When you love your friend's au so much that you write fanfic for it

Based on @punkinspice's @shadouge-family-au ***

Everyone froze as the glass shattered on the floor.

Then little three-year-old Monty started crying because it scared him, quickly followed his twin sister Mabel, who cried because he was crying. Chase (who was five, almost six) simply looked at the glass mess and said “Oh oh.”

Amy tiptoed around the kitchen table to reach the crying twins, soothing them with gentle hugs and soft words. She glanced up at her husband.

Sonic stood exactly where he’d been when the glass had left his hand (by the kitchen sink). He stared at the floor, expression unreadable; a rare moment of him being perfectly still.

He’s normally fast enough to catch things like that, Amy thought to herself. “Sonic?”

No answer.

Any hid a worried purse of her lips, instead turning to her oldest. “Chase, you still have your shoes on—can you grab the broom for mama so she can clean up the mess?”

Sonic then seemed to jerk awake. “Sorry. I’ll get it.” He quickly left the room, not meeting Amy’s eyes. Amy heard the shutting of a cupboard, followed by Sonic returning with a broom and dustpan in hand.

“Let me help, Dad!”

Chase had gotten down from his chair and now stood by his dad amid the mess. Sonic looked down into his son’s eyes, and managed a smile—small, but grateful.

“Thanks, kiddo.”

Chase chatted away about what he wanted to do after dinner while diligently holding the dustpan in place. He made Sonic chuckle once or twice, oblivious of the tightness in his dad’s shoulders. Eventually, he and his twin siblings left the room to play. Amy stood and took the broom from Sonic.

“I’ll finish here,” she said, gesturing with her head at the living room. “Why don’t you go relax? It’s been a long day. I’ll join you in a minute.”

Sonic looked at her, his eyes somewhat distant, but he gave her a half smile and nodded. Amy heard him sigh as he left, noticing him shove his hands behind his quills as he plopped down on their woven pink couch.

A few minutes and a vacuuming job later (just to be safe), Amy came into the living room and sat beside Sonic. He stared up at the ceiling, frowning at nothing.

If Amy was going to get anything out of him, it was now or never.

“What’s on your mind, Sonic?”

Sonic sighed through his nose. He closed his eyes as if thinking of what to say. In the end, he gave a defeated shrug. “You’ve seemed on edge for a few days, now,” Amy said carefully. “Ever since our last fight with Eggman.”

Sonic’s eyes flew open. “I hate that man,” he spat out. He sat up, face scrunched with more choice, but unsaid, words. Amy stared at him, surprised at his strong language. Certainly it was universal knowledge that Sonic didn’t like Eggman (and frankly, Amy hated the man too), but to hear her husband say it outright in such frank terms was… unusual.

“Are you upset about the forest he ruined?” Another sigh. “Yes… and no.” Sonic leaned forward, pressing his mouth against folded hands. He took a deep breath.

“Do you… ever think about us as kids?”

Amy tilted her head. “How so?”

“You know… all the stuff we did.” Sonic stared at his shoes. “How… crazy it was that we were kids?”

Amy took a small breath, understanding his meaning. She bit her lip. “Yes. All the time.” She waited for Sonic to continue, but he went quiet then. He began tapping his foot at the base of the couch—a nervous habit when he was thinking.

“My earliest memories are running,” Sonic said finally. “I was, I dunno—maybe four? Five? Chase’s age. I didn’t know where I came from or where I was going, and I didn’t care. It didn’t matter. I thought I was fine. I was fine! I couldn’t even talk yet, and I was fine! I just ran wherever the wind took me.” He took a shaky breath. “But imagining our kids in the same position just-!”

He cut himself off, burying his head in his hands. After a moment, he dropped them into his lap.

“We were so young.”

Amy nodded slowly. “We were very young,” she echoed. After a moment, she asked “Does that scare you?”

Sonic’s face scrunched again, but not in anger this time. “I was never afraid for myself growing up. I knew I’d be fine. But I was afraid for Tails, when he came into the picture. Some days I was so scared I didn’t know what to do with myself. And I guess, now… I’m afraid for them, too.” He ran a trembling hand down his face, forcing a laugh. “Heh… Guess things don’t change as much as you think they would, huh?”

“No,” Amy said, watching him, “I guess they don’t.” She put a soft hand on Sonic’s knee, leaning into him. “But I think that’s a good thing. It means you love them.”

Sonic sighed, his hand going to his forehead. “I just… I don’t know how to do this.”

“Do what?”

“Raise our kids! Especially when we’re practically badnik magnets! It’s a miracle Eggman doesn’t send a squadron after us every week!”

Amy rubbed his knee reassuringly. “Even if he did, you know Tails’ security system would warn us long before anyone was in danger.”

“I know…”

Amy thought a moment, then she leaned forward, trying to see her husband’s face. “You know, you know how to do this better than you think you do. You forget that you raised Tails.”

A husky laugh, almost desperate. “I didn’t know what I was doing then, either! It's a miracle that kid's even alive! I pulled him into so many things without even a second thought, and I had no idea how to raise a kid, I—!”

Sonic felt Amy’s hand on his chin then. It rested there for a moment, and then he relaxed just enough to let it guide him, lifting and turning his head so he could meet her gaze. Amy beamed at him, eyes soft and gentle. “And look how well Tails turned out.”

Sonic stared at her. Then suddenly he realized his cheeks were wet, and he went to wipe them with his gloves. Instead, Sonic found himself sinking into his hands. He gasped.

Amy started as her husband began to sob. A second later, she slid over again on the couch and encircled him in her arms, leaning her cheek against the side of his head, rubbing a soothing hand along his back between his quills.

“I don’t deserve you,” Sonic coughed out from behind his hands.

“I don’t deserve you,” Amy whispered back. She continued to rub between his quills. Then she kissed his head, feeling him tremble beneath her touch.

“Do any of us really know what we’re doing?” she eventually murmured in his ear. “We’ve never done this before, and that’s scary. I’ll admit, I worry about our kids sometimes too.”

She continued as Sonic struggled to catch his breath. “We don’t know what the future holds. But,” she said, a soft smile in her voice, “you don’t have to do this alone. You won’t be alone—I’ll be with you every step of the way. We’re in this together.” She kissed his head again. “It’ll be another grand adventure.”

