It's actually kind of hilarious that Belos didn't really seem to take witch kids into account with regards to his big bad super evil genocide master plan.
If he were smart, he would've made it law for sigils to be applied upon reaching school-age [Which could be anywhere from ages four to seven, depending on which country that you live in], if not at birth if such a law were politically palatable to the denizens of The Demon Realm.
Waiting until adulthood to apply the killswitch that you intend to use to, well, kill off the entirety of a different species, is just... weird. lol lol lol
It's like it genuinely didn't occur to him that children, due to their sigil-less status, would survive the DoU until, like, literally the week before it was due to go down. I wonder if the Collector had to point it out to him to finally get him to notice!? lmao
Even then, his way of "solving" the "problem" feels half-assed! And I'm not talking about how Gus ruined Adrian's sigil-applying mission to Hexside either! (Since the cover story for that was actually decent lol.)
No, I'm talking about how it never could've been guaranteed that every last child on the Isles would be at school that day. lmao
Some kids were going to be out regardless. Because they're sick or some family emergency came up or because they just didn't want to go to school that day. lol
Basically, Belos apparently had a child-sized blind spot when it came to the DoU, and it surprises me that more people don't seem to realize it.
Belos pretty consistently patronizes/underestimates Luz and the rest of the Hexsquad up until he gets stuck in the human realm with them. We also see how he thinks he can just manipulate the Collector into liking him again after he dropped them off a cliff. I think it's pretty safe to say that Belos has a pretty low opinion of children in regards to their threat level/general intelligence. He probably did just completely overlook the possibility that [gasp] children grow up and reproduce!
I don't think he's super in-touch with the day-to-day of his citizens, either. Willow and Gus' parents say they'll homeschool them; clearly there's a chance some students are homeschooled. But Belos doesn't deal with those kind of logistics. As far as he's concerned, all the kids go to school, and they'll all be there, all the time. He's hundreds of years old, and his "sick days" are the result of the rot eating his body! He's COMPLETELY out of touch with the tiny details. he did this much work; surely, his minions can take care of what's left. That's what he made the coven heads and the guards, for, isn't it? Delegating tasks? They'll take care of it.

Hotel Field Trip Drabble
Thoughts based on this post [Link] about Charlie and Alastor taking a field trip to a human hotel for "business experience" lol

Charlie looks almost like herself with slightly less pale like death vibe, but she looks like herself.
No one is prepared for how Alastor looks as a human. Like, stunned silence silence in the hotel lobby when he joins Charlie. He is a gorgeous biracial man with oval glasses, perfectly swooshed dark hair, and a smile that is charming when it doesn't stretch demonically across his face. Tall and lean and impeccably dressed.
Alastor is not prepared for how people see him as a human.
He was a half-creole man in the Jim Crow era south. The same people who loved his radio show were probably vile to him in person. (h/c that this is why he hates being photographed and says this face is made for radio) But a hundred years later culture has shifted and he's suddenly not only acceptable but desirable.

Mdzs reincarnation Au
Has anyone else noticed that almost of the Mdzs au involving reincarnate are based in modern society. And most of the time none cultivation or magic based worlds as well?
Anyway I had this idea for one that happens post cannon. Based on the idea that Lan Wangji does end up out living Wei Wuxian again, and not because of anything dramatic, it's just old age. Since the body he received had a very weak golden core. The idea is that Lan Wangji doesn't want to take the chance at never seeing his beloved again, especially since he did already get a second chance with him, so he uses this old semi forgotten/ forbidden Lan sect spell that will insure he lives in the same world and Lifetime as Wei Wuxian. The cost of course is his current life. From there Lan Wangji basically get isekai (did I spell that right? ) into the usual fantasy world, and we get elf prince Lan Wangji. Because of the spell he is born with all his memories, and being the type of world it is it's not all that unheard of, it's even considered something of a blessing to have a reborn child. The problem is I'm mean, and Lan Wangji actually ends up reincarnated over a century and a half before Wei Wuxian (think LOTR elves who are basically immortal and take a hundred years to reach adulthood.) As for Wei Wuxian he actually reincarnates as a Dungeon Master also known as a Demon Lord (think like Maou Ni Natta Node, Dungeon Tsukutte Jingai Musume To Honobono Suru), and only sort of remembers his past life, things like skills and emotions. The spell does at least give Lan Wangji a way of knowing when Wei Wuxian is reborn, so as soon as he is Lan Wangji set out looking for him expecting to have to wait for his beloved to grow up. Instead he gets a full grown semi feral Demon who just popped into existence and is made entirely from magic (so also unaging) and looks like a mix between his first and second bodies, plus fangs, and wings (but only when he wants them). Oh and Wei Wuxian totally ends up summoning some of the others who died to be his dungeon minons, not that he really remembers who they are though, some would remember and some wouldn't.
Some ideas I had for the Dungeon members; if Wen Ning got pulled along I don't see him changing much, Wen Qing I can see as some sort of fire ghost (I'm not sure if she would remember any more than Wei Wuxian), Nie Mingju would be a headless zombie (he has his head but tends to lose it). They don't necessarily have to be undead its just the first thought that comes to mind. For example I could see Meng Yao being some sort of snake or lower Demon. And Jiang Yanli being a nature spirit, a lotus fairy or something. And how much or how little they remember would differ from one to another. Of course the peacock is a peacock no matter what.

