coming closer. Instincts kick in and you wind up punching him in the face. Straight knock out right hook into the nose.

The crack made you snap back into reality. He’s on the ground, groaning in pain. you don’t like consequences. So instantaneously, who does? So You run off. Your feet pitter-patter in the ground below, scared of what your father would do if you found out.

You hide away after that moment, your dad did find out, but geez did he find it funny. That was the first time you’d heard him laugh in ages. So he put the shop on hold and decided to teach you how to make trinkets instead. So that event never happens again.

⏠⏡⏠⏡⏠⏡⏠⏡⏠

You were in your mid-20s when you started delivering again. However, you made an effort to avoid the armadillo bus with all your being. However, you caught glimpses of Bus-man looking out at you while you worked. Your nerves nearly get the best of you every time you catch it.

When the end of the day came around the corner you made it home and sat on your porch swing. You swung until the sun went down, but in the meantime, you were looking ahead, then caught sight of the man lazily sitting outside too. But when he caught sight of you he suddenly puffed out his chest and grinned. Wiggling his eyebrows.

You shot him a weird look and looked away. What was that? Was he…flirting with you? You punched him in the face! Why was he flirting? After about an hour you felt something hit your shoulder. When you looked, it was a crude paper ball, you opened it. It said: “My name is JD, John, the leader, John Dory, what's yours?”

You laughed when you saw the crossed-off names, you pulled a pencil out of your hair and wrote your name on the paper. You looked up and looked around. Eyes closed in on him as he tried to act natural. You smirked and threw it back at him, hitting him in the head. You gasped and looked away. Your cheeks become red like fire.

The game of toss continued. You and him having a nice conversation about flowers. Which led to him calling you Buttercup. You didn't know why this made you blush, but a nickname was new for you.

Eventually, you told him goodnight and waved to him. He waved too, but you could've sword-he punched the air in excitement before going inside.

It became routine. Every night you two would be outside neighbors, talking to one another on paper. You’d share one fact about yourself, and he'd share several. He was far more open than you were, and he was fine with it.

Until one night it came to the subject of verbal communication.

You explained to him your situation and he started asking so many questions. It made you sort of uncomfortable. Then in a shocking turn of events, he changed the subject to something debatably worse.

“Why did you punch me?”

Your eyes widened and you turned red again. You heard his loud boisterous laughter at your reaction and you felt a knot tie in your stomach. Your heart fluttered and all your hairs stood on end. What was going on?

He then yells out to you, as his first time communicating verbally. “It's alright buttercup! I forgive you!” His grin was infectious, leaving you wanting to see it more often.

When you started visiting his bus, the two of you became inseparable. Seeing as you were nonverbal you'd usually listen to him spout pure nonsense half the time. Sometimes he'd just break out into song.

Your favorite nights are when he'd break into song and ask you to dance with him. You'd always decline. Which always disappointed him but he was just fine dancing all by his lonesome.

“Baby! I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey!” he'd fall to his knees and outstretched his arms to you “come on! Ooh, the more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah!” he’d continue singing even as you shook your head.

When he kept dancing, on rare occasions you giggled, very quietly. He'd catch it and make a big deal out of it, causing you to blush and quietly giggle yourself into oblivion.

He'd leave you alone for a while, eventually getting back to telling stories. You explored the but a little while he spoke, he watched you, explaining some messes and creating excuses for others. That is until you stopped in a corner, picking up a vinyl. John shot up. Stumbling over to you.

“That uh. That's-” you looked at him and raised an eyebrow. Which may have been the first time he understood what you were saying without you writing on a piece of paper.

He sighed heavily and slumped onto the couch “it’s a pretty boring story.” he huffed out a laugh, crossing his arms as he leaned into the corner of his couch. “You wouldn't like it.”

You frowned, carrying the vinyl over to him. You sat down beside him and looked him in the eyes. Silently asking him to go on, when your hand landed on his knee. He looked at your hand then at you. “Well buckle up because this is gonna be a long one.”

He tells you everything, you don't flinch, make a face, nor do you judge. His story is depressing. He seems so angry and frustrated about it. Something about the way he talks about his brothers made you want to hug him and comfort him with every bone in your body.

His anger rises as he reaches the end. His nose flaring and his eyes widened. “I just wanted us to be great! To be the best boyband there ever was but no! They kept complaining and-” he was cut off by the look you were giving him. His breath hitched at the sight of your eyes so sincere and caring, it was different for him.