A few more shuddering breaths from Sonic, and he gradually began to still. Then he nodded, though his head still rested in his hands. “Another adventure,” he whispered. “Like it’s always been.”

“Like it’s always been,” Amy nodded affirmative. She moved her hands to hug him around his shoulders.

They sat there for a few minutes, neither willing to move. They could hear their three little ones playing in the other room. Monty laughed.

“You know what I think?” Amy eventually asked. “I think that, with our kids along for the ride, it’ll be even more fun. More so than it’s ever been before.”

At that, Sonic finally smiled. “Yeah…” He lowered his hands, revealing it, then he glanced her way. “The more the merrier, right?”

Amy giggled. “Right!”

She stroked Sonic’s cheek for a moment. Then she stood and took Sonic’s hand. Surprised, he followed her outside onto their balcony. It had been built directly onto the tree that had become their literal treehouse, overlooking their backyard. Sonic stopped beside Amy.

“Woah…”

A vibrant explosion of oranges and deep pinks greeted them as the sun set over the distant mountains. They stared at the glorious sight, still holding hands.

“The beauty still gets me every time,” said Sonic.

“Yes,” Amy sighed.

After a moment, Sonic cleared his throat. "Sorry that I—"

“No. It’s ok.” Amy looked away from the sky and into her husband’s eyes. She squeezed his hand. “I’m glad you told me.”

Sonic’s cheeks tinged pink as he smiled, rubbing the back of his head with his free hand. “Tryin’ to be better.” Then he met her eyes. “Thanks for listening.”

Amy grinned. “Like I said: we’re in this together.” Then she pecked him on the cheek, which made Sonic laugh and blush harder. He squeezed her hand in return. He pulled her into a hug, his arms around her waist, head resting on hers while facing the sunset.

“You know… I may still be scared silly,” he said, “but there’s no one else I’d rather be with on this crazy new family adventure than with you.”

Amy now felt herself blush. “Oh, Sonic.” She leaned into the fur on his chest, smiling as the sun ducked behind the horizon. “Me too.”

Why do you dislike sonamy so much though? Not starting ship wars just geinuely wondering from your last post about the new trailer

I actually don't hate the ship, while it's not my cup of tea I see them more as 1st boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Even in my AU I have it where they were first to date each other but at some point they figure out their preferences/sexuality, things they need to work on themselves that can hinder a long term romantic relationship, etc, and they decide they're better as friends than lovers! Nothing more but nothing less cause they have a great dynamic, and even some hints in canon that I can't deny are sweet but feel to me like they wouldn't go into super serious territory like marriage

But I guess my annoyance comes from the fans that spam it while demanding them to practically get married on screen. (Mind you, sonamy gets the most hints and even fucking official merch so it's like what more do y'all want + Sonic ain't about romantic relationships) It's like with any sonic ship not just sonamy, don't make that shit canon I'd rather have hints and nudges than flat out make them a couple. (Especially cause of Sonic's personality, immaturity, and he's supposed to be our freedom loving run with the wind rebellious hero.) Also just shoving the ship in folks faces as a selling point or audience grab (fucking looking at you writers of Boom), it's just my biggest pet peeve.

Also been seeing the ship in tags for the game so even if I mute the tag or word, I still get bombarded and it's like

So I guess to sum up the rant, it's a cute ship in small doses but fuck the hardcore fans I avoid them at all costs for my sanity because I'm a heterophobic loser to the blue boy + pink girl straight ship 🤪🤪🤪 but fuck the sonamy haters too that harass the fans like y'all just annoying if not worst cause no fictional ship is worth "wars" over

Looking to really cement Shadow as antagonistic to Amy in this AU so what if I -

"Why would I feel sorry for you? Moreover, why have I done to you that warrants an apology on my half? For what? For freeing your boyfriend from the vice grip you kept him in? For putting you in your place?

Your path was always nice and linear: be a fair lady, marry a prince, reign as queen, continue the family legacy. Mine wasn't. I knew that I was destined for something greater than stealing candy from babies in squalor - I'd have no other purpose to exist - but I never knew the details, I was never truly prepared. You've been indoctrinated into the ridiculously meticulous royal system, meanwhile I had to fight my base instincts just to keep my manners intact around figures whose names I could barely remember.

Unlike you, I don't come from a nice warm bed. Unlike you, I had to scrap together what I could to survive. Unlike you, I had to fight tooth and nail to receive praise or even basic acceptance, from my father, from every citizen of Mobius. Unlike you, I've been rejected by Mobians and Islanders alike. Unlike you, I never knew love for a long while.

Because the thing is, from a basic story perspective, Amy as Audrey makes more sense than any other character (assuming she's being aged up from 12, which I assume if she's old enough to attend Auradon/Mobius Prep she must be closer to Sonic's age). But Amy is at her core kind-hearted, so the personality change is so drastic that it requires a lot more strife (plus some Black Arms shenanigans) to turn her into a villain for part 3. She might be one of my favorite characters in this AU!

It's so interesting, because I can see where both Shadow and Amy are coming from. And like I was about to say that who Sonic marries is ultimately his own choice but bruh. I assume his courtship with Amy was arranged, and if the love spell didn't happen (even if it wore off quickly and was replaced with true love) like...... how much say did Sonic initially have in dating either of them? And how does that affect his ability to choose for himself? Sonic of all characters being limited in his freedom? Angst angst angst.

Skdhsvdf fucked up love triangles where everyone is hurt for the win. Congrats, you managed to be the only one who's made me like the sonadow-sonamy love triangle concept.

Hello! I was just wondering , do you have any sonamy fanfic suggestions you wouldn’t mind giving ? I’ve been looking around and sometimes it’s hard to find good quality fics!

Hi anon! It's been a long while since I went on a fanfiction hunt myself, so I don't know what's currently taking the fandom by storm. Well, actually, I know a couple of really cool stories... but they aren't finished nor available to the public right now. (Hopefully they'll see the light, though. Some of them were really well written!)

A couple of months ago a friend and SonAmy expert I know shared Wars of the Heart (AU, Weresonamy) in my Discord server, but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. It seems like that one may come with a couple of content warnings, though.

(She also shared a couple more with us, but those were some long, clearly NSFW fanfics lol.)

