L'incantaborgo il festival delle arti di strada a Sinalunga. L'Incantaborgo, il festival delle arti di strada torna nel centro storico di Sinalunga (Si) dal 14 al 16 luglio con tanti artisti, spettacoli e una novità: la partecipazione di performer di Ay Champagne e Dorking, i paesi gemellati con Sinalunga. Moltissimi gli spettacoli da quelli acrobatici al teatro di strada, dagli spettacoli di fuoco e di luci, fino ad arrivare agli spettacoli di illusionismo fino agli acrobati sui trampoli. La sesta edizione del festival, organizzato dal Comune di Sinalunga con il patrocinio della Regione Toscana, Provincia di Siena, Anci Toscana, Comunità di Pratica Toscana per l'Arte di Strada, è stata presentata a palazzo del Pegaso questa mattina, martedì 11 luglio. "Ritorna Incantaborgo, una delle iniziative più belle che noi raccontiamo ai cittadini della Toscana è un modo per ricreare socialità, incontro e raccontare arti differenti e quanta bellezza c'è a Sinalunga" ha detto il presidente del Consiglio regionale Antonio Mazzeo. "In questi giorni il centro storico si trasforma in un festival di artisti di strada con musica e divertimento. Ci sono il patrocinio e il contributo del Consiglio regionale, sempre attento a questo tipo di realtà anche per sviluppare il turismo" ha aggiunto la consigliera regionale Elena Rosignoli. L'edizione 2023 sarà caratterizzata anche dal coinvolgimento di artisti provenienti dalle città gemellate di Ay Champagne (Francia) con il duo musicale "Monsieur et Madame J.", e Dorking (Regno Unito) con il quintetto di ottoni "Martineau Brass", "per una grande festa che ha lo scopo di rinsaldare sempre di più la collaborazione e l'amicizia che unisce le comunità per continuare a sviluppare progetti socio-culturali ed economici con i due paesi" come ha spiegato il sindaco Edo Zacchei. "Questo gemellaggio serve anche per diffondere la cultura anche grazie al lavoro delle associazioni del territorio che si occupano degli stand gastronomici e delle visite guidate" ha sottolineato l'assessore alla Cultura Gianni Bagnoli. L'incanto del Festival sarà poi impreziosito dalle performance di danza, ginnastica ritmica, mostre fotografiche, tra cui "Photo Exhibition of Dorking and Surrey" del "Dorking Camera Club". Tra i vari eventi collaterali ci saranno il mercato artistico artigianale, i giochi di strada di "Caimercati" e lo street food. Sabato e domenica saranno aperte al pubblico le Chiese (Madonna delle Nevi, Collegiata di San Martino, Chiesa di Santa Croce), la sede storica della Misericordia, Le Stanze Etrusche di Larth, il Teatro Comunale Ciro Pinsuti. Sempre nelle stesse giornate a partire dalle 21 sarà possibile visitare i cunicoli della Fonte del Castagno con il Gruppo Archeologico sinalunghese. Tra gli appuntamenti, il 14 alle 21 il concerto "Perché San Remo è San Remo" - "Un bacio a Mezzanotte"; il 15 alle 18 "Grem" - esibizione musicale di fronte Chiesa di Santa Croce e a seguire"La Masquerada" di Bettolle, marching band lungo le vie del centro storico di Sinalunga e "Il sogno. Bubble show" di Eros Goni con le bolle di sapone e "Monsieur et Madame J." intervalli di canzoni buffe, divertenti, giochi di parole e false rime - spettacolo del paese gemellato di Aÿ-Champagne, Piazza IV Novembre e Martineau Brass", intervalli musicali del quintetto di ottoni del paese gemellato di Dorking (UK), Piazza Biancalana e "Grem" intervalli musicali, fronte Chiesa di Santa Croce. Il 16 la Folkloristica Band Bettolle in "Quando la banda diventa spettacolo: tra le vie e le piazze del centro storico musica, majorettes & colorguards", alle 18 "Dans mes Cordes" Elisa Alcalde, spettacolo di danza aerea, il "Trio Montes"- esibizione di musica pop internazionale di fronte Chiesa di Santa Croce e "Martineau Brass"- intervalli musicali del quintetto di ottoni del paese gemellato di Dorking (UK) in Piazza Biancalana. Andreessen Horowitz is in talks to invest in virtual reality startup Sandbox VR

Sandbox VR, a virtual reality entertainment startup, is raising a new round of funding, Business Insider has learned.

Andreessen Horowitz is in talks to invest in the startup, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

The firm's general partner Andrew Chen may be spearheading the round.

Sandbox VR, a Hong Kong-based virtual reality startup that licenses its technology to IMAX movie theaters, is raising a significant new round of funding, Business Insider has learned.

Andreessen Horowitz is in talks to invest in the round, according to two sources familiar with the matter. One of the firm's general partners, Andrew Chen, may be spearheading the investment, according to one person familiar with the talks.

Andreessen Horowitz and Sandbox VR did not respond to requests for comment on the matter.

Sandbox VR, which was previously operating under the name Glo Games, has previously raised $3 million in seed funding from investors including ChinaRock Capital Management, Presence Capital Fund, Mindworks Ventures, and Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, according to Pitchbook data.

The specific amount being raised in this most recent funding round and what it values the startup at could not be learned. But given that the company’s only known previous fundraising was a modest $3 million seed round, Sandbox VR is likely looking for a hefty cash infusion as it seeks to support its partnership with IMAX and to expand its business in a competitive sector.

The Void, another VR entertainment company, debuted a Star Wars VR experience at Disneyland in March.

Headquartered in Hong Kong and led by CEO Steven Zhao, the startup currently offers virtual reality experiences in San Francisco, San Mateo, Los Angeles, and New York, and outside the US in Singapore and Thailand.

The startup currently licenses its technology to IMAX, which offers Sandbox VR experiences in some of its theaters. A 30-minute session costs between $32 and $38, depending on the time of day.

The game experiences take place in specially designed rooms created by attaching four green screen walls to a green screen floor. Customers wear a virtual reality headset connected to a PC that is worn on the players back along with sensors on the feet and arms, an elaborate system that allows multiple people to play through the experiences in the same physical and virtual space. Plastic guns with motion tracking sensors attached are used to shoot virtual waves of enemies. Some experiences even include wall-mounted fans that can simulate wind and motion.

The green screen walls and floor allow the startup to capture video of the players' experiences that can then be merged together so people can see their physical bodies overlaid onto the virtual world they viewed through their VR headsets.

Last week, Sandbox VR's chief product officer, Siqi Chen, tweeted a photo of himself playing one of the company's virtual reality games with Andreessen Horowitz's Andrew Chen and MixPanel founder Suhail Doshi.

Sandbox VR has generated lots of interest in Silicon Valley in recent weeks. SVB vice president Dan Hardman, SVB managing director Josh Dorsey, Shasta Partner Jacob Mullins, and Coatue managing partner Matthew Mazzeo have all tweeted about their experiences visiting Sandbox VR this month.
