Tokyo Mew Mew AU where instead of looking like a generic black cat in her cat form, Ichigo actually looks like a real iriomote wildcat.

Masaya, upon encountering her in her cat form for the first time, gets SUPER concerned that this incredibly endangered cat is just. wandering the busy, high-traffic suburban area and might get hurt or worse, and resolves to take it to the proper experts instead of home. Cue Ichigo having to frantically escape a LOT faster than she did in the series.

After they start dating and he Knows she's a mew mew it's a funny story looking back, and going forward he tries to help her keep her secret!

...But Ichigo's school friends catch him carrying her in her cat form around school (trying to find a more private place to help her get back to human form) and they tearfully approach her like, hey, Ichigo, we don't know how to break it to you, but...we think the reason your boyfriend is so knowledgeable about the environment? He's smuggling animals or something. he was sneaking around with one and acting really sketchy. Your boyfriend is an endangered animal smuggler 😔

And they take her being really defensive of him as Denial. Masaya thinks this is HILARIOUS and assures her that its fine with him if they think that about him so long as her secret stays safe. Ichigo def ends up telling Moe and Miwa that she's a mew mew in this AU to clear Masaya's name in the end, though. They're mortified they accused him of that, but he assures them he appreciates their efforts to make sure Ichigo is dating a decent person and not like. An Animal Smuggler.

despite having a thing in my header saying I'm askable, I don't get asks from (relative) strangers that often, so this is great. unless you're a bot or trying to dox me, in which case, I will be sad. but otherwise!

the most influential book in my life is atul gawande's better, which, through changing my understanding of the scope of health interventions, diverted me from lab wetwork microbiology into public health epi. it's also just really good; it's unfair that some people can doctor and write.

had this assignment due last week that I ended up turning in 3 days late and it was like 6 pages long and very detailed and I'm now doing a peer review and this person has 1 page comprised primarily of single sentence descriptions of historical events

#i have called #so many medical people in the past two days #i finally got my referral but the person they referred me to had Really Shitty Reviews i come to find out #and wouldn't see me until mid february at the earliest #so i've been #on and off the phone with my insurance asking what i can do #and they finally got me the info for another office #but they wouldn't talk to me until i had the referral sent to them #so i had to go BACK to my insurance and say 'yes please send the referral to them' #and then i was BACK to the new office but they didn't pick up so now i'm just #waiting for a call back so i can hopefully schedule an appointment #sometime before mid february #it is #kind of a leap of faith at this point because there's no guarantee they'll have any appointments earlier #but at the same time #they literally list the medical procedure i need on their office website which is Leagues™ above the other office #which had a blank facebook page and nothing else #(and also reviews saying multiple people got turned away for their issue being '''too big''' for them to deal with) #(with most people citing 'it was bigger than a pea and they said no' which is) #(bad for me who is dealing with a rapidly-growing walnut-sized tumor) #(which will be the size of a lime by the time i see them in february) #(so here's hoping 🤞) #anyway sorry for the constant tag vents i am just #going through a whole lot of nonsense right now sdkfjhglk