Have you gone through Mayra's whole archive? I know it's sort of a vanilla reply, but I was chatting with some friends the other day and we were SUPER nostalgic for some of those prompts and stories, like the good ol' Boom!SonAmy secret relationship prompt, the one where Amy actually dies (that one literally broke me back then), the one where Amy moves on from Sonic and gets married (Mayra, we love you, but the ending omg kjsdksjdsk) or just Timeless Game (aged!SonAmy), one of my all-time favorite oneshots out there. I also don't know if Dark Sonic Forces (#intense) is done, I lost sight of that one after the second chapter was released and I still gotta return to it haha

That's all I can think off the top of my head, but if you don't mind getting one of my friends... hey @waywardcollectionchai, do you have some fanfic recommendations for us? (Mutuals, you can join in too :P)

Oh prompts are back! Okay here's an interesting idea, Mephiles and Scourge both decide they want to take over the dimension and rule as king and also decide they need a queen to rule at their side and they both pick Amy. So they're fighting to rule and also make Amy their bride so Sonic has to both fight them off and protect Amy from them marrying one of them. Extra comfort for sonamy would be great please and thank you!

I shall do my very, very best.... at the very least lolol

Prompt:

As per usual, Eggman had conducted an experiment to try and harness the power of dimensions and worlds to his bidding. The result? After a long and tedious feud between the dimensional Eggmans on who was to rule all, the original was defeated by the many Sonics that appeared, and his friends sealed up the holes in the dimensions.

However...

Some individuals didn’t return... scourged by the humiliating ridicule of his universe, one hid to avoid capture and plan his revenge and final takeover.

Another withdrew into shadows,... lurking in wait as he found a way to keep a hole to his dimension open... traversing the timeline by acquiring this world’s Chaos Emerald and trapping his universe in a ‘frozen’ state.

Very complexed stuff, but the leaking of dimensional energy allowed him to pull his Other Half through to this dimension... but something was going horribly wrong.

“No!” Mephiles was trying to use the power the Chaos Energies to combined himself at last with Iblis, but Scourge had found the dimensional leak, and wanted in on the conquest...

He smirked as he gripped the Master Emerald, standing upon it as power radiated through him like electricity. “Woooo, snooze and you really do loose, buddy!” He held his fingers up like he was going to snap, having already seen Mephiles take out Knuckles who was lying upon the ground... “If I’m gonna be king over this pathetic universe, I’m gonna need some of that bodacious power!” he seemed to be purposefully trying to tick Mephiles off, not knowing who the being was, but seeing the flames circling the emerald and his focus in trying to blend his power with it’s own.

“You are useless, and I am not one who takes such inferior taunts!” Mephiles rose the emerald up, deciding to take care of the insect before he lost full concentration and Iblis was released into another form, which would tip off the heroes and led to a continual, strenuous chase to reach and combined first with him before Sonic and the gang defeated him yet again.

“You’re trying to seal those flames inside you, right?” Scourge pulled out a ring, but to Mephiles, he didn’t see the significance of this exchange. Scourge snapped and the ring glowed, “Then I’ll make a wish to have this power in-!”

Before all of this, Tails had been hosting Amy at his house, but the flames of Iblis leaked in streaks across Angel Island and they quickly set out to check it out.

Now, as Scourge was declaring his chaotic and powerful desires, Tails had landed the X-Tornado and Amy rushed to the scene first. “Amy, wait-!” he cried out, but she jumped down and rushed to see Knuckles slowly waking up from getting beaten down, and...

“Sonic..?” She looked horrified up at the Green Hedgehog.

“Erk-!?” He gritted his teeth, seeing another dimensional Amy. “YOU!?”

Suddenly, as though the command already issued, Iblis’s power completely broke it’s ties to Mephiles, spinning wildly out of control like a whipping hurricane of lined flames tumbling over each other to spiral down and head towards Amy.

“WHAT!? No! That’s not my-! Nooo..!!!” Scourge watched as the Ring shook his hand and finally burst, letting it’s power merge with Amy as Iblis swarmed her being.

She bent down and screamed as the flames dried up the gloss in her eyes, the tears from the pain, and then only left her with the seared ground beneath her feet as she collapsed.

“You insufferable fool..!” Mephiles dove down, pausing midway as he saw Tails rush out from the cover of the trees. “My Iblis...” He glared, slowly... down at Amy. He began to form a plan to reunite with Iblis... but it couldn’t be as of yet...

“Uhh... I have a feeling this makes that annoying pest somewhat valuable now...” Scourge bit his teeth down as he spoke, raising his head up as though also trying to figure out what to do now.

“I must reunite with... her now.” Mephiles hunched his body forward, as ghostly shadows started leaking from his being, crystalizing himself as though outwardly showing his resolve.

“Unite with... Woah! You sayin’ the only way I can get that power out of her is to-!?” Scourge looked aghast, as though that was the last person he’d want to ‘have fun’ with. He looked to the camera with a face that was clearly disgust, but also extremely agitated. “Ugh... If I have to... might as well let it burn.” a slow rising smirk spread across his face as he looked back at Amy.

Tails looked to the waking Knuckles and then the fainted Amy, before his eyes shook at the strange figures above him... One standing with his arms folding in secret delight at the prospect of conquering more than a new dimension... and the other looked ready to fight anything and everyone to secure himself to the new host of his full, undefiled power source once more...

“Sonic’s gonna hate me, which makes that a bonus, right? Taking his little wench in this dimension and killing off the rest of practically anything else with those flames will make for one heck of a wake-up call.” Scourge pulled his glasses down to cover his eyes, “So... Looks like you’re first, little cinders.” he teased, his glasses reflecting Amy in them... “Sadly, something’s gotta fit.”

After a terrible defeat from an already wounded Knuckles and an unexpecting assault that Tails didn’t plan for, having nothing but his flying-abilities to fight back with, Amy was abducted briefly before Mephiles and Scourge started playing tug-o-war and keep-away, trying to keep the ‘host of Iblis’ so they could harness it’s power by unleashing it again... Sonic had finally found them.

They didn’t get too far, the two were dueling each other as Amy was told her friends had died trying to destroy the flames inside her, and that they thought of her now as a ‘sacrificial lamb’ to save the world.

Hoping this would make Amy cry, Mephiles and Scourge were amazed to discover her resilience. She wouldn’t yield to their lies, and kept trying to flee as she was tossed back and forth between the two.

