conti cup celebrations | like mother, like daughter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: the day of the conti cup is exciting for young reader.
Pairings: katie mccabe x child reader
Tumblr media
"Mammy, Mammy, wake up!" You squeal in excitement, crawling up onto the bed as you make it your mission to wake her up, "Wake up, it's game day!"
You were smart to know that today is a very special game day, the final game in a tournament between your mammy's team and their rivals, Chelsea, but it was exciting because it meant your mammy's team was in within the chance to win the big cup, just like they did last year.
And what's even better this year is that you get to be your mammy's mascot, again!
You didn't care much for the rival team, Chelsea. You have always thought that the players on the team were big bullies, they were always mean when they pushed your mammy onto the ground and you didn't like them for that.
Your mammy is your hero and she always looks so cool when she's on the pitch, you can't wait to watch the game and shout loudly for her and the rest of the girls in the team.
Last year when your mammy won the cup with her team, she drank out of the big special cup, but you were sad that you weren't allowed to drink out of it because only the older girls were allowed to do that.
You hope that this year this year you can do that, after all it's been a whole year since your mammy said that.
"Mammy, wake up!" You continue to nudge her impatiently, still continuing to poke and prod her until she eventually does open her eyes, "You're awake!" You cheer in delight.
"I'm awake," Your mammy groans, slowly opening her eyes to reveal you sitting directly on top of her, "Its' still early, baby. What're you doing up?" she questions.
"It's game day, Mammy! You gots' to wake up!" You squeal in excitement, doing no more than to continue to jump up and down on her stomach.
"The game isn't until much later on, Rascal, remember?" Your mammy reminds you, chuckling in slight amusement as she tries to pull you into her arms with the hope that you'll lie back down and fall asleep beside her, "Why don't you come lie beside Mammy and we can try and sleep for a bit longer?" she suggests.
"No, Mammy. Up now!" Your reluctance to go back to sleep is evident, you don't want to do that and your confused why your mammy doesn't want to get up yet either, "It's game day, Mammy. Up, up!" You repeat loudly.
Your Mammy exhales a small sigh, "Alright, alright. Fine, I'll get up," She mumbles before she turns to take a brief glance at the time on her phone and her eyes almost buldge out of her sockets when she see's that its' barely even 6 yet, "Well, it looks like Mammy's gonna have a long day today then, isn't she?" she speaks aloud.
"Game day, Mammy! Game day! Watch Beff score goal, kick kick!"" You squeal in excitement about the football match before you jump of the bed and race around the carpetted bedroom floor, kicking a pretend football in the air as you throw your hands up in celebration, "Goal!" You cheer loudly.
Your Mammy laughs in amusement as she throws her duvet back, "What about Mammy's goals, huh? Or are they not good enough now?" she jokes.
"Meh, they're alright," You tell her cheekily as you shrug your shoulders, "But I prefer Beff's' instead and Lessi's too, they're so cool, Mammy!" You declare enthusiastically.
"What?" Your Mammy gasps in shock at the abrupt annoucement of your preference to the other girls in the team, "My own kid. I... I feel betrayed," she speaks dramatically, faking her hurt.
"Silly, Mammy. I still loves you the most!" You state, throwing your small arms around her legs, "But Beffs' goals are better!" You insist, trying to soften the blow.
"Your breaking my heart here, you little rascal," Your mammy chuckles, scooping you up into her arms and proceeding to unleash tickles on your stomach, "Come on, lets' go and get some breakfast in that tummy of yours, shall we?"
You let out a sudden squeal as you feel yourself being lifted up of the ground, you're not a fan of being tickled and your Mammy knows this as well, "Ah, M... Mammy! Put me... Put me down!" You shriek in demand, thrashing around in her arms.
Your Mammy laughs in amusement before she places you back down on the floor so you could run downstairs ahead of her, "Careful on the stairs, rascal!" she warns hesistantly, knowing your eagerness to rush around the house and injure yourself sometimes.
"I'm being super duper careful!" You beam a smile at her, cautious of each step on the stairs as your little hand holds onto the bannister, "It's game day! It's game day!" Your shouting is loud enough to wake the entire house, even though your auntie Ella is such a deep sleeper that your Mammy says she won't even wake up during an earthquake.
You wanted to test the theory when your Mammy told you that, so you tried to wake her up once by jumping on her but she didn't even stir.
You guess your Mammy was right after all.
Tumblr media
"Hold on a minute, rascal," Your Mammy shouts aloud, trying to stop you rushing off once you both arrive at the training centre, however, your little legs' are already running off to try and find the rest of the girls.
More especially Beth and Viv, two of your favourite people.
You didn't really like rules sometimes, they are boring to stick to sometimes but in your defence, your Mammy let go off your hand and that's a rookie error to do.
"A-ha, I've gotcha!" You are suddenly lifted off the ground much to your disappointment, "And where do you think that you're running off to then?" The familiar voice of your Mammy's new girlfriend, Caitlin questions, curiously.
"Ah, no, no-- Put me... Put me down!" You immediately thrash about in the older girls arms, not happy at all now you had the disadvantage to run around like you wanted to do, "Put me down, Caitlin. I... I don't want you!" You whine in protest.
"Ah, what the-- Did you... Did you just bite me?" Caitlin exclaims, feeling the sudden sharp nip on her arm as she looks at you in her arms before she looks back at her skin where there's a fresh set of tiny teeth marks now.
"Maybe, but I did tell you to put me down so its' your fault," You shrug your shoulders and feign your innocence.
"There you are, little rascal," Your Mammy finally catches up to you, seeing you were in Caitlins' arms, "Hi, Cait," She fondly smiles at her girlfriend and you can't help but wrinkle your face up in disgust.
It's not like you didn't like your Mammy's new girlfriend, she was funny and she did play with you most of the time, but you still wish that your Mammy and Mama were still together and you could be a family.
Things were different now and you didn't cope well with change, you didn't like how things were now.
"Someone looks tired?" Caitlin jokes, noting the clear exhaustion in your Mammy's face.
Your Mammy chuckles slightly, "Well that's because somebody wanted to get up at 6, didn't they?" She diverts her look in your direction and you can't help but pout, you only wanted to get up and get ready for the game.
"Mammy! Caitlins' bein' mean!" You complain with wide eyes full of accusation as Caitlin finally places you back down on the floor.
"She's being mean? How so?" Your Mammy wonders curiously, kneeling down to your level before she glances up to look at her girfriend in amusement.
"She wouldn't put me down, so I bit her!" You confess almost proudly, crossing your arms defiantly.
"What?" Your Mammy furrows her eyebrows in shock, "Rascal, you don't people. We've already spoken about this before, haven't we, hm?" She scolds you gently, trying to stifle her laughter.
"I do, Mammy, but Caitlin still bein' mean picking me up!" You insist, pouting.
Your Mammy exhales a sigh and shakes her head, "What do we say?" She prompts you to apologise, raising her eyebrow.
Why is your Mammy taking her side? Now she's being mean as well.
"Mammy," You whine in frustration.
"Y/N," Your mammy chides, giving you a pointed look.
Furrowing your eyebrows, you let out a little dramatic huff in protest before begrudingly turning to Caitlin, "Sorry, I bit you... But it was your own fault cos' I did warn you," You mumble innocently, not ready to quite admit your defeat yet.
Tumblr media
"Mammy," You tug nervously at her hand as you can hear the loud noise around the stadium from the fans.
Crouching down to your level, she looks at you, "What's the matter, rascal? Is it too loud for you?" she wonders.
"Its' loud," You mumble, clutching a hold of her hand.
You should be used to this level of noise from fans, you've been a mascot for your Mammy, your Mama and the rest of the girls plenty of times.
It still didn't make you like it though.
"Do you want me to pick you up? Its' not too late to go and sit with your Auntie Ella if you're feeling nervous about walking out with me," Your Mammy tries to figure out the solution to the problem.
"Up, please," You ask nicely, lifting your arms up in the air and without much hesitance, your Mammy does exactly that so you're now tall enough to be able to see the rest of the girls.
"That better?" Your Mammy questions, smiling at you kindly.
"Better," You shyly bury your face in her top, almost as if to try and hide from everyone else out there.
"You're not going shy now, are you, huh? Just a few more minutes and then we'll be walking out," Your Mammy explains, keeping a safe hold of you in her arms, "Then you can go and sit with your auntie to watch the game," She adds.
Tumblr media
"No goal again," You huff in protest and slump back against your aunties' chest where you have been perched on her lap for majority of the game, waving the silly little fan that you were given to occupy yourself.
So at least that was amusing to do and you had a blast waving it around.
"Just be patient, kiddo," Your auntie, Ella, chuckles while sensing your overall frustration since the majority has been the same way.
Most of the game in your opinion wasn't that eventful nor was it pyshical enough, you had a moment when Chelsea nearly scored you wanted to jump off your aunties' lap and run onto the pitch to riot , but your auntie already was a few steps ahead and had a tight grip on the back of your shirt, already predicting the moment.
The scariest moment in the game was when Frida went down right in front of your eyes, however, being the young age that you were, you just thought she wanted to take a nap on the pitch like you did sometimes, "Silly, Frida. Why's she sleepin' now when there's a game to play?" You couldn't help but ask innocently.
"I guess... I guess she's tired," Ella makes up the excuse quickly, trying her best to shield your eyes away from what is going on, but you don't miss how eerie the silence was in the stadium followed by your Mammy's yelling.
Even though your eyes were covered by your aunties' hand, you still recognise it because you've heard it enough times, non of its' ever directed to you though unless its' when your in danger.
"Wanna see," You whine and try push your aunties' hands' away that are covering your own eyes, you don't know what's going on around you now but it seems a bit scary.
You don't really know or understand what's going on around you, but you're doing your best to be able to see what is happening. You don't like the way that your Mammy yelled that loud, but regardless of it all, your auntie refused to let up on the decision to shield you away from it until play is resumed on the field.
Tumblr media
"Goal!" You shout in triumph as you watch Stina score the winning goal in the 116th minute of the game and the whole stadium errupts in noise straight away, "Stina scored! Stina scored-- Auntie Ella, did you see it?" Your buzzing with excitement and have to check that your Auntie witnessed it as well.
"I did see that, kid," Ella chuckles as she watches your enthusiasm.
"We've won!" You shout loudly for your auntie and everyone else around to hear, you didn't care much about the volume of your voice as the girls had won the game and you were to excited to care about everyone else's opinions. "Mammy won! The girls won!" You continue to shout, eager to already get away from your seat and in the direction of the pitch.
"They have won, you're right," Ella chuckles, not minding you jumping up and down on her lap in your excitement.
"That means they'll win the big trophy, doesn't it?" You turn your attention back to your auntie, "I can't wait to see that!" You exclaim.
"Hopefully, short stack," Ella nods at your question, although nothing is completely guaranteed as anything could happen in the final minutes of the extra time in the game.
Thankfully, you didn't have to wait all that long before the game ended and the celebrations could begin.
"They won! They won!" You cheer loudly, shifting from your spot on your aunties' lap to the empty seat beside as you jump up and down in glee, you were very excited to see them win the game in the end.
"They did win, short stack," Your auntie agrees happily, grinning and clapping her hands in celebration.
Tumblr media
"Mammy!" You cheer and throw yourself into her arms as she walks over to you, donned with a big medal wrapped around her neck that looks super cool to you, "Mammy, you won!" You repeat excitedly.
"We did, my little rascal," Your Mammy grins and engulfs you in a hug before she sweeps you up into her arms with such ease like she hasn't just played a full blown 120 minutes on the pitch, "You like the medal?" she questions.
"Looks cool. I wear it, please?" You ask her hopeful, you didn't care if it was heavy or not.
Your Mammy luckily enough didn't think twice about it before she took it from her neck and placed it around your own, "Be careful it's a bit heavy," she chuckles before she grins and motions for you to point in the direction of the camera where your auntie doesn't hesitate to snap a quick photo of the moment.
"Bit heavy," You repeat in a whining tone as you lift it up and look at it in awe, "We go on pitch now and celebrate?" You wonder, curiously.
