I drew the lineart for this without a sketch and I'm so proud. The first two have flat colour, the second two have a slight soft texture in the colour. Hope these work!

The two genders are “normal tags” and “a system of tagging so arcane and corny that it is functionally an anti-personnel landmine you put in someone else’s activity board when you reblog their posts”.

Happy Friday!! Who from tfw 2.0 is the most sensitive to media spoilers?
It's Dean, of course, but the twist is that he doesn't want you spoiling things...for Cas. He wants to see Cas's reaction to the thing!
I have fun opinions on other TV-watching quirks. Although Dean doesn't want you to spoil, he and Cas both chatter, sometimes incessantly, during movies. They have little judgy one-off conversations about random things. Dean often spoils any tension with, "Here it comes, here it comes. Cas, Cas, Cas, watch this part!" Dean also gives you cool factoids about the actors or how the movie was made. Cas delivers short, to-the-point corrections to scientific facts and history, and Dean hangs off his every word. "That's not very accurate, Dean."
Sam is the deliverer of spoilers. In Sam's mind, spoilers are actually good, because that way, you can decide if said thing is actually worth your time. Sam makes a bitch face and gets all huffy whenever Dean and Cas talk during movies, but he's also an info-dumper that talks. Hypocritically, he becomes Sam-pedia during movies. He's like those specials with the pop-up bubbles, where they pepper unnecessary background info as the movie goes, but Sam gives it about history, culture, and anthropology, and unlike Dean and Cas, he's way more longwinded about it. Like a lecturer.
Jack is the odd man out here. He doesn't like spoilers, and he tires of all the talking during movies. One day, he's had it, but instead of blurting out, "GUYS, SHUT UP," he simply gets up, crosses the room, unhooks the HDMI cable from the laptop, and leaves with said laptop to lock himself in his room.

My AO3 Fanfics
Updates can be slow with what my adhdass brain decides to place focus on but rest assured I aim to complete all my fics. I'll try to keep this post up to date with where I'm at with them.
AO3 link for all of my works: @bogteats
Currently working on:
[2024-03-12] reverse the script ch5 (writing...slowly)
In-progress
[M] reverse the script [4/?] - Actor/Celeb AU
Or, in which, Enid is ecstatic when she manages to bag the coveted lead role for the highly-anticipated reboot TV show of The Abrams Family as dark and broody titular character, Winter Abrams. If only she didn’t butt heads so much with her on-screen roommate, but off-screen, rival-ish, co-star.
Working on ch5 with bits here and there for ch5+. Chapter outline is...ongoing constant review lol.
[M] sink your teeth into me (and i'll do the same) [1/7] - Vampire AU
Or, in which, Wednesday finds herself making a deal and living with a rather unconventional vampire roommate.
Bits of ch2 done. Have ideas where it will go but need to figure out rest of outline. Prolly 7-8 chapters.
[E] our immeasurable ties that bind [8/19] - ABO/Omegaverse AU
Or, in which, Enid’s new life under a hidden identity is disrupted when she’s reunited with her child’s uninformed sire.
Finally completed story outline with chapters and rest of planning. Prolly 19 chaps but who knows 🥴
Upcoming (not posted yet)
[E] TBA (the nature of idiosyncrasies pt. 2) [0/1] - ABO/Omegaverse AU
One-shot set post pt. 1, or two-shot if it grows too long. Half-ish done. It is not half done at all lol.
[E] TBA (the nature of idiosyncrasies ABO swap AU retelling) [0/?] - ABO/Omegaverse AU
Plan is an absolute mess but it's vaguely there with a whole bunch of thoughts and ideas. Ch1 is nowhere near done.
Completed
Since I don't have a beta reader, all mistakes are mine and completed fics will undergo ongoing fixing of typos etc. whenever I spot them or have time.
[T] parce que toi et moi, ça fonctionne (même si ça ne devrait pas) [8/8] - Eurovision/Celeb AU
Or, in which, aspiring singer-songwriter, Enid Sinclair, tries to do more than win the biggest international song contest for the glory of France when she meets other front runner entry, Los Locos Addams, from Spain.
[E] the nature of idiosyncrasies [18/18] - ABO/Omegaverse AU
Or, in which, after Pugsley destroys a decent chunk of the Addams’ residence, they take this opportunity to do some redecorating. Upon recommendation by their mutual friend Eugene, Enid takes the project, not realizing it’s the home of her high school, kind-of, crush.
[E] hello there, it's me, the bull in a china shop [1/1] - 5+1 fic
Or, five times Enid tries to seduce Wednesday and the one time she doesn’t.
[T] what was i made for (and does it even matter) [7/7] - Christmas AU
Or, in which, Christmas elf Enid tries to win the ultimate promotion to Santa’s personal assistant by fulfilling one of the most difficult Christmas wishes: finding love for a human Grinch.

