Haikyuu fanfic recs: a random assortment

Ah, well I didn’t mean to make this. But then. Yeah anyway, it’s basically a sht post LOL. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of random fics I’m throwing together cause I need to sort myself out LOL. Summaries are short so I can get this out, but in the future, they’ll most likely get longer ones. This’ll be your April fools post cause I’m just foolin’ around.

you, clouds, rain. by auvelli (T) 3.5k /SakuAtsu/ non linear and it’s really good! It’s written really beautifully :’) Like it executes the plot line super well, and the ending was just UGH yes.

Like not a lotta mafia stuff (though I can only imagine Atsumu face when he was threatening that person was hot asf), but BIG RELATIONSHIP TINGS RIGHT HERE <33333 This one is Omi POV, and I gotta admit, and this is random, but reading Atsumu say Sakusa instead of Omi made me feel weird. my hate for spiders is stronger than my hate for you by hqdorks (M) 12.6k /KuroKen/ have I recommended this yet? idk but now I have :) Some weird KuroKen but it’s a fun time and ew spiders. Also heated pokemon go discussion,,,, CHECK TAGS AND WARNINGS cause SMUT.

tea leaves and spice (girls) by Ellessey (series) 24.6k /KuroKen/ another idr if I recommended yet or not, but here it is. Just some defining relationships, platonic KenHina, some not so platonic KageHina, and SMUT at the end. So check TAGS AND WARNINGS.

I Choose You by TripsH (T) 9.3k /IwaOi/ a good AU verse :D I like this one and it’s a no communication one as well LOL. Pretty famous/popular IwaOi fic, idk why I haven’t recommended it yet considering the fact that I did like it,,, hmm.

Moral Ambiguity by DeathBelle (E) 16.7k /IwaOi/ some k*lling but it’s not super explicit (for the most part). Interesting AU, written very well, do I approve of m*rder? Of course not, but my disapproval for ab*se is also,,, very strong. This is a big TAGS AND WARNINGS fic so pls be safe!

mint by tothemoon (T) 18.9k /IwaOi/ another really well loved fic (for good reason) that made me surprised to know I haven’t recommended it yet,,, It’s written super well, and the plot is a lot of fun!

Hanamaki Disease by ArcticLights (T) 1.9k /IwaOi/ like the eyyy fic but with memes LOL. It’s also only Oikawa and it’s got some old memes, but they’re good ones so I accept.

Setting them straight and saying that if they can take on the freak duo that happened to attempt to take down not only Dateko, Seijoh, and Shiratorizawa, then they might as well try to come back to school, defeated as well

You say at least Tsutomu was able to play against them, playing proudly as the upcoming ace and knowing at least some of their tactics

Sitting down with a huff, you nonchalantly continue to tutor him

He sits there, starry eyes wide, mouth agape, and a pink flush on his face to the tips of his ears

Tilting your head, cutely, I daresay, you ask him if he’s alright

Dating Kunimi Headcanons

A/n: I know I post a lot of these, it’s because I have a pile of them in my drafts... I hope you don’t mind.

Hello comfort character #26

He wouldn’t be the type to date anyone he didn’t know before, which is why he never dated. He’s known you since he was at Kitagawa Daiichi, he just never really interacted with you as much as he does now.

Let’s say for my sake and dreams, you’re the manager of the volleyball club at seijoh.

This is where he finally realised he liked you, He started to think you were attractive during third year of junior high but when he didn’t like the way Yahaba looked at you he started to get defensive.

He won’t be obvious with it, not at all. Well, at least in his eyes, Kindaichi too mans doesn’t understand why Kunimi is suddenly glaring at Yahaba who’s talking to you.

Seijoh 4 notices it, sees that you tend to stray beside Kunimi all the time, but they never just decided it was because you knew him the longest. Iwaizumi doesn’t involve himself in it, it's not his business. (probably roots on the inside.)

Like Kenma, his first kiss with you would be a “heat of the moment” kiss. Probably after they won against Karasuno, he’d walk up to you and just kiss you. (pulls away after kindaichi screams.)

Seijoh 3 (4) got dejected because they wanted to be the ones who got you two together.

He’s only intimate in private, like Kita he believes anything affectionate should be done when you two are alone!