"Well I couldn't celebrate on my own now, could I?" Your Mammy chuckles, already thinking ahead as she carries you onto the pitch to join in with the celebration with the rest of the girls and the big fancy cup.
With that being said, you soon end up involved in the rest of the celebrations, happy enough to run in between the rest of the girls with an Ireland flag wrapped around you while you giggle your head off.
"Can I drink it?" You question innocently, looking in the direction of the big cup and watching as its' passed around the girls.
You don't miss the laughter that comes from your Mammy and a few of the other girls, "Not until you're a bit older. This drink is for the older girls only," She explains.
"But Mammy, you said that last year. I'm 4 now, I'm a big girl!" You state in protest, an adorable pout plastered on your lips, "Can I please try it?" You ask the question.
"Shes' got you there Katie," Leah pipes in, chuckling in amusement at your point that you were technically older.
"Indeed she does," Steph adds in.
"Much much older than you are now," Your Mammy clarifies, shaking her head, "You, rascal, are way too smart sometimes, huh?" She jokes.
"North London Forever!" You shout the lyrics to the familiar song at the top of your voice, safely in the arms of your Mammy as all the girls stand in a line and celebrate with the fans, "Whatever the weather, these streets are own!" You continue to belt out the lyrics and have the time of your life, living in the moment of the celebrations.

Shoma's press con on his retirement 14/05/2024
Japanese transcript (not sure if it's full though) of Shoma's 1 hour retirement press con. I put a machine translation with Google lense on each paragraph. Beware that it's not a word for word translation but only for getting the gist of Shoma's words!
Tumblr media
livedoor news
@livedoornews
[Shoma Uno's retirement press conference] The most vivid memory I have is ``the sight of coach Stéphane Lambiel when he won his first world championship.''
Q.When was the moment when you decided to end your career with this season?
It was about two years ago that I started thinking about retiring.
However, since then, I have had a hard time imagining myself retiring, so of course I have been working hard on skating with all my might, but I have had many experiences since then, and I am now where I am now.
It's already time to decide on a clear time.
However, regarding when I told my coach, right after the All Japan Championships ended, I told Coach Stefan that I was thinking of retiring as an active athlete at the next tournament.
Tumblr media
Q. What did you gain or feel because you experienced the big stage?
I've never been someone who was good at standing up in front of people and talking like this, or performing on a big stage.
Once you experience something on a big stage, you become less nervous about everything than you were then.
I've had a lot of experiences on big stages, but even if it's not a big stage at all, there are parts of my life that make me nervous.
My biggest thought is that when I look back on it, I think it was a precious experience, a precious treasure that I only get to have now.
Tumblr media
Q. No matter how many times I think about it, I think it's a good memory.
I think seeing Stefan's joy after winning his first World Championship is a very memorable and vivid memory for me as well.
Tumblr media
[Shoma Uno's retirement press conference] "I'm looking forward to figure skating as he continues to reach a high level."
Q. You have been able to express yourself even among players with large physiques.
I have never felt at a disadvantage in figure skating because of my short height.
I'm really glad I chose figure skating.
First of all, with my height of 157 cm, there are not many other sports where I can excel, so I am truly blessed to have started figure skating.
I don't think I ever had such negative feelings.
Tumblr media
Q. Do you have a message for your juniors who are competing against rising players such as [Ilia] Malinin?
I skated an old program at an ice show the other day, so I had the opportunity to watch videos of old competitions.
When I looked at my own videos, I realized that I had really evolved in terms of expression compared to before.
I'm looking forward to the future of figure skating, which will continue to rise to a higher and higher level, and all the juniors in Japan are really good kids. First of all, we get along very well. Of course I want everyone to have a good result, but I also hope that at least one athlete who has the most fun and embodies the kind of skating that they are aiming for can emerge.
Tumblr media
Q. What do you think about when you are skating?
When I was little, I had a very introverted personality and couldn't speak in front of people.
I don't think my parents thought I would be able to stand on the ice alone and perform in front of so many people.
On the other hand, because I'm the only one there, people can really see the world I create and the way I express myself.
Even here, I'm very grateful to have a place where everyone listens to what I say sincerely and reports on it, and I think that's why it's a place where it's easy to express my true colors. Because I think so.
I don't think I'm the type of person who can communicate much, so I think the competition and environment suited me very well.
Also, when it comes to skating, which I would like to do in the future, I want to give it my all.
Tumblr media
I also want to be able to create a program that I find enjoyable every day, and show it to everyone in a way that brings out my own emotions.I don't feel like I have to do this first, but I want to. I'm excited about the possibility of creating some great programs in the future that emerge from this feeling.
Tumblr media
Q.What is the driving force behind skating?
To be honest, I don't know.
I've loved games since I was very young, so at first I just wanted to play games and work hard at skating.
However, as I continued skating every day, I gradually became attracted to the appeal of skating and the idea that I could compete at the top of the world. I think it's really important to have a place to devote all your time to, including your hobbies.
No matter how depressed you are, being able to put your all into something is extremely valuable.
Although it may be tiring at times.
However, I believe that the time I spent facing this wholeheartedly will be an asset for me in the future, and I think that this experience will be something I can continue to utilize in my life. Masu.

we talked about this but my petty hill to die on is that BEAUXBATONS AND DURMSTRANG ARE COED and making fleur the only female champion and coming in last place actually becomes extremely fucking sexist when you make her school all-girls
Okay, well, now I am declaring today "petty hill to die on day" and I want you all to come into my inbox with your petty hills, regardless of fandom. Happy leap day, all!
YES TO ALL OF THIS, ZO. You are 100% correct and it's absolutely sexist in light of Fleur coming in last.

I'm bored, so let's look at some submission stats 3 days in!
Number of total submissions: 47
Number of unique submissions: 40
The following swords have been submitted to return and need additional submissions to be confirmed:
Myrtenaster (RWBY): needs 2 more submissions
Dragonslayer (Berserk): needs 2 more submissions
Sword of the Creator (Fire Emblem): needs 2 more submissions
Excalibur (Soul Eater): needs 2 more submissions
Nightblood (Warbreaker): needs 2 more submissions
Leo's Katanas/Odachi (RotTMNT): needs 2 more submissions (counting these both as one entity for simplicity's sake)
I recognize that tournaments are not nearly in their height as they were before, but this is quite the dropoff from last time. If submissions don't pick up soon I might have to remove the barrier for entry for the returning swords so any that got submitted even once will be included. I implemented that rule assuming I'd get as high a number of submissions as the first iteration did, but it seems that it wasn't necessary.
Anyways, I'd definitely like to reach at least 64 submissions before closing the poll, so if you can think of any more swords you'd like to submit or would like to help boost this at all that would be greatly appreciated :)

I wanna address the misconception that everyone wanted to see Ash vs Alain just so Ash could have a ‘revenge’ for the Kalos league finals. No. I personally wanted to see that match-up because (uh, I ended up rambling too much so cut):
1) at least those two have a ‘history’ together. They’re friends and they have battled against each other before. I personally don’t care about match-ups where the characters have not even interacted with each other on screen before the episode where they battle. Like, Lance vs Diantha? Their champion status is the only thing that makes that battle even vaguely interesting to me. One of the (biggest) issues in this particular tournament is that the only match up that JN has done some building up for is Ash vs Leon. That is why I found it extremely important that we would have had /at least/ one whole episode before the tournament starts that is nothing but the contestants interacting with each other. Sadly, based on what we currently know about the upcoming episodes, that’s not going to happen.
2) Because I care about both these characters. Alain and Ash are both some of my favorite characters in this anime and of course I want to see them battle for simply that reason. Although, ideally it wouldn’t have happened until semifinals but I knew from the beginning that that very likely wouldn’t be the case.
3) simply to see both these characters’ development! A lot has happened since XY&Z and both Ash and Alain have grown as trainers and have new mons and all that stuff so yes, that part would have also made it interesting.
(Going a bit more into details about what we know about the upcoming episodes here based on the summary+episode titles so don’t read further if you don’t want to know)
But all that being said, at the moment I’m actually fine with the Leon vs Alain match-up. 2 strong Charizard trainers against each other does make sense narrative wise. It’s the execution I’m concerned about because well, we know that this battle will already start in the next episode, and there is also a possibility that it will end in that episode. How do Tomioka&co think they are doing justice to this battle if the characters barely have time to meet before the battle starts, and 3 of Alain’s mons are gonna get knocked out within like 10 minutes? That is why I really hope that this battle is going to continue in the next episode. I do have some hope because in the preview (specifically for this episode) we did not see the charizards or the 3rd team members so... yeah. Trying to remain positive!
Well, that’s all I’m going to say about this, sorry for rambling!

Do you think humans in twisted wonderland have periods? What if they don't...
What if AFAB!Yuu is the only one in twisted wonderland to have periods and it freaks everyone out
Evolutionarily speaking it would make sense for the humans in twisted wonderland to reabsorb the unused egg for extra fuel for magic
[cw] - discussion of periods/afab!Yuu but still written as gn [wc} - 1,792 Added the rest under readmore as it got a bit long. I think there's a fic somewhere on here with this idea, but I can't remember the blog or name, I'll edit and link it later if I find it. I can see the point of the egg being reabsorbed, though personally I think TWST humans are biologically the same as Earth humans, minus the ones with magic maybe having a bit stronger/heighten senses and strengths. After all, there are plenty of humans who aren't magic, I think it's mentioned some point in their book 2 or book 5 that a majority of the population is either magicless or aren't privy to the privilege of formal magical education.
Tumblr media
Even if a majority of the human population is magic, there's still a good chunk of them that don't and if that's the case then they at least would have periods.
However, that's explicitly the human population, and in reality it makes absolutely no sense for beastmen or merfolk to have periods. Especially when they have things like heat/ruts or mating cycles. Fae I think would actually make the most sense for the headcanon you're mentioning! They are completely and utterly magic, made from the magic of the earth, animals, and flora given sentience and forms. They are utterly magic, through, and through, so it would make sense for those with uteri to recycle the egg back into them for magical fuel.
And say we're going with the assumption that there are no other afab students in the school, or there are, but they're only beastmen, merfolk, and/or fae, then an afab!Yuu comes as quite a shock.
The beastmen are the first to notice something off with them, as they have the most acute sense of smell. This is followed by a very close second with the merfolk (particularly the predacious ones) and an even closer third by the fae. All the boys from those dorms, minus Lilia who's lived long enough to know what a period is, clock in on their friend who reeks of blood and flesh (because you're also shedding pieces of your uterine lining).
Lord help you, as you're in a crowded area, the cafeteria, with not only them but the rest of their classmates that also smell your blood, because their immediate thought is that you're fucking dying.
Sebek is surprisingly the first to launch himself at you, shouting at the top of his lungs, “WHERE IS YOUR INJURY HUMAN?! YOU ARE SEVERELY INJURED YOU SHOULD BE IN THE INFIRMARY—” Before he is yanked off by a wide-eyed Jack, who's looking more and more like the dead as he leans down to sniff at you.
The blood from his face drains (ha) as he turns to look at Leona and Ruggie, as well as a small group of other beastmen—friend's you've made during the tournament—and nods. This causes them to all look horrified and gaze at you like a wounded puppy. Minus Leona, who just looks amused.
“It's coming from them.”
Still confused, you stare at the Heartslabyul group—who'd been eating breakfast with you—in bewilderment. They also look at you in confusion, except for Riddle, the latter of which pinches the bridge of his noses and takes a deep sigh.
“I think you're all being a bit dramatic, they're just on their—”
“DRAMATIC? I DON'T THINK YOU'RE BEING DRAMATIC ENOUGH!”
Floyd grabs you from behind, spinning you and shoving his face so close to yours that you noses are smushed together.
“Shrimpy… you gotta tell me who did it, cause I could tell from aaaaall the way in the hallway that ya hurt. Com'on! Tell Floydie, I promise I won't be mad.”
Jade placed a hand on his brother's shoulder as he leans down to chastise Floyd.