Absolute funniest category of responses to The Kink Post That Haunts My Notes is this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Second funniest category is all the people waxing lyrical about how much they love habaneros and then as an afterthought specifying "the actual peppers I mean. non-metaphorically."

A follow-up to my previous ask, do you think Jack ever calls his three dads by the wrong names? Like, my mom will call me my sibling's name on accident if I'm being particularly annoying. Maybe Jack will mix his dads' names up depending on how they're acting or what he wants from them?
Oh, this one's harder.
I've honestly been thinking about this for hours, and I have more trouble imagining Jack doing this, accidentally or maliciously. I can sort of see it when he enters his sassy mode, somewhere around mid-season 14. He might do it on purpose, just to get a rise out of the other dads, but I see it as more of a jab like: "Dean would let me." Or, "Well, Cas would get it for me."
Maybe, if he's feeling particularly in need of space: "Stop pushing, Dean. I'll call you Sam." Like a threat.
///
More likely, I think he starts making his own unique little digs, like the, "You back off, Old Man," that he hurled at Dean in Optimism.
It was such a good moment, because Dean was so sensitive about his age, lol. Dean got such a complex about it he had to go and gaze sadly into the rearview mirror.
Tumblr media
Once Jack realizes that Dean's sensitive about it, he throws in little barbs whenever Dean's been especially annoying or mean, like,
JACK: "Good morning, Dean. (wince) Rough night?" DEAN: (wondering, what's that supposed to mean?) ... OR JACK: "Well, you're not getting any younger. Obviously." DEAN: Obviously?
Juuuust passive-aggressive enough to feign innocence, you know?
I can't think yet what the unique pestering would look like for Sam and Cas, but I'll be rotating it in my mind.
Maybe for Sam, Jack keeps bringing up how "no one in Lebanon likes you, Sam. But don't worry, I like you." Sam winces every time.
With Cas, he tends to get real-mad at him rather than teasing-mad, and he's always trying so hard to show off and live up to him, it feels harder, somehow, to conjure up what the teasing would look like. I struggle to think of an instance where he wasn't trying to make himself as adorable as possible to Cas, ha!
Maybe he makes digs about Cas's lies of omission? Or maybe he nonchalantly threatens to tell everyone about the dangerous shit Cas gets up to when no one's around. "Cas never drives the speed limit. Sometimes he cuts across the median in places it says not to," kinda stuff. That is to say, Jack becomes Cas's potential tattle-tale. Jack usually makes his threats in code, so that only Cas catches his real meaning.

it seems to me like staff is realizing that people are flocking to tumblr from other social media sites like twitter and reddit, and instead of emphasizing what's great about tumblr as a platform - you can comment on posts sotto voce via tags! you can reblog the same post multiple times, including different versions of the same post! you can completely curate your own tumblr experience by ONLY looking at posts reverse-chronologically from users you follow, which literally no other mainstream social media site lets you do!!! - they've decided that the best way to appeal to these incoming audiences is to conform to the expectations that they have from other sites. staff is planning on changing tumblr UI to better fit these expectations - but those changes would directly destroy what its EXISTING userbase likes about tumblr in the first place.
tumblr does not function like any other social media site. that is a good thing! for example people love being able to click back through reblog chains, especially to read the previous tags, which is a function that doesn't exist on any other social media platform - and it's a function that staff has tumblr has already nerfed on desktop. "prev tags" are a common way for users to interact with the people they're following and provide merit and feedback to those sotto voce comments of the people they follow, and as of right now, it's a functionally extinct practice on the desktop version of the site. the changes that staff has discussed making follow this same trend of eliminating the quirks and idiosyncrasies that people love about this platform.
staff is concerned about tumblr's ability to grow its userbase and generate revenue. they are worried that tumblr isn't intuitive to use, and that the learning curve required to use the site will turn off new users. this is fair. it is a valid concern for a company for have about its product. the issue is that staff doesn't seem to realize that tumblr's uniqueness is its strongest asset. yeah, some of tumblr's features are bugs wearing a suit and tie. but they are, genuinely, features that make the site better and easier to use - and features that tumblr stands out for having. new users are coming to the platform precisely BECAUSE of tumblr's reputation as a site unlike twitter, or instagram, or facebook, or reddit. instead of examining what works about tumblr's current UI and fixing what doesn't (i.e., creating a functional tag searching system), they've decided to stuff tumblr into the twitter mold - but that isn't what people want.
i'm sincerely hoping that tumblr starts listening to its current users. i know a lot of people who use tumblr exclusively as their only social media presence, and i know a lot of those same people who would just quit social media entirely if tumblr gives up the things that make it a good social media platform.
tl;dr: @staff please listen to your userbase about the features that should stick around and about the things that do need to change

