YANDERE ! BATFAM W/ MILES MORALES (BUT GENDER NEUTRAL) ! READER

Just an outline for a potential full on fic to come.

First of all, I’d like to put credit where credit is due and thank Kden (from Quotev) for creating Straight Venomous and inspiring me to start this. And thank you firefly-graphics and galacticgrafitti for the dividers.

Damian and Reader are of legal age in this fic but there will still be an age gap between them and Bruce (I mean he literally fathered the former so it can’t be helped)

This is my first fic in Tumblr so forgive me if it isn’t up to par for quality and format wise as I’m still learning.

CW/TW: Reader is POC coded as in Latino/Black like Miles although you can kinda have to squint since it’s only from the dialogue with their mother in future chapters. Reader is described to have gained “muscles” and height. Spoilers for Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse. NO NSFW YET BUT WILL COME IN LATER CHAPTERS.

WHAT’S UP DANGER (PART ONE)

“If I sound lazy just ignore my tone, cause I’m always gonna answer when you call my phone

like what’s up danger?”

You most likely met Damian first.

He was astonished by how much of a failure you were. Really, he wouldn’t have noticed you in the first place if you weren’t such a catastrophe. He knew you only got to his school via raffle but even the worst students here didn’t get complete zeroes on all their scores.

He was probably assigned to be your tutor. Which you remember vehemently refusing. After all you wanted to be expunged from this god awful preppy school filled with elites of all kinds. But nope — you were forced to get along with the worst of them all. Damian Wayne. Perhaps you’ve gone too far and should have settled for a 20 or something on that paper instead . . . or all those quizzes and assignments you purposely got zeroes on.

In any case you now had the Damian Wayne inside your house (if you even call it that) and a paper to write about your ambitions or whatever.

You were basically complete opposites. He was rich, you were below average if not just straight up poor. You even bet he was a daddy’s boy or some shit. (But who were you to judge when your first day at the school literally consisted of your father forcing you to say you love him . . . with the loudest speakers known to man!) He was probably into classical music and while you did enjoy the genre as well you were more of a hip-hop, trap, pop music sorta guy. He was known as a snob that didn’t take bullshit from anyone while you were literally the definition of a pushover.

But surprisingly you two clicked really well. It started with you off-handedly correcting one of his mistakes. It wasn’t supposed to reach his ears really. But the realization that you, the bottom feeder of all bottom feeders corrected him flustered him entirely. That moment stuck within his head for the entire week that it even slipped into his vigilante activities.

Like, after single-handedly decimating a group of people trying to rob a bank he just yells, “How the hell did I get that wrong?!” while that one dude pretending to be unconscious in the background so he wouldn’t get beaten up harder just stares at him in confusion and shock.

After he cools down a bit, he starts wondering how you got it right. He looks into your scores and notices everything before his intervention were literally straight zeroes. Not just in the classes you two shared. It was either you were extremely (un)lucky or . . . you knew every answer from the start.

So he starts taunting you. Forcing you to display your prowess. Calling you an idiot, poor, nobody when you didn’t relent to his provocation.

And so you did. You showed him that you really didn’t need help from him. That you were a genius in your own right. Capable of doing advanced arithmetics within seconds in your head. You were fascinating to him.

And maybe the fact that only he got to know this side of you — not your classmates or teachers, even your parents now that you’ve secured a dorm room close to him (courtesy of the Wayne name) — knew about your intelligence inflated his ego. If only you didn’t have a roommate that bothered you two once in a while. He was quite the annoyance with how the music in his headphones could be heard even across the room. Like seriously, how was the boy not deaf yet?

It was around that time you got your powers.

You began avoiding him (and everyone really) but mostly him (he’d convinced himself). You’d only come to his desk once in a while to tell him that you weren’t available for tutoring that day, or even that entire week. Not to mention your sudden growth in height and muscles. Were you going through . . . puberty? No wait— you’re older than him by a year! Perhaps you were a late bloomer? You probably just started a gym membership. But he didn’t spot you in any gyms throughout Gotham out on his patrol. Not even at your room at night…

That and your already sus scores and attitude prompted him to instigate an entire investigation.

Who was [Y/N] [L/N]?

He knew some facts about you just from your room, the fact that you enjoyed music of all sorts and art, more specifically the graphic - pop look. He even started noticing your name-tags that you’d put everywhere both in his civilian and vigilante life. Seriously, how were you able to put it atop this streetlamp of all places?