He tore his eyes away and crossed his arms. “I just wish. I just wish we were still brothers.” you gripped his hand squeezing it tight and he seemed to get the message. “I know I know. They're my brothers whether they like it or not.”

You nodded, running your fingers through his tall hair then looking him in the eye. There was a moment of clarity there. Your cheeks turned 6 shades of red, when his eyes snapped lower on your face. You stood up and took a deep breath. You awkwardly pointed at the door. A shy smile on your face as you gravitated to the bus door.

You felt bad at the look of disappointment he had, but also you were still friends at this point. You couldn't ruin that. Not because you would hate being with him, but it's too good to lose. His expression changed back to his regular one and he stood up to help you out.

“After you M’lady Buttercup,”

You rolled your eyes, but stopped for a minute to look at him, thinking about what you should do. In your fear and anxiety. You waved him goodbye. Leaving him wanting much more from you.

f1wagsnews 1/3/2023 - YN LN, fashion model, was seen walking home alone after what looked like an argument in the parking garage with long term boyfriend/F1 driver, Lorenzo Berkshire. She had apparently surprised him at his job with the help of his fellow team driver, but she had immediately walked out of the building almost in tears. The conversation was spoken softly but despite LN's typical sweet tone was replaced by a very stern one. The conversation included about Berkshire's stressed in his racing career and her career as a high-paid model while touching on the rumors of Berkshire's infidelity. It was unclear to the paparazzi whether YN believes if the rumors are true or if Berkshire had fessed up, but it was certain that the two were not okay.

Lorenzo Berkshire, F1 Driver is rumored to have cheated on long-time girlfriend of 4 years, Y/N L/N. It was said that he cheated the night of the Japanese Grand Prix on October 9th. It was the same sunday that his fellow driver of McLaren would go on to win the Japanese Grand Prix, which has been the assumption that made Berkshire blow off the steam by cheating.

An anonymous tip from a news outlet sent this picture in which is Berkshire and mystery model making out on October 9.

Sources from Deuxmoi saw that the infidelity was not a one off on one night, but it was a continuous thing up until the Austin Grand Prix Weekend (October 21 - October 2023). The other party has not been named yet, but it is said that she is a lower scale model compared to Y/N L/N.

Lorenzo Berkshire and Y/N L/N have said been together since 2018. They were schoolmates prior to dating, and they started during their second to last year at their academy. It was also rumored that the two were supposedly going to get engaged during the winter break, but now it has been filled with these rumors.

f1wagsnews — 1/20/23, Y/N L/N was found out and about with drivers, Theodore Nott, Mattheo Riddle, and Draco Malfoy (+ GF Lilianna Snow). Her boyfriend, Lorenzo Berkshire, was nowhere to be found. The two have not been spotted together since January 3rd where they were found outside of the McLaren building arguing.

Close insiders have said the two are no longer together which may have been due to Berkshire's cheating rumors.

All mentioned drivers are said to be in close contact with Berkshire. Though, each one including L/N has unfollowed him on Instagram.

thinking about hyunjin, and his ways of saying that he loves you.

hyunjin says the three words often, between chaste kisses shared once you awake from the daylight, and when you greet him home from work. hyunjin would say he loves you at random moments — when you’re cooking for him in the kitchen, or when you’re entangled with each other as a movie plays on the television. he means it everytime he says them — you can see the sincerity in his eyes, and the adoring smile he’d plaster across his face at the mere sight of you.

but his ways of conveying his loving emotions isn’t only limited to those three words.

you can see it in the way he would mindlessly draw you. you would be walking into the living room after a shower, and spot him drawing you from memory. at times he doesn’t even realize that he’s sketching you — you’re just always in his mind that sketching your face is like muscle memory.

hyunjin portrays it during the times he’d cut you some fruits. you would be doing your work in your office, and he’ll silently slide you a plate of mangoes, with a fork on it. the fruits are cut the way you like it, fresh and cold from the fridge. at times, he’ll feed you your first bite, cooing at the way your face scrunches up from the cold.

it is routine for him to kiss your forehead. every morning when he wakes up, before he goes to work, once he walks into the door after work, and before he goes to sleep. each kiss is accompanied with a loud, “mwah!” sound, followed by his little giggles.

