Okay now that I'm able to remember who this ask was directed towards: My sister and I got together on Friday and watched Silence in the Library/The Forest of the Dead. I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed the show! Donna's parts stood out to me much more this time, too.

Do you have any Doctor Who episodes you reccomend going back to re-watch??

All of season 1 with the 9th Doctor. 9th Doctor Best Doctor. His whole season is worth a rewatch since he only got those episodes and he just absolutely killed it in the role. But of his episodes I think "Boom Town" is my favorite, since that's the one where the Nine/Rose/Jack dynamic was at its peak. It also had some really stellar character moments for Eccleston's Doctor when he was at dinner with Margaret, and she tries to tell him how she let this reporter girl go without killing her, and he's like, "well that's how killers justify it" and she's like "only a killer would know that." Just fantastic all around, an all-time excellent episode.

tawnypelt honor title pleeeease she deserves it tigerstars daughter with the burden of a million expectations on her but who who has always adamantly gone her own way. maybe tawnysun or tawnydusk. also, whats her relationship with mothwing like? in the books their heritage as tigerkin was super neglected (misogyny) but it ended up creating two very indepentent characters who defined themselves outside of their fathers, unluke hawk and bramble who never could

I wish I could justify a four-tiger pileup at the Snare Scene, but it would change the events waaay too much to stay in the spirit of BB. Like, have it somehow be Tawnypelt who was targeted for ultimately rejecting her father so she's in the trap, somehow this would give Brambleclaw power or expose him so he hesitates, Mothwing jumps in to save Tawnypelt, Hawk and Bramble fight, and then Hawkfrost impales himself on the stake Mothwing is holding.

Especially since BB!TNP is now from the perspective of the Tigerkin-only. It would be really cool for it to be the ultimate confrontation between the four tiger cubs.

But, it is what it is.

I wish there was more space to explore a Tawnypelt/Mothwing dynamic, but I think there's a reason beyond just misogyny tbf (tho it is also present). When you have two half-siblings who reject their shared dad, what really connects you?

Nothing. I've seen it irl too. People don't like to hear this, but family IS a choice. The associations and expectations put on you because of your family aren't, and WHO you are born TO isn't a choice. But whenever your family comes to support you, every instance where you stand with them through hardship, the monumental task of being there for each other, time after time, IS A CHOICE.

It always has been.

When Brambleclaw learned that Hawkfrost was only connected to him through his bloodline, even after (canonically) being told Hawk never faced the same discrimination he did, he was CHOOSING to act as his brother. He was CHOOSING to accept that Tigerstar is something to unite over.

Tawnypelt and Mothwing don't. Nothing makes them sisters besides a man that one of them never even met.

Now dgmw. I don't think the Erins believe this, they're obsessed with magical, innate blood emotions. I think they didn't explore Tawny and Moth because they care less about girls, bottom line.

But I think this is why it wouldn't really make sense if they tried. And it's something I'd say on purpose if I had the chance.

to a certain degree, i understand people justifying izzy's death through saying it's narratively cohesive or it makes sense thematically. cause like from the way they set up his arc i could def see a conclusion in which he dies and it is narratively satisfying (don't get me wrong id still be heartbroken, but it COULD work thematically) but only if it was given the proper amount of TIME. a SIGNIFICANT amount of time. like that shit shouldve been saved for the s3 finale.

there are good thematic foundations in the beginning of s3. lots of foreshadowing and initial new character arcs that were intriguing. but people are picking up on those foundations and justifying the later actions of the show based on the themes that were set up initially. but the problem is that the show skipped right to the payoff of those foundations. and when you cut out the middle man, you lose the entire story. all you're left with is those initial themes and then a cut straight to the conclusion.

especially in the case of izzy, this leaves a LOT of bad implications since his arc was so sensitive and required so much more care than it was given. and like im not just focusing on him cause i like his tits (i do like his tits tho dgmw). a story arc so sensitive about a character becoming disabled as he struggles with abuse, alcoholism, and suicide cannot be rushed like that. the other arcs were disappointing, but this one honestly felt harmful. and thats such a shame.

