Just passed another tiktok video of an anti
Cosplaying motherfucking Gamzee Makara
Whining about the existence of proshippers/comshippers.
Babe.
Babe do you uh.
...you don't even know the character you're cosplaying.
I daresay they don't know zilch about homestuck tbh because like...
Yikes.
Anyways I've been seeing more and more homestuck antis and I rate it a 0/10 are y'all even reading the source material?

I don't know if this is related to antis or not but I hate it when people think if somone animates or writes something gross like inc3st or z00phil4 for example, that means they're okay with it or are a z00phil3 themselves. I guess the South Park creators are p3dos then.
Yeah! This is something Antis do a lot. They tend to relate fictional content A LOT with their creator, which is something I (as an Arts student) have even been taught myself in school. Everything you create has to reflect, or is going to reflect, who or what you are as a person. And it's so dumb!
I honestly don't get why this is a thing? If people were to police everything in fiction to make it "healthy" or "realistic", we'd literally have nothing. Either that or it'd be boring as fuck.
A video I watched on YouTube once described this as "anime ignorance", tho it could be "media ignorance" in general. Which means, we all want to be a little bit ignorant sometimes when consuming media.
We know violence doesn't solve any conflict, but when we're watching actions movies, we love seeing the good guys beating the bad guys up because to us, it's therapeutic. We love characters being imperfect and sometimes fuck things up bad, because then they overcome that ignorance and become better people. Erasing that from fiction means erasing all that makes it compelling.

If I see one more "fixing proship art" post on tiktok I'm going to scream. All you're doing is suddenly shoving a ship I'm uncomfortable with in my face, stealing someone's art without credit and then doodling all over it for no reason other than you find it "disgusting".

People seem to have forgotten that "proship" was the Fandom norm for the longest time.
Only, it wasn't called proship. It was called ship and let ship. Or minding your own buisness.
If someone had a ship you didn't like or thought was gross, you would avoid them. If they drew art or wrote stories you didn't agree with or like, you would ignore them.
There were tags like smut, whump, and angst to tell people about things they might not want to read. And then dead dove: do not eat for taboo subjects and especially gritty fic.
Then people started to ignore that. Younger fans started to bully people because they disagreed with shipping certain characters. Whether it be because it "wasn't canon", they thought it was gross, or they just didn't like it.
These people began calling themselves "anti-ship"
Pro-ship became a label to show that someone was against anti-ship.
Eventually, the anti-ship movement began to die down. So do you know what they did? They started accusing people. Of being pedophiles, groomers, rape supporters, and more. All because they wrote or drew things that these people didn't like.
They began claiming that THEY were the Fandom norm, and that these "proshippers" were the bad people. They started claiming that proship stood for "problematic shipping"
Due to this, the term "pro-ship" is often misconstrued as to what it means. Many people don't even KNOW what it means.
It means "anti-censorship".
It means that we support someone's right to produce art, no matter how gross, no matter how taboo, no matter how "problematic"
Because it's not hurting anyone.
If it's something you don't want to see? Block the person. Block the tag. Say in your bio that you don't like it. That's what they're FOR!
This was discussed in earlier days of fandom.
"I wonder why people would read a story in a genre they don't care for, then take the time to let the writer know that sure enough, they didn't care for it. That would be like me going to a restaurant, ordering a slice of cherry pie, then asking that the chef be brought out so I can say "I don't like cherry pie, and I didn't like yours either." To continue this analogy into its usual fannish outcome, the chef would say "Well gee, lady, why did you order it?" And I'd say, "Are you questioning my right to order cherry pie?"
-Unknown 2002
Except now, it would be like the person who didn't like the cherry pie and ordered it anyways then demanded that no restaurant serve cherry pie because it was poison. Not only is it a ridiculous request, it's blatantly untrue.

A common complaint I've seen about the proship community is that we don't take callouts seriously enough. Which, understandable!
But my 2 cents is that when "this user is an actual child predator", "this user ships minor/adult ships" and "this user is against harassing people over minor/adult ships" are treated with the same amount of severity, it is genuinely difficult to determine if someone is an actual threat to others.
If I see a callout post with evidence that could easily be doctored, or no evidence, its easy to assume that antis are making it up to ruin lives, considering the batshit insane shit antis send me on the reg.

everytime I see antis call themselves punk I lose hope in the internet again
I don't know how to say this but policing people's right to create and consume any fiction they want AND advocating for the corporal punishment of "thought criminals" cannot and will not ever be punk. shut up

"im sorry to tell you but this is unfortunately fetish art :( " you’re a coward and a fool. tell me what about eroticism makes it lose value as a piece of art. tell me in what way is lust a less worthy feeling to be depicted in art than anger or joy or sadness or any other human emotion. why did you like it before and why do you not like it now? what changed? why does it upset you? what makes it bad now, what makes it gross, what makes it wrong? do you reject what you dont understand? do you let your gut reaction dictate what you deem bad? what you deem immoral? whats allowed to exist and what isnt?

"You don't debate with people about transphobia or racism because making it a debate implies it's even something that needs to be considered from "the other side" at all" This is absolutely the wrong idea, we debate these ideas because things need to be spoken about to be understood by people. Its scary to think ANYTHING is objective truth.

It's so funny when Antis start spewing shit like "you don't care about the victims", "you'd never do this in the first place if you were against (x) and (y)", "you're disgusting for even thinking about this".
Like I have... Nothing to prove to you? Literally. Like you don't know me, you aren't my friend, you ain't inside my brain? You don't know how much I care or not care? You can't deduce that from someone's feed. You can't guess someone's life experiences from the content they consume or create.

hey do you guys remember when like. brother/brother and sister/sister and brother/sister ships werent just normal, they were really common? parent/child ships werent as widespread as sibling ships but you still saw both of them a lot. like you used to see incest ships all the fucking time.
like you couldnt go five minutes on this hellsite without scrolling past wincest or thorki or any number of the dozens of popular hp incest ships. do people not remember the onecest takeover? the onecest dynasty? what about elsanna? what about all the fontcest that came out of the undertale fandom? mha fans loved shipping the entire todoroki family together. what about game of thrones just in general? the hitachiin twincest? literally everyone from osomatsu-san? usuk and all the other incest ships from hetalia? fucking HOMESTUCK?
it used to be that you couldnt throw a rock in ANY fandom without hitting a whole bunch of super popular incest ships. it was everywhere. it was NORMAL. because people didnt care about what anyone else liked in fiction, because everyone knew the difference between fantasy and reality. and its not like incest hasnt been one of the most popular porn categories all over the world for years.
now though, with the huge resurgence of evangelical puritanism in western fandom and the massive influx of alt-right christofascist antishippers, nothing is allowed to just be fiction any more. braindead little conservative assholes and bigots will scream and shit themselves over people shipping the elric brothers because fandom isnt allowed to be fun any more. antis will see someone talking about sebaciel and start spewing their disgusting rhetoric at everyone and being TERFS and wannabe cops until nobody wants to participate in fandom any more.
fandoms are dying and its antis fault

Ao3 authors, please learn to not insult people and be “morally superior” in the tags
Instead of tagging “noncon is gross” or “not noncon because that’s problematic”, for example, just put “enthusiastic consent” or “consensual sex” in the tags. It makes things a whole lot easier for people to filter and know what’s going on.
I really don’t care that you think noncon fics are bad or whatever, I (and many others) will be more likely to read your fic about two boys who are deeply in love if you aren’t an ass about your morals in fiction :/