“Not now Floyd, the poor thing is hurt, we should take them to the infirmary. Then we can hunt down the dreadful soul that hurt our friend and have them trade their spot.”
You felt yourself being lifted from the ground, yelping and latching your arms around Floyd's neck as he cradles you in his arms. Effectively yanking you from Jack's grip, who immediately growls.
“Floyd! Be careful!”
“Ehhh? Yeah that sounds like a great idea! Let's go now, I'm itching for a good fight, ayhehehe!”
Leona and Riddle shared a look, the former sighed to try and explain.
“Look you idiots, they're not injured, they're—”
“What are you waiting for?” Ruggie interrupted him, annoyed by Leona's unconcerned attitude, instead gesturing to Floyd. “Let's go before they bleed out even more!”
The small group clamored out of the cafeteria, a few more concerned students following after them as they started to hear bits and pieces of the conversation. Leaving Leona and the others in the dust. Deuce piped up.
“… Uh, do they not know—”
“No, most beastmen aren't familiar with periods.”
“I'm guessing merfolk and fae don't either, based on the twins and Sebek.” Riddle sighed, feeling sorry for you.
Leona's ears perked as he heard the shrill shriek of a certain octopus in the distance. Riddle and the others also seemed to hear it as they winced.
“Probably not…”
“…”
“… should we?”
“Yeah, we probably should, before my boys wreck the school. Let's get Crewel.”
It took a whole hour of you reassuring the small crowd that had formed around your bed in the infirmary before anyone calmed down. Floyd and Jade were being constantly pulled back into the infirmary by the ear by the nurse, who kept telling the two to stop trying to go beat up the imaginary person that, quote unquote, “hurt you”.
“What do you mean Shrimpy isn't hurt? I can smell the blood from all the way down the hall!”
“Yes, it's quite a potent scent, and distinct to our dear Prefect.” Jade held his hand to his chest as he sniffled. “We've smelled it before when they've gotten hurt, but this is a whole different level.”
“Yeah! Almost all of Savanaclaw could smell it” Ruggie nodded in agreement as Jack followed.
“They must be really hurt if we all could smell it from that far away! You need to help them nurse!”
Their voice's grew again in volume, Sebek in particular, as he vowed to also hunt down the “ruffian who would dare harm a fellow student on the campus Master Malleus attended!”
The nurse, growing more and more annoyed trying to corral the group (she wondered how ethical it would be to use a silencing spell and another to stick them to the ceiling), sighed in relief as the echo of Crewel's whip commanded immediate silence.
“Oh, thank the Sundrop, Professor Crewel, please control them. I am up to here with their foolishness—”
“Foolish? The Prefect might be dying!” Azul cried out, surprisingly attached to your side. She'd tried to yank him off of you earlier, but was met with a shocking amount of strength as his grip on the metal bed frame caused an Azul-sized hand indent to form. His strength, easy to forget in his slender frame. Now, he was trying his best to coax the name of the student responsible with promises of free drinks and discounted food.
“No I'm not!” You cried out in exasperation. “I've been trying to tell you, but y'all won't listen!”
As you tried to get up from the bed, trapped in a blanket cocoon made by Azul, the boys started up again. Half urging you to stay in bed and rest, while the other half argued with the nurse, and now Crewel, about healing you up.
A near ear-shattering rumble of thunder caused another silence to fall over everyone. This time, though, the group shrunk into themselves as Malleus, standing proud and tall, entered the room. Sebek perked up, rushing over to meet him.
“Young Master! I've ensured that the human was taken to the infirmary, but so far they've refused any healing—”
“Thank you, Sebek. I will speak to them myself.”
Malleus, his school jacket flourishing behind him (one of the students murmured that he felt like a background character in a romance movie), flew to your side. Where you had been squirming your upper body out of the blanket cocoon, smacking at Azul's hands as he kept attempting to swaddle you back in.
Now freed waist up, you turned to face Malleus, who had elegantly kneeled down by your bedside (you could hear Sebek muffled a shriek) and held your hand like a delicate piece of china.
“Child of Man, my friend, what happened? Are you alright? Did someone hurt you?” Malleus cooed at you, green eyes peering into yours, full of concern.
So it was a surprise to everyone in the room when you groaned, which morphed into a soft scream.
“Uh… Child of Man?”
“I'm fiiiiiine!” You sighed, slumping back into the bed. “I'm just on my period, you guys.”
The room remained quiet, a bit too quiet as you lifted your head back up to look at the room of confused looking men. Crewel had a hip cocked as he looked unimpressed over the crowd. The nurse was rubbing her temples. You heard Azul clear his throat, drawing his attention as he asked,
"What's a period?"
Finally, the crowd had settled, all of them huddled around your bed as you tried your best to explain what a menstral cycle was.
"So you like, bleed every month? Randomly?"
"Amount 28 days, so once a month yeah. And now it's not random, it's part of the reproductive cycle. It's my body preps for a new egg—"
"But, I though humans didn't lay eggs?" Floyd asked, leaning against Azul's right shoulder.
"We don't, it's different the egg turns into a baby itself so there's no egg to lay—"
Ruggie spoke up, "We get that, but I don't get why the egg makes you bleed? It can't do that can it?"
"No, no, no. It's not the egg itself, it's my body. In order for the egg to get fertilize it needs a good environment to grow, so the uterus grows a fresh lining once a month for the egg to latch on to, so—"
You sighed as once of the other fae students interrupted.
"Fresh lining? Like, the skin? Of the uterus?"
You nodded, trying to keep your patience as you attempted to explain to your friends that, no, you were in fact not bleeding to death.
"Yes, that's the blood, the skin is shedding to make a fresh one for the next egg."
You don't think it's working, as that last sentence caused a wave of mortifcation amongst the crowd.
"That... sounds like it hurts." Malleus, still holding your hand, softly asked. "You're not hurting though, correct?"
Pursing your lips, you looked up at the ceiling, avoiding eye contact. Wow had that cobweb always been in that corner?
"Yuu."
Malleus's voice, calling out your name for once, was full of questioning.
"Yeah Horns?"
"it doesn't hurt, correct?"
You started whistling a little tune, studying the dirt under your nails.
"Dear Prefect," Jade this time. "Answer the question?"
The group leaned in closer as you grumbled under your breath.
"Speak up Shrimpy."
".........not always."
"Come on, stop being shy, you act like a puppy most of the time" Ruggie was getting annoyed.
".....cramps..not move...not always."
"It's okay Yuu, you can say it." Azul cooed.
"...Sometimes the cramps makes it hurt too much to move, but not always."
You braced yourself as the crowd once again riled up.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT HURTS TOO MUCH TO MOVE?"
The nurse off to the side still, leaned over to tell Crewel, "I told you we needed an interspecies health class."
Tumblr media
hehe this was fun, comments appreciated. I may be inclined to write more since writing different between species like this is fun

The headset // gamer Matt
Warnings: major mommy kink / praise kink / begging kink / sub Matt x dom reader / sort of fwb in a way… / cockwarming / riding / edging / slight degredation / unprotected sex
Summary: matt has been quietly playing on his pc for hours now, ignoring you - his best friend - for the most part, until you decide to take matters into your own hands…
Author’s notes: yes, there will be smut. If that’s not your kind of thing, just don’t read it, it’s not my problem. ALSO for everyone’s sake, we pretend the reader is on the pill, because I’m lazy haha.
Tumblr media
“But this is deeper than a friendship now, let’s keep it awkward…” - Awkward, SZA
Watching Matt’s side profile, you admire the way he leans forward with his lip bitten in concentration. His fingers rattle with the joystick of his controller and his voice is calculated. Suddenly, he cackles manically and jeers at the headshot he had just made which knocked the other team out of the tournament he was playing in.
‘BRO?! Did you fucking see that? I’m so good!’ He muses cockily, tossing his controller onto his gaming desk whilst sitting back suavely, his arms folded over his chest. Taking off his headset, he sniffles and ruffles his hair before reaching for his water bottle and taking a sip. Finally, you think that he’s going to acknowledge you, but instead of looking around and saying that he’s going to log off, he simply slides his headset back on, his hair flopping onto his forehead.
‘Matt?’ You call, almost shyly, really just wanting him to come and sit down with you so that you can rant to him about your bad day. The bad day that he said you could come over and rant about. But instead he stays nestled in his desk chair.
‘Huh, what?’ He grumbles, turning his head back to pay you a glance that lasts for about 0.5 seconds. However, it is still enough for Matt to see that you are wearing nothing but a tank top and those silk shorts that he absolutely loves on you. Painfully, he also spies that you are not wearing a bra and has to turn back around to his computer so that he can squeeze his eyes shut and try to calm the steady throb that starts within his gut.
How the fuck is he supposed to concentrate on what you have to say when your tits are simply sitting in your tank top, staring at him like that? It’s going to take all of his fucking willpower not to drop his eyes down to ogle at them.
‘You said I could come over and talk about my day?’ You reply to him expectantly, raising your eyebrows in annoyance when he sighs, as if you are an inconvenience.
‘Oh yeah’ he mumbles unenthusiastically underneath his breath, and you have to resist the urge to pelt one of his stuffed animals right at his head.
‘Umm… just- just gimme one more game, this thing’s almost done alright?’ He begs, this time looking back around at you fully, his gaming chair slightly swivelled to face you.
You sigh, but you’re a very giving and patient person, so you nod and smile. ‘Okay, that’s fine’. Matt cracks a gleeful grin then picks up his headset to secure it back on. ‘Kay I’m back’ he speaks, loading into the lobby and readying his character for another game.
You sigh again, snuggling down into the black covers of his bed, scrolling through your phone whilst occasionally glancing up at his shouting figure. You try to make small conversation with him, but it hurts your feelings when he completely brushes you off in favour of communicating with his online friends. Surely he doesn’t have to be that concentrated on his game.
‘So what have you been up to in class lately?’ You speak up, but you are presently shouted over with a ‘NATE! HE’S RIGHT FUCKING BEHIND YOU, WATCH YOUR BACK!’. You hesitate, screwing your face up in sadness. Every single time you try to talk to him, he just yells down into the mic and completely ignores you. You feel like you’re invisible.
So you decide to fix that. If he isn’t going to treat you fairly then neither are you going to treat him with respect. Tossing your phone to the left side of Matt’s bed, you stand up and slowly make your way towards his gaming chair with a devious smirk on your face. You amble into the view of his PC, and Matt’s mouth hangs open in concentration before he darts his head from either side to try and see the computer that was currently being blocked by your grinning body.
You walk forward once again, and Matt looks up at you, not quiet expecting your hands to shoot out and release one of his from the grip it had on his controller so that you could get in. You climb into his lap and sit yourself down easily.
To save himself from being shot by the opposition, Matt quickly grips the controller once again and simply leans his chin on your shoulder so that he can see, before reaching up to quickly mute his mic. ‘Umm what are you doing?’ He nervously laughs to you, trying to keep his beating heart steady at the feeling of your ass and thighs weighting down on his legs. And let’s not forget your tits, now too fucking close to ignore as they press against his chest through your hug.
Think of your grandma’s underwear Matt… think of your grandma’s underwear.
‘Well you haven’t even said hello to me today so… I thought I’d come and give you a hug’ you mumble, shifting around slightly in his lap to get comfortable. However, you regret to realise what this does to Matt’s raging hormones, and it’s not long before he becomes extremely hot and flushed, his cock aching in his jeans at the feeling of your heat being so close to his.
He stutters and falters, just praying that his semi hard-on doesn’t get any worse. ‘Umm okay… well I’m kinda busy so- ahh!’ He cuts himself off with a quiet hiss at your hips shuffling forwards yet again because of his standoffishly rude statement. Serves him fucking right for ignoring his best friend.
But the hope of his prick softening is later abandoned, because he only gets more uncomfortable and stiff. He’s now thinking about wet body parts sliding together, and squeezing his hands against someone’s tits. It’s just handy that yours are right here with him in the moment. He simply can’t bare to focus on the game any longer now. He’s far too conscious about his cock, that is leaking drips of precome and pressing painfully against his boxers.