Then he started noticing how alike you two actually are. Aside from enjoying art and all, you were incredibly rebellious. You had a relationship with your dad that could only remind him of his with Bruce. He knew you probably get reprimanded for all the vandalism you’ve gotten up to all the time. A small smile graced his lips at the thought.

However this only made him question your avoidance even more. So he decided to take a step further and trail you as robin (even harder).

You were getting really close with this Gwen girl in class. He quipped in his head as he noticed you two walking together.

Were you . . . going to the gym to impress her?

You didn’t seem like the type to change yourself for the sake of others. Despite your downtrodden attitude about academics. He can see the hidden potential, that confidence he wanted out for him to witness and bask in. He wanted to see all sides of you he realized.

He wanted to be the only one who did.

But just as he was about to follow you two into a dark alleyway he gets called by Dick of all people to investigate something else. Something about a man trying to cross realities and universes? Pah, as if that was more important than this. Nightwing can handle himself. He couldn’t have his competence questioned though. So with a reluctant sigh, he takes off into the night sky. Wondering what the pair he followed could be doing.

absolutely wouldn't jump at you but would throw everything they're holding to catch you, even if it ends disastrously, they can forgive you because they rather like holding you in their arms while you cheekily thank them and promise to help clean up their things :p

ALOY, bennett, ganyu, KAEDEHARA KAZUHA, ei, rosaria, EULA, childe, XIAO, beidou, zhongli

think this is the cutest idea ever and look desperately for a proper time to do it when you're not holding anything and you're in a good mood (and you're on soft ground just in case) -- and yet they still manage to screw up the timing and cause you both to go sprawling in a pile, them giggling with a flushed face and you rolling your eyes with amused exasperation.

collei, KAMISATO AYAKA, mona, XIANGLING, venti, YOIMIYA

try so hard to catch you and twirl you around, but fail miserably and you would both end up stumbling into each other awkwardly, having to steady yourself with your hands on their shoulders, doubled over by hiccupping and almost painful laughter.

amber, ITTO, chongyun, GOROU, sangonomiya kokomi, AETHER, yanfei

would ACTUALLY catch you, because they are amazing, and smile, blushing faintly, when you clap and praise them for being perfect with a huge smile on your face.

DILUC, JEAN, kujou sara, KUKI SHINOBU, noelle, razor, SHENHE, thoma, xinyan

effortlessly dodge out of the way and laugh in your face when you go sprawling on the ground, complaining loudly about being spurned. if you bother them enough about it they'll probably help you up, but otherwise, whatever they're holding takes top priority. they know you'll forgive them anyhow >:3

Dancing With Them

A/n: I can’t dance at all. 🙂

Characters: Lyney, Venti, Kazuha, Albedo, Aether, Xingqiu, Ayato, Thoma

+Bonus: Nilou, Yun Jin, Ayaka, Barbara, Columbina, Eula, Lynette

Lyney:

Lyney is a professional dancer and he performs all of the time, so as his s/o, it’s natural to him that he would try to teach you how to dance as well. No matter how many mistakes you make or how much you mess up, he still offers his hand each time with a small smile on his face. <3

Venti:

Venti doesn’t really know how to dance either, so it’s just a freestyle. Venti would use the wind to make it more fun and exciting and would even lift you up into the air for fun which results you both falling onto the ground laughing. It’s overall pretty exciting to dance with Venti and sometimes you wish that moments like these could last forever.

Kazuha:

Kazuha likes to dance with you under the moonlight and when it’s slightly breezy outside.

It’s really cute since no matter how many times you step on his foot, he still holds you close and never lets go.

Albedo:

Albedo is a prince okay. Ok, so, I feel like he would have some experience in dancing. If one day Albedo is in a odd mood, he would lift you up from your seat and start twirling you around his room. It’s fun at first until you notice that the star that was previously on his neck is missing.

Aether:

Instead of Aether asking you for a dance, you take his hand into your own and start going around the room. You mostly do this when he’s not in a good mood or when he’s drowning himself in his depressing thoughts. Even though it’s a small gesture, he still appreciates it and it makes him feel better.

Xingqiu:

Xingqiu probably took lessons to learn how to dance since he’s from a rich family, but he most likely didn’t stick to it since he chose books over exercise. Even though he told you this fact, it was sort of hard to believe since he literally does a flip in the air when he’s fighting.