imo it's a problem of too many good ideas and too little time to execute them, as so many shows being released recently are. and thats especially common in ensemble heavy tv like OFMD. i can see what they were trying to do, and of course i want all the characters to be developed and have their own stories. but when you're making an ensemble story, you have to go into it knowing that there are certain areas you just won't be able to cover because of time. that isn't to say you can't have an ensemble show that develops everyone well and thoroughly, but you should also be cognizant of whether the stories you want to tell REALLY NEED the extra time you might not have. and thats where s2 failed i think :(

i still love OFMD, and frankly, i didn't hate season 2. there were a lot of aspects and new characters that were very strong (zheng in particualr is ICONIC and might be my new favorite character). i commend the writers and actors for the work they did in creating it, especially under the conditions that eventually led to the strike. and frankly, if the first and only people you blame for an unsuccessful season of a show are the writers, you probably have a very skewed idea of how TV is created and released. but like its okay to critique the things u love while acknowledging that

Last Movie/Show: I've been watching Dimension 20's Fantasy High and I'm 4-ish episodes into The Seven, which is also in that universe. Cannot recommend it enough! (Also, Persephone Valentine is in it so there's another reason for any girl likers to check it out)

Sweet/Savory/Spicy: oh boy so I've got a ton of sensory stuff that makes food Complicated for me, but if we except all the stuff I can't eat, sweet > savory > spicy. Salty should go between sweet and savory tho imo

On my own I'm reading the Federalist Papers because I'm that kind of nerd (and I teach history but thats beside the point)

Looking Forward To: it's about to be AP season at my tutoring job and I'm so freaking jazzed to get to teach my favorite subjects instead of just SAT Reading/Writing all day every day. I feel like coin (and Plutarch) did Katniss, and by extension, Peeta + the other victors, dirty. Really dirty. The way they both used Peeta (by not rescuing him) as a way to basically light a fire under Katniss's ass to push her to be the Mockingjay. and as much as Finnick + Annie loved each other, the whole marriage propo was awful. Just another choice taken away from Finnick (idc if they would've married anyways ,, it's the principal of the matter 😭). And the whole filbuster thing where coin had Finnick talk about what snows secrets + the Capitol citizens did to him. I know Finn agreed, but he didn't really have a choice. Like, when your mom asks you to clean the kitchen. She's not really asking you but telling you to do it.

im going to my first fob concert and concert i have been to in a long ass time...do u have any tips on concert going esp the energy in a fababoi concert?

hmm that’s a great question!! i am not Thee most experienced ever just since my tourdust concert was the first fob concert i’d seen in 7 years (and it was a fucked kinda show—somerset lol), BUT i would say my biggest general concert going tip as someone who’s trying to be more responsible as i get older is bring some kind of ear protection!!! i used to think that was for chumps but hearing really matters; i splurged and bought the loop experience ear plugs and they’re really good at filtering out sound rather than blocking it out. also ofc please drink lots of water :)

i think my biggest “tip” for a fob concert specifically tho is: don’t be afraid to have fun and dance and sing!! i find that sometimes the crowds at fob shows can be kind of dead/low energy for some fucking reason, but don’t let that deter you or make you feel like you’re weird or too high energy!!! also, another fob specific one: i would say ofc manifest your fav song as much as you want but for your own sanity try not to get TOO too invested in wanting a specific song. i’ve just seen a lot of people on social media be like legitimately upset bc they got like Too invested in hoping for one song they didn’t get for their 8ball and idk it’s just a bit much 😭 you can hope for a very specific fob song ofc, but any fob song they could play for an 8ball would be so slay cuz every fob song is the best song ever. though of course it’s okay to feel a lil disappointment dgmw!!! so it’s both but maybe u get what i mean :) hopefully these tips help n if you have any further questions im here ;3

now i already touched a bit on the subject here, but boy howdy if she still doesn't live in my head rent free. since writing said post, I've had a brain blast in the form of an epiphany that, what if all those concepts, but she's TRANS. i know, i'm a genius (read also: stupid gay idiot). t4t jonaeri, anyone?