You have your fun, giggling to yourself because of how surprisingly well this is actually working to get his attention, until you feel an obvious bulge sitting right below the cover of your shorts. Matt had gone extremely quiet…
‘M…Matt, are you… hard?’ You mumble in shock at your best friend before weighing your hips further down into his lap, now this time on purpose, only to have him hiss at the pressure it brings to his core.
One of his hands slips from the tight grip it has on his controller to shoot out and press down on his armrest. His back arches right up into you stomach, as if he is trying to subtly slide his crotch away from your touch.
‘Um, I- um…’ he stutters in embarrassment, his cheeks turning a furious shade of red. He swallows, and you watch his Adam’s apple bob delicately in his throat. ‘Uh, yeah I- I guess I am… sorry’ he mumbled pathetically with his eyes averted in shame at your thighs.
Your lips set in a line, and you squeeze your legs around his sides, your core already dripping for him, which makes you decide to now fully sit your weight onto his hardened cock within his jeans. You rock your hips from side to side, and Matt starts to intake heavy panting breathes, his cheeks a heavy flushed pink as he looks up at you with dreamily confused eyes.
‘W-what are you doing?’ He sputters in shock, his hands still resting upon his arm rests, not daring to splay at all where they so desperately want to. By now his precious controller has been dropped and forgotten to the floor in favour of enjoying the way your hips roll over where he throbs the most.
Matt’s prick is wet… dripping wet, and he feels hot and sweaty all over, all for you. His hands make moist perspiration over the black leather of his seat. And he wants to buck his hips up, he wants to buck them up so badly, but whatever you do feels just as nice as you spread your hands along under his jaw and lift it gently so that he can look up into your eyes instead of fixating them upon your grinding lower halves.
‘I’m going to fix this for you’
Matt blinks, his jaw feathering open but he doesn’t say a word, he’s too scared to. You keep his eyes on you, one of your hands drifting down his brown and pink hoodie before you lift it slightly at the bottom.
Your hand finds the button to Matt’s jeans, but you don’t break eye contact with him. His breath is raggedy with anticipation, his shoulders rising and falling at the sound of the button popping and your hand dragging the zipper down slowly.
He shuffles slightly once it’s down fully, clearly uncomfortably hard and needing attention immediately. Before you take your hands anywhere near him though, you slide them to his hands and take them for him. Guiding them to your back, you place them there whilst leaning in. ‘You can touch me you know… don’t be shy’. You smirk slightly at the sight of him timidly darting his eyes about your face, his sweating hands now fully down and putting pressure upon your shoulder blades.
‘Nice and slow, yeah?’ You mumble once again, but this time you reach for his boxers, easily slipping your hand down them and finding his throbbing prick. It’s hot and silky in your hand and your heart races, Matt whimpering his first throaty ‘oh god’ as he tips his head back slightly and squeezes his eyes shut.
He tries to simply control his breathing, his toes curling on the floor and his fingers arching on your back to indent little crescent moons into it.
‘See? Not that hard is it?’ You talk, in a slightly condescending manner but it seems to not bother Matt, because his cock only throbs more at the sound of your voice speaking to him in this way.
Looking down at his prick you admire it, and admire the way a vein runs up his shaft perfectly to point to his pink and needy tip. Leaning in again, you know just the thing to say to stroke his ego.
‘Fuck Matt, you’re so pretty’
He whines at this comment, his tip leaking easily. He looks as though he could cry in ecstasy when your thumb starts to rub it in slow circles. Fucking hell if he’s this sensitive, who knows how long he’s actually going to last. But he grits his teeth, willing himself to stay calm as choked whimpers expel from his mouth. You stroke him slowly and teasingly, and Matt has to physically careen forward and bite down on your shoulder to keep himself from moaning throatily. His saliva drips down your skin, and the feeling of it only makes you squeeze him harder.
Simply jerking him doesn’t seem to be enough for Matt though, because although he’s shy… he’s also greedy, extremely greedy. He wants more, and by more he means he physically wants to feel you slide down onto him. So he detaches himself from your shoulder, resting his forehead on it instead before he starts to beg. ‘Please… please I wanna- I wanna be inside you… I need-’ but he cuts himself off with another husky moan at the wave of pleasure that washes over him suddenly.
And suddenly this all becomes very real, the barrier between friendship and something more completely shattering between you at this point. And now it all depends on whether you are willing enough to give in and take this further, because Matt has obviously voiced his clear desire to take you as his own already.
But strangely, that idea appeals to you a lot more than it should and you’re already soaking for him. You stand up frantically, letting go of Matt. He whines in frustration at the loss of contact, but soon widens his eyes and re-grips the arms of the chair at the sight of you taking off your shorts. He swallows, his eyes trained on the fabric that slips down your dewy shining legs, his boxers still on but slipped slightly down his thighs with his legs spread out to the sides. His cheeks are still cherry pink, and his eyes are dilated heavily with desire when your panties also come off with no shame. He squirms about in his seat, bucking up his hips once in anticipation before you walk back over and sit on his lap.
‘Now are you going to be nice and quiet for me?’ You warn, pointing a finger at him directly even though no one else is home. His mouth drops open as he pants, his head bobbling up at down quickly before his hands find their way to your thighs. He grips your fleshy skin and squeezes it whilst hoisting you up above his lap. You then find yourself surprised by what slips out of his mouth next, already easing yourself down over his weeping prick.
‘I’ll be such a good boy, I promise.’
It’s a meek and timid little whimper, almost as if it’s come from a small child, and as you sit yourself down onto him he falters. Jesus Christ you didn’t even know Matt was capable of uttering such words…
Screwing his face up, his head is immediately tilted back with his hands bringing you closer and deeper until you sit comfortably right across his bare thighs. ‘Jesus fuck’ he groans with his eyes rolled into the back of his head. The stretch is ungodly, and it burns so fucking good, because as you slide down, his shaft strokes all of the right places. Even you start to heavily breathe, and you have to hide your face in the crook of Matt’s neck to stop yourself from uttering a moan.
You simply sit inside of him, both of you staring at each other in disbelief. You just can’t believe this is happening. If someone had told you two days ago that you would have been sitting on your best friend’s cock, about to grind your hips, you would have laughed in their face.
But now everything is real, and Matt is getting needy once more, his impatient breaths coming through his nose with force as his hands paw at your sides.
‘Please- please move, I don’t know how much more I can take’ he mumbles with his head tilted onto your shoulder shyly once again, as if he is afraid to order you around. You nod, a little spaced out, but still ready to give him absolutely anything he wants just so you can hear his pretty fucked-out whimpers once again.
Doing as he requests you start to swivel your hips, and it makes Matt’s breath hitch within his throat. He grabs onto your tank top with an iron grip, biting his bottom lip so hard it almost draws blood. You rock smoothly and easily, and it feels fucking euphoric to have this power over Matt, the same Matt who barely payed any attention to you when you first walked into the door of his room. Now he was a babbling, whining mess, your naked lower halves stroking against each other wetly… and the noises they made together just made you throb even more.
You’re sure Matt feels that exact same churning feeling in his stomach, because he is sweating, his back leaning against his gaming chair and his head lulling to the side so he can at least focus his eyes on something that isn’t the swell of your tits right in front of his face. He’d never tell you, but you knew anyway because it was so fucking obvious. Matt was obsessed with tits. He fucking loved them, everything about them, he so badly wanted to suck on yours, so much so that his tongue was practically aching to coat saliva all over the stretch of them.
‘What’s wrong honey?’ You feign concern, staring down at a Matt who looks as though he’s about to cum because his head is tilted to the side and his mouth is hung open in pleasured suspense. But, you don’t want this to end, and you realise you’re going too fast because it’s working him up, so you slow your hips once again and his brows unfurl, that exquisite feeling of an orgasm disappearing from him for now.
You’re going to edge him. You know he can handle it, because he’s your good boy.
‘I just- you- you fuck me so good’ he struggles, his voice high and drenched in lust for your hips ‘Why have we never-’ another staggered moan struggles its way up his throat since he has his head tilted fully back now ‘-done this before?’.
‘If I’d known you’d be such a pretty fuck believe me… I would have’ you reply back, and Matt whines again at the praise. He seemed to like that… praise. ‘You know, you were right… you’re being such a good boy for me’ you muse encouragingly, and it manages to get his hips to instinctively thrust upwards. He becomes noisier, more vocal at the positive reactions to his behaviour. ‘And good boys deserve rewards… don’t they…?’ Matt whines, nodding his head dreamily before hissing once again at your hips curling in a specific direction, the pressure squeezing his prick just perfectly.
He then closes his eyes, resting his head back and focusing on the feeling. That is until he starts to whimper ‘please… please, please’ repetitively, almost within a trance. But, you decide to tease him more. You’re not quite finished with him yet, since you’re only just working up to your high, whereas Matt’s already there, simply just suspended between denial and ecstasy.
Your hand easily lurches forward as he moans, this time rather loudly and you’re able to hook your thumb into his mouth to hush him. His eyes snap open in fright, before he simply quietens down.
‘Shhh, good boys aren’t noisy… you don’t want me to start calling you a naughty boy instead, do you?’
You shake your head and smirk as Matt slowly begins to suck on your thumb, using his tongue to curl around it attractively, which keeps him quiet. You think it’s so sweet seeing Matt get all riled up about this. His eyebrows furrow and he shakes his head in embarrassment, sucking on your thumb harder as you condescend him more. ‘No? You don’t want to be a naughty boy? Well fucking behave yourself then’.
Then, you notice, that yet again Matt’s eyes are desirably fixated on your tits as they press against your tank top, your nipples fully hardened and aching to be touched by him. You know Matt wants to, you really do, and you’re amazed by how much he has managed to hold back thus far.
The thing you say next however, is the last straw for him, and he loses all self control at the thought of it. ‘Do you wanna suck on mommy’s tits baby?’. With his eyes hypnotically transfixed upon the bunching stretch of your tits, he throbs inside of you once again. ‘Yeah? You hungry for them baby boy?’. Without saying anything, Matt rips your thumb from out of his mouth and dives his hands forward. He can’t even be bothered to fully take your tank top off because instead of lifting it over your head, he simply greedily pulls the neckline down so that your tits come spilling out over the top.
His head thrusts forward within a matter of seconds, and his mouth quickly envelops your right nipple, sucking on it harshly and making you moan into the air. Fuck his tongue felt so good licking over your sensitivity. You slither around your hand, pressing it against the back of his head and holding him there, to which Matt expels a muffled moan of content at being pushed into your tits. And you know he’s in heaven because of the way he wetly kisses and nuzzles his face into every corner of your skin, until each and every part of your tit is covered in a thin layer of dripping spit that his tongue has gifted you.
He’s now onto your left one, when you tenderly stroke the back of his head and mumble a quick and teasing, ‘yeah? You like mommy’s tits baby boy?’. Matt only detaches his mouth for a second to voice a defensive but feverish ‘shut up’. One of his hands slithers up your stomach and you gasp quickly at the feeling of it grabbing onto your right tit, that was already absolutely covered in red marks and teeth scratches from where his mouth had been. His thumb now rubs you nipple in circles slowly, to return the favour of you rubbing the tip of his leaking cock earlier.
However, the more Matt sucks on your tits, the more sensitive and faster you get with your hips. This causes a chain reaction within Matt, and his tongue gets sloppier within the final anticipated build up of his high.
‘You’ve been so… so good for me, baby boy’ you struggle a praise, tangling your hand within his locks of hair and yanking his face up so that he can meet your gaze. He’s flushed and red, but just can’t help himself. ‘Mommy-‘ he whimpers meekly, looking like tears are welling up in his water line because of just how fucking good you feel stroking against his prick.
‘Do you need to come baby?’ You say with a pout, and Matt nods his head with his eyes squeezed tightly shut. ‘Well? What did I say earlier hm? Good boys deserve rewards’. Matt pants, nodding his head once again, and you already know that he so desperately wants to come.