But in one instance where Yahaba was flirting with you, as he does, he will wrap his arms around your waist and hug you from behind. (Kyotani will be laughing at Yahaba!!)

His love language is physical touch and words of affirmation, believe it or not! He needs to feel that you’re there with him, both physically and mentally.

I believe in onesie Kunimi supremacy! His mom probably got him like an Eeyore one because she thought it fit his behavior. (um okay.)

Please wear his jersey! He will want to make out with you so bad! But he just looks like this 😐 The entire time so beware when you kiss him when wearing his jersey, he won’t hold back. (not like that ya nasty.)

He works a lot on volleyball when he’s home. So if you ever come over expect him to be doing something involving volleyball. He’ll let you nap in his bed and when he’s finished and has showered he’ll climb in next to you and bring you to his chest.

Usually prefers at home dates, he’s lazy when it comes to that thing. His older sister scolds him for not taking you out on a “proper” date. Flicks her off, tells her he loves her then slams the door in her face. (no this is not from personal experience.)

He doesn’t date just to date, he does plan on marrying you when you two are older and have stable jobs. (timeskip kunimi with blue hair tint please hit my line.)

he would probably play setter

yea he's short but this mf is a FROG

thus, his nickname 'date tech's mighty frog'

he can jump really high and slap that ball with top notch strength

date tech's no touch ace !

this teammates would ruffle his hair whenever he gets a point for them (he likes it very much)

is scared of aone but they both get along just fine

example: joong bought aone a teddy bear sweater for his birthday and aone instantly hugged joong for a straight minute

kenji would probably act like his big brother during matches being like "im so proud of him" or "i taught him that!" since him and joong had been friends for a long time

SEONGHWA — SHIRATORIZAWA

he honestly just wanted to join the team bcs he liked the uniforms but after a while he started to like the sport

he's a setter, a good one at that

his arm strength gives him the opportunity to do a powerful serve

this man never skips leg day either-

his nickname would be 'mr. sunshine' because of his very pretty smile

seonghwa would be somewhat a mix of tendou and semi

a little bit chaotic when with the people he trust, but collected and a bit serious with others

he gives positive reactions to tendou's jokes or puns even if they were bad

tendou and him are the power pair, both in and out of the match

ushjimai would learn to be slightly more unhinged from both of their incfluences

seonghwa would also later on introduce ushijima and they would match their outfits a lot

YUNHO — INARIZAKI

he joined because he wanted to try something different other than his regular sport

a middle blocker with suna and ren! (oo supremacy oo)

the three of them,, really are something else

the middle blocker players would be dubbed 'triple threat'

yunho is seen as a threat to the other teams whenever inarizaki played a match

he's calmest of the team but nonetheless still be a whole ass nerd behind the scenes

him and atsumu had been friends since middle school, needless to say osamu will always be there to tone down the chaos

he literally is the teammate who's mum would make snacks for the whole team during matches

his mum is inarizaki's mum and she treats everyone as her own child

honestly had a big fat crush on osamu and so she referred to osamu once accidentally using "yunho's precious onigiri"

osamu: oh?

YEOSANG — FUKURODANI

this man LOVES the heck out of the school, not sure why but he really does

after all, that's where he met his bestest friends

he would be a libero hehe aka komi's partner in crime

he's one of the top liberos of japan too smirks

konoha's best friend forever

they both annoy the shit out of each other but what is anime without a bickering friends trope

whenever the team wins a match, he would treat them for a meal at the local restaurant

he's quiet around them but they never fail to make him smile or laugh

akaashi and him are the pro strategists of the team

they could make out a solution to their problem on the court in just a few seconds as the balls are passed around

that's pretty hot ngl

SAN — NEKOMA

san literally is a cat except for his physical form

he's a outside hitter and is nicknamed 'neko-san'

its because he can move swiftly and send the ball right back to the opposed team

the other nekoma teammates like him very much, especially kai

their friendship is basically chaotic x calm, with san being the chaotic one of course

but they get along very well, some describe them like the sun and the moon (different people but similar motives/personalities)

he and kenma would stay up at night playing video games with each other and ofc kai and kuroo would be hearing them through the team's discord server vc

the team would often go over to his house just to play with byeol <3 and hang

yaku has a secret crush on san's older sister LMAO

MINGI — KARASUNO

he joined because tanaka begged him (even bribed him with banana milk)

well it worked because he's karasuno's starlight

middle blocker mingi coming your way !!