“Iblis, you must rejoin with me!” Mephiles, through the power of the Chaos Emeralds, was able to summon Shadows and large beams to strike at Scourge, who expertly dodged and weaved through them, taking out the Shadows and grabbing Amy around her waist. “Solaris is our destiny!!!”

“You’re not hot, and I can barely stomach calling you ‘Babe’, but there’s a fire in you that I just gotta taste.” Scourge tilted his head enough for her to see his eyes under the sunglasses, but she was more confused since he really did look like the spitting image of Sonic, just... different colors.

This wasn’t like her mistaking Shadow and Silver for Sonic... this really confused her.

“You... Who are you people!?” She kept pushing against him as he kept trying to bring her closer. “Let me go, you creep!”

He scaled his hand up her bare back in a weird, perverted crawl. “Now, now, the time for cute nicknames can wait, Babe. First, let me get rid of the audience...” Scourge had a wicked sense of delight at spooking her like this, but his attention soon turned to Mephiles, who didn’t realize Scourge’s error in not understanding what he meant by ‘reunite.’.

“If she doesn’t release the flames willingly... I’ll pull them out of her...” He reached out for her as Scourge threw her up on his shoulder, getting ready to fight and depart. “Along with the last breath she’ll ever take...Hahahahah!!!” Mephiles rose in the air before Sonic spin-dashed in a wild stream of light into Scourge, slamming into his gut as Amy was flung from his arms.

“What’s this?” Mephiles curled his fingers and watched as a more ‘familiar’ Sonic uncurled and raced back into the scene.

“I don’t know what you two weirdos want with Amy, but it’s not happening!”

“Sonic!” Amy cried out but some Shadows caught her and started hauling her back as Mephiles hovered down to her.

“So... this is your universe’s hero...” He glared deeply, “Another Sonic...”

Scourge was fuming with leftover hate for the other dimensional Sonic in his universe, and decided to take it out on this one. “Do me a favor, just act like you know me and don’t like me, then I can make this fight reaaaaall satisfying!”

“That shouldn’t be too hard.” Sonic smirked, charging into Scourge who speedily dodged and rammed a punch into his face. ‘What!? He has my super speed!’

“HAHAHAHA!!! You’re even more lamer than that Other Me!” Scourge adjusted his jacket and pulled out a pocket-knife. “No offense, but this is entirely personal...”

While the two were distracted, Mephiles turned to Amy and his minions held her up in the air, “Ah! H-hey! Why am I such a big deal all of a sudden!?” She tried to summon her hammer, and did in fact beat two away, but Mephiles grabbed her hammer and sent a crystalized clawed hand up to her chin.

“I can see them...” His eyes reflected her own... and like flickering flames, she gasped at her reflection. “If you won’t submit to your hopeless fate... then I shall destroy this husk that prevents me from joining into my true self!” he swiped but she bent her head back and dodged, but now... she knew what he meant.

“You’re both trying to kill me... for those flames that encircled me!?” She felt genuine fear then as Mephiles threw his energies into her shadow, causing her to cry out before he lifted her up and and held her in place. “Finally,... I shall have Iblis... And you, Amy Rose, will have some unparalleled significance... For a brief moment after your heart is burnt to a crisp, HAAHAHAH!!!!” He pulled his hand back to power up an attack, similar to the same beam he had used to once destroy Sonic, but Scourge threw his knife and it ‘tink’d off of his head.

“Now, who would be so stupidly ignorant of their own mortal ficklety?” He pivoted in the air as Scourge had gripped Sonic’s head to stop him in-battle... and clearly had thrown the knife.

“So, you lied to me?” Scourge laughed, “If I knew all I needed to do was strangle the girl, I wouldn’t have bided my time having fun with her first!” He laughed, “I’ve still promised the ugly trash a date, kinda hard to please a waiting corpse. Plus, I know that’ll just tick you off in the end anyway...” He turned back to Sonic, who kicked his hand away and looked up to Amy, shadows keeping her up in the air as she struggled and tried to use her hammer to give her some space between the ghostly vines that held her.

“Urk! What the-!? Weren’t you the ones who threw this thing at me in the first place?” Amy kicked her feet as the shadows kept crawling to reach her below. “Ah!”

“Oui, I called first!” Scourge grabbed Sonic’s raised leg and thrashed him with a mighty swing into the shadows.

Mephiles shot beams and hurriedly secured Amy to him, gripping the back of her head so she wouldn’t struggle anymore.

“Ahh!” She cried out as Sonic spun and threw Scourge to the remaining Shadows, who slowly overwhelmed him like zombies...

“No, quit it! Get your hands off the merchan-Nooo..!!!” He was enveloped by them as Sonic turned to Mephiles.

“Whatever thing you forced into Amy’s body... get it out!” Sonic pointed an accusatory hand to Mephiles, before swinging his arm out wide.

The two fought, but all the while, Mephiles was using it to get Amy to see Sonic suffering.

On the verge of crying, seeing Mephiles overtake Sonic and about to jab his sharpened crystalized hand through him, Amy cried out and the Flames encased the sky...

“At last...” Mephiles still went for the kill shot, but something strange happened, Scourge jumped to Iblis, trying to absorb the flames that would not accept him as a host.

“Darn! He’s still connected, huh!?” Guessing it was Amy, he grabbed her and the dark, ghostly flames around her released her from their hold.

Sonic shook his head away and grabbed Mephiles’s emerald, “NOO!!” the shadows all dissipated to the ground as the sound of a plane suddenly threw everyone down slightly as it passed towards the flames.

“Now, Blaze!” Tails cried out as Silver lifted Blaze into the spiraling flames.

The flames joined with her and she disappeared from his world, but the two emeralds she carried fell to Sonic, who finally had enough juice with all seven Chaos Emeralds to go Super Sonic.

“Heheh...” Scourge still knew he had the power of the Master Emerald, he could take on Super Sonic, “A kiss of death for the road?”

“What?”

Amy was jabbed with a knife and fell to the ground... having Scourge’s lips still lingering on hers.

He stuck out his tongue to Sonic and then wiped his mouth as he dropped her down, “Not really my type.” He joked, as Sonic’s color turned darker and he suddenly cried out as he transformed into Dark Sonic.

Mephiles’s eyes twitched at Blaze uniting successfully with Iblis, “But... how!?” before a shadow touched his own. He flinched, turning to see Shadow, Rouge, and Omega behind him.