‘Please… please can I? P-please mommy…’ he begs once again, looking into your eyes with his big glassy ones… and you finally give in. Nodding, you give him permission, then work yourself to both of your eventual highs. Matt has to literally feed his hoodie into his mouth so that he can bite down on it and not make a noise, his toes curling and his back arching once again. Your high comes straight after your see his pretty face screwing up during his, and you help him ride it out, your movements slowing the more you come down and the more sensitive you both become.
‘I can’t believe we just did that…’ he mumbles, his nose bumping against yours as you both have your eyes closed in recovery.
Your breathes are raggedy, and your tits are still exposed. Matt also still sits inside of you, his cock drenched with both of your come. But he loves it, he fucking loves it - even though he is extra embarrassed about your journey of self discovery on the way there.
You never expected matt to be the type of guy to have a raging mommy kink, but you guess now, looking back, it sort of makes sense. He’s soft and clingy with his own mother, which only makes him all the more malleable in your hands as soon as you bring out the nickname.
And god did his reaction not disappoint.
‘Let’s just not make it awkward, okay?’ You question hopefully, whilst starting to slide upwards, but Matt grabs you and forces you back down.
‘Wait!… want you to warm my cock whilst I play my game, feels too good to stop here’ he mumbles, his hands grasping the sides of your hips and firmly holding you there. Your eyes widen, but you do what he says, finding it extremely attractive that as soon as he comes, his babied whines halt, and he takes on a more commanding, dominant demeanour. Still with you sitting on his prick, he bends forward and swipes up his controller, forcing your body up closer into his as he returns upwards with his hand splayed over the break between your shoulder blades.
Before he loads back into another game, he smiles shyly at you, his contrasting elements of dominance and submissiveness being extremely attractive to you.
And still, even after you cleaned up and Matt apologised for coming inside of you, you felt almost in disbelief that you had managed to keep your cool the whole entire time and fuck him in his gaming chair like it was nothing. Maybe you were really just that close? In the end you both decided not to confront it, and instead mutually agreed that it was probably going to happen again between you sometime in the future- knowing that your already undeniable chemistry as friends was irresistible.
But somehow, each of you knew that you were both completely okay with that possibility…
Author’s notes p.2: I’m such a SLUT for gamer Matt ugh. Please, by all means request things for me to write, I do pretty much everything except incest and golden shower (don’t be weird guys). Also you’re welcome to suggest any type of variant of Matt/Chris, for example, bandana Chris - which I actually have a plan for already hehe, also let me know what u thought of this :)

𝐒𝐀𝐄 // 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒: 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓
Tumblr media
+ sae x f!reader | wc 5k | content: angst to fluff, breakups, exbf!sae, exes to lovers
notes: this is the alternate ending to conversations ! (requested by one of my anons) i’m so sorry this took so long !!! and i’m 100% sure you did not expect me to write anything this long but i’m sorry my hand slipped >_< again … i’m super rusty but i hope you guys still like this ^_^
summary: sae’s willing to throw everything else away to prove that out of everything in his life, you’re the one sure thing he needs. problem is, will you accept him after what he’s done?
Tumblr media
he’s sorry.
he repeats it in his head, over and over again, his fingers almost numb from repeatedly pressing the call button on your number—over and over and over again.
sorry, sorry, sorry.
it’s no use, he knows. it’s why he’s here—why he’s taking a flight, bare-handed, back to japan, back to home, back to you.
“please switch off your phone, sir,” the flight attendant says politely, dutily, as the plane starts to move.
begrudgingly, he resigns, but the moment he starts hearing your voicemail message play, he sighs, speaking into the receiver.
“look, i know i fucked up and it was stupid of me to keep it from you. i’m sorry, okay? and i know you don’t want to speak to me right now but i can’t just sit around and do nothing. i love you, so i’m coming back home, and we’ll talk, and then… i promise you, nothing like this will happen again.”
yes, because he’ll make sure of that. he’ll make sure he doesn’t make decisions like a stupid teenage boy and he’ll make sure to trust you at every turn instead of trying to hide anything from you because you’re right. never in the course of your relationship did you ever doubt sae.
which is a feat. because given his profession and status, any number of girls would’ve been distrusting had they been in your position. not that sae knows, what can he say he knows about girls? nothing, apparently. after today, that much is sure.
as he turns his phone on aeroplane mode, he throws his head back and looks out of the plane window. less than a day till he’ll be there to see you in person. he’s not sure if you’re going to even want to see him, but he’ll try. you deserve that much, at least.
in his head, the same words repeat over and over again.
i’m sorry.
i love you.
you’re all i ever want.
Tumblr media
by the time sae’s plane touches down, it’s night time in japan, close to midnight. you should be resting, probably tired out from crying; he can imagine, because stupid as he may be, he can at least say he knows you this much.
your words can be hard, cold, cruel, but you never are. you’re all soft inside, and you’d rather face your emotions alone than let anyone know how you feel. at least, when those emotions concern sae. you’ll keep them to yourself and keep crying, day after day, until you can’t find it in yourself to care anymore.
passport in one hand, his phone in another, he whisks off toward the taxi stand, mind in a mess because his phone’s now ringing with messages from everyone that isn’t you, probably concerning his absence from the last match of the tournament.
fuck the final match.
you probably thought he’ll play anyway. that he’ll play the match, and only afterwards would he attempt things further with you.
funnily enough, that’s what sae used to think too. before any of this happened. never in his life did he think he’d sooner rather sabotage his own career than lose you. it’s laughable, really, how much he’s so afraid of losing you that it clouds his judgement.
he should’ve been honest with you from the start instead of letting you find out on your own. it was that easy.
“could you step on it, please?” sae sighs, irritated at everything keeping him from you; the distance, the traffic, the stupidity.
the taxi driver narrows his gaze at sae through the rear view mirror, clearly annoyed. “i’d rather not get a ticket,” he replies monotonously, and sae sees that he’s driving at the speed limit. “wouldn’t want to get into an accident, would you?”
well, if he did, that would put a real hamper in his plans, so sae just shuts up and switches off his phone. none of them are you anyway. there’s no point.
as he stares out the window at the now-quiet city, he finds that, for the first time, he’s afraid of losing everything.
Tumblr media
mira [7.28pm]: make sure you get enough rest! bought some soup for you in case you haven’t eaten :)
you look at the time now—12.14am. fuck, did you really sleep the entire day away?
the sliver of moonlight that shines through your blinds is all you see next to the pitter patter of the heavy rain against your window. it’s pathetic, really, for you to take a day off just because of that argument (if you can really call it that) the night before. you couldn’t bring yourself to even watch his game like you’d promised him you always would, once upon a time.
something tells you that he should expect that, though. even without watching his game, you know they’d win. sae has always been magical like that, being the playmaker he is. you imagine he’s probably with his team now, celebrating the win. or are they asleep right now? you never could get used to the time difference. it’s too much of a headache.
aside from mira, you see a voicemail message in your inbox. from sae. it makes your heart skip a beat. are you even ready to hear him and whatever he has to say? it’s why you’d been avoiding him since yesterday—you’re afraid you’re just going to crumble and forgive and get taken advantage of. it threatens to spin the same old story you’ve always known.
you click on it anyway.
“look, i know i fucked up and it was stupid of me to keep it from you. i’m sorry, okay? and i know you don’t want to speak to me right now but i can’t just sit around and do nothing. i love you, so i’m coming back home, and we’ll talk, and then… i promise you, nothing like this will happen again.”
will it though? how much can you trust his words after he already failed once? it makes you think twice, no matter how badly you want to forgive him because you do believe him. it’s most likely nothing, and what he said is most likely true, but it makes you upset that he thought of hiding such a thing from you.
just as you toss your phone aside, you hear a series of urgent knocks on your door, the thunder ruthless outside. slowly, you get up, dragging your feet against the hardwood floors and flinching a little as you hear how loud the banging is. you’re half afraid and half agitated, halfway between hiding yourself under the covers and threatening to kill whoever it is outside.
but then you swing the door open and you’re met with that pair of teal eyes you’ve always loved, his bangs matted against his face as he pants, the rainwater drenching him from head to toe.
“y/n,” he calls out, as though it’s been ages since he last heard from you. it’s only been a day, but it’s enough to make sae feel as though it’s been forever.
you’re a little shocked, your brain trying to process every single question that comes to mind.
is that really him? why isn’t he in spain? if he played the game, the timeline doesn’t add up—how did he get here so fast? is this actually a dream? holy crap it feels so real, though? why isn’t he saying anything?
“s-sae?”
you’re not even sure if you said that out loud—you’re a little too shocked to make sense of anything right now. but the moment the corner of his lips tug upward, revealing that lopsided smile you love, you know it’s real.
he’s here.
“i… came to talk,” is all he can say. he’s tired from running up the stairs. apparently tonight, everything was against him. there was an accident right at the street before the corner of your apartment, so he’d had to end the trip early and start running for it. by the time he got here, the elevators for your block were all undergoing maintenance and unusable. but fuck if twenty flights of stairs are enough to make him turn away.
you’re blinking a lot, as if you find it unbelievable that he’s here in the first place, but you nod anyway and step aside to let him in, wet clothes and all.
“how was work today?”
it’s definitely not what he came here from spain to talk about but you entertain it anyway.
“didn’t go,” you tell him, a little coldly, but you think he deserves that much, at least. “how was the game?”
“don’t know, didn’t go.”
you two are similar that way.
“why not?”
“i had other important things to do.”
“you do? pray tell.”
it’s the first time sae’s hearing you like this and he’s sure now that he never wants to make you like this ever again—going against your nature.
it’s lame, and overused, and you deserve an essay for why he shouldn’t and wouldn’t ever do this again to you but it’s sae and he’s never sure what’s good in these situations so all he can manage to say is, “i’m so sorry.”
you cross your arms as the both of you stand in your dimly-lit living room, the storm raging on outside. it’s not like you don’t know that. that aside, you’re pretty sure he’s the most sorry he’s ever been. and if you were still the same naive girl you used to be ten years ago you probably would’ve forgiven him by now.
but you’re not.
“okay, is that all?”
it’s not what you really want to say. you kind of just want this to be a dream; that picture of him and that random girl with their lips locked, that fight that you had that made you cry to sleep. you wish it was some sort of stupid nightmare that didn’t make him ruin your trust but it did.
sae, on the other hand, seems restless. he’s taken aback, not quite sure how to get through to you because he’s never made a mistake like this before. “just- could you… forgive me?”
the ache you head in his voice breaks you, and you’re sure he can see the tears threatening to spill, but you stand with your choice. “can i? i don’t really know, to be honest,” you respond, voice soft and low, not quite daring to meet his eyes in case you falter.
the contrast between how you were and how you are kicks him in the gut and he has no one to blame but himself. he doesn’t want to, but he can sense where this is going. he’s not stupid, he just… doesn’t want to believe it.
“please… don’t do this?” sae swallows the lump in his throat, the foreign way his heartbeat quickens out of fear stumping him. there’s probably more he should say, but maybe that just wouldn’t be enough anymore. his words can’t find him and he can’t find it in himself to reach out to you. not when he realises you out of all people hate the most for having to do this.
if you just blindly follow your heart, you’d leap in his arms right now, fuck how soaked he is. because you still love him. you know that, and you think maybe he knows it too, but judging by the perplexed look on his face, he probably doesn’t realise it. that’s why your brain does the deciding for you. it had already made its choice the moment you saw that picture, the moment you saw the headlines on that gossip rag.
“i… think we should break up, sae.”
before today, if you’d told yourself that one day, you’d say these words, you wouldn’t believe it. but here you are, breaking up with the love of your life.
sae is just standing in front of you, staring at you, the happy picture of the two of you during your second year anniversary hanging on your wall haunting him this very second. the command he gave his assistant to help him get that ring for you sending him into the pits of despair. he’s so stunned he doesn’t know what to say or do.