Sometimes when Xingqiu finishes reading a good book, he would take your hand and start twirling you around the room talking about how amazing the book was. 💙

Ayato:

Ayato treats you like a princess and will kiss your hand when he asks for you to dance with him. He already took lessons since he has to eventually dance with his future wife- *COUGH* (you) so he made sure to perfect every step.

You don’t even know it, but he’s been teaching you how to dance for a while now. Until the day he proposes and the day of your wedding, he will make sure you know each and every step.

Thoma:

This is canon in my head and I can’t stop thinking about it. Thoma WILL dance with you whenever he’s cleaning or when the Kamisato’s are out doing errands. It’s something you both do in secret.

When Ayaka eventually catches you both, she can’t help but smile at the heaetwarming moment.

Bonus!!

Nilou:

Dancing with Nilou will be a lot of fun and you can’t tell me otherwise. Whether you're both dancing in water or in the desert or even on stage- it’s still something you both enjoy.

Yun Jin:

Dancing and singing with Yun Jin is definitely a learning experience since you learn a lot about opera and you both teach each other new dancing moves.

Ayaka:

Ayaka thought that dancing with you would be embarrassing at first since she can’t really dance herself (lie), but when you both step into the water and start twirling each other around while laughing, she can’t help but treasure the moment.

She hopes that she could dance like this with you forever. This thought causes her to have dreams about you both eventually getting married. <3

Barbara:

You and Barbara are both idols and you both enjoy performing on stage together. Singing with each other brings joy to the both of you and it’s something that makes all the bad thoughts and stress in Barbara’s head go away.

Columbina:

Columbina was shocked when you suddenly took her hand and started twirling her around. Columbina is a singer, not a dancer. It was cute seeing her shocked for the first time, but that expression quickly turns into a look of happiness as she starts matching your every step. You taking her hand was just a reminder of why she loves you! <3

Eula:

Eula is a professional dancer, so to be honest, you already lost. Eula would give you dancing lessons on a daily basis if you ask her and will teach you while trying to seem professional at the same time. (Even though she's embarrassed. Plus points if you compliment her dancing skills!)

Lynette:

Lynette met you during one of her and her brother’s performances. Even though her brother enjoyed performing, she didn’t really like the experience. Whenever the performances were over, she would watch as everyone else was dancing with their partner or friends.

When you came over to her and asked her to dance for the first time, that was the day that she felt human emotions for the first time.

She fell in love. 🌹💞

She knows everything about your social life. She hacks into all your social media to see what you're doing and who you're talking to

This is all before your first conversation

She was hoping that if she knew about you, then it'd be easier to hold a conversation with you

Though, she didn't have to do all that, because she quickly found that you had a crush on Batgirl

^ She knows she approach you as batgirl, but if something bad were to happen to you and you needed help- Well, she'd have to help you, right?

You were excited to meet her, even though you were tied up and in danger

After she saves you, she's quick to start a conversation with you

You're literally foaming out of the mouth and she thinks you're adorable

You're impressed by her and inspired

Your interest revolve around her and she's flattered

She quickly changes back to Barbara Gordon, to ask her father what's going on and that's where you both meet [Or at least where you meet her civilian form.]

You both end up getting along really well

Your obsession with batgirl ends up going down and you start to really like Barbara

She's nice and kind, which is hard to find in Gotham

She also shares a lot of the same interest as you [Or so she appears too]

It's like you've known her your whole life

Though, you slowly realize that her life is pretty hectic and she keeps secrets from you

It saddens you, but you don't want to seem invasive. She deserves her privacy just as much as you deserve your own- You just wished she'd let you in or at least acknowledge that she has these secrets, instead of pretending they don't exist

Venti

✧ Clingy with the need of attention - this is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about him.

✧ He has a tendency to act like a child. He is everywhere and needs attention.

Have you seen what is happening in the market? No? You both have to go there now!

Were you watching me doing that trick? Well, see it now!

Are you listening to me at all? That day...

If he has your attention, he feels loved. Therefore, he gets jealous. More for show than for real but guys around you should be aware because he'll give stare at them or he'll just grab your hand and take you away without explanation.

✧ Venti likes to use the wind to pick you up. He'll make your hair look bad in a funny way or lift your skirt for if you wear it (within the limits of decency of course, almost...).

