A 1/2 review of Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood 2019 review
By Sam B.; Rewatched Jul 24, 2019
To be at the end of an era is one helluva thing, and Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time In Hollywood almost feels prophetic now, coming at the tail-end of an age for cinema, a medium that has since been irrevocably altered, with no clear path forward. The film itself is the opposite of a eulogy, a ressurection of some falsified past. It is a vile motion picture.
The first two interimible hours are a sub-par hangout movie with some cranky metatext. Dicaprio plays Rick Dalton, a star who never quite gets his due, in a startlingly nondescript role that leaves Leo floundering to make any choices in performance. Brad Pitt is very good and very wrong for the role of Cliff, a happy-to-be-here wife-killer stunt double who offers Dalton ceaseless half-earnest validation (the better version of this Hollywood arrived during the film’s awards campaign, in Pitt and DiCaprio’s interview with Marc Maron). The male bonding here is witless and monotonous; Without the too-clever dialogue as a distraction, Tarantino’s just a hack who can’t structure a narrative.
It’s an ugly looking film, too; The cinematography is piss-yellow and lifeless, as if the colorist colorist were a drunk housepainter for a Days Inn. For a filmmaker so enamored with artificial pastiche, Tarantino gives the audience little to gawk at, the low-key energy of those long drives distending into uninspired boredom.
The relative absense of Charles Manson himself in the film is one of the less sinister, clearer creative decisions in the film, because the leader was already omnipresent in California in the late sixties, his hoard connected to every production and party. It’s been argued that this is meant to be emasculating, but the lack of an actual figurehead prohibits any demystification of the cult, let alone real insight into its impact on culture. Manson is made a ghost, breaking any warm delusions the film presents about old Hollywood. The camera explores Spahn Ranch and its inhabitants with the same mild curiosity and nostalgia as the Sunset Strip as if guided by that spectre, but Tarantino offers inconsistent answers to what, exactly, he’s haunting.
OUATIH is hyper-focused on cultures that oppress women, though to what end remains unclear for most of the runtime. Much has been made of Margot Robbie’s lack of lines, but I am less concerned with that metric (her hacky, maudlin setpiece remains the only scene in the film to achieve a childlike wonder) than the quesy evocations of engendered violence. The casting of Maya Hawke (whose mother, Uma Thurman, was critically injured in a car crash on the set of Kill Bill due to negligence and pressure from Tarantino) as Flower Girl feels like commentary, but whether it’s an apology, a brag, or an expression of guilt never gets explored, mostly out of formal ineptitude and cowardice. When Margaret Qualley asks Brad Pitt to suck his dick and he responds asking her age, she muses, “Nobody has asked me that in so long.” This is a heartbreaking line, and coming after the camera has lingered on her feet for several minutes, could be read as confessional, a feeling of complicity on the part of Tarantino. But he demonstrates zero understanding for how this widespread pattern of trauma reverberates and replicates into the present day, compartmentalized into some vague historical evil. It is a useless evocation of real tragedy reduced to an allegorical complication. There are startling few hints at Manson’s white supremacy. The film’s defenders have used the Manson family’s racism as a way of justifying the climax, but this doesn’t take into account Hollywood’s own skiddishness in displaying it. Tarantino has never before shied away from tackling racism’s intersection with misogyny (see: his film directly before OUATIH, the heinous, nonsensical Hateful Eight), and the avoidance here doesn’t read as maturity. If it’s still positing the girls’ white supremacy as justification for Tarantino’s leering, condescending, misogynistic lens, that’s no less infantile, privileged, and stupid than his past work. Pitting two forms of oppression against one another in some kind of quantitative system of value judgement isn’t just lazy semiotics, it’s reactionary political theory.
All decorum falls aways by the time Dalton uses a flamethrower on a screeching, bloodied young girl in a scene that recalls New French Extremity’s sadistic obsession with desecrating women’s bodies as an antipathic aesthetic act. Rick gets the flamethrower from the set of a Nazi-killer flick, just as Tarantino gets the ending from Inglorious Basterds. But unlike his previous flirtations with historical revisionism, there are no films explicitly *about* the Manson Murders’ ripple effect off of which Tarantino can riff, so the ostensibly optimistic ending has no clear path forward. What future is he imagining, besides one where Polanski career is unsullied in some hypothetical alternative path where he’s never caught? The titular fantasy, where Rick Dalton and Tarantino finally get to be the stars of a world where history has been subsumed by cinema, is childish. That very same history carries countless women’s stories of suffering at the hands of men in power, and with a single gesture Hollywood offers not liberation, but total erasure. In its wake remains a film that, despite any political or nostalgic pretense, delights in the evisceration the bodies of women to protect a philosophical status quo.