there are times when you’d flop into bed in exhaustion, work clothes still in tact. he’ll change you into a set of pajamas, tuck you under the duvets. he’ll wipe off your makeup, massage some lotion into your skin. before turning the lights off you’d feel gentle kisses being pressed onto your forehead and your lips.

a big section of his journalling book is dedicated to you. pages occupied with poetry written about you — you know because he spends a little time writing before he goes to bed. you’d be tucked in under the duvets, and he’d still be sitting, scribbling words into his brown journal. smiling foolishly while he’s at it, too — ask him what he’s writing, and he’ll say, “something about you.”

hyunjin shows you he loves you by taking care of you during the times you simply could not. those times when you’d cry more than you eat, when self care is no longer a priority. you'll feel yourself being lifted off the bed, clothes stripped and put into a warm bath. he’ll massage your shampoo into your scalp as he whispers sweet reassurances into your skin. you’re beautiful, he’s proud of you — his assurances will make happy tears run down your cheeks. then, he’ll feed you your favourite food, gentle smile adorning his face serves as a reminder that he’ll always be there for you. always.

you have one too many gifts from him. little things he’d get you when he’s touring — things that he claims reminded him of you. pieces of jewellery, a puppy keychain, (he said that it looks like you) clothes, and many more. it’s come to a point where your friends would call you a hoarder — nightstand filled with a miscellaneous of things, and bed full of the plushies he had given you over the years.

you’ve received many love letters from him too. he would write you love letters from time to time, filling in empty pages with words that could make you cry out of joy. he has a special paper he writes his letters on —because everything has to be special when it comes to you! there��s this thing he likes doing, too — he starts all his love letters with “to my eternal love, y/n,” and ends them with “endless love, hyunjin.”

hyunjin loves you endlessly, and he doesn’t cower away from showing it.

Hello Tumblr followers, it's October and a lot is happening! First and foremost, the Eldritch Saints leftovers are finally listed. New pins, prints, stickers, and keychains are available now in my Etsy shop. Many of these items have been sent to my stockists as well.

Speaking of Kickstarter campaigns, if you missed the Angelology III campaign, the pre-order store is open until October 14 2023. Lots of pins, stickers, and keychains - including some awesome guest artist designs - are available for pre-order. If you miss the pre-order, you will have to wait until any leftovers are available after the campaign.

Back to new shop items: in addition to the Eldritch Saints pins, I have even more new pins available! Charity pins for the Maui Strong Fund and Assistance Dogs of the West are now available. My Film Noir Monsters are also available: there are a limited number of full sets, individual pins, and blind bags.

This month's seconds pins are Penemue, Percy de Rolo, Archangel Samiel, and Mistress of Darkness.

To make room for all the new pins, older ones have retired from my Etsy shop. You can still find them with my stockists. If you're curious about what pins I've made, I've updated my pin catalog. If you have restock requests, you can make those in this Google form. I generally don't reprint any pins once sold out, but if a design is popular enough I'll consider making a new variant. So if you have a variant idea, you can include that in your request.

Anyway, returning once again to new shop items: new stickers are also available! Rat Kings, Biblically Accurate Barbie, and a glitter version of Original Character Brainworms are now listed in my shop. New keychains are available too, including Be Not Afraid Jon, Biblically Accurate Barbie, Throne Angel, Little Guy Seraph, and Angelic Messengers keychains.

On to more general news for October. This month I am working on drawing original angel designs for Angeltober 2023. You can follow along on social media. Some of these designs might turn into pins next year! So you can let me know if you like any in particular.

Since we're in the last stretch of 2023, I thought I'd do a recap of my upcoming plans.

First, let's look ahead to November, where I anticipate a lot will also be happening. November 24-25 2023 I'll be at the SJMade holiday fair, so I'll be working on items for that. The Cowboy Monsters, Trigun Cowboys, and a few other pins weren't quite ready in time for this update, so I'll be saving them for November. I also have some recolors of pins, including Wolf Knight and Deadwale, that might be ready by then. My plan for these November items is to a list a small quantity as usual at the beginning of the month, and save the rest for the fair. Any leftovers will be listed right after the fair, so you can expect two shop updates that month.

Looking ahead to the rest of the year, I will be working on crossing off some more pins from my self-funded to-do list: including original designs, and more fanart pins for Spiderverse, Better Call Saul, and Trigun.

I'm planning to close my Etsy shop December 8 2023, and reopen it sometime in 2024. That will be your last chance to grab any last minute gifts. My stockists will remain open so you can purchase from them while my Etsy shop is closed.

