like, i’m just saying, so much of our show is staring down a dire situation right in the eyes and refusing to give up.
lucius was killed? no he wasn’t; we refused to believe it. he was in the walls. he was in a hidden compartment. and then bam, there he was on the red flag.
ed was killed? no he wasn’t; he was in the gravy basket, man. stede saw his body, and helped guide him right back through the power of love.
the english was attacking? it’s suicide? no it wasn’t; the crew was a united front, and even despite loss, their spirit will always exist through the empire. they will not be defeated no matter what. they will always be together in some way or another.
it’s dire. it’s horrible. it’s so incredibly heartbreaking and frustrating. but we’re all here for each other. we’re all strong as ever. and i really want to believe we can stare all of this down, give a huge “no,” and swim back up to the surface with our beloved show in tow.
Complex single-voice sequencing, inspired by Strega's architecture.
Oscillator with complex shaping->delay->filter, it's a simple core principle but with the right choices and modulation it allows for some truly varied sounds to be squeezed out. Banshee reach is receiving FM and Shape modulation, going through Erbe-Verb, QPAS, and Melotus Versio. Percussion comes from Taiko and Daiko through Data Bender. Sequencing is done by Marbles, with range and bias played heavily to create variations.
I appreciate the angular design aesthetic of Make Noise's Eurorack modules, and I really appreciate how their new single-channel pressure pad module is almost within my price range.
(PrssPnt has four simultaneous outputs from the same touch: a momentary gate, a touch-on touch-off latched gate, an analog output proportional to the pressure you touch with (or rather, the degree of contact you make with your skin to the sensor, as per usual) — and the same pressure output but with adjustable slew, like running it through an envelope or a MATHS channel. I'd still like a full ∅-Control, but I'll sooner afford this guy's ≈$90 MSRP than its $400.)
(Yes, the design of this thing is also not out of reach as a DIY project, but I have a lot of those queued up already.)
(And as a final parenthetical, I put this on the smudged-color background to keep it from being one long skinny image that took up the whole Tumblr dashboard. "Do you love the color of Eurorack modules?")
Motherfuckers bounce up in your truck while you start to conduct
Yourself up in a way that be makin' you wanna fuck.
Wild up in the spot, and get to actin' like savages;
Tell the one who manages the spot, I got the damages.
Found a strange artefact where sequencing telharmonic causes ping-like clicks - I mixed this in with additional triggers through erbe-verb to make the strange breathing sound. Noisy percussion underlies the patch. The one thing I'd change is to axe the P-out through sinc bucina, since this piece is best completely atonal in my opinion - and also, I think I've just overused the ratcheted-LPG sound, at least for a while.