He slowly began to laugh at the irony... then his laughter rose as he unleashed an all out attack at them.

Silver followed Blaze’s trail, but the universe was becoming unfrozen, and soon... that time-collapse ability was being to rewrite everything back to what it was.

With a flash of light, Amy was back at Tails’s home. She touched her lips and then her side... felt shadows and flames lick at her skin... and the cold, crystalized fingers piecing into the back of her head...

“Amy?”

She looked up from her teacup, shaking her head like nothing was wrong. She looked out the window, seeing nothing strange on Angel Island...

She felt a jab in her side and what felt like a cramp and gripped it tighter, then felt something soaring in her heart as though a beam of darkness binding her back to that timeline...

But she wouldn’t yield to it.

She wouldn’t cry.

She let the pain carry on till the leaking was done and the event... never happened...

“You seem kinda spacy.” Tails made a face and she assured him.

“Come on, you know I daydream constantly.” but she was sweating... she could feel ice tickle under her neck and chin where Mephiles had threatened her, she looked down into the reflection of the teacup... and saw his eyes reflecting flames in hers.

The teacup broke and she covered her mouth, racing out as she remembered a forced, smelly kiss and then the blood from the knife...

She remembered the black... then a dawn of light... and the flames blazing through her.

What she didn’t know... was it was the residue of the timeline that had just occurred, still lingering... almost passed...

She fell to the hill of Tails’s home and gripped the ground, shaking as she forced herself not to cry.

‘If I cry... then that other timeline will exist again!’ she felt her shadow suddenly pull from her, and with terrified eyes, saw Mephiles form out of her elongated silhouette.

“...You saved me...” He gave a low, billowing chuckle that rocked her entirely. “How unfortunate... for you...” He slowly moved towards her, and as she backed away, suddenly felt herself freezing.

“Wha...What’s happ-...” she couldn’t even form the words right, as she felt a chill still her entire being.

He rose his hand and gripped her mouth gently, but with enough force to make it feel like he was going to suffocate her, and looked deep into her eyes again.

“Shhhh... You’ll be dead soon, anyway. Struggle... cry beneath me... it won’t matter if you shout now... Your friends failed to completely remove that timeline from existence. Silver... His accomplice... Their plan has failed you.” He moved closer, a zombie-like head wobble as he looked like the spitting-image of Shadow now... but dulled colors, and she couldn’t figure out why.

That other man... looked like Sonic.

Now this man... looked like Shadow.

What on earth was going on!? Were these beings... forms of other Sonics and Shadows!? How could that possibly be!?

She couldn’t close her eyes, his power in freezing his own timeline failed, but he had joined with her own to preserve himself as a last resort.

Which meant she was the flickering flame... if he blew her out, she really would reset time and he could try all over again.

She didn’t know what to do... Time was jumbled within her core, she was the bridge to multiple timelines and intersecting universes...

“Shh... Just bend to Time’s will... I am infinite... inevitable... you cannot hope to prosper and win this time...” he slowly pulled her down, as though pushing her into the darkness of her own shadow. “I’ll steal your time-energy... take it as my own... and as Time resets, I’ll anticipate those annoying headaches you call ‘Sonics’ and become the destructive force revered as Solaris! I’ll be a God again-!” as though growing impatient for that time, he began to slam her into the darkness where she honestly couldn’t breathe now.

She struggled, swinging her hammer in pitch-blackness, grabbing his unwavering hand and arm in hopes to break free of his hold on her.

But the darkness was draining her time-energy... soon... she would disappear.

‘Sonic...’ she thought to herself, ‘He’ll destroy you... and if I’m connected to the other worlds... he’ll try and use that power to destroy you too... I can’t allow that... I can’t... breathe...’

Then the flames of Iblis burned a light into the world, and swallowed Mephiles in it’s wake.

His eyes widened, “Yes...” he cried out, “YYYEESSS!!!” but just as time was about to be conquered by Mephiles... He let go of Amy as she sunk into the darkness... and another gloved, white hand reached in and pulled her up.

Mephiles was back in his time, it unfroze and he was defeated and erased just as like the first time.

He couldn’t change fate.

But Sonic did.

Sonic pulled Amy up to him, his blackish-blue body encasing her in his own darkness.

A flickering darkness... to match her flickering flame of light.

With Iblis now out of her body, he threw her through a portal made by his uncontrolled Chaos Energy, speedily making it time for her to breathe again,... this time, back at Tails’s house again.

“Amy? You seem kinda spacy.”

Tails’s voice pulled her out as she gasped and the teacup broke again.

“Ah! Hey! Are you okay!?” Tails rushed to her but paused as she darted to the door. “Amy!” he cried out, reaching for her but she had already bolted down the hill.

“Sonnniccc!!!” she cried out, tears bursting from her eyes as the memory she had of that other timeline was quickly being erased from her.

She stopped suddenly and turned to her shadow... seeing Dark Sonic’s glowing white eyes in it.

“...Sonic...” she bent down to reach him, and he matched her action, but her shadow wasn’t of her, it was his own form...

“You’re safe now... Amy.” His eyes bent slighlty, “Time can’t hurt you now.”

“Sonic...” she dug through the earth, wanting to be with him, “What about you! You’re from that time! You’ll fade away!”

His eyes closed and his form turned from her, “That time shouldn’t exist... anything from that time shouldn’t... a world without you... is a world I choose to destroy.”

“Sonic!!!” she watched as her shadow faded in the light of the day... and her tears seemed to ripple into the dark-world she had almost fallen too...

Then Sonic’s silouette appeared coming from behind her and she turned to see Sonic holding three chilidogs. One in each hand, and one sticking out from his mouth.

“Whahh hapahpan?” he spoke with it in his mouth, blinking innocently at her tears. (What happened?)

She tried to hold it in, but dashed to him, hugging him as he struggled to not drop the food.

“I-!” a flash of light... and when she opened her eyes.... she couldn’t remember why she was crying. “I don’t know... I can’t... remember...”

The pain in her side, the fire in her soul, and the cold icy spikes on her face were... gone.

“I guess... I just missed you.” she pulled away then, “Are you okay?”

He blinked, raising an eyebrow. “Yah’re wahrd.’ He answered back, then saw Tails flying towards them. (You’re weird.)