✧ He will sing for you any time of the day or night. Whether it's a private concert or a drunken shanty at Angel's Share, he'll take out his lyre and charm you and others present with his voice.

✧ He often takes you to the big tree in Windrise. Then he gets more serious and instead of quick kisses, before you expect it, he lays his head on your shoulder, reminiscing about older times. Then he also honestly talks about how much he appreciates you and what you have changed in his life.

Zhongli

✧ Master of remembering details. The little things you shared with him, even long ago, turn into something special. Whether it's a gift or a place you wanted to see.

✧ His way of showing affection is to support and care for you. If you're having a bad day at a restaurant, he'll always gently ask how you're feeling. If you want to tell him, he'll listen, if not, he's got plenty of stories to distract you from your problems. Traditionally, he will make tea and then cover you with a blanket and you will sit together.

✧ Zhongli is a person who is used to showing affection more in private than in public but if you like walking around the city hand in hand, he doesn't mind.

✧ He loves to cuddle. You always feel safe in his arms.

✧ When you offered to comb his hair, he agreed and he must admit that he liked it a lot more than he thought. Now he often lets you do it or braid it.

Gorou

✧ If he's happy, his tail starts wagging. This is especially common with you. You can easily tell his emotions by his ears. Ever since a rumor spread among his people that his ears were lucky, you started petting them for fun. Embarrassed, he admitted that he liked it very much.

✧ Since the war in Inazuma ended, you have more time for each other. He especially appreciates being with you. Even if it's just paperwork, he doesn't mind. However, he especially encourages you to climb with him. He will always check the equipment several times and whether you are well fastened. He wants to be sure of your safety.

✧ He often brings you small gifts. Especially shells from the beach or pearls from Watatsumi. At some point it occurred to him that you probably had many of them before, after all, you lived on this island since childhood. He flattened his ears and started promising bringing something else but you assured him that the presents were beautiful and made a necklace out of them. She’d probably buy you stickers to put on your skateboard

She’d love to try it one day if you let her

I feel like she’d actually be pretty good at it bc she alr has good balance bc of her wind gliding skills

Sometimes she worries about you getting hurt, but she knows you can handle yourself

If you did get hurt though, she’d be so worried

Would probably scold you for doing reckless tricks and hurting yourself, but she couldn’t stay mad bc she loves you too much!

Albedo

He would think it’s really cool that you know how to skateboard!

He would definitely sketch you on your skateboard

If you let him, he’d probably even paint on your skateboard

I don’t think he’d be interested in trying it himself, but that’s ok!

I feel like you would go on dates in the park where you skateboard while he watches and takes care of Klee from a park bench

Klee would beg you and Albedo to let her try, but Albedo didn’t want her to fall and get hurt

Barbara

Very supportive

She wouldn’t be interested in trying it herself, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t enjoy watching

Similar to Albedo, she’d love going on dates in the dark where you skate and she watches

She worries about you getting hurt sometimes

Relationship headcanons or something pt. 3 w/ Yoimiya, Layla, Barbara

Includes: gn!reader, reader is interested in architecture and Archons history (Barbara's part) and star gazing (Layla's part), a bit of Roman mythology in Layla's part, reader is a minor in Barbara's part

Here's part 2 and part 4 :D

Yoimiya:

In my personal opinion Yoimiya is rather clumsy and forgetful person but her gymnastics skills help her not to hurt herself

But still that doesn't mean everything stays in place when she trips and saves herself

And that's how you met, ordering fireworks from her father and when you came to get them, she bumped into you with whole box of some sort of powder, making both you and her, all dirty

She immediately started apologizing and trying to wipe the powder off of you, unfortunately it didn't do much

So she decided to give you your fireworks for free as some sort of compensation

Later on some festivals that you brought said fireworks for, it happened that your place was also her place to fire them

So you started talking, and talking and talking till the morning came

Each time you were at her place you helped her with moving stuff so she won't spill it again

And slowly but surely developed feelings for each other

But when she decided to confess, oh god, it was wild I tell you

She went near your house and fired the fireworks, practically screaming "I love you" with fireworks behind her

Layla:

Of course you found her passed out from exhaustion in some random field of grass

The worst part is that nearby was Emirates camp

So as worried person you are, you dragged her by legs under some thick tree where they wouldn't see you

And I'm telling you, she slept through that dragging as hard as a rock

When another hour passed and she still didn't woke up, you gently poked her and immediately she shot up, confused, worried and utterly disoriented