Next year I'm running my last two planned Kickstarter campaigns: Angelology IV: Angels of Extinction, which will feature designs inspired by endangered and extinct creatures; and Pride Angels, featuring angel pins in the colors of different Pride flags. This won't be my last Kickstarter campaigns ever, but probably my last for a while.

I will also have a much shorter list of pins I'm planning to self-fund in 2024: it includes some more fanart pins, the rest of the Zodiac and Astrological Putti, and a series inspired by the angelic hierarchy. I'm considering making a pin club on Ko-fi so I can share those plans and help fund those pins, without relying on Kickstarter. I would also post manufacturer reviews and merch previews. Let me know if that would be something you'd be interested in!

In 2024, outside of the Kickstarters I'm planning to scale down my pin making to focus on making other merch, I have a long backlog of stickers, keychains, and other items I've set aside this year to focus on pins. Pin making will always be my greatest passion so I don't think I'll ever stop completely, but it does take a lot of time, effort, and money and I think it's time to ease up on it so I can work on other things. I'm also looking to diversify my inventory of items, so if you have any suggestions you can send them my way. That's my early New Year's resolution anyway, we'll see if I follow through!

YUPP!! I got even more official merch in the bag this time around thanks to my lovely box split lady Harpy's on Instagram. A good chunk of the newer fan merch is actually from various zines.

Although the layout isn't as creative as last years, I think it looks just as impressive. :J I don't enjoy hanging hard keychains (acrylic, metal, etc.) over the badges, so instead I hung the key of love keychains outside of the bag! Himiko's was attached to her plush and unfortunately Shuichi, Kaede, and Ryoma were left out bc I didn't know where to display them.

Just like last year, I went to convention with extra DR merch I didn't want in the hopes of giving it to other cosplayers. There weren't a lot this year, but I managed to hand out some stickers, the V3 cast sleeping postcards, and a bunch of keychains + badges to an artist alley vendor.

I've made this recap, because I've felt that this year wasn't as prolific for me as usual and if I made the best ten/twelve kind of thing, I would have to bring up the Calendar (again), Mythos Klance Zine which is still in the making, or Commissions which I still haven't revealed, but they deserve their own space. So instead! I made a recap. Do I feel better now? Not really 🤣 I've done a lot more work that wasn't sketching this year - I made PDFs, wrote and once I started a piece I tried my best to finish it - and it translated into this. And once I think of all the progress I've made - it matches my expectations. I worked on things that were difficult for me previously and I'm proud of that. But I guess I will always miss sketching day in and day out and creating my own pieces and having more time and mind space for personal projects. I wish for next year to keep people entertained and share what I've created, and to not get drained in the meantime lol.

I also made a goal list for next year. I will have to improvise adapt overcome accordingly, but on it we have the Space-themed klance desk merch set which I was sharing lately on Patreon, hopefully with icons which you can download for your phones/tablets, taking commissions once again, including traditional, sewing and finishing a pattern for Cuddler toy keychain, finishing HEX and starting Cursed Love (Ancient AU), recording sketchbooks and/or sketching, make a plot-full Winter Wonderland continuation (with winter wedding), and a few more, and I hope any of these make you as excited and inspired to start a creative new year as me! I'm sure there is a lot more to come.

And here is a question I think everyone could benefit from while thinking of the ending 2023 and incoming 2024 - is there something that would truly make your next year simply happier?

Oh my GOODNESS, you guys! 💛💛💛 The 2023 Birthday set for Shu came in and I was NOT disappointed! The horns, wings, and tail are adorbs!

I wish they had the wall scroll like last year instead of this towel-like tapestry but it’s okay! The acrylic stand is SO cute, and they included a photo/bromide, holographic badge, and super cute acrylic keychain of him + a mini heart attached with his birthday on it! I’m in love! 😍💛

Spoilers for the Yakuza Series

So, the Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Bucket List Trailer dropped some really juicy reveals which longtime Yakuza fans will happily eat up, that being RETURNING CHARACTERS FROM PREVIOUS GAMES! Which is a big deal for the longtime Yakuza fans because, which Yakuza does bring back characters semi-consistently, the series also has a tendency to completely shelve and forget characters from game to game without even a mention (notable examples being the playable characters Tanimura from 4 and Shinada from 5 and longtime recurring character the Florist of Sai who after Yakuza 5 just disappears without any explanation). It’s also a big reason why fans disliked Yakuza 6, with it being touted and marketed as the ‘End of Kiryu’s Story’, it featured very little of Kiryu’s friends he met along his long journey and instead took place in a new city Onomichi and focused more on characters introduced in 6.