“There you two are!” he waved, having also forgotten everything as in that flash, the teacup was still upon the table, undisturbed...

They waved back to Tails and it appeared to be another normal evening...

(I hope I did alright XD Not as evilly romantic as you may have wanted it to be, but I felt it fit their characters more this way..? and yes, Timey-wimey, wibbly-wobbly logic that makes this perfectly in line with Sonic 06 logic >u>; )

Sonamy #2 AU

@blogkittylove, you requested this story from the Choice Board, so here it is!

Before you start reading the story, I just wanted to let you know that this is a different AU, than the other one. This one is where Sonic’s in the mafia, and he’s hiding his true identity from Amy. He speaks in Portuguese, but in this story, he’ll speak Spanish, because Portuguese is harder for me to understand and speak, so I’m going with Spanish. (Because I am LMAO) What’ll happen when he tells an order to one of his men in Spanish, unaware that Amy understands?

(Amy’s POV)

I was sitting in my apartment watching T.V, until I heard the door unlock. Standing there was my boyfriend, Sonic. He was wearing a black fedora and a white dress shirt, which was kind of open at his chest. Oh my Chaos, that chest fur. It’s not a lot, but it’s still there. He looked at me and then the clock, and walked over. I smiled, while his was more smug.

“Hi, Sonikku. How was your day?” I asked him, as he cuddled besides me. He rested his face in the crook of my neck and nuzzled.

“It was alright. What about you?” He said, licking my neck a little. It made me squirm a little.

“It was good, I wrote a few recipes, so I tried making them at the bakery. Everyone liked it, and a lot of people bought it. I brought some for you.” I could tell that he was smiling on my neck.

“Where is it?” I pointed to the kitchen, and he ran to find the cupcake box. His mouth was covered in it, and he was moaning in delight. My face started heating up for some reason, but I ignored it. Sonic turned and noticed that I was staring at him, and that just caused my face to become more red. He smirked again, and devoured the last cupcake, and walked back to me. While he was walking, he got a phone call, probably from Knuckles, and went to my bedroom to answer it. I suddenly remembered that I left my phone in there, and I was in contact with Sonic’s mother, so I tip-toed to the door and put my ear against it.

“What?! Find it, Knuckles.” Sonic’s voice was booming from the other side of the door, and he seemed angry.

“Boss, relax, we’re trying. Besides, you don’t want your girlfriend eavesdropping in this conversation, do you?” I heard Knuckles’s voice from over the phone, but not all the way.

“Shut up, I don’t think she would do that anyways, she respects my privacy. My Chaos, I love her...”

“Can you talk in Spanish though, you never know...” I knew Sonic could speak Spanish, but he didn’t know that I could too. I heard a sigh.

“Lo quiero muerto, Knuckles. ¿entiendes?” (I want him dead, Knuckles. Do you understand?) Wait a minute... Muerto means dead. Why would Sonic want to kill somebody? Wait, no. Maybe he’s saying that in a figurative way? A metaphor, perhaps?

“Sí señor. Tenemos hombres que le detectan ya que hablamos.” (Yes sir. We have men tracking him down as we speak) Tracking him down? Probably to get him in jail, I guess.

“Perfecto, ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que tuve el placer de dispararle a alguien.” (Perfect, it’s been a long time since I’ve gotten the pleasure of shooting someone.) Okay, now those innocent thoughts are gone. He’s actually talking about killing. Shooting somebody to be exact. I thought Sonic worked with boats and vehicles? Or at least, that’s what he tells me. Wait, no, Silver told me that.

“¿Alguna vez le dirás a Amy que estás en la mafia?” (Are you ever going to tell Amy that you’re in the mafia?) I almost choked, but made a silent gasp. I realized that Sonic went silent and whispered something else to Knuckles, so I quickly (but silently) ran to the kitchen, which was right next to the living room. On the other side of the T.V, was my room. Luckily the t.v. was at a good enough volume. My ears twitch as I hear Sonic walk out of my room. I caught him staring at me. Thank Chaos I’m a professional liar.

“What?” I question, as though I wasn’t just spying on him.

“¿hablas español?” (do you speak Spanish?) He asked me. I cannot let him know that I understood.

“. . .What?” I answered, even though I was fully aware of what he had asked.

“Do you speak Spanish?” He repeated himself in English. I shook my head.

“I speak French, Sonic. Did I not tell you that?” I told him. I didn’t exactly lie about that, I do know French. (LMAO, the author of this story sure doesn’t)

“Then say something in French, then.” (i used google translate dont kill me)

“Je sais ce que tu veux.” (I know what you’re up to) Knowing that he wouldn’t understand what I said.

“What did you say?” he inquired curiously. I think of a sentence to say.

“What do you want for dinner?” I lied once again.

“I’m in the mood for some steak and mashed potatoes.” I nodded, and proceeded to make our dinner, acting completely normal, as though I haven’t just found out that my boyfriend is a mob boss. Or at least I think he is. He was giving orders.

“Sonic, do you know any new funny movies? I’m in the mood.” I yelled from the kitchen. I tried to keep myself content. Besides, he’s in the mafia. No big deal. He wouldn’t hurt me...

But his enemies would...

They could see me with him and know that I’m important to him. They might kill me...

It’s not safe to date him. . .

‘Oh welp,’ I thought. ‘He’ll protect me. He wouldn’t let anyone get away with hurting me, even emotionally.’

I heard Sonic’s phone ring again, and went to the sink to fill a pot up with water.

“What is it now, Knuckles.” Sonic whisper-yelled at his phone, making sure that I couldn’t hear him.

“Lo tenemos.” (we got him) was all I heard. I knew instantly that Sonic was going to leave, and I decided to tease him a little. As soon as he ended his phone call, I jumped on top of him, before I hear him yelp out in surprise. I go up to his face and kiss him. He was still in shock for a few moments, but started giving back, only harder. His hands go to my waist, while mine go around his neck. He licks my lips, begging for entrance, and I allow him. I heard his phone ring, but I see he’s trying to answer it, so kiss harder, and slowly kick the phone off onto the carpeted floor. I feel Sonic’s hands going a little lower, so I move my hands to his chest, and start playing with his fur. One of my hands go to his back quills and starts to stroke them. He starts quivering at the touch.