i wanted her design to reflect the journey of coming into her own, and finding her own definition of womanhood. at the beginning of PH, she wears very traditionally victorian clothing. long dresses, corsets, those big ass hats, the whole sha bang. over the course of the story, however, she realizes she doesn't need to conform to societal standards to be "worthy" of the title of woman, so she begins to dress in ways she wants to, or is practical for that specific situation. i wanted to make it a point that while she lets her hair down, she never cuts it or is like "EW EARRINGS BLEH' cuz like. femininity isn't her enemy!! its the patriarchal standards that enforce such a rigid, static form of it onto people!!

when it comes to the trans aspect of her story, I thought long and hard about how to go about it cuz like. i'm trans masc myself, and the last thing i'd want to do is try to infuse transness into a story and have it feel like a redundant, shitty commentary that intrudes on the narrative or smth. i think I've come up with a good idea of where to go with it, though.

i think joanna probably came out sometime in her early teen years, around 13-15, but started questioning around the time she met erina, (haven't come up w a name for him yet, if yall have any ideas feel free to shout em.) who came out much earlier, like 9 or so. just like the idea of joanna being like "omg wow u changed ur gender wow that's so crazy haha doesn't everyone feel that way tho" and erina's like. no???? they don't????

anyway once joanna came out lady joestar was like "ok fine u can trans ur gender BUT you gotta be a lady." which sucks cuz no more rugby but fuck it we ball (or I guess. not. ball.) she struggles a lot with being a poised debutante cuz shes like 6'5 and rich dudes don't really like it when their dance partners could chuck them to the colonies with one arm but fuck them. rest of the story remains mostly unchanged, blah blah blah dio blah blah stone mask blah blah you know the drill ANYWAY speedwagon's first appearance is when we really start making some real impacts on joanna's character, with some definite parallels being drawn between joanna, who was lucky enough to be rich and accepted by her family (for the most part,,,) and speedwagon, who lives in the slums with no family to speak of. by proxy, some parallels to dio as well (she'll get her own ramble when I post her design in 284738374 years), because phantom blood sets up so much for a conversation about classism that we see so little of :( love phantom blood tho dgmw

also you can bet your sweet ass that hamon is becoming a metaphor for queer liberation.

That's the thing with ac that always has and always will drive me mad is the way they introduce something so cool and charming in one game just to never touch on it again or they do touch on it but not the right way

And dgmw I get that each game should have something that makes it unique, things that are exclusive to one title, bc it makes them more special that way and it's not just rehashing the same things over and over

I WANT animal crossing to branch out and try new things. When they weren't doing that yeah it did kind of look like they might be remaking essentially the same game over and over with fairly small new additions. Like, by city folks debut that was people's main complaint, that it felt repetitive. And acnl was a total overhaul and a complete turning point for the games general philosophy and direction. And that to me was the best and worst thing that could have happened, at the same time, for different reasons

It was absolutely something that needed to happen. I just wish they hadn't abandoned so many core Things in the process. But even in new leaf it wasn't like, super apparent that that's what was going to happen..I think I didn't really start getting nervous until they released the spinoff games. And then pocket camp came out. And I got more nervous. But I wasn't too worried until the fortune cookies got introduced and they changed the title screen from like, all the villagers around a little globe to a hodge podge of villager heads surrounded by Stuff

But it's like. Fuck. In acnh it's like even the Stuff that they risked it all for isn't that much better than the Stuff we had before. Like even the mobile game is kicking your ass irt sheer creativity and whimsicalness of objects. How does that happen. Don't tell me microtransactions even tho that is the answer