Breaking down Film Budgets
Tumblr media
Ah, movies! The universal language, the grand escape, the culmination of countless creative minds. But behind the glitz and glamour lies a complex business, and a key element is the film budget. Unlike the price tag on a box of popcorn, film budgets can vary wildly, spanning millions or even hundreds of millions of dollars for Hollywood blockbusters, down to shoestring operations for independent cinematic gems. So, what makes a film budget tick?
The Big-Budget Breakdown:
Let's dissect a typical big-budget film. The lion's share often goes to above-the-line talent, including the film director, A-list film actors, and renowned screenwriters. Their proven track record and star power command hefty salaries. Below-the-line talent, encompassing the vast film crew responsible for everything from cinematography to sound design, also contributes significantly.
Film Production costs come next. Locations, set construction, costumes, props – these elements breathe life into the story but can quickly devour funds. Special effects (SFX) add another layer. From practical effects to the realm of computer-generated imagery (CGI), creating fantastical worlds comes at a premium.
Film Marketing and distribution are crucial for recouping the investment. Trailers, posters, and global film marketing campaigns generate buzz, while securing film distribution through film studios or independent film distributors ensures the film reaches audiences.
The Micro-Budget Marvels:
Now, let's shift gears and explore the world of micro-budget filmmaking. Here, filmmakers operate with limited resources, often in the tens or even thousands of dollars. Resourcefulness becomes paramount. Locations might be borrowed spaces, costumes thrifted finds, and special effects cleverly achieved through camera angles and practical filmmaking techniques.
Micro-budget films often rely heavily on the passion and dedication of the film crew. Film actors might work for deferred payment or even favours. But these constraints can breed innovation. Micro-budget films often prioritize film character development, strong film narratives, and unique storytelling, resulting in powerful and impactful works.
Financing the Dream: Where Does the Money Come From?
For independent filmmakers, securing funding is an ongoing battle. Traditional sources like studios are less likely to take chances on unproven talent or unconventional stories. Here's where creativity steps in:
Crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter or Indiegogo allow filmmakers to raise funds directly from the public. These campaigns often offer tiered rewards for different levels of contribution, fostering a sense of film community and buy-in from potential viewers.
Grants from government agencies or arts organizations can provide invaluable financial support. However, competition is fierce, and proposals need to be meticulously crafted, demonstrating artistic merit and a clear vision.
Film markets like Cannes or Sundance offer opportunities to connect with film distributors, sales agents, and potential investors. A strong sales pitch and a well-crafted presentation reel can be the key to securing funding for film post-production or film distribution.
Beyond the Budget: The Value of Festivals and Recognition
Film festivals play a crucial role in the independent film circuit. They provide a platform for showcasing micro-budget films to a wider film audience, including film critics, film distributors, and even potential financiers. Awards recognition at prestigious film festivals can be a game-changer, attracting further funding opportunities and propelling a film towards wider film distribution.
The Final Cut: Chasing Dreams with Open Eyes
Making a film is a labour of love, but it's also a business. Understanding film budgets empowers filmmakers to navigate the financial realities of their craft. Whether wielding a multi-million dollar budget or a shoestring one, resourcefulness, creativity, and a clear vision are essential ingredients for success. The independent spirit, fueled by passion and a determination to tell unique stories, continues to be a driving force in cinema, proving that powerful films can be born from even the most modest means. So, the next time you watch a film, take a moment to appreciate the intricate dance between art and commerce that brings those moving images to life. After all, the magic on screen is often the result of a carefully crafted – and sometimes surprisingly small – budget.

Minsan may Isang p*ta
A short story with full of metamorphic words, "Minsan may Isang p*ta" is written by Mike Portes. This story catches many people's attention. Since it became popular, a lot of schools use her work to be studied. Her piece was also included in the indie trology titled "Ganap na babae" according to "www.tumblr.com"
The movie was honored as Cinemalaya 2010's opening film and won the MIENT'S PICK: Excellence In Cinematography Award at the SoHo Film Festival in New York which recognizes the technical mastery of the movie.(source: Tumblr)
By first time reading the story, I thought it is just like a story full of curse words, but somehow it has a creative writing skills that make me continue to read on despite of the terms that is being used. The power of this piece is incredible, just how it makes my mind be shock in full 10 seconds. The twist on the last part is just amazing, the moment I read the last part and how it slowly sink in to my mind is unforgettable and that is the literary piece of the story for me.