After she calmed down you explained to her what happened it turned out that she's akademiya student, of course she's tired, that wasn't a suprise to you now

But since then she asked you everytime she would go out to study outside if you would want to accompany her since you told her you like star gazing

So you did, each time, watching stars with her and making sure she wouldn't pass out in not very safe place again

Also helping her study from time to time, listening to her talking about stars with a little weak smile that wasn't very usual on her face

The star gazing studying turned into small picnics and finally a small camping since Layla found herself sleeping on fresh air the best

Similar to Kokomi, she was too shy to confess that she likes you and scared that you will reject her even though you clearly gave away so many hints and even openly telling her you like like her

So instead one early morning when stars were still seen morning you took her and pointed straight at one of the stars and said "Look at tell me what is this star", it was Venus*, she looked at you, then at the star and again at you and again at the star, she did it like five times and then her face became all red, definitely understanding what you tried to say

*Venus(goddess of love and beauty in Roman mythology) is frequently referred to as the Morning Star and if you are up early on Valentine's Day, you will spot her shining brightly at around 8am.

Barbara:

One day on your trip in Mondstad with your family you decided to finally visit the cathedral since it looked amazing from far away

Even closer it looked amazing, all the details on it left you speechless

And it was even better from the inside

Out of curiosity you asked one of the nuns about it's history and how the one it was made to worship, Barbatos

The nun only looked at you rather.... displeased and showed you about nun in blonde curly ponytails telling you to ask her about it

So you did, kinda scared of first nun

But the second nun, or Barbara how she told you to call her, was very energetic and sweet but also passionate about the church

It wasn't everyday someone asked about it or its history

The conversation shifted from the church to Barbatos to knights and finally you very quickly, she was really excited to hear about your life in another region and how it looks like from religious perspective

Then she offered to show you more of Mondstad, show you all the statues too

You were more than happy to, with such a sweet company

After you unfortunately needed to leave the city, you started exchanging letters with her, also offering her to come to your nation

And that's how visiting started, showing eachother new places, having small picnics and finally catching feelings, even if the relationship might be hard through letters mostly, it was still worth a try, now only time will show how it will turn out

You're a statue... or are you?

My notes: yeah so, we broke up. Im back on my bullshit, have a happy new year.

She knows the legend holds true, she saw it take place after all. Her dearest companion, turned to stone, right before her eyes.

She made sure the one who done it paid in blood for taking you away.

Overcome by grief she sealed herself away, unable to look at your petrified face. She failed to protect yet another one she cared for.

And here she was now, half a millennium after that forsaken day, strolling through Inazuma all alone.

Citizens did not dare to get in her way, parting like the sea, avoiding her empty stare.

Before she knew of it she was facing your statue. The plaque of metal at your feet tells your story vaguely, the last inscription reading "only a touch of their soulmate may free them now."

At once Ei struck it with her spear, if it only were that simple you'd be in her arms right now.

Discarding her spear she stepped forward and reached for your outstretched hand, the last plea, she remembers how you screamed for her help.

She wasn't fast enough. Thunder comes after lightning, she didn't possess her sister's swiftness.

Little cracks adorned your fingers, a sign of the years of erosion washed over you. She traced them, found her way into your arms again. She didn't know what she was expecting, you were as cold as the steel of a blade.

Until you weren't.

Hard surface rapidly turned into tender flesh.

Now there was a limp body in her arms. Frozen in place Ei held you, quietly she returned to her mind-scape, prompting the Shogun to take over.

Ei sunk to her knees slowly bringing you down, resting your body against hers. A hand reached to the base of your neck, tears gliding down her face as she felt your pulse.

Not a soul knows how much time the electro archon spent cradling your body close to her own, unmoving as she listened to you breathe.

Eventually, your eyes slowly opened, and Ei was there to return your stare, a longing look in her eyes.

A soft gasp passed your lips. Your eyes scanned your surroundings before looking back at her, confusion written on your face.

"Are we dead?"

She shook her head slowly, her red-rimmed eyes holding emotions far bigger than herself.

Her hand gently came to brush your hair out of your face "Do you remember me?"

You held her palm to your face, leaving a soft touch of your lips as your vision became muddled by tears of your own.

"I won't ever forget you, Ei."

