Sis dropped by Feng Food (台湾味 “丰”) at Northpoint City to pack home lunches for us. As per the usual, mum went for the Guan Miao Mian with Specially Marinated Pork Chop (猪排关庙面) while I took the Shrimp & Kimchi Fried Rice (虾仁泡菜炒饭). The fried rice might look very spicy to you due to the orangey colour but trust me, it is not. Overall, it is only mildly spicy with a sweetish note coupled fresh crunchy prawns and an over easy egg.

Yannick Dupont
He/Him Breton Mid-20's
Birthsign: The Thief
Primary Attributes: Strength and Speed
Primary Skills: Acrobatics, Alchemy, Alteration, Athletics, Destruction, Hand-to-Hand, Mysticism
Secondary Skills: Light Armor, Stealth
Titles: Archmage of the Arcane University, The Grey Fox, Duke of Mania
Herbalist and part-time courier originally from the city of Northpoint. He grew up with his cousin Elise after his mother moved the families together after the disappearance of his father.
Bright, athletic, and talented in his own right, he could have easily found success in his kinsmen's questing culture. However, his easygoing demeanor and lack of ambition kept him out of the spotlight.
His move to Cyrodiil was the result of the most recent badgering from Elise to stop wasting his talent. The recent changes to advancement requirements in the Mages Guild chapters of the province gave him an opportunity to test his skills in a more competitive environment while still going at his own pace.
While his troubled relationship with death (and fear of the undead) meant his involvement in the dangerous work Elise threw herself into would be minimal, having to bail her out of prison for her many atrocities made him realize he may need to be more proactive after all.
Bonus art and comments after the break
Tumblr media
Absolutely does not look like this in-game but that doesn't stop me lol
Y'know maybe I underestimated how much info I wanted to put on these going in lol
Anyways, fun fact! Technically, Yannick is the most recent incarnation of my very first TES character! (my attempts at Arena before my copy of Oblivion GOTY arrived don't count) He's just a composite between that and another character I created to play through the Thieves Guild/was basically just the Oblivion version of Duster from Mother 3.

A while ago, I made a post asking what city or town in Tamriel people felt like was “theirs.” I wasn’t expecting it to get as much attention as it did, but it got over 1000 notes, with almost 600 of those being reblogs! Now, being the nerd I am, I felt like I had actually collected a pretty sizable amount of data, and I think data is interesting, so I went ahead and compiled it! This is based on the tags, comments, and reblogs of that post. I did my best to compile everything, including misspellings and odd fonts/typing styles, but I may not have caught every single thing. Overall, though, this should be very representative of the information from that post.
Without further ado, here are Tesblr’s favorite cities:
Tumblr media
Riften had an overwhelming majority, being 93 people’s home city. This was 28 more than second place, Falkreath at 65.
After Falkreath, Whiterun, Anvil, Balmora, and Cheydinhal were very close, from 64-59 votes each.
Markarth, Solitude, and Skingrad were the next group, from 53-40 votes each.
The rest of the cities that had votes in the double digits, in descending order were Bruma, Bravil, Daggerfall, Riverwood, Morthal, Rimmen, Leyawiin, Chorrol, Alinor, Imperial City, Winterhold, Windhelm, Vivec, Raven Rock, Dawnstar, and Sadrith Mora, ranging from 24-11 votes each.
Funnily enough, many comments about Markarth mentioned it being an unpopular opinion, despite it coming in at 7th place overall.
6 people each voted for Solsteim, Rivenspire, and Cyrodiil, which are notably not cities.
The most commonly misspelled city was Leyawiin, with 5 alternate spellings in the notes.
Interestingly, two people voted for Helgen, and both of them misspelled it as “Helgan.” (I also wonder how much Elder Scrolls you’ve played if your favorite city is Helgen? But I digress x3).
Under the cut I will leave the rest of the cities that got votes in the single digits! How did your favorite city stack up? Is it rare? Were you surprised by these results?

