Reports from WHO makes it clear that the past 20 years have seen the worst hunger crisis, globally. If the situation wasn't already unpleasant, COVID-19 has pushed little children to the edge of starvation. Triple C's or the Triple threat which has added to the mire of hunger, namely, Climate, Conflict and Covid have caused millions to starve every day. Here are some stats: 🍓Overall, 5.6 million children under age five died in 2016, 🥗nearly 15,000 daily, approximately 3.1 million children die from undernutrition each year, 🥦about 155 million children under five years old were chronically undernourished globally, 🥝children who are poorly nourished suffer up to 160 days of illness each year and 🥕66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world state WHO and UNICEF reports. Inactivity at this juncture is a vice we cannot afford to commit. It's essential that we contribute and donate to organisations working for the cause or help at personal, more micro-levels if possible.
