Korg MS-20 Mini Improvisation Sounds Scapes made in combination with the Doepfer Dark Time Sequencer and Eventide Space & TimeFactor The Korg MS-20 Mini is a great analogue mono synth! The famous filters of the MS20 are a great way to make a wide range of modular sounds and texture sounds, all improvised and recorded at #FreezeFestival 2018. Alongside artists as VC-118a and Area Forty_One which also joined to play some MS20 sweetness. The Doepfer dark time sequencer is used to sequence and #tune either the midi notes coming from the Korg MS-20 or the S-trigger/CV/Gate inputs to #connect the Machines. Some prep for an upcoming video. Putting a drum machine with trans flag colours through the ESP of an MS-20M for filtering and into the transaudio to trigger the steps on its sequencer and it came out as a wierd stochastic bluesy thing, mainly due to how the triggers were coming from the filtered drum sounds, not an actual trigger. The Hammond machine is waaaay to old to do that, I'll try to make one with a devillish plan involving a light dependent resistor and a Moog System 30, but that will probably end up being used in the final video.

Korg MS-20 with multiple overdrive/distortion stages

A single repetitive bass note from the Korg MS-20 sent through multiple overdriven circuits. Recorded the signal twice and panned hard left and right for stereo effect. I also added a little bit of tape echo and room reverb.

What bothers me the most about these "I've never read the source material" #feminist #queer retellings is that retellings are, at the bare minimum, in conversation with a source material. This is true whether or not you have actually read the story you are attempting to retell. Refusing to read the source just means your conversation is now one-sided, which is detrimental to any hope of furthering the discussion or themes or narrative. So now you've interrupted a conversation with an aside that ultimately adds nothing because it doesn't know enough about what was said previously to be able to respond or build upon it. And I just...don't get it! Why would you want to tell a story that way? Why would you decide to put an addition onto a house without looking at the architectural blueprints?
