Important for Hugginsverse audience

It’s been a long time since I’ve done anything with this blog, really. I’m sure most of my followers have gone away and a bunch of folks straight up think I abandoned Hugginsverse completely (I haven’t), but I feel it’s important to put some stuff out there.

This isn’t a vent, callout, sob story, or anything like that. I just want to say a few things that are very important to me, and if you enjoy Hugginsverse, they might be important to you, too.

When I was 15, I dabbled in RPG Maker and made a game called ?????. It got a major facelift when I was contacted by potential assistants and this remake was called UNKNOWN. I had no idea it would become what it did.

I’ll be 23 in less than a week, and no longer live in the house I grew up in. When I look at UNKNOWN, and the games that followed in its trail, I simultaneously see the happiest point of my life and the cringy doodle in the middle school sketchbook (but in a loving way!...mostly). I hold nothing but appreciation and love for both the stories I had created and the people I had in my audience.

However, I’d like to take a moment to look back on this series through the eyes of an adult, and point out a few things that are going to change now that I’m a bit older and my life experiences have shifted. There will be Cool New Hugginsverse News, too.

The first thing I want to put in here is an apology. I know, I said this wouldn’t be vent, but this is important. I’ll try to make it quick. There will be fun stuff later on, I promise.

The first big change is that in UNKNOWN, the entirety of Zone 2 is hereby removed from canon entirely. No UNKNOWN-related material (I’ve been questioning remakes for a while) I ever release in the future will contain any part of Zone 2 for any reason. I have more than one reason for this, and it leads into my apology.

The main reason for Zone 2′s removal is that it contains a scene depicting assault that was handled in a very insensitive way. In the interest of keeping my promise of not telling sob stories or doing callouts, I will keep it short and say that Zone 2 was not written by me, and this scene was put into the game without my full consent. (If the full story is really needed, feel free to message me on Discord at The largest bee you've ever seen#9642, as this is where I’m most active.)

However, this does not mean I’m not responsible for the scene being in the version of the game that was released to the public. Beyond all else, UNKNOWN was my own project, and everyone on the team was aware of this. At any moment I could have made the choice to remove this scene from my game. I feel insulted that such a scene used a character of mine that I love so dearly, that my favorite OC I’ve ever made is depicted committing such an action, but I had every power in the world to prevent it. I did not do so because I was worried the assistant involved would drop their support -- even though the game was pretty much complete at this point and their refusal to continue would not have mattered.

I want to apologize to anyone who may have been insulted, offended, or triggered by this scene. There was no excuse for it being left in the game. It should be considered non-canon, and will never appear again.

I also want to apologize for an ableist slur used in FastForward. This was used in an attempt to emphasize a character being unforgivable levels of mean, but looking back, it is now clear that my usage of the word at all was in incredibly poor taste and horrifically irresponsible. Any FastFoward related materials I release in the future will have this line removed entirely.

Ok, that was the most serious part, I swear. Let’s do these in ascending order so we keep getting happier.

The second retcon I’d like to introduce is actually a spoiler for 365, so if you haven’t played it, and intend to do so, please do that before clicking this link. I’d also like to warn anyone who is sensitive to animal harm before reading, although it’s non-descriptive. This one is short because it involves a traumatic event from my own life, and I don’t want to upset myself or anyone who reads this.

Third, I’d like to announce a few characters that are no longer canon in the Hugginsverse universe. These include CHARLOTTE THE OBSERVER, BANDIT THE ELSEN, LOUIS THE ELSEN. These characters are no longer included in the universe because permission to use them has been revoked by the owner. I am a bit sad, as I have seen many of these are popular characters in the fandom, but I would like to respect the original creator’s wishes.

Okay! Time for more fun stuff.

An announcement I’d like to make is that I’m working on another game. It will not be an OFF fangame, as I no longer have interest in building off that world, but it is still included in the Hugginsverse canon and features Seneca and the Puppeteer as protagonists. I intend on divorcing the franchise from OFF from hereon out by instead focusing on Seneca and the world he comes from.

I do not know a release date. Hell, I’ve been making, scrapping, remaking, rescrapping this thing for a few years now, as is made obvious by scrolling even just a little on my blog. (The images and news provided there are, unfortunately, outdated and no longer represent the game.) Do not scroll down my blog. I’ve been informed my Tumblr was taken over by sex-related spam bots in my absence. Please message me on Discord using either the server in the link below or my ID above if you wish to contact me or see what I’m up to. Perhaps posting every now and again will motivate me to create the best product I can. I’ve learned a lot since my last Hugginsverse adventure, both from a game design side and technical side, and I want my growth to show as best as it can.

One more thing... I have a Discord server where I post information about games (uncommon) and the world Seneca originated in (common). If you would like to hang out there and discuss Hugginsverse, as I am no longer in the OFF or spinOFF servers, or simply learn a bit more about Seneca’s species and the world he comes from, this server would be a lovely place to do so. I spend most of my time online nowadays on Discord, so anything sent to me there will be seen quite quickly.

Thank you for bearing with me through this very very long text post, and most of all for enjoying the series I put all my little teenage heart into. All of you are wonderful, and I am blessed to have had the experience of making something people loved and were inspired by. I can only hope, and try my best, so my future projects can achieve the same.