That’s one of the reasons I love him. He’s my first, and I’m his first in basically anything romantic. The phone rings again, but Sonic rolls on top of me, and nips at my neck, and gives my hips a squeeze. Once I’m distracted, he grabs his phone and runs to my room. I sigh, and check on the potatoes, which are still boiling, and I start cooking the steak. Once I decide I can leave the steak alone for a bit, I go to my bedroom door and listen in on their conversation.

“Torturarlo por un rato, iré mañana.” (torture him for a bit, I’ll come tomorrow) Torture?! You know what? I won’t allow him to keep secrets from me. I’m going to indirectly tell him that I know! I heard him walk out of the room and back on the couch.

“Saber algo~” (I know something...{A/N this is not a real song. If you know Camila Cabello’s My Oh My, sing it like that.) I see Sonic snap his head towards me.

“Sé que te dije una mentira...” (I know I told you a lie)

“Sé que has estado matando.~” (I know you’ve been off killing~) I slide through the kitchen and put the food onto a plate like I’m presenting them in a cooking show.

“Te amo no importa lo que hagas.~” (I love you no matter what you do) I spin and place the dishes on the already set table. He looked a little shooketh, finally realizing that I understood what he was saying this whole entire time. I knew he was hispanic, and I was too, but from my dad’s side. So, if Sonic’s a mob boss, he could easily find out anything about me, except for my dad. He wasn’t in my life, and I never really met him. My mom taught me Spanish, and sent me to my dad’s parents as a kid, and they taught me Spanish there.

“No estoy contento con tus mentiras.~” (I’m not happy with your lies) I walk over to him, and kissed his cheek.

“Pero te amo de todos modos~.” (But I love you anyways) He wrapped his arms around me and brought me in for a kiss. I kissed back with just as much of excitement and passion as him.

“How?” He asks me. I giggle and pull him to a chair.

“My dad. He was hispanic, but he died, so I was sent to my grandparents’ house a lot, so they taught me.” Sonic nodded, and pulled me into his lap, which was kind of awkward, because, I wasn’t exactly wearing...much...under that skirt.

“I didn’t want to tell you, but of course you found out yourself. If you want to break up with me, I won’t allow you to-”

“I’m not going to break up with you. I don’t care what your job is, I only care about it if it brings you happiness.” I interrupted him. “Besides, you should know that I find this romantic~.” Sonic looked puzzled at my statement.

“What do you mean?” I narrow my eyes at him.

“Have you really never noticed all the romance novels I have in my room? You go in there a lot, I’m surprised you haven’t seen how I have a full shelf dedicated to mafia romances.” I say, nuzzling into his chest. I felt something something sticking out from between my legs. I jump off of him immediately and throw myself onto the floor.

“What the hell was that!?” He questioned my actions.

“I felt something between my legs! What do mean ‘What the hell was that! WAIT, DON’T TELL ME IT WAS-” I screamed out in disgust. IT WAS A BONER, HE WAS BEING TURNED ON.

“You accepting my job is very sexy and I love how you easily accepted that.” He said, putting a hand to my thigh. I rolled my eyes.

“You can get all of this for the price of only one ring~” My statement probably excited him, because before I knew it, he was on kneeling on one of his knees and took out a velvet box.

“I know your answer is ‘yes,’ but I still want to hear it come out of your lips in excitement. Amelia Rosette, will you do the honor of marrying me and fulfill the romance you’ve always dreamed of?” OH MY FRICKING CHAOS IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING-

“YES! YES, SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, YES! I WILL MARRY YOU!” I threw myself into his arms and he immediately embraced me, before pulling away and putting the jade encrusted gold ruby ring. He leaned in for a kiss, which I happily accepted.

After all, I got the romance I’ve dreamed of~

My Favorite Ships

I’m going to tell you my favorite ships 😋

Youtubers

1. H2OVanoss - I love this ship just cause Evan and Jon act like they are in either a long distance relationship or they are married and we don’t know it yet, my favorite moment is when Evan says 'if we get out here alive, will you kiss me?'.

2. Terrormoo/Terrorsnuckel - I love this ship cause Brock and Brian are adorable with Brian making Brock laugh and Brock teasing Brian, my favorite moment is when Brian helps Brock get to the hole in golf and he wasn’t even mad about it.

3. Ohmtoonz - I love this ship cause these 2 act like they are lovesick for each other, they tease each other, they say 'i love you' on multiple occasions and they want to live with each other, my favorite moment is when Luke says to Ohm 'ohm, i love you' and ohm was suprised.

4. Sonamy - I love this ship cause Sonic and Amy were made for each other, they’ve gotten better recently with the relationship ever since either sonic boom or the sonic comic made by IDW anyway its a cute ship and i hope it get official in the future.

5. Zelink - I love this ship cause its really cute and zelda and link need to be official already, like mario and peach these 2 are always confused everyone going 'are they in a relationship or aren’t they?' and this isn’t about the ship but i want to say that the all zelda games in my opinion are all different AU of each other and not in a timeline since i don’t like the timeline.

6. Amourshipping - I love this ship cause OMG ash and serena make a adorable couple, i don’t mind ash and misty but ash and serena made me love the XYZ series cause of them 2, love the fan art and need more fanfics of them thought but other then that i love it, my oblivious moment is the kiss at the end of the series and i hope when they bring serena back in the future ash kisses her back, confess their love for each other and then the entire pokemon anime ends.

7. Rocketshipping - I love this ship cause jessie and james were meant to be together, jessie is always wanting to be in love with someone and james cares about jessie deeply, also a lot of fan art got me into the ship and we need more fanfics of them.

8. Dekuchako - I love this ship cause i love how cute both midoiya and uraraka are, everytime i think of my hero academia these 2 and shoto always pop in my head and i hope in the future these 2 become an official couple.

9. Sherlolly - I love this ship cause sherlock need a girl like molly, molly and sherlock always find different people in the show but they always end up back together and i wish they were a thing, also i see sherlock and john like either brothers or john is sherlock's support person like a support dog.

10. Sportarobbie - I love this ship cause these 2...just these 2, Robbie was just trying to get sportacus' attention and it sometimes worked and sportacus doesn’t mind robbie at all.

11. Flutterpie/Pinkieshy - I love this ship cause i really want more of it, i love pinkie pie and fluttershy and i want an whole episode of them together, they are also a cute ship too with a happy pinkie with a timid fluttershy and to me that’s adorable, also more fanfics, this ship need more fanfics.