he's narita's best friend, ever since elementary school

he's tall but his jumping skills make him a whole GIANT, which goes the same for his arms too

tsukki and him actually get along, which was weird at first but everyone just accepted it

he helps the others with their studies as he's an A+ student

he helps others with comforting them as well, seeing as he is there whenever someone needs a shoulder to cry on

he's actually dating watabe from the girl's team and they are vvv cute together

they sometimes practice volleyball together as well,,, ah what a couple

WOOYOUNG — SEIJOH

the only person who joined because he actually loves volleyball

he is a setter and no one can tell me different

he's close to the third years even though he's a year younger

loves to make fun of oikawa with iwaizumi during practices

though oikawa likes this junior of his very much

he's called "seijoh's medicine" because he could clear up the tension between his teammates even if it was high

thoughts on most underrated hq characters

TANAKAAAAAAAAAA he has been there with kags and hinata since the BEGINNING waking up at like 3am so they could practice together for the 3 vs 3 match for a whole week and he wasn’t even forced to do so he did it because he wanted to help them. he is always dismissed not only by the fandom but also by other teams because they always focus on hinata and asahi instead of him since they see him as reckless or not as good but WHO DID THAT SEXY CROSS SHOT ON INARIZAKI VS KARASUNO HUH??????? also he is the first person that scores against shiratorizawa so he is definitely which was a moment of great joy for everyone. the second season ova adds more depth to him asking saeko to take hinata and kags to tokyo for camp because he knew how much it meant for them and the team for them to be there. ukai always says that he is the moodbringer of the team to the point oikawa even targets him (but so does every other team) during seijoh 1 since he saw tanaka becoming depressed as the first thing to do for karasuno’s downfall. also he had THEE kanoka amanai fell in love with him and scored kiyoko post timeskip so he is definitely the best man out there we love you baldy <3

TAKEDA the fandom acts like he doesn’t exist outside of ukatake WITH luck but he is so important!!! karasuno wouldn’t be the team that it is without him like literally not. he is the one who organized that first practice match with seijoh, he is the reason the nekoma practice match happened in the first place AND ukai became the coach of the team, he along nekomata are the reason karasuno went to the tokyo camp in the first place which is the entire reason the won the spring high etc etc. he has been rooting for them from the beginning and unlike the old teacher (the one they had when the third years were freshmen) he did everything in his power and more to make sure karasuno could flourish. also he gets 10000 bonus points for giving my favorite speech in the entire series if you know you know 💔

kyotani was out here scoring spike after spike during seijoh 2 and YET the fandom pretends he does not exist to the point sen took his canon url without even having to ask for it it was free to take just like that 😭 literally after oikawa he is the one that did the most for the team on that match and yet he gets no love in the fandom for pushing kindaichi that one time???? or hanamaki????? anyways hanamaki deserved it but seijoh stans pair him up with mattsun so ig he gets the privilege of being defended -_- anyways kyotani supremacy

YESSS I was freaking out when I saw those extra panels!! especially the ones in the last chapter 😭 and yeah tbh it's been a while since I've rewatched s1-3 but I remember being really impressed with the animation and like s4 has had it's moments where like some shots are really great but there have def also been parts that have been rough lmao though I never know if I think that b/c I'm giffing s4 as it airs and I'm just paying more attention to that or if it's actually gotten worse lol (1/3)

I'm hoping b/c nekoma is one of the main rival teams and we know them so well by this point that they'll come through for us on that one but I guess we'll have to wait and see lmao and YES FINAL BOSS OIKAWA I legit screamed when I read that part I was joking before the chapter got released like "here's how oikawa can still win" but then furudate came through for us 😭 and yes I already liked akaashi by that match but when he like broke down and screamed I was like oh yeah. we LOVE this kid (2/3)

s1-3 were so goooood like really! the animation was x10 better hands down. s4 just feels so lazy to me plus they’re taking out a lot of the commentary from other people like that volleyball couple, seijoh and goshiki/tendou which i guess doesn’t matter but it’s just really interesting to see what other people have to say about the match. and it’s definitely rough!! that’s why i haven’t really had the urge to edit/gif the episodes as they air. maybe i’ll want to when the whole season airs and there’s more to work with!