“you’re… serious?”
there’s no expression in his eyes. they’re just dull, and dark, and nothing like how you’re used to.
this time, you’re the one trying to force the words out of your mouth, calmly, because you’re afraid that the tears will just spill out. “you’re… you’re the one who told me to be kinder to myself, right?”
sae chuckles softly, helplessly, as he realises you take every word he says to heart.
Tumblr media
EIGHT YEARS AGO
it was beyond him why you let yourself be subjected to this. nobody was a saint, but surely you deserved better than to be treated like trash?
sae understood a little of where you were coming from. it was hard to let go of a three-year relationship, but having you visit him crying in the middle of the night wasn’t exactly what he would condone.
“you can do better than him, you know that right?”
the words slipped out of his mouth before he knew it. he’d once sworn that he wouldn’t meddle in your relationship, that he’d let you figure it out on your own, but your heartaches were getting too often those days that sae just couldn’t hold it in anymore.
it probably wasn’t the best thing to say to you, considering how you were bawling your eyes out and staining his entire jersey with your tears, but sae was never one to filter his words.
“everyone says that.”
which tells sae you didn’t believe that.
“which means there’s some truth there,” he sighed, leaning back against the couch as you continued to bury your head in his chest. sae saw rin from the corner of the room, peaking out of the hallway and gave him a quick wave to signal him to leave them alone.
“i… don’t know what to do.”
you rarely ever did. having been your friend for the past four years before this taught sae two things: one, you gave your all for your relationship, and two, you were one of the kindest people he’s ever known. (and by extension, it simply meant you knew what had to be done, but you refused to do it.)
sae took a deep breath, eyes gazing up at the ceiling before he resumes, “i don’t know why you let people treat you like that.”
you stayed quiet, sniffling, though it’s getting softer now, so sae continues.
“you know, you’re one of the nicest people i know,” sae told you, fingers absentmindedly stroking your hair—the way he always wanted to but never let himself admit. “which is why it kinda sucks that you’re so stupid to let yourself be hurt by that asshole over and over again.”
the both of you chuckled at that. sae was glad to know you understood he meant only well.
“stop… letting people hurt you and then letting them get away like that, okay?” he said it softly, but you definitely caught it. “be kinder to yourself, fucks sake.”
he felt your fingers curl, gripping at his shirt as you stopped yourself from crying. you looked up at him that night, smiling as your tears dried, and sae remembered telling himself that he’d never want to be the reason you had to feel upset.
“when you say it like that, how can i say no?” you joked, laughing, wiping the last of your tears away. “besides, even if i was still being stupid, i’d always have you with me, right?”
Tumblr media
sae remembers.
he remembers not answering you, but he remembers thinking yes, always. and he has a feeling you knew back then too, that sae would always be there for you regardless.
only if it’s you.
maybe even back then, you already knew how he felt for you. and you would always listen to him. you’d always believe in him. now he feels even more stupid for everything that transpired. with his words thrown back at him, he finds himself speechless.
“you’re right,” he replies, voice hoarse, his gaze dropping to the floor. sae was being stupid, and he’s crazy if he thinks he’ll be let off that easy.
you’re sniffling a little, and he does you the courtesy of not looking at you even though you’re already turning away. “i’ll mail you your stuff.”
“it’s fine, i’ll get rin to help me take ‘em.”
it’s a diplomatic breakup. polite, nothing out of line, just two adults deciding that maybe now just isn’t the time.
after a long pause, sae gets the guts to speak. “you know you’re the only one for me, right?” because he feels like maybe you’d been doubting it recently and he doesn’t want you to feel worthless. maybe it has the adverse effect and maybe it’s selfish but he needs you to hear that.
you don’t acknowledge it, and you barely acknowledge him, even as he turns to walk out the door. this time, you’re the one not giving the answer, but sae feels like he knows how you feel anyway. you need time away from him. a proper break from him. so sae leaves wordlessly, clinging on to hope that maybe one day, he’ll be deserving of you again.
the moment sae closes the door, you fall to the floor, wailing into your cushion pillow, having one of the worst nights of your life.
Tumblr media
THE NEXT WEEK
annoying jr [10.48am]: oi stupid, i’m here.
—followed by an incessant ringing of your doorbell.
when you groan and swing the front door open, you’re greeted by a smirking rin. at least he hasn’t changed one bit since you’d known him when he was a kid. well, at least not to you.
“did you have to ring it so obnoxiously?” you whine, plopping down on your couch, burying your head in the leather seats.
rin shuts the door behind him, scoffing. “you’re the one who always used to wake up late,” he quips, rolling his eyes (you don’t have to see it, you just know how he’s going to react).
“and someone was always the third party on dates,” you snap back, sticking your tongue out at him.
he deadpans, clicking his tongue in annoyance. “hey, wasn’t my fault my stupid brother kept using me as an excuse to go out.”
right, because back then his parents were a lot more strict than they are now, back before they didn’t know you.
realising that the mood had grown a little somber, rin clears his throat, changing the subject. “how’s work so far?”
you chuckle under your breath, finding it funny how both the brothers’ go-to question is to ask about your work. though, they’ve never been that good in conversations so you can’t blame them.
“it’s fine, promotion period’s coming up so i’m preparing for that,” you respond lacklustrely, getting up off the couch, dragging your feet to your bedroom before resurfacing just ten seconds later, carrying a box full of sae’s things.
it’s full of his clothes, care products and the like, but mostly clothes, because you’d realised you liked to steal his jerseys, wear them like they’re your own, but mostly because they smell like him, remind you of him when he’s not physically around and makes you feel better.
doesn’t make you feel good when you have to pack them up, though. you cried all the way again. pathetically. but rin doesn’t have to know, so you keep up your unbothered facade.
rin takes the box from you, thankfully not mentioning his brother. “hope you get that promotion then,” he says politely, though you sense he might have something else to say that he doesn’t know if he should.
you sigh, because sometimes rin looks like a neglected younger brother and you don’t have the heart to ignore him like sae does sometimes. “go ahead, say what’s on your mind.”
it takes just a moment of hesitation before rin heeds your words. “did you see sae’s interview last night?”
part of you doesn’t want to think about anything related to sae, but most of you still misses him, so it’s a canon event that you still look out for any and every news of him. it’s sad and pathetic and that’s why you make extra care not to mention any of that to anyone.
“nope, was it about their recent win?”
you try to go on as per normal, like sae isn’t just the love of your life that you still wanted.
“mhm.” rin, at least, doesn’t tease you about it. whether he means to or not, you’re grateful for that. “they asked him, though. about that game.” (but of course, you knew that already.)
ah, that game. the game that he abandoned to come find you. the game that led up to your breakup. the game that sae probably had to pay dearly for for knowingly ditching.
“oh, i see. what about it?”
a resigned sigh leaves rin’s lips as he looks at you with the full sincerity of a younger brother concerned with his older brother’s fuckup. “he… really loves you, you know? he’s just… stupid.”
you snort at his last remark, both of you breaking out into a small laughter. it’s bittersweet, thinking about how this might be the last time you see rin, but you’ll probably get over it. you’ll get over this, and sae, and move on someday—now if only you could get yourself to want that.
“i know,” you mutter quietly, deciding that it’s best not to speak too much about it. it’s dumb, considering everything that happened, but his words made you feel relieved, even if just for a second.
just before he leaves, you give him one last hug. “thanks, rin.”
THREE MONTHS LATER
“please don’t give me another heart attack like last time.”
sae huffs, annoyed, although he knows he probably deserves that. his poor assistant went through hell trying to appease everyone on the team due to sae’s last stunt. luckily, there are exceptions made for the best soccer player on the team, so no punishment was dire enough that he had to get kicked.
“i’m just going out for some air.” sae leaves before his assistant can get any words out, entirely too tired today to listen to anything anyone else has to say.
besides, today is a special day.
the moment he’s out of earshot, he calls one of the only contacts on his phone. for some reason, his heart is thumping wildly and his fingers are fiddling with the hem of his windbreaker. the weather is nearing negatives but somehow, he doesn’t feel it.
“hello?”
sae nearly gets a heart attack of his own when a deep, low voice is what he hears, until he realises that he recognises it.
“rin, what’re you doing there?”
he can make out the sadistic chuckle from halfway across the world. “what, disappointed?” (if sae could punch him right now he would.) “relax, we’re just at her birthday dinner and she’s busy,” he explains, though sae doesn’t nearly care about any of that other than the fact that he wants to talk to you.
“where’s y/n?”
“she’s the birthday girl, people are lining up just to take pictures with her,” rin raises his voice over the background, and sae’s never been more frustrated. “she’s taking pics with some handsome guy right now, and he’s got his hands around her waist,” rin whistles right after, and sae can just sense his smugness through the phone.
whether what his brother said was true or not, sae is in no position to be jealous anyway. (even though he is and he’s sporting an unamused frown that’s enough to scare the living daylights out of anyone watching him.)
“wish her happy birthday for me then.”
rin snorts. “sure. disappointed you didn’t get to hear her—” sae hangs up before he can be subjected to anymore of his brother’s nonsense. all he really wanted was to just hear your voice, but he won’t be greedy.
staying friends was already a miracle. that’s only possible because you have a heart of gold, and he knows that if he ever pushes it too much, he might just risk losing you forever and he knows he can’t have that. so for now, this’ll do.
he’ll wait, no matter how long he has to.
later that night, when the moon is high up in spain, sae receives a notification from you. there, attached in your thread is an audio message.
“itoshi sae… thank you.”
the little laugh you leave at the end is enough to make him smile at his phone. he counts his blessings for you, and starts counting down to the days he has left in spain. if he wants you, he needs to go all in.
Tumblr media
ONE YEAR LATER
“you ready yet? i’m at your lobby.”
sae can just barely make out your panicked state from the other line. you’re late, and you know he’s fine with waiting, but because you’re a perfectionist, you really really don’t want him to have to.
“yeah, just gimme like, five minutes!” which sae knows translates to i actually need twenty but i’ll rush. there’s a certain satisfaction it gives him—knowing that he knows you in these ways that nobody else can.
“take your time, i have to pump some gas anyway, running low,” he tells you, an excuse which you accept right away because it’s convenient.
sae doesn’t even need any gas. it’s full, so he parks his car by the entrance and waits inside, turning up the air conditioning because he knows you’ll be sweating a little by the time you inevitably still choose to rush down.
it’s exactly one year since the last time he wished you happy birthday (through rin). and this year, he’s happy enough he gets to actually take you out. the past year’s been filled of sae restarting the relationship from ground zero—back to being friends and gradually coming back again to where you are now, dating. sure, it’s taxing having to do it all over again, but he’d do this however many times you want him to.
Tumblr media
SIX MONTHS AGO
“hmmm, i dunno how to feel, i kinda like this.”
sae had been calling you up often, and he feels good inside knowing that you might miss him as much as he misses you.
“kinda like what?” he asked, wishing that he could see your expression right now.
“kinda like you chasing me all over again,” you giggled, shameless with your words. “what if i just never agree to be your girlfriend again? what if i just make you chase after me forever?”
he knew for a fact that you weren’t that sadistic, but even so, his answer would still be the same. “then i’ll stick in this phase with you. forever.” although that would render the ring that he bought for you useless.
“oh really?”
sae hummed in faux contemplation. “nah, maybe not. maybe i’ll just ditch you and run off with ryusei or something.”
he got a laugh out of you for that.
“ryusei? not even some other girl, but ryusei?”
sae chuckled—he still remembered his mistake. and he’d never put you in a position to feel that way again. even if you two were just joking around.
“y/n, there’s no one else except you.” he was rarely ever serious like this, especially considering how you bantered as friends, but sometimes, he knew he had to. nowadays, more than anything, he just wanted to know that you had no doubts about how he felt for you.
you didn’t give any response to that, but considering how you started to ease up around him even more after that, sae felt like maybe there was a solid hope there of reviving this after all.
Tumblr media
the knock on his window brings him back into the present, your pretty face doing wonders in lighting up his mood.
as you get into the passenger seat, sae steals a glance at you from head to toe—you’re so beautiful and so worth the wait and you’ll always be.