Sara

She was patrolling when she spotted Itto surrounded by children next to the statue of the "forgotten lover", so of course, she became suspicious.

Joining the tiny crowd she endured the oni's babbles about how the statue is a person, waiting for their lover to set them free and demonstrating by touching it. Nothing happened.

"Aw man, your loss my statue!"

Sara has had enough, "Arataki Itto, leave the tri-commission's property alone at once." She said, hand reaching out to remove him, but that silly man had other plans.

"Kujou's turn!" He loudly announced as he took a side step, Sara's hands now resting on your stone-cold chest.

For a second she closed her eyes in frustration, then she heard the collective gasps of those around. The stone was cracking open.

Afraid she might have damaged the art piece she stepped away, letting you break out of the shell with the grace of a newborn calf trying to stand up.

Acting on instinct she caught you before you could meet the ground. Your eyes met hers for a moment before you went limp.

"I'll take them to the infirmary." She announced before marching off, carrying you in her arms now. The pang in her heart went unnoticed.

The people were in shock, she was in shock. The tale was true, you were just rock mere moments ago. Or were you trapped in rock? There were too many thoughts going through her head.

After a quick check-up and administrating of fluids the doctors assured you just needed to rest and recover before they left.

Sitting beside your bed, head resting in her hands, she couldn't bring herself to leave. The part of the story where only your lover could set you free repeating in her mind.

Everything else in the story was real. She remembers passing you by for years, have you been waiting all this time? Were you able to see her, were you silently waiting all along?

Several days passed before you opened your eyes again, Sara was there when it happened.

The nice guest room you were in left ignored as your irises focused on her. You tried to speak but it only resulted in a cough.

Sara was quick to bring you into a sitting position with one arm and bring a cup of water to your lips with the other. "Here. Don't force yourself."

After your cup was empty she tried to lead you down again but you remained upright, a determined stare in your eye as you gripped the blanket.

"Are— Are you the one? You broke me free didn't you?" Your voice was frail, yet it filled the otherwise silent room, Sara nodded.

"Save your energy, I'll bring you something to eat."

With her figure gone your eyes finally noticed your surroundings, the room was clean, a window cracked open letting fresh air in. The furniture, though scarce, was made of reddish wood, atop a low desk was a statue of the Shogun a little vase with lavender flowers next to her.

And returned she was, Sara came in holding a little table with five dishes, among them there was an egg roll bearing the electro sigil.

She sat it down in front of you, taking her place next to your futon.

"I must say I have a plethora of questions for you. Regardless, your recovery is the priority, here let me—" but you were already eating with the vigor of a starved wolf. Pausing for a minute when you heard her abrupt stop.

Remembering your manners you gave an apologetic smile "thank you".

"Don't mention it," she said before motioning you to continue "it's good to see you have an appetite, my name is Kujou Sara."

Well, you were glad to finally meet her. You'll have to introduce yourself and tell her what happened to you... as soon as you remember.

Sucrose

She's exploring on the field looking for new specimens to experiment on when she finds you.

Stance crooked, more than half of you is covered in moss and birds have made their nest in your outstretched palm. Curiously, only one finger stands up proudly while the rest are curled in.

"Fascinating..."

She approaches as if you'd come to life any second, careful to avoid the patch of mushrooms growing close by your legs, bleh.

Taking out a notebook she starts scribbling with great interest. Common moss from your shoes to your torso, the lichens there are not anything special either, what caught her attention was a lonely astilbe flower growing from your hood as dirt slowly gathered there over time.

It is a rather small and sturdy specimen with pale pink petals to match it.

With skilled hands she replanted the flower where it could thrive, taking a part of it for further examination.

"Here you go." She says, dusting off her gloves looking proud of her work.

She turns to head back toward her lab and mark you on her map. Only that when she does you're sitting down, your legs crossed, very much alive and breathing.

"WAAAAAA!"

She stumbles backward, landing on the forest floor looking at you with wide eyes, mouth agape.

"Hello" you raise your hand as if to wave, only to put it back down after "do you know where I am?" you ask. The fact you don't know your location not seeming to affect you very much.

"Y— You're alive"

"Clearly. Are you lost as well?"

She shakes her head, a nervous twitch in her ears matching her trembling fingers. Cute.

"Were you alive from the beginning? Is it a special ability? A defense mechanism perhaps?" Curiosity rests behind her round glasses, she tucks her legs close to sit more comfortably as you two converse.

