Slovo Bush v nás může vyvolávat velmi ambivalentní pocity, ale pro junglisty u nás je to v první řadě svátek. Březnový večírek do Roxy zavál jednu opravdovou legendu, pro některé fanoušky dokonce jednu z nejžádanějších. Zinc je mezi junglovými producenty skutečný pojem - ať už sólo nebo coby jedna třetina formace Ganja Kru, případně reprezentant známého labelu True Playaz. Navíc jeho jméno platí jako spolehlivý kredit i na breakbeat-garage scéně. Po celých šesti letech se uvolil k interview a my si skutečně považujeme za čest, že právě pro Paskvil.

Doslechli jsme se, že neposkytuješ rozhovory dvakrát rád. Proč? Nemáš v lásce média a novináře?

Mám pár špatných zkušeností a taky obvykle nemám moc co říct.

Jaké to bylo v začátcích? Jsi na scéně už pěkně dlouho... Jak ses dostal k hudbě?

V roce 1989 jsem začal kupovat desky, v devadesátém prvním jsem se dostal do pirátského rádia a o rok později už jsem skládal hudbu a začal i víc hrát po klubech. To pokračovalo až do poloviny minulé dekády. Můj první ryze vlastní track „Super Sharp Shooter“ byl docela úspěšný, vyšel i s remixem a vlastně díky němu jsem mohl odejít z práce, věnovat se naplno muzice a djingu a tak se to má až dodnes.

Co jsi vlastně tehdy dělal?

Bylo to několik zaměstnání... v kanclu, pracoval jsem pro investiční společnost. Prostě nesmysl.

Zpočátku jsi spolupracoval se Swiftem, ale pak to skončilo...

Dělal jsem s chlapíkem jménem Swift, ale to nebyl ten známý DJ. Mimochodem tuším, že existují celkem tři Swiftové. Drum´n´bass ho ale omrzel a vrhnul se na garage. To bylo v roce 1995 a já dál pokračoval sám.

Vzpomínáš na své první setkání s Pascalem a Hypem?

Hypea jsem už delší dobu vídal v klubech, tak u něj nevím - zato si pamatuju seznámení s Pascalem. Potřeboval jsem smíchat jednu věc, přišel jsem k němu domů a on za celou dobu promluvil snad tři slova ... jo, fajn, v poho ... není zrovna ukecanej.

Už dlouho jsme nenarazili na nic nového od Ganja Kru. Ja tahle vaše parta ještě funkční?

Naposledy jsme spolu na něčem pracovali v devadesátém devátém. Nevím, na mě to moc nestojí... o tom spíš rozhoduje Hype.

Kdo vlastně šéfuje vydavatelství True Playaz? Hype?

Ne, majiteli jsme všichni tři – já, Hype a Pascal a společně se i podílíme na chodu vydavatelství. Ačkoliv Pascal asi nejvíc - stará se o webové stránky a formální fungování.

Pascal si založil značku Frontline Records. Tebe samotného neláká vlastní label?

Ale já mám svůj vlastní label. Založil jsem ho v roce 2000 a jmenuje se Bingo.

Kterou ze svých skladeb považuješ za nejdůležitější a která je tvá nejoblíbenější?

Za nejzásadnější považuju „Super Sharp Shooter“. A tehdy jsem remixoval pro Fugees „Ready Or Not“, což byla taky celkem populární deska. Takže asi tyhle dvě skladby pro mě byly nejdůležitější. A vlastně ještě „138 Trek“ z roku 1999 nebo 2000, což byla věc ve stylu breakbeat garage, která mi otevřela nejedny dveře. A pokud jde o oblíbenou skladbu, tak mě žádná nenapadá.

Jak to vlastně bylo s tím bootlegem „Ready Or Not“ od Fugees? Spousta lidí byla přesvědčena, že to byla Hypeova práce, jiní zase tvrdili, že to je Zincův remix. Kdo má pravdu?

Autorem jsem já, ale měl jsem trochu problém s basovou linkou a Hype mi poradil. Deska vyšla bez kreditů na středovce, takže proto asi lidi soudili, že to dělal Hype.

A myslíš, že Fugees ten remix slyšeli?

Jo slyšeli. Lidem z jejich nahrávací společnosti se to líbilo a chtěli to vydat. Ale kapela z toho nějak nejásala, tak z toho sešlo.

Můžou technologie typu mixovacích CD a final scratche vytlačit vinyl?

Nevím. Já osobně hraju z vinylů, z acetátů. Hlavním důvodem je to, že když se mi sejdou cédéčka od různých producentů, tak každé je jinak smíchané a hraje odlišně, jedno má víc výšek, druhé míň... Takže je posílám do masterovacího studia – většinou Masterpiece, Metropolis nebo Exchange, kde nahrávky zmastrují, srovnají a přenesou na acetát. U CD se často stává, že jedno hraje daleko víc nahlas než to další, zatímco vinyly a acetáty znějí vcelku srovnatelně. Ale jestli ostatní přejdou z vinylů na jinou techniku, tak se asi přizpůsobím.

Rozhovor napověděl, že „super ostrý střelec“ je spíš introvertního založení a k id zdravici svolil jen s viditelným sebezapřením. Dozvěděli jsme se také, že letos vyjde jeho první skutečně dlouhohrající deska, kde najdeme jen dvě junglovky a že preferuje plynulejší sety před častými rewindy, což vzápětí prokázal. Ten, kdo očekával něco ze „staré školy“ byl asi zklamán – Zinc v Praze „sypal“ vesměs hutné, čerstvé kousky. Na tradičně skvělé atmosféře se podepsali také naši jezdci – „navrátilec“ Ghonzales, který si s Elen na úvod vystřihl „obíhačku“ i ostravský Inspiral X62, který v roli zakončovače ani nemusel tlačit na pilu, jelikož ta jeho měla motor. Nesmíme ale zapomenout ani na vizuální stránku – spojení mistrů světel z HPNVSN a projekcí od Phase je jednoduše bezkonkurenční. Nebojme se superlativ - Bush je bezesporu jedna z nejlepších klubových nocí u nás. A to nás čeká další drum´n´bassová vrcholná kvalita: v dubnu Marcus Intalex a v květnu Doc Scott!

SpaceTime -- A brief history

SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States.  The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science.  SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research.  The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network.  Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor.  Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. Later, Gary became part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and was one of its first presenters. do any of your Oc’s like spicy foods (or the cybertronian equivalent)? If so, how much can they manage, and are any of them a bit over their heads when it comes to spice and their tolerance?

I like to imagine that Copper and Zinc are spicy to cybertronians. Spice level just depends on how concentrated it is.

That being said, Dusk can handle her spice decently. Her vents will sputter when she eats something too spicy and her engines will cycle to try and get it digested and out of her system but she's alright.

The muppies all like zinc and copper except for Thunderclap. They can't handle it and they don't understand why others ingest it. Fuel shouldn't be painful to consume. Speed Demon, DJ and Zephyrclaw will eat it in it's raw form for fun. Zephyr has convinced Steeljaw to hole punch chips out of zinc sheet metal for her. Roadie likes spice but it makes his intake manifold burn so he tries to avoid it, or washes it down with mineral oil.

Work-it can't tolerate it at all but she likes a nice shave of copper in her martini now and then.