“so, where are you taking me today, mr itoshi sae?”
he leans back against his seat, tilting his head as he looks at you, feigning contemplation. “depends, ms l/n y/n, do you trust me?”
you press your lips into a line, the corners threatening to tug upwards. you’re so adorable that sae’s actually going to go insane but he dons a straight face like he always has because letting you know the power you have over him is more than you need to know.
“i think it’d be a little weird if i couldn’t trust my boyfriend.”
suddenly it’s like time stands still and sae’s hands are stuck on the steering wheel and he’s left staring into space wondering if he heard you right. boyfriend? he turns around to look at you, teal eyes searching your own for answers but all he sees is a smirk on your face—you definitely know the power you have over him.
“wow, want me that bad, huh?” you joke, giggling as you tell him to hit the gas. “i… wasn’t kidding though.”
and as he pulls out of the parking lot, he thinks about the little velvet box that sits in his jacket pocket, thinks about the fact that he’s one of the luckiest people in the world thanks to you. heat rises to his cheeks, and he has to look away from you.
“you know one day you’re still gonna be mrs itoshi, right?”
this time, you laugh—but not like you think it’s a joke, more like the kind where you think was there even any other option? and even then, you offer him assurance.
“there’s nothing i want more.”

♡ SLEEPING ON THE COUCH AFTER AN ARGUMENT
Tumblr media
FEATURING: sugawara koushi, kageyama tobio, ushijima wakatoshi
WARNINGS: hurt/comfort (ish), fluff, gn!reader
Tumblr media
SUGAWARA KOUSHI
“let’s not fight anymore, the couch must be uncomfortable for you to sleep on,” your boyfriend speaks as his hand is gently put on your shoulder. he has been sitting on the floor, right by the couch for a couple of minutes now, but this is the first time he speaks up. you should’ve known that he wouldn’t let you go to sleep in such an uncomfortable place, especially not after a fight. “we don’t have to talk about it right now, i just want you to come to bed so you’ll have a good nights sleep. if you don’t want to cuddle, we don’t have to, just don’t sleep out here.”
sugawara begins to brush his fingers through your tangled hair and sighs, waiting for you to reply or move. it takes a little bit, but you eventually begin to sit up, now looking down at the man who is still sitting on the floor, wearing the pajamas he put on hours ago. “there you are. come on, let’s head to bed,” he reaches his hand out for you to take which you do, allowing him to lead you into the bedroom where the two of you lie down without you saying a word to one another.
he watches as you get under the covers and once again turn your back to him, so he strokes your arm gently. “i’m sorry for earlier, sweetheart. it’s been a long week for the both of us and we aren’t in our right minds. just know that i’m not mad at you for anything, it may have seemed like it earlier, but i promise you that it was stress that has been built up by my co-workers, not you,” sugawara explains as he eventually moves his hand away from you so you’ll get the space you need.
as you don’t say anything, he closes his eyes and attempts to fall asleep. the two of you usually never go to sleep without solving a fight, but he won’t force you to try and talk to him either, knowing that it might just cause the frustration to grow. so he tries his best, hoping he’ll wake up in the morning and be able to talk to you, but he can’t sleep like this, not knowing whether you’re mad at him or not. those thoughts are however put to sleep as you finally wrap your arms around his middle and nuzzle your face into the crook of his neck. “i’m sorry, i don’t want to fight.”
a slight smile spreads over his lips and he presses a gentle kiss to your temple. “we’re good, baby. let’s just go to sleep together now. i love you.”
Tumblr media
KAGEYAMA TOBIO
he sighs when he finds you already sleeping on the couch, not having spoken to him since he went to take a shower in hopes to rid of all the frustration and stress that’s been taking over for the last couple of days. volleyball practices have become more as him and his team are about to go into a tournament in just two days, so the stress has truly gotten to him, but also to you. he’s aware of the fact that you’re stressed about not being able to come with him for his upcoming games due to school work, so you try to spend as much time with him as possible, but it’s difficult when he’s barely home.
kageyama wants to be with you more than anything in the entire world, but the time often flies away when he’s practicing and the time for you decreases into only a few hours at night when you’re already asleep. when you wake up in the morning, he’s either making a quick breakfast for himself and gives you a kiss goodbye before leaving or he’s already left without a word. he’s never able to wake up beside you nor come home when you aren’t asleep.
today he was tired after hours of practicing and even though he had been looking forward to seeing you as he would finally get home a little earlier, he didn’t expect himself to be met by you with tears in your eyes as you begged for him to stay home the next day so the two of you could spend time together before he had to leave. it wasn’t possible, not now when it’s only a few days left until the tournament, his coach would kill him.
so here he is, standing by the couch, contemplating every single life choice he’s made. what did he even do to deserve someone who keeps trying when he is barely ever there? how come you stay when you never get to talk to him? he certainly doesn’t know, but something he does know is of his love for you. “i’m sorry,” he whispers while laying down behind you on the couch. his arms wrap around your waist as he buries his face into your neck. “i’m gonna come up with something to spend time with you before i leave, i swear. i love you so much, so so much. i wish i could be a with you all the time…”
Tumblr media
USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI
he sits on the edge of the couch, leaning back against the cushions while looking at you who’s already sleeping. you would be in bed if it wasn’t for him and his stubbornness. ushijima injured his arm during his last practice and had been told by doctors not to work out for at least a month, but how did you find him when you got home from work? carrying weights back to their place as if he had just been training. how could you not scold him when he was risking his own arm getting even worse?
at first, he wasn’t agreeing to anything you said as he kept on saying that it wasn’t a big deal and that “it doesn’t even hurt anymore”. but as you only became more furious about the fact that he wouldn’t listen and then went to sleep on the couch instead of in bed with him, he slowly but surely began to understand that he was in fact making his arm worse. you had the right to be worried, but ushijima had no right being so stubborn.
“i’m really sorry for not listening to you,” your boyfriend mumbles as he searches for your hand to hold, giving it a gentle squeeze. “i won’t work out again until the doctors tell me that it’s okay, i promise. it was stupid of me to not listen to either them or you,” he sighs and closes his eyes for a moment, drowning in his own stupidity until he can hear you stir.
“you always make me worry about you so much, you’re so stupid,” you mumble while sitting up, wrapping your arms around his neck. “next time i find you like that, i might actually commit a crime,” usuijima chuckles lightly and shakes his head. “i won’t do it again, i swear. i will listen to your worries from here on out.”
he eventually climbs onto the couch and wraps his arms around your waist. “i hope your arm doesn’t hurt too much now,” you mumble, stroking his hair. ushijima shakes his head and flashes you a soft smile. “it doesn’t, thankfully. thank you for looking out for me, darling.”

argue with you | s. es
valedictorian!eunseok x debate team leader!reader | 6.6k words
a request that i really enjoyed writing. part two here!
contains: academic rivals, semi public shenanigans, hand stuff (f. and m. receiving.)
Tumblr media
you loved debate. you joined it because it was a mix of two things you loved in life, arguing with people and winning. you were grateful that you were able to get close with the people on the debate team too, finding kids your age with such interesting minds. you loved everyone on your debate team and they loved you, so it was no surprise when you were unanimously voted the leader of the debate team. life was perfect on the debate team.
until eunseok joined.
it was a normal day after school, following your friends as you walked in a group to the debate practice room.
“our sponsor said someone new is joining the team.” giselle said to your group.
“this late?” wonbin asked.
“technically the season has barely started. we are still prepping for tournaments.” yunjin said.
your crew was behind you as you opened the door to the debate room. you looked back at them, not expecting anyone to be in the room yet.
“yeah but still. unless he has previous knowledge about debate he will just drag the rest of us down.” you said.
the shocked expression on yunjin’s face told you everything you needed to know. eunseok sat at one of the tables, hearing everything you said about him.
you didn’t hate eunseok when he first joined. you actually felt pretty bad for making such a terrible first impression. eunseok was also projected to be the valedictorian, you could never bring yourself to hate someone who was so smart. you immediately apologized, saying you didn’t know he was in the room but he said nothing in response. eunseok being indifferent towards you was a first. many gravitated towards you or spoke about you in high regard. being liked came easily for you, so the fact that eunseok couldn’t be bothered irked you to no end.
you were surprised you had never crossed paths with eunseok before. you never had him in any of your classes despite both of you being enrolled in the same curriculum. you didn’t know him, your social circles didn’t collide either. he had joined the debate team late in the semester, wanting a final thing to put on his college applications. you thought it was ridiculous. he was already top of his class what more did he need?
because eunseok joined the debate team with such high markings he came with an attitude you didn’t like. he was careless, didn’t take notes and always debated in the affirmative. he was novice at best, always trying to take you on in policy debates. at first it was easy to crush him, pointing out his ad populum fallacies and taking advantage of his lack of knowledge. he had it coming, challenging the best debater on the team. he refused to study so you threw the book at him each time, winning your debates with ease. people on your team always watched the arguments. they were ooo’ing and ah’ing as you two fought it out.
you couldn’t help but get even more upset at eunseok remaining nonchalant through every debate. even if he got hit with a penalty or his argument was rebutted he’d let it wash off him like rain, shrugging his shoulders before moving to the next topic. you wanted to best him, you wanted to see him break a sweat.
to your disliking he quickly improved. it was unfair, someone so uninvolved with debate coming in and learning everything with ease. it wasn’t long before he had you struggling to counter his arguments. when he first argued with you in a negative it filled you with rage. how did he get so good? it didn’t help that he swayed the lay judges, his confidence when speaking made the average person who didn’t know about policies believe that eunseok had the answers. his attitude didn’t just win over the lay judges, but also your team. he won them over quickly, they thought he was charismatic and funny.
it wasn’t long until he was voted to be the co-leader of the team and your individual events turned to public forum debates with eunseok as your partner.
“looks like we are going to be getting real close.” eunseok said, looking at your names side by side on the competition sheet.
you scoffed and rolled your eyes. you believe the debate gods had it out for you. everyone else on debate said that you two were the dream team and your probability of winning was high. your probability to win alone was higher, and eunseok would just drag you down.
“just don’t get in my way, eunseok.” you said.
you looked up at the man with the most hate you could muster in your body. you almost felt bad when you saw sadness wash across his face, but it was quickly replaced with his same nonchalant expression. he shrugged his shoulders and put his hand on your tense ones. you got indignant from his touch but he smirked.
“we will do well.” eunseok said simply.
no matter how much you hated to admit it, you two did make a good team. his confidence and talent for public speaking combined with your arguments you two were unbeatable. it wasn’t long before you took your team to nationals for the first time in your school’s history. it was becoming harder and harder to hate eunseok. it turned into a mild disliking that formed because of a misunderstanding. you were determined to keep up appearances, rolling your eyes when he would be mentioned or when he’d put his arm on your shoulder and call you ‘partner’.
you started to think eunseok liked trying to piss you off. he would always be in your personal space, walking behind you through crowds of people, saying your name constantly, always having that teasing tone to his voice. he was also always stuck to you, following you everywhere especially at debate tournaments. he sat next to you on the bus, lifting up your headphones to talk to you directly in your ear.
“we’re here.” he said.
you snatched your headphones away from him and gave him your best glare. eunseok developed the nasty habit being annoying just to get a rise out of you. some of the only times you’d see him break the calm demeanor he had debating was when he’d smile after telling you a bad joke or stepping on the backs of your shoes. each time you rolled his eyes and he would place his hands on your shoulders. it seemed like his favorite place to be sometimes, shaking you lightly as you shrugged him off.
you get up from the front seat of the bus. your team progressively woke up from their naps. the drive was about an hour and a half. you saw your team yawn and stretch, looking for their things in the seat. you stretch too, turning around getting ready to read the itenerary and the list for debates today.
“everyone pay attention.” eunseok said from his seat beside you.
no one told eunseok to sit next to you on the bus. you assumed it became an unspoken rule, the leader and co-leader sitting side by side. you considered this to be a plus as well, just in case you wanted to go over anything with eunseok before the tournament. you two rarely spoke on the bus ride to competitions though. it would always be a surprisingly not awkward silence.
eunseok didn’t have to raise his voice to get everyone to listen to him. you envied that about him, his ability to command a room. all eyes are on you as you clear your throat.