"Nothing of the sort, I got trapped in 'undying ice' by a woman after I stumbled upon her and a bard talking," you say, eyes looking down as you pick at the moss on your clothes. It surely will take more than one good scrub to take it off.

Taking her pen out once again Sucrose started taking notes. Recreating this type of ice would be a massive discovery in bio-alchemy and a step closer to her wonderland.

"Do you perhaps know how she made it?" She asks, looking up from the notebook, her eyebrows furrowed.

"With her hands. Allegedly, she is a love goddess, and only 'my one true love can ever get me out of it'." You roll your eyes speaking with faux grandeur.

A bigger twitch in her ears, almost making them stand up. Eyes widening, her face reddening she adjusts her glasses.

"As if such a thing as a soulmate exists," you continue your little rant as poor Sucrose tried to gather herself.

Soulmates? You and her? Being busy with her studies all the time she never stopped to think about such things.

"So are you gonna tell me where we are or am I just going to go figure it out on my own?" You tell her as you stand up, a myriad of bones popping and cracking in your body as you stretch.

"We... we're in the outskirts of Mondstad," she says, catching up to guide you out of the forest before you have the chance to get yourself lost.

You hum in response before settling to walk beside her. "I'm S/O, by the by."

"Sucrose, nice to find you."

Fischl

She's read a book about it. A knight beyond this realm was sent on a mission to rescue a princess, now trapped in stone by the gods for intruding upon teyvat. Only the princess herself could rescue them.

Lo and behold the statue in Mondstad matched the sketch drawn in said book to perfection.

Why would the gods imprison you for trying to save someone? In the city of freedom, no less.

She couldn't possibly allow that to pass, it was her duty as a member of the adventurer's guild to free you, or so she told Oz.

Stepping into the garden, she could almost see your face from where it was hidden in your palms, your legs crossed resting on a stone pedestal. Judging by the moss at your feet this was a new implementation to preserve you.

She let her hand rest on one of your own, just what happened to you?

She gasped, eyes widening as the rock chipped at every corner and slowly you rose your head from your palms, rubble falling down your body like ashes. Tear-stained face peering into her own.

Your head tilted slightly as you rubbed your eyes, looking mystified by her.

"Princess?" You inquire in a hush, "What happened to your eye? Are you alright?" Before you could move to get down she raises a hand before you.

"Halt, you know who I am?"

"Are you not Princess Fischl?" You move your legs to dangle from the pedestal. "You sure look alike. She fled the castle and left me a note asking me to come find her here, she doesn't want to marry the prince her family betrothed her to." You explain while fiddling your fingers.

"What hath happened to thee then? wherefore w're thee a statue?"

There was a fond look in your eyes as you leaned forward.

"Why you speak like her as well, are you sure you're not my princess? Are you playing a trick on me, your royal highness?" You teased.

"I am not, anon answ'r mine own questions betimes thee knight!"

A gentle smile settled on your lips as you moved to the right, patting the place next to you "take a seat, I'll tell you everything mein fräulein."

Barbara

She remembers a young Jean telling her about the statue of the one who learned to fly, trapped in stone by Decarabian soon after.

Pax Ventus was the name inscribed at your feet, the legend came to be as a tale sung by bards throughout history.

The inventor who crafted the first glider in an attempt to escape oppression, to this day your statue carries your symbol of freedom.

After a particularly tiring day, Barbara went on a walk to her one quiet place, filled with memories of her early childhood.

"I'm just as tall as you now, maybe next year you'll be the short one." Talking with a statue wasn't the sanest activity, but you were in a quiet area rarely visited by others.

Looking down she could see vines have climbed up your legs, again, "Oh goodness, does nobody care for you? Don't worry, Barbara's here." She asked as she knelt to unwrap the leaf climbers.

She stood back up when your stone shell began to break, revealing a perfectly frozen-in-time you.

You tried to step but quickly figured your legs weren't cooperating.

"Careful!" Luckily Barabara swept in quickly, walking you to a nearby bench.

The sky is bright, warm weather, and lush greens? "Am I in heaven? Are you an angel?" You turned to the deaconess, a dazzled expression on your face.

"Oh no," she waved her hands in front of herself "You're in Mondstad, I'm Barbara, just a regular person." She specified with a curt smile.

"Mondstad? I'm from Mond but I've never seen it else than cold n' gloomy." You fiddle with the leaves of a nearby bush. "How long have I been trapped?"