Gabriel is in the crafting house along with other workers who were crafting stars for tonight, Everything went well until one of the workers rushed in, sweating up a storm. “S-sir Gabriel.. ah.. Batter.. in Bartholomew.... urgent!” the Elsen couldn’t even catch his breath, nor finish his sentence, thus leaving Gabriel confused. He stood up from his chair, everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at Gabriel who was walking over to the Elsen. “A Batter you say?” “Yea! They’re in Bartholomew as we speak!” the Elsen replied. “I’ll take care of it. Everyone continue work without me, I’ll be back soon.” And with that, he set off to Bartholomew to see what the commotion was all about. “Was it Louis?” he thought to himself. “Maybe Louis is back with Rae? Or did he lose Rae again? I swear those two get separated so easily.”

Upon arriving to the heart of Bartholomew, he saw people standing idly and staring right at the unfamiliar entity. It’s not even someone Gabriel recognized. They looked very unfamiliar. “.. “ without much thought, he did his usual greeting. “Hello there stranger. Welcome to Zone 4! You’re currently in Bartholomew, the heart of this Zone. Who might you be?”

Not sure if this will go farther than tests, but I'm making my own little fangame! Tentatively called "Project GoldFinch", it would follow a small elsen from Zone 3, Finch, trying to escape from under the control of both Enoch and their addiction to sugar.

Here's pretty much everything I've made of this project so far. No promises I'll take it further, but I'm happy with what I've managed to make over these past few days. Please excuse the default chipsets. I just make facesprites and charsets lol

All of these are just screenshots of the files. I kinda want to keep fiddling with them, and I don't want to share files I'd be changing later. Plus I don't want people to use them since they're either mine or a friend's ocs..

The History

1884 Karl Elsener I opens a knife cutler’s workshop in Ibach-Schwyz. His mother Victoria actively supports him in his endeavours.

1891

Karl Elsener I establishes the Association of Swiss Master Cutlers. As a result, he is able to deliver the first major supply of soldier’s knivesto the Swiss Army.

1897

The original Swiss Officer’s and Sports Knifeis patented.

1909

Following the death of his mother, Karl Elsener chooses her first name Victoria as the brand name and registers the emblem with the cross and shield as a trademark. Today it is registered as a trademark in over 120 countries.

1921

The invention of stainless steel is a highly significant development for the cutlery industry. “Inox” is the international term for stainless steel. The combination of the two words “Victoria” and “Inox” gives the name of the company and brand today – Victorinox.

1931

Carl Elsener II introduces automation. In 1931, the company Brown Boveri is commissioned to set up the world’s first all-electric hardening plant in Ibach. This means that all knives can be guaranteed to be of a consistent high quality.

1945

The Swiss Army Knife becomes known all over the world. U.S. soldiers stationed in Europe buy it in large quantities and it begins to be a popular souvenir to take home.

1950

After the death of his father, Carl Elsener III takes the company management into its third generation.

1979

Sole proprietorship “Messerfabrik Carl Elsener” is transformed into the family company “Victorinox AG”

1984

The company doubles its manufacturing and office space. 810 employees generate sales of over 80 million Swiss francs.

1989

Under its Swiss Army brand, Victorinox enters the North American watchbusiness with its then U.S. sales partner.

1992

Victorinox opens its first sales subsidiary in Japan. Others are added in subsequent years.

1999

Victorinox enters the international travel gear market with the American TRG Group in St. Louis as the licensee.

2000

The Victorinox Foundation is established. It holds 90% of the share capital of Victorinox AG. A further 10% is held by the not-for-profit Carl and Elise Elsener-Gut Foundation. 2001

Victorinox launches a clothing line in the U.S. and opens the first Victorinox store in New York’s Soho district, selling products from all five categories.

2005

Victorinox acquires the long-standing Swiss knife and watch manufacturer Wenger SA in Delémont and allows it to operate as an independent subsidiary.

2007

Carl Elsener IV takes over the running of the business from his father and further expands Victorinox as a global multi-product brand. Following the establishment of Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG, the former Wenger perfume line is repositioned.

2008

Victorinox opens the first Flagship store in Europe at New Bond Street, London.

2013

Victorinox integrates the Wenger knife business into the Victorinox brand. Carl Elsener III dies on June 1, shortly before his 91st birthday.

2014

Victorinox acquires the travel gear business from previous licensee TRG Group and establishes the new business unit Victorinox Travel Gear AG.

Present

Victorinox is now managed by the fourth generation of the Elsener family. The company is celebrating its 130th anniversary.

Alright! Here's some info about Louis the Elsen

Louis acts very similarly to the stereotypical elsen. He is anxious, introverted, and while good intentioned, usually comes across as awkward/weird.

He is totally blind and has been since birth. He is able to vaguely "see" levels of light, but he relies mostly on his cane for getting around.

He is prone to near-constant bleeding (most often nose bleeding), which is why his shirt usually has at least a little blood on it. He gets very flighty/apologetic whenever it happens around others. He can tell it unnerves other elsen around him.

He's originally from Zone 1, but now lives in Zone 2 due to Dedan's strict rules making Zone 1 too inhospitable (ableism on Dedan's part, but since being transferred to Zone 2, he's not complaining)

Louis is the ONLY person who knows Bandit's actual name (Varik Fassad), and the only person who knew him that's still around before he started going by Bandit. They like to stick together.

That's the basics, but if you have any more specific burning questions about Louis (or any of my characters) I'll do my best to answer ^^

hello! if you are able to, can you tell us more about Louis please?

Now the question is, which Louis? I made Louis Reed before I really jumped into the whole OFF fangame culture (made Louis Reed in 2019, got into fangames in 2021-2022), and way before I actually got Louis the elsen. Both are characters I post/have posted about a lot on tumblr, so I'm unsure which this anon is asking about! I can talk about both if that's what ya'll want!

Just want the clarification (and an excuse to draw them side-by-side) :D