We got Kiryu returning to the classic Yakuza series location, the graves of Nishiki, Yumi and Kazama, where he of course meets Date.

Then we have Kiryu walk into Survive Bar and gets a blast from the past through finally meeting the bar’s bartender, Kashiwagi (he actually did go to Survive during Like a Dragon Gaiden but it was right when Kashiwagi was out).

Next, fresh off his surprise reappearance at the end of Like a Dragon Gaiden, Taichi surrounded by gaggle of hostesses. Gaiden reveals Taichi got a job as a firefighter, but it looks like he acquired some major money somehow. Maybe he achieved his childhood dream of becoming a pro-wrestler between 2019 and 2023/2024?

Next, we get Yuya, who RGG Studio has given an actual human-looking face to; after he had previously kept his weirdly-shaped uncanny PS2 modelled head that had his cheeks concaved in.

Then, of course, we have the man, the myth, the legend, Shun Akiyama of Sky Finance (don’t know about you guys, but I personally believe Nick Ogata in 7, who is a character I do like, was created as a fill-in character for Akiyama and Akiyama was originally written to do all the things Nick did in 7, being this enigmatic financier and sheltering Daigo, Majima and Saejima).

And, yet another major surprise, Kaoru Sayama who was major character in Yakuza 2 and famously unceremoniously leaving the series to move to America finally returns to the series after a 14/15 year absence; leaving fans especially flabbergasted considering she became Kiryu’s love interest in 2 and she never even gets talked about (in fact, I’m fairly sure the RGG team tried to pretend that their romance never happened as the recaps of Yakuza 2 put in the sequels to fill in first-time players never mention their romance and the Yakuza 3 character sheet on the start menu which denotes characters’ relationships with each other says “Just friends” with Kiryu and Kaoru). But, based on a teaser where Kiryu tells Ichiban he did in fact propose to someone before, it seems it might have been Kaoru. Plus, it seems that Kaoru is still single (I was thinking she might have been married with kids) and the dub trailer made Kaoru sound bitter about staying loyal to Kiryu.

An Ono Michio keychain. Wondering whose bag it’s on. I think maybe Haruka, Haruto or Hiromi (Kiyomi and Someya’s daughter from 6). Perhaps a hint that we might return to Onomichi and see the old Hirose Clan.

We even get a return of Yuki and Koyuki, who have seemingly kept Club Four Shine going, plus it looks like Saeko and Seong-hui are joining in. Sadly, the story hostesses from 0’s Cabaret Club Czar and Kiwami 2’s Cabaret Club Grand Prix don’t seem to be returning. Yeah, I think that characters that were played by AV actresses (i.e. almost all of the hostesses in the Yakuza series) will not come back; which I’m really disappointed by as I really liked each of the 0 hostess’ substorys. Also, that sadly means that Eri from 7 is probably not coming back as she was also played by an AV actress.

Kiryu also reunites with another old friend from all the way back since Yakuza 1, his old trainer Komaki. Infinite Wealth will stick to the RPG-style battles and job systems, and even before then the games have more-or-less moved past Komaki and other trainer characters teaching you new moves in favour of Kiryu just levelling up a skill tree on the menu, but Kiryu meeting his old master who he owes much of his acquired strength to is still great to see.

And, of course, 1 out of 4 of Kiryu oldest still living friends since 0 (the others being Daigo, Kashiwagi and Majima), Pocket Circuit Fighter; still having that photo of the two of them together that he pulls when singing Baka Mitai in Kiwami 1.

We also hear Haruka in the trailer, who I’m fairly sure was also replaced from her original English voice actor from Yakuza 1 Debi Derryberry, the voice of Jimmy Neutron. I don’t want to get into the whole voice acting controversy but, considering that Bill Farmer reprised his role of Date from Yakuza 1, I feel a little sad that all the characters who first appeared from Yakuza 1 have gotten replaced (Kiryu: Darryl Kurlyo -> Yong Yea, Majima: Mark Hamill -> Matthew Mercer, Kashiwagi: John DiMaggio -> David Hayter and Gary Buster Holmes: Gary Anthony Williams -> Isaac C. Singleton Jr.)