Auto supplier plant coming to former Eastland Center mall site
Tumblr media
By Kurt Nagle I November 3, 2023  I  Crain’s Detroit
Automotive supplier Thai Summit Corp. is planning to open a 297,000-square-foot parts plant at the redeveloped site formerly home to Eastland Center mall in Harper Woods.
The Thailand-based company, which has a massive plant in Howell, signed a seven-year lease for the first of three new buildings being constructed by Riverside, Mo.-based NorthPoint Development LLC at 18000 Vernier near I-94 said Mark Koenigsknecht, senior development manager at NorthPoint.
The plant is expected to house light industrial manufacturing and assembly by the supplier, which specializes in metal stamping, value-added assembly and tool-and-die building. A 4,000- to 5,000-square-foot office will also be built out in the space, Koenigsknecht said.
Welcoming a large supplier plant will be a first for the city of Harper Woods and will hopefully mark a new beginning, said John Szymanski, city manager.
"We're excited. It's been a long time since the city had any real redevelopment coming in," he said. "We've been a city that has survived on retail, and that has gone away."
Production launch at the plant is expected in the first quarter of next year. It is not clear how many jobs will be created or what will be invested in buildout. The company could not be reached for comment.
The $94 million redevelopment project for Eastland Commerce Center started in mid-2022 after NorthPoint was given the go- ahead to level the mall, which opened in 1957 and suffered a steep decline and loss of anchor stores in its final years.
After falling into foreclosure in 2016, the mall was sold to Great Neck, N.Y.-based Kohan Retail Investment Group and 4th Dimension Properties LLC, which paid just $3.125 million for a large chunk of the mall in 2018.
Thai Summit operates a 1.2 million-square-foot plant off I-96 in Livingston County to support North American automotive production. The company supplies major class A stamping and assembly components to OEMs around the world, according to its website. "The Howell facility is the first manufacturer in North America to introduce remote laser welding and utilize entire surface imaging for timely communication with customer," it says.
The Eastland Commerce Center is composed of three industrial buildings spanning about 1 million square feet and is anticipated to be done by mid-2024. Koenigsknecht said there has been high interest in the other two buildings but no deals signed yet. He said he expects an uptick in leasing activity in the final part of the year following the United Auto Workers strike, which put lots of deals on ice.
"I'm hoping with the automotive stuff leveling out as far as the strike goes, we'll see a lot more activity here before the end of the year."

Yishun Revengers Episode 2 "The Orange Luat"
"Well, you ask why we stay in this horrendous neighbourhood? That has to do with our identities-you see, we are actually the six pillars of total defence, I'm Fentanyl, Psychological, that's Mendax, Digital, Sunda, Economic, Laju, Social, Sicarius, Civil, and Pertama, Military." The man in black eent around doing a self-introduction and everyone-else-introduction.
"Then what about those rabbit furries and that plain-looking guy?" Stefen asked.
"That big rabbit in yellow is Codeine, the plain-looking one is August, and I forgot the other two..." Fentanyl replied not-so embarrassingly.
"Anyway. Back to the topic. I'll tell you one story we all know happened...
One day the others and I were walking back home, enjoying ice kachang on a hot day, when suddenly, we heard a loud noise! A loud, thunderous, resounding, banging noise!
So we all, instinctively, looked up to the sky, and, to our horror, saw a whole plane going haywire and about to crash into the Northpoint City building, and, of course, in the pilot seat of the plane, there was some idiot sec 1 boy from HIHS, *the boy from just now looks away sheepishly*
So of course, seeing such an imminent threat, we rushed to stop the plane, and just in time, used our powers to prevent it from crashing, ahaha, look at us, such model citizens, huh? Ahhahaah,"
"Yeah, but what are they doing, anyway? They're not pillars, right?" Stefen pointed to Codeine and August, posing the question.
"They're our disciples. We're training them to learn our skills so we can relax while they do all the hard work for us, " The one named Sunda casually explained it.
Well, those non-pillars don't look too annoyed with what he said either...do they owe them some kind of debt?
Just while Stefen was deep in thought, the kid from before who ignored him rudely tapped on his shoulder from behind, and offered to finish the explanation for Fentanyl now.
Stefen positioned the camera, then "ACTIONED" him.
"Well, so you see, exactly because such dangerous activities happen at this cursed town of Yishun, so our beloved heroes the Pillars have to stay in Yishun in order to defend this weak part of our country!"
Just as the boy finished the speech, he ran right into the arms of a grown woman Stefen barely knew existed behind them, shouting loudly, "SEE LAH CHER, I AM KIEFER LEH, I GOT STUDY ONE LAH NOT ALWAYS DRIVING PLANES INTO BUILDINGS ONE!" and then running away while the grown woman chases him.
"So...yeah, there's that, you've got your reasoning, can leave us alone now?" Sunda impatiently remarked.
Stefen finished recording and wrapping up the last tracks, then replied with a cute UWU wink. (that was not cute and uwu)
Uh oh, looks like my man is already starting under the influence of the curse of Yishun...