"I'm afraid I don't know, you been here since I could remember Pax." She shook her head, folding her hands in her lap.

"Pax? My name is S/O," you raised an eyebrow, who would name their child Peace?

"Ah! I'm terribly sorry, I thought the writing there was your name," she explained pointing towards where you stood just minutes ago.

You pushed the laugh bubbling in your chest down, how could someone from Mond not know Latin?

"Mind helping me out of these?" You rolled your shoulders, the wings on your back moving in sync.

"Of course."

With a few instructions, together you managed to undo the harness, letting your back rest on the wooden bench.

Quickly going to inspect your equipment you raised in the air a strange greenish orb encased in a golden frame. "I didn't make this" You mumbled.

Barbara gasped, hands clasped at her mouth and eyes wide.

"Oh uh sorry, it just slipped," you raised your other hand in front of yourself with an apologetic smile, unaware of the importance of the object in your hands.

On Wings of Freedom - Barbara x Male!Reader

CW: Male!Reader, Barbara is either adult or reader is around her age, not proofread, awful poetry (poetry is hard, especially in a foreign language 😭but I tried okay?).

You inspect the lyre for the seventh time. Everything seems in order, but your mind restlessly seeks faults. Anything to improve, anything to correct - do any act of final preparation. The audience claps and your fellow poet bows, humming in satisfaction. He walks off of the stage, patting you on the shoulder on his way out.

"Break a leg, my friend. Good luck." He stops for a brief moment and smiles kindly.

"Thanks…" It's all your throat, tight with stress, can let out. The bard leaves and you step on the stage slowly, holding your breath. The tavern goers look at you with restrained curiosity, understanding of your stage fright in their expectation. Guests on the second floor lean against the railing, their gazes fixed on you as well. You focus on the end of the hall, spotting a familiar, teal-clad musician. Venti winks at you and holds his thumb up. You smile at his cheering, and shift your attention to one particular visitor. You might be in the spotlight for the majority of Angel's Share, but for you the true star is she. Barbara sips her Jueyun Chilli brew, eyes focused on you.

You clear your throat and take a deep breath. The string of your instrument are moved with practiced ease by your slender digits, accompanying your trained voice.

The tavern fills with the sound of clapping and cheering. You bow slightly, your eyes never leaving hers. Barbara is blushing slightly, her quick claps sounding out as the loudest.

"That was Y/N of Springvale with the song Wings of Freedom. Bravo for him!"

The crowd is further animated, the sound of whistling and encouragement nearly deafening. You smile broadly, bowing time and time again.

"Thank you, thank you!"

Waving your hand, you make your way off the stage, making space for Six-Fingered José.

"Good luck." You say, but he doesn't answer, sending you a thankful nod instead.

The speaker starts announcing your subsequent, but you don't listen. Your attention is focused on Barbara, who stands up from her seat, leaving Lumine with only Paimon as company. She motions for you to follow and turns to leave the establishment. For her safety, you leave through the back door. As you close the door behind you, José's performance begins.

You circle around the tavern to find Barbara next to the outside tables. She rocks up and down on her feet, her hands behind her back and a deep crimson on her face. Her eyes are glued to the floor, occasionally glancing up at the approaching you. You stop in front of her. You awkwardly smile at her, rubbing your forearm.

"Y-yes, Y/N…" She speaks quietly, so much so that it's barely audible. Your heart speeds up. "I love you as well. I'll date you!"

You can't resist the urge. Smiling like never before you grab a hold of her and pull her into a bone crushing embrace. She squeals in surprise and giggles as you lift her up and spin her around.

"I love you Barbara, I love you so much! I'm so happy!" You stop. Both of you stare into each other's eyes for a solid second, before you blush and avert your eyes. You set her down, rubbing the back of your head.

"S-sorry, Barbs. I didn't mean to-" Before you can finish, she places a peck on your cheek.

"I would have done just the same thing if I were you, hehe!"

You stand there in silence, either of you too excited to know what to do next. Barbara, still blushing heavily, gently put your hand in hers.

"How about we go to Cat's Tail, hm? My treat! Your throat must be so tired after such a stunning performance, I'm sure of it! Diona will probably be happy to make something non-alcoholic for a change as well, I can tell! So what do you say?"

You grab her other hand and place a quick kiss on her forehead.

"Let's go!"