are you scared of the whole AI art thing? What do you think about it?
"Scared" is the wrong word, I think. "Pissed" is probably more accurate. The technology underlying the concept is interesting, but its current form transparently functions by mining data from artists who didn't consent to have their work used like that. Arguments over whether it's "real art" or whatever aside, that is unethical and gross and a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen.
I think the people scared that this is going to replace actual living artists are severely overestimating the technology at play here and possibly don't understand computers very much.
The reason why computers are a fascinating mix of very smart and very stupid is because they are only good at doing exactly what they are told. Human thought, communication and creation is based on a process of flexible interpretation. Our brains take in patterns of light and sound and interpret them into shapes and figures and speech - a process that is imperfect, messy and susceptible to any number of disruptions from minor chemical alterations to major brain injuries. We read text and subtext and emotional undertones into what we hear, we extrapolate assumptions from the things we see. It's an extremely messy process with a lot of room for error, as evinced by miscommunications, corner-of-the-eye shadow people, "are you mad at me I feel like you're mad at me", getting hangry, assigning personalities to car taillights, audio processing disorders, and about a million other human idiosyncrasies.
Art, down to its bones, is about interpretation - the artist interpreting a slice of the world and the audience interpreting that art. This is why no two people experience the same story the same way, and why no two artists create the same work.
Computers, in contrast, are not messy. Or, to be more accurate, they aren't naturally messy. They do exactly what they are told. They have no context, no axioms, no common sense and no rules except what they're given. A human told to write a sentence over and over again and never being told to stop will eventually get bored or tired or hungry or pissed and stop. A computer told to 'while 1: printf("Hello World!")' will do it forever until the power goes out or someone notices and forces it to stop. A person told "hey man can you go to the store and get me a mango, and if they have apples get five" will acquire a mango and possibly five apples. A computer told the same instruction may well turn up with five mangos. A computer won't do anything if you forget to close a parenthesis or put in a semicolon somewhere in a thousand lines of code because it's doing exactly what it's told. The eternal frustration of computer science is figuring out why the stupid computer isn't doing what you told it to do, and the answer is always "you didn't tell it what to do right. Find the missing parenthesis. Don't capitalize that one variable."
An artist told to paint a fantastical landscape might paint beautiful mountains or flying cities or the high, arching curves of Saturn-style rings or ancient ruins or massive skeletons or any number of things. A computer told to render a fantastical landscape will, as I understand it, comb through a database it's been given by a human, find works a human or a human-trained algorithm tagged with "fantastical" "landscape" (or, if it's been made a little more complex, a word-web of other tags commonly added by a human to things tagged with "fantastical" and "landscape") and use a very impressive program created by a human to recombine them into a mashup of "fantastical" "landscapes" that may or may not parse correctly to the human who looks at it. The computer doesn't know. The computer isn't thinking. It's just doing what it's been told to do.
If we stop thinking of computers like people that are going to take our jobs and start thinking of them like tools that people use, the whole situation becomes a lot clearer. The technology isn't the problem. The people who baked in stolen datasets and the people who are using the tool to be dicks to artists are the problem. I'm not scared of the tech and I'm not scared of the people - I just wish they'd stop being dicks.
And even if we do reach the theoretical point where a computer can create art that actually stands up to scrutiny - you know, where the hands don't look like calamari plates and the eyes and teeth don't blur together and sharp delineating lines between clothing and skin don't just sort of dissolve into shadowy vagueness - I think that'll be the point we just shift into the "holy shit! two cakes!!" zone. 3D animation didn't make 2D animation obsolete. 4K screens didn't kill pixel art. The printing press didn't kill painting. Video only killed the radio star until podcasts brought them back. People enjoy lots of things.