Shelma and Fraphne - I love this ship cause they go well together, shaggy and velma are pretty cute together with shaggy taking care of velma when she in danger or she loses her glasses while velma is trying to help shaggy not be so scared and show she’s there for him, fred and daphne are also cute with them being cute, being jealous of each other when they are with another man/woman and you can tell they are in love with each other.

13. Specialshipping (Red x Yellow) - I like this ship cause it’s cute, i was looking for ships one day and i bumped into this one, the ship was adorable and i wish yellow was in the games so red could have a love interest like was blue is to green.

Ken Penders and how his misinformed view of how monarchies work ruined not only what could have been a good au story but also Sonally

*profanity warning*

Now, just to preface as you may have gathered from my current icon and some of my art, I primarily ship Sonamy, however that does not mean that I hate Sally or Sonally, as a matter of fact I really like Sally as a character, she subverts some of the typical princess tropes (which I’ll get to later) and her relationship with Sonic, especially in SatAm is really fun to watch, they bounce off of each other so well.

Now, as you are probably aware in the Archie sonic comics there was this side story of sorts written by Ken Penders called Mobius:25 years later which portrayed our cast of freedom fighters as adults, married with kids. One of the most notable examples was how Sonic marries Sally, they have kids called Sonia and Manik (which I’ll concede is a nice little reference to Sonic Underground) and the two of them now reign as King and Queen.

But…This is not how royalty works. For you see, in no monarchy system would marrying a queen (or princess in line for the throne) make you a king, or at least it would not make you a reigning king like how sonic is portrayed in these stories. Let me explain. You know Queen Elizabeth II? Queen of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Commonwealth, etc?

Well she has a husband, Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh.

But wait, I hear you say, Prince? According to Penders logic he should be the King of England!

Well you see, that’s not how it works, there are two types of kings/queens, regnant and consorts. Regnants are those who are born into a position of power, they inherit the throne through blood and when they become King/Queen they will rule. Sally is an example of a Queen regnant (or at least she will be when she takes the throne) as she is the daughter of King Acorn and the next in line to the throne. Some real-life examples would be Queen Elizabeth the first, Queen Victoria and the aforementioned Queen Lizzy

(apologies for using only British examples, I live in the UK so it’s what I’m familiar with)

Now getting onto Consorts, you may have heard the term used in the comics before as I believe Sonic is at one time referred to as Sally’s “royal consort” A consort is someone who marries into a royal family( whether they be a commoner or from another royal family) and in the case of a consort who marries a regnant, traditionally their role is to provide heirs for the regnant so as to continue the bloodline however they do not rule the kingdom; you can get queen consorts, real-life example the Queen Mum,

and prince-consorts, sometimes but rarely referred to as King-consorts but I’ll get to that later. This is what Prince Philip is and what Sonic should be in M:25yl and its related stories.

Now, you might argue that Ken Penders knows what he’s doing and simply decided to call Sonic king-consort rather than prince-consort but do you really think Penders is that smart? Of fucking course not. King Sonic makes decisions regarding his kingdom and Mobius, hell, a significant part of the original M:25yl arch was Sonic’s mid-life crisis (there’s a term I thought I’d never have to type out) over the fact that he’s stuck doing diplomatic shit and running a goddamn kingdom! Sally should be doing all this shit!

But what exactly is Sally actually doing? Playing “Desperate housewives of Mobius” with Julie-Su.

Having pool parties and sleepovers and gossiping with the other women of this timeline “oh haha can you believe our husbands”

NO! Just fucking no! What in the flying fuck happened to my badass rebel leader Sally? Like I get that for the most part this timeline is peaceful but when shit starts going down she just lets Sonic “act first and think later” the Hedgehog deal with it?

Hell, even in the slightly better story Mobius:30 years later when she wants to help when a crisis is happening she’s just told to sit in the panic room and a kiss is all it takes for her to go along with this. Fuuuuucckkk.

And this is where everything starts falling apart. If for once we agree with Penders and view Mobius as a world where the royal consort can rule and has to make these important decisions, why would Sonic marry Sally?. I mean, sure for love and all that, but I cant help but think back to issue #134; yes, THAT one, “The Slap”

And look, I’m not going to go too deep into this, that’s not the focus here, and I certainly don’t think Sally is the world’s biggest bitch for this moment but… I understand why Sonic hesitated. He’s a free spirit, he likes being able to do whatever the heck he wants (within reason of course), its why there’s a hurdle with even my favourite pairing, Sonamy; Amy wants marriage and commitment, Sonic wants freedom and not being tied down, It’s the same with Sonally, Sonic never truly feels ready for adult responsibilities like that. It’s a shame, really because I genuinely enjoy the chemistry between Sonic and Sally but it just cant really work in the long term in this messed up world Penders has created.

Which is why I’ve thought up of some alternatives First: Sally decides to fuck the monarchy and becomes a full-time freedom fighter. Ok, let me explain. Pre-super Genesis Wave King Max Acorn is an abusive dickhead (Nigel is cool though)

At one point he gives Sally the option of taking Antione as her consort, or he’ll disown her…okay what the hell. I could go into this subject more but plenty of other tumblr users have covered this so I digress. But I would’ve liked Sally to perhaps have chosen the disown option, to have chosen Sonic and the other freedom fighters. I dunno maybe some would consider it too OOC? Sally is very responsible and is the sort that does whats best for her subjects rather than herself. So here’s option two:

Mobius:25 years later done right, AKA Sonic is an actual fucking consort. Right, imagine this, Sally as a badass queen who gets shit done. Slumber parties? Skype gossip sessions? She ain’t got time for that, bitch gotta country to run. And Sonic? Well Prince Consort Sonic’s duties are to look after the kids and occasionally smile and wave for the cameras and you know what this isn’t a demeaning thing!

Remember Princess Diana, she was a consort and she did all sorts of charity work, going to an active mine field, shaking the hand of an AIDS victim,and a shit ton of other amazing things. Imagine the impact of the Hero of Mobius doing stuff like that, Sonic could spend time working on issues he cares about but without the pressure of running a flipping country. It would present a nice side to Sonic, and still, he’s Sonic, he can still kick ass if you need an actual non slice of life plot.

I might do stuff related to this in the future but who knows? These are my thoughts anyways.