#ohranger lb#super sentai lb#umbrella.thoughts#umbrella.posts#that's a wrap everybody!!#so have some screencaps i took throughout watching#i think it was nice but not the best#i think that once the blocker robos were introduced we lost sight#like a ton of things would randomly happen like in the end there's no build up to bara micron the empire just has the ability to make this#machine and then they can also make demon dimensions???#even earlier on the emperor landed on another planet and survived but only his head but he had a whole lab???#riki never really becomes more than a guardian of dorin and i think they could have done a lot with lore when riki and dorin were introduce#but instead they kinda just pop in from time to time and dorin just can summon the crystal and save the ohrangers#machines don't sleep and then the baby needs to take a nap???#the emperor was the only one that survived all those years ago but other machines are recognized from the same time???#i didn't mind the tone change but i think they could have made it less dark without sacrificing the story#there was just a lot that didn't need to be there or stuff that took too much time#there was so many robots and half of them are rushed into the story like they were made bc miura knew they'd need them but how???#i would have liked to know more about the characters too#i think we had really interesting development in the beginning but eventually we were trying so hard to raise the stakes that the ohrangers#became standard characters where i think they could've been iconic#i don't mind not knowing everything but seeing little bits of bonding between the members isn't enough for me to love the team completely#this is getting really long so in short it think it was a strong start but fumbled after the blocker robos were introduced the show had#potential and quite a few really good episodes with interesting themes#so yeah i thought it was fun and i like the team but overall it's not too high on the list

okay so i was talking with my boyfriend about this post i made and we ended up talking a lot about the different character’s routes and their interpretations and he said some really interesting stuff so im gonna summarize it for YOU dear pathologic fan because its neat
the first game feels like. okay so yknow how in some shows there’ll be a Bit where an Event happens but we dont see the Event, we just see the characters involved talking about the Event, and we get each of the characters perspectives on the Event but each are wildly different and wildly wrong in their own ways? thats the first game. discounting each of the different endings, each of the healers is remembering what happened in the town from their own perspectives and with their own biases coloring their views of events
so Daniil, of course, mostly recalls that he had to Do Everything Himself. he was all alone, artemy and clara were off doing whatever but HE was doing the hard stuff HE was getting beaten up by the kin HE was getting almost killed by soldiers. Artemy was. i dunno. making some potions or whatever. Clara was just being spooky. who cares HE WAS DOING THE HARD STUFF
Artemy, on the other hand, does truly try to see the best in everyone, and so when Daniil helps him, he remembers that, and remembers Daniil in a positive light. thats why Daniil is so prevalent in his route. Clara was, again, just kind of being spooky, and only really helped him near the end, but Artemy’s route is, arguably, the one where the three of them have the best relationships
and then Clara. Clara is so set in her way of thinking, however she developed it, that upon receiving her premonitions of Daniil razing the town and Artemy spilling blood through the streets, immediately set them both in the “dangerous and destructive” section of her mind and then never took them out. she took her first impressions of them and let everything that happened afterwards filter through those impressions, but ultimately she was so entrenched in her own responsibilities and attempts to fix things that she also relegated them to background noise. this is why they are just trying to kill each other the second half of the game (i know it was game design and her route was just really rushed and unfinished bear with me here). her view of the two of them are as demonic destroyers who she eventually helped set up as running around each other so they wouldnt bother her.
they are all unreliable narrators because no singular event is subjective in past tense. everything we remember as humans is colored by our biases and experiences. no event is truly singular. and perhaps the events truly are different, perhaps theres an element of multiverse theory in the game, but at the same time is it so hard to believe that they all just remember things differently?

man of course im gonna end up remembering my scrapped fantasy hlvrai ask blog idea i had back in 2020 right as im trying to sleep
i literally had a whole vague story and i believe drew almost every ref and had a few characters expressions done but it was so much work lmao. i am still pretty proud of it all even though it never went live. maybe i could make it a thing still but in writing only form shrug
i rly did have a few hlvrai au ideas that never came to light more than as ideas with some info attached. shout out as well to my hallmark movie au between gordon and benry 💀