Different people read the story and different interpretation was made. By reading it you can build up multiple question in your mind asking if there's a really good reason why the author wrote this story or what's the real meaning of the story. And I came across with these interpretation in my mind, first, when you read the title and see the word "puta", curiosity will definitely comes in your mind, this word means whore. Person's who sells their body or other people used their body for satisfaction and paying them for their service.
And while reading the story you will read a lot of connected words that will make you think that the story is all about a woman who became a whore for her children. While thinking about these, another idea comes into my mind, perhaps there's another meaning? Maybe there is a hidden messages that the author wants the reader to understand?
After you read the story, and the reality sinks in to your mind, read the story again and you will connect everything into pieces. It's not about a whore, it's about the Philippines who is used by other country.
It has the beauty that attracts many countries and many people but abuses also by them. In this line "sa tatlong beses akong nagahasa, ang pinakahuli ang di ko malilimutan" isn't this true? The Philippines was colonized by Spanish, japanese and Americans. And the Americans has the most impact in the Filipinos. Gifting us, changing everything that Spanish left, and they are the one who teach us English language.
Guiding us how to read and write.
Too good that we didn't even realize that they are slowly destroying us. Unconsciously attached by how they care for us. Took too long for the country to be able to be free. But we're too attached by their help and that's why we fall down and can't escape from poverty. And because of that, everytime we face hardship we call for their help, no choice cause we have nothing on our own. The economy of the country was too low, Filipino's don't have any choice but to study here but work for other country for them to be able to experience the life they wanted and dream of. Many left and never came back. The one who stayed betrays each other, using someone as their stepping stone. People get cruel, only care for themselves.
The author of the story uses a lot of metaphor. For what? Cause she cares to her fellow Filipino. To express, to show, to reveal what happened and what is happening in the Philippines. She uses the word "puta" to represent the Philippines. It's like the author listen to the main character of the story. Silently listening, letting it rants about what she's feeling, what she can't tell cause too afraid to speak up for her self. Anger, sadness, cruelty just jumbled up. Making it more heavy to breath and live on. The Philippines is a "puta", can't live by itself, beautiful but lack in knowledge how to preserve it, care but can't do anything about it. How poor our country is, abused by it's own power and authority.
If I were to judge, what's the level of action do I rate this. Writing a story for? Oh, for Filipinos, for awareness, for a challenge. Not everyone can fight, but one thing is for sure, we have our own little way, just like writing this kind of story, and became a powerful weapon, and that's what make us FILIPINO'S. Internally silently fighting for our country. Expressing how we do our unique way of protecting each other, and bravely showing how dedicated we are.

CAS - creativity - 'CrAL - Creative Audiovisual Lab'
In March 2023 I signed up to participate in 'CrAL - Creative Audiovisual Lab', a CTK Rijeka project. The projects goal is to encourage young individuals (aging 14-19 years) to participate in various interpretations and productions of audiovisual content. I signed up with three more students from Gimnazija Andrije Mohorovičića and together with our mentor Leonila Marač we stared with the project. Our mentor would present videos from the CrAL Platform YouTube channel, we would discuss different topics and get assignments to photograph certain subjects and present our photos or writing our own stories based on the photographs. The workshops lasted for about two months and we soon began the final and the most important task of the project; a three minute short film. This is where the work really began. The three of us had to make up an idea and really actualize it. At first we weren’t sure what to capture, we first thought about making a survey, walk around town with a camera and microphone and ask questions regarding a certain topic, then we though about making a skate clip, ideas were flying. After some time we agreed we wanted something very aesthetically pleasing. What we all had in common was love for cinematographic masterpieces. We wanted our short film to be impactful but also present us. After some time we agreed our film was going to be about our perspectives, the way we view the world around is. We wanted to show how beautiful life can be in all of its simplicity. We came up with an idea; we split three minutes by four and captured the scenes on our own until we finally meet up and edit it into a short film. The filming process was beautiful and extremely fun, however, finding my location was a little bit tricky. I had so many beautiful places in mind I couldn't choose where to go. I thought about piecing up a clip of all of my favorite spots but in the end I opted for my favorite, a place I come to when I need closure and peace, I set up the camera and played with settings, I would then take turns going and passing by the camera, then to check the video recorded, then re do it, and so on and so on until I finally felt like I got what I needed for my 45 seconds. In the end I edited it on an app my laptop has preinstalled, it was nothing grand but it did the job, I liked that part almost as much as the filming part. I like editing and filming. I've been doing it since I was a child. I find pleasure in holding a device which can capture moments. I used to edit photographs and video clips of me and my friends, spend hours watching cinematographic videos and movies, from murder mysteries to documentaries about our planet. I am a big movie lover. I found this project extremely inspiring and exciting since I plan on continuing my studies in the movie industry direction, cinematography to be exact. Our film was premiered at the CrAL awards ceremony in September 2023. Schools from Croatia who applied to this project were invited to Dječja Kuća Rijeka for an awards ceremony, all of us fit into a room and watched our movies, connected to the community, enjoyed ourselves, shared our art and stories. We did not win first place, but were very close, what mattered was that we created something that we liked, with mindfulness and creativity.

Known for his roles in popular television series such as "NYPD Blue," "ER," "NCIS," and "Desperate Housewives," Majors' career was marked by talent and promise. His passing at the age of 27 serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with substance misuse and the devastating consequences it can have.
Tumblr media
The Cause of Tragedy
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's office has officially determined that Austin Majors' cause of death was attributed to "fentanyl toxicity." This potent opioid, often associated with high-risk overdoses, was listed as the primary factor leading to his passing. The tragic incident occurred on February 11, and the medical examiner's report confirms that Majors died in his residence. The cause of death has been classified as an accident.
A Suspected Reality
The suspicion of fentanyl poisoning was initially raised by Kali Majors-Raglin, Austin Majors' sister. In a statement shared with The Times in February, she alluded to the likelihood of fentanyl's involvement in her brother's passing. The subsequent medical examiner's determination now confirms these suspicions, underscoring the urgency of addressing the opioid crisis.
The Devastating Context
Austin Majors' passing took place within the context of a broader opioid epidemic that continues to claim lives across the United States. His death at a homeless housing facility in Los Angeles further highlights the vulnerability of individuals struggling with housing instability and substance use disorders. The circumstances of his passing emphasize the need for comprehensive and compassionate solutions to address these interconnected issues.
A Life Remembered
Majors' career in the entertainment industry was characterized by notable achievements. He gained prominence for his portrayal of Theo Sipowicz, the son of Det. Andy Sipowicz, in the acclaimed series "NYPD Blue." His performance earned him recognition, including a Young Artist award in 2002. Throughout its 12 seasons, "NYPD Blue" received critical acclaim and garnered multiple Emmy Awards.
Dennis Franz, who played the role of Det. Andy Sipowicz, fondly remembered Majors as a joy to work with on the set. Franz expressed his condolences and shared that Majors' presence brought happiness to everyone around him. Despite the years that had passed since the show's conclusion, the impact of Majors' positive energy remained.
A Legacy of Creativity
Beyond his on-screen achievements, Austin Majors pursued his creative passions with dedication. He graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2017 with a degree in cinematography and film/video production. In subsequent years, he delved into photography, videography, and documentary work. His multidisciplinary approach showcased his diverse talents and the depth of his creative pursuits.
A Farewell to Promise
Austin Majors' passing is a reminder of the fragility of life and the profound impact of substance misuse. As friends, family, and fans mourn his loss, his legacy serves as a call to action to address the complex challenges of addiction and its consequences. The entertainment industry and beyond reflect on the potential that was cut short by a devastating overdose.

'He’s one of the best cinematographers in the business: Hoyte van Hoytema. He has been Christopher Nolan’s go-to guy since 2014’s Interstellar, but has also collaborated as a director of photography with David O. Russell (The Fighter), Spike Jonze (Her), Sam Mendes on a James Bond movie (Spectre) and Jordan Peele (Nope). And now that the fall film festival is underway, Van Hoytema will be receiving his “flowers” from industry specialists, collecting awards and recognitions for his previous work, as well as the current Nolan movie that’s still cleaning up at the box office: the magnificent Oppenheimer.
It has been announced that Hoyte Van Hoytema will be honored with Variety’s Creative Impact Award at the 26th annual SCAD Savannah Film Festival. This year’s SCAD Savannah Film Festival will run from Oct. 21 through Oct. 28, but the ceremony honoring Van Hoytema will be held on Sunday, October 22. The full festival line-up will be announced on Oct. 6, and now I’m genuinely curious if a screening of Oppenheimer might be part of this year’s programming.
Oppenheimer has been one of the most encouraging stories of the year with in regards to the push for bringing audiences back to movie theaters. Coupled with Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, the marketing sensation known collectively as “Barbenheimer” led to massive box office receipts, packed theaters, and reams of critical praise for both films – which likely will help both movies as they enter into the ongoing awards race that dominates the back half of every calendar year.
And that’s what makes the SCAD Savannah Film Festival such an important stop on the annual awards train. It’s prime placement in October makes it an ideal showcase festival between the Labor Day weekend trio of Telluride, Toronto, and Venice. And in years past, movies that have sparked some buzz at those festivals have turned up their heat by playing at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, which last year played host to Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin, Rian Johnson’s delightful sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the dark comedy The Menu, Sarah Polley’s Women Talking, and Darren Aronofsky’s The Whale, which eventually earned Brendan Fraser his Oscar.
Maybe that means that Hoyte Van Hoytema can collect his first Oscar for cinematography, after being nominated for Chris Nolan’s Dunkirk but losing out to Roger Deakins and his work on the incredible Blade Runner 2049. If you are going to lose to anyone, might as well lose to a legend…'

Barbie Review: An Exhilarating Pink Symphony
Tumblr media
Let's take a moment to celebrate Greta Gerwig. From the moment I first watched Lady Bird during its theatrical release, I knew she possessed a crucial and unique voice that would leave a lasting impact in the years to come – and I was absolutely right. Little Women, her next film, based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, has become one of my all-time favorite comfort movies. There's a certain magic in it that can cure any amount of sadness. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBk4NYhWNMM This is precisely why I couldn't contain my excitement when I heard she would be taking on the project of Barbie. With Gerwig's involvement, you can always be confident that her work won't be just another generic, uninspired movie. Her films may not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's no denying the undeniable uniqueness of her voice. With Barbie, she's demonstrating her power and style like never before. The Good: Greta Gerwig's Barbie is an outrageously funny and visually stunning journey that brings the iconic doll to life in ways we could never have imagined. Bursting with vibrant colors and humor, this film is an absolute joy to watch. Set in the enchanting world of Barbie Land, the story follows Barbie and Ken as they venture into the real world, leading to a hilarious and heartwarming exploration of the human experience. The film's humor is its undeniable highlight. From start to finish, there isn't a single scene without something to laugh at. Gerwig's clever writing and the actors' impeccable comedic timing make Barbie the funniest movie in recent memory. The audience is treated to moments of pure hilarity, and the infectious laughter that echoes through the theater is a testament to its brilliance. But it's not just the humor that captivates audiences; the production design is equally impressive. Barbie Land is a visual feast, a kaleidoscope of colors dominated by the iconic pink hue. The attention to detail and creativity in creating this fantastical world is commendable. So much so that it reportedly caused a shortage of pink paint in the real world, adding a layer of humor to the film's influence on the physical world. The heart of the film lies in Margot Robbie's phenomenal performance as Barbie. Known for her versatility, Robbie embodies the beloved doll with charm, wit, and an endearing vulnerability. She effortlessly switches between comedic brilliance and heartrending moments, creating a multi-dimensional character that resonates deeply with the audience. This may well be Robbie's finest performance to date, cementing her as one of the most talented actresses of her generation. Alongside Robbie, America Ferrera shines in a supporting role as Gloria, a Mattel employee thrust into the whirlwind of the real world with Barbie. Ferrera's portrayal is warm and genuine, and her chemistry with young talent Ariana Greenblatt, who plays her daughter, Sasha, adds a touching layer to the film's emotional core.   Ryan Gosling's casting as Ken is a stroke of genius. His undeniable charisma and energy bring Ken to life in a way that no other actor could have achieved. Gosling's chemistry with Robbie is palpable, and their performances elevate the film to new heights. Both actors deliver unforgettable performances and deserve serious consideration for awards recognition. Rodrigo Prieto's cinematography is a sight to behold. Every frame is meticulously crafted, showcasing the colorful and fantastical world of Barbie Land with awe-inspiring beauty. The film's visual splendor enhances the storytelling, making it one of the most visually striking films of the year. Beyond its entertainment value, Barbie is an incredibly important film. Gerwig's direction, coupled with the superb performances, makes audiences fall in love with cinema all over again. It reminds us of the power of storytelling and its ability to transport us to magical worlds while also reflecting on our own reality. The Bad: If I'm going to be completely honest with you all, there was not a single element of Barbie that I didn't fall in love with. Perhaps you should stay away from this one if you're not a big fan of goofy comedies or if you're not a big fan of any of the actors or something along those lines. It's also definitely not a movie that you should take your kids to see, even though this is a Barbie movie. Trust me, it goes to some seriously deep places that took me by complete surprise. There are also some adult jokes in the film as well, so be warned. Overall: Barbie, directed by Greta Gerwig, is an absolute triumph. With its side-splitting humor, jaw-dropping production design, and outstanding performances, it captivates audiences and leaves them with a renewed appreciation for the art of filmmaking. Margot Robbie's portrayal of Barbie is a tour de force, supported by an excellent ensemble cast led by Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera. The film's visual splendor, courtesy of Rodrigo Prieto's cinematography, further adds to its brilliance. Barbie is an experience that brings joy, laughter, and warmth, making it a must-see film that leaves a lasting impression on its audience. Read the full article

Five technological developments that will affect the movie business
To create the final reel of a 3D animation, a number of skills are needed. A 3D modeller, 3D rigging artist, texturing artist, layout artist, 3D animator, renderer artist, and maybe a compositor are all needed for the project. Grab an opportunity to learn from the best 3D animation courses in Pune.
The future of film may be very different from the clunky camera gear and sound stages we are accustomed to thanks to the internet, computers, and shrinking of technology.
 Filmmaking Tools for Smartphones
By enabling everyone to produce their own independent films without a lot of expense or technical skills, the ability to record and upload video using a phone has already had a profound impact on the film industry. The ability for phone users to have the same high-production value feeling that is typically only possible with pricey camera equipment may now further democratize filmmaking. If it's difficult to picture a full-length movie being shot entirely on a phone, don't worry—it already occurs. Take a look at Tangerine, a Sundance success.
A digital recreation
Look no farther than Oliver Reed in Gladiator or Tupac Shakur's Coachella 2012 performance to see examples of how creative editing and thoughtful technology application have been employed in post-mortem performances before. However, there have been significant advancements in the ability to digitally recreate faces, bodies, and even conversation. With the advancement of digital effects, almost anyone may now be reproduced in astonishing lifelike detail. Despite being a significant technological development for stage and cinema performances, this capability does bring certain moral and ethical conundrums. Not all actors are happy with making post-mortem appearances, extras are worried that being able to construct people digitally will cause them to lose job to less expensive digital puppets, and we could no longer be able to trust the veracity of video evidence.
 Online Reality
Virtual reality is predicted to be the next big thing in movies, even though current 3D technology enables a more immersive and thrilling viewing experience. It's now possible to produce a polished product that makes use of full 360° recording and enables us to watch movies the same way we experience the natural world thanks to new initiatives like Two Eyes VR. Like any new development, VR may find universal popularity, but there are drawbacks as well. Not all viewers can endure a virtual reality setting for the duration of an average feature film, so more traditional cameras may not be extinct just soon.
 Drones
Award-winning cinematography might soon be made possible by an algorithm. Already, drones are fairly good at getting shots that would be challenging or perhaps impossible for a conventional cameraman to acquire. Imagine a drone with the mobility of a mobile phone and an algorithm that enables it to autonomously avoid obstacles and use various recording methods. Drones will not only be able to capture images in places where traditional cameras can't, but they will also be able to maintain the framing of aerial photographs with little assistance from the ground.
 Using algorithms to edit videos
One of the most time-consuming, if crucial, steps in creating a polished, final film is digital editing. MIT researchers are currently working on methods to help automate and streamline the procedure. In just the last few years, facial recognition technology has advanced significantly, but in the near future, computers might be able to follow scripts, automatically categorize every footage, and use jump cuts and other editing techniques to boost the mood of a scene. While no one wants to spend more time and effort on video editing, it does bring up some intriguing considerations regarding the idea of art in filmmaking, such as whether a film can still be made artistically if machines are programmed to handle the technical aspects.
Filmmakers have been able to bring their creations to life in ways that their forefathers could only dream of because to past innovations like green screens, animation, and camera stabilization. Nowadays, technological developments are mostly focused on speeding the editing process and expanding the accessibility of filmmaking equipment. To produce a polished completed product, aspiring filmmakers won't need access to a studio or expensive equipment worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, nor will they need to spend hours on laborious editing.