“okay everyone. first and foremost, happy debate day.” you say smiling
“happy debate day!” everyone says back it back to you in unison.
everyone cheers and you look at the clipboard with the debate assignments.
“okay so for our IE’s we have giselle, yeji, and anton.”
eunseok watches you read off their names like a teacher doing roll call. giselle, yeji, and anton all give you a nod after hearing their name to show they heard you. eunseok watched as you went down the list of names on the paper, quickly scanning for to see who would be debating. eunseok lingered on your furrowed eyebrow for a split second before brushing a piece of hair out of his face.
“for our policy debates we have our freshmen duos eunchae bahiyyih and kyujin jiwoo. this is their first national competition ever.” you exclaim and so does the rest of the bus. everyone cheers for the four girls, sinking in their backseats giggling.
“it’s a busy day for all of us but if you can please sit in on their debate to silently cheer them on.” you emphasis silently to look at eunseok.
he shrugs his shoulders and the bus giggles. how was he supposed to know he wasn’t allowed to clap after a good argument?
“we have yunjin running as support so don’t be afraid to run your notes by her, especially our IE’s.” you say, pointing your hand towards yunjin.
yunjin raises her hand from her seat in the middle to show everyone where she is. you rack your mind trying to think what other operational things you can say. you tap tap the clipboard against your hand, trying to see if the sound can rattle your mind enough to remember other things.
“don’t be afraid to approach the senior members of the team if you need help. also please travel in pairs if you’re going to the restroom. lunch is at 12:30 in the cafeteria. we will also get our room assignments for the hotel tonight so please be don’t skip it. oh, and our sponsor and chaperones are here too, they just arrived a little earlier to set up. everyone has their numbers right?” you ask.
everyone on the bus gives you the affirmative. you set your clipboard down at your side, almost done with your piece.
“this is our first nationals our school has ever been to so lets have fun and let’s win.”
you say your final line expecting cheers. everyone on the bus smiles or looks at you expectantly waiting to say something.
you’re about to ask what’s wrong until you see eunchae’s hand in the back row seat raise. you look to her and you can see several people holding back laughs. you look to your side and see eunseok’s shameless toothy grin.
“eunchae what’s up?” you ask.
you hear little concealed laughs. eunchae does her best at hiding a smile from her face.
“who’s doing the public forum debate?” eunchae asks.
her four friends all laugh and you can feel your face getting hot. you clear your throat, trying to show you’re unbothered.
“oh. for our public forum debate it’s eunseok and i.” you say.
you don’t know why you sound bashful, or why eunseok looks down with a smile on his face. you try to say not funny but your voice is drowned out when the bus erupts in ooh la la’s and almost paradise’s. you hide behind your clipboard and eunseok takes the lead, standing up beside you.
“don’t worry about us. we got this win, right partner?” eunseok asks.
you shrug him off again as people file off the bus, taking their name badges from you. when it’s just you and eunseok left you nearly push him back down in the seat with the amount of force you put behind giving him his name tag. eunseok takes the tag silently and he moves backwards further into the bus so you can get off first.
“don’t feed into it, please.” you say.
your eyes are trained on the clipboard, rereading names and debate times over and over again. eunseok walks behind you closely, like a mother watching her child walk through a parking lot. he picks up his speed so he can stand beside you. eunseok contemplates something, his normal pace of walking falters for only a second. he then speeds past you, joining the rest of the team as they enter the school building. you follow behind them, confused as to why your heart dropped when eunseok didn’t try to crack a joke at your expense.
you watched him all day. your debate didn’t start until after lunch, so you served as a mentor for the other events happening before you. you gave the freshmen tips on what to say during a debate, knowing your arguments strengths and weaknesses to make your arguments more solid. they gathered in your information with open ears, running things they were going to say by you just to double check the validity of their arguments. you watched eunchae nod her head enthusiastically as she made notes in the margins of her clipboard.
when you were done talking to them, you could see those same people going to eunseok. you wondered what they were talking about, until you saw eunseok show them posture and how to give facial expressions to help sway the lay men. in the middle of eunseok showing bahiyyih how to calm her nerves he looked up and locked eyes with you. any other time you would’ve rolled your eyes at eunseok, continuing with whatever you were saying. but this time you found yourself being cut off mid-sentence, suddenly looking down with a smile on your face.
because of your free schedule, you were able to go to almost all of the events your team was involved in. it started with the freshmen girls, kyujin and jiwoo went first. they did well, taking your advice on the notes you gave them. you watched them give good rejection speeches to the policy proposed by the other team. you knew the kyujin and jiwoo would do well, they both had siblings who were involved in debate. so when they won it didn’t come as a surprise. you gave them a big thumbs up from the back of the room and the at the pair smiled at you. when you got up to congratulate them, you saw that eunseok was sitting in the front of the debate hall. he must have been there for the whole thing.
you don’t know why it surprised you. eunseok was only competing in one event like you were, so he had all day free too. it just seemed like it was out of his character to sit in and cheer for another team, especially since you had asked the debate team to stop by if they could. you don’t know if it surprised you more that eunseok was listening attentively or that he came to the back of the lecture hall and sat by you while they got ready for eunchae and bahiyyih’s debate.
“don’t be nervous. they got this,” eunseok said. “they have a good teacher.”
you turned to look at him but he wasn’t looking at you. eunseok’s eyes were trained on the stage while volunteers set up the tables for the next debate. you smile and lean back in the seat.
“you get it.” you say smugly.
you can practically hear eunseok roll his eyes at you. he laughs lightly and you smile too. you don’t know you smile, or why teasing eunseok makes you feel a little sheepish. you’re grateful that a few people come from your team and sit by the two of you. you can only watch the first half of the debate before you and eunseok have to leave for your public forum debate.
the team wishes you luck and you ask them to stay to cheer on eunchae and bahiyyih. they listen to you, saying they’ll join in the later half if possible. you nod and leave, eunseok following behind you closely. to exit the lecture hall you had to climb a few stairs. you tried to ignore eunseok’s presence behind you, his hand ghosting the small of your back ready to catch you if you fall.
“i got it.” you said.
your words didn’t have the usual bite they had. you sounded shy if anything. eunseok tsked behind you, his hand falling back slightly but still there.
“okay princess.” he says mockingly.
the nickname is what causes you to almost trip over the steps as you exit the hall.
the trek to the debate hall is a quiet one. the silence wasn’t awkward, sometimes you preferred that so you could collect your thoughts before a debate. eunseok was the opposite—usually the chatty type. eunseok would be talking about random things not even pertaining to the debate and he would be pestering you with questions. it did help sometimes, easing the stress you felt. but this competition was important, so you wanted to lock in and focus.
eunseok watched you pace back and forth in the hallway. you would occasionally mumble something to yourself, probably some talking point you wanted to drill into your mind. eunseok reviewed all his notes the night before and on the bus ride while you slept. looking at his notes the day before helped him more than your method. he enjoyed watching you, though. the way you walked back and forth with your furrowed eyebrows, practicing your expressions. it was like eunseok was able to get a peak into your inner thoughts and the way your mind worked. over the course of the preseason he was able to learn some of your ticks as well. he saw you take your bottom lip between two fingers, a telltale sign that. you were nervous.
eunseok cleared his throat, reminding you that he was there. you looked at him with a little bit of softness, waiting for him to say something. he loved when you looked at him with a little tenderness. eunseok would never admit he liked debating with you so much because in these moments he got to see you be a little bit vulnerable. the anxiety before a debate wore down your iron resolve just a little and eunseok basked in it.
“are you ready?” eunseok asked.
“i’m a little nervous. this determines if we advance in the season.” you said.
eunseok nodded his head knowingly. he didn’t want to make a big deal out of comforting you, afraid that if he was too comforting the soft look in your eyes would disappear.
“we got this. all preseason you crushed it.” eunseok said.
“could i have even done it without you?” you said.
eunseok was taken aback by your words. you were never the type to vocalizes insecurity, especially when it came to debate. eunseok couldn’t stop his hand from going to your shoulder. your eyes grew wide before you got ahold of your expression, trying to seem as calm as possible.
“you absolutely destroy everyone in the district in independent events. i’m sure they have you in public forum so you can have more variety on your resume.” eunseok said.
eunseok watched the lightbulb go off in your head.
“i had never considered that.” you said queitly.
eunseok shrugged and took his hand off your shoulder, despite his mind begging him to keep it there. he put his hands in his pockets to ball his fists up.
“we got this. you are super smart and knowledgable about the topic.” eunseok says, face feeling hot.
before you can thank him, the assistant moderator comes outside. she motions you two into the debate hall.
the debate goes by smoothly. eunseok is the best at delivering opening statements. his tone and body language helps accurately portray what you want the audience and laymen understand. his opening statements also give you time to collect your thoughts, calming any anxiety you may have. although you were opposed to sharing the debate floor with someone, eunseok really does help calm you down. you find yourself leaning on him during some parts of the debate, and it’s comforting to see him lean on you too. you both truly do make an excellent team, coming together for the common purpose of winning.
there’s some sort of tension that begins to build during the end of the debate. after refuting an inaccuracy in the opposing teams argument, you find yourself looking to eunseok so he can give you a look that says “good job”. you even let him challenge a claim and watching him proudly as he calls out a fallacy you would call him out for during practice. eunseok smiles each time you smile at him.
when you two are announced as winners eunseok pulls you into a hug. the relief from winning the first competition of the season has you hugging him back. when you two pull away it’s a little awkward. eunseok helps put the medal on your head and you helps him too.
you two leave the debate hall to your team waiting to congratulate you. they say they didn’t doubt you would win, and you smile at all of them. you smile extra hard at eunseok and the way he praises you in front of your whole team. you take a picture together, biting your medals like it’s made of real gold. you feel eunseok’s hand rest on the small of your back while taking the photo, and you let him wrap an arm. around you waist as you two hold up your pointer finger.
if anyone in your team noticed the tension they say nothing. but you can feel it growing between the two of you. you both sit at a table helping the rest of the team with their events before lunch when giselle comes up to you.
she asks for a spare clipboard, folders, and to bring the papers the printed from the copy machine. going into the storage room is something that only leaders of the team are allowed to do. it helps prevent overcrowding or people going into the storage room that aren’t supposed to. giselle also needs to go over everything with yunjin, running to grab supplies would just take away from her precious prep time.
“i’ll go with you,” eunseok says. “just in case you have trouble reaching something.”
in any other instance you would’ve given him your signature scowl and ignore him. you don’t know you laugh at the comment, no one at your table does. they look at you like you’ve grown an extra head, cracking a smile at one of eunseok’s terrible jokes. you get ahold of yourself and start walking away, letting him follow you.
eunseok follows behind you, reeling off the fact he made you laugh. the silence you two had was a little awkward now, and you silently curse yourself for laughing.
inside of the storage room is cramped to say the least. the archaic printer takes up a majority of the space, and an even older wooden table sits in front of it. you wait for the million papers giselle printed out in complete silence. eunseok’s height actually was useful, grabbing the folders and clipboard on the very top shelf.
“good job today.” eunseok says.
you look at him only for a split second before going back to looking at the papers come from the printer.
“you too, eunseok. you’re really good at pointing out fallacies now.” you say.
“well that’s all thanks to you.” eunseok says.
it’s so cramped in the storage room he hits something as he brings his hand to scratch the back of his neck. you smile and shake your head.
“no that’s all you. you’re a fast learner.” you say.
“only because you pushed me to be.” eunseok laughs. “i know you hate me for joining so late and you think i don’t care about debate but i worked really hard to be good at it because of you.”
eunseok doesn’t know why he’s rambling off at the mouth going crazy with praising you. he finally gets you to look at him from the printer though. you have that same soft look you had outside of the debate hall.
“i don’t hate you, eunseok.” you protest. “i thought you hated me because of what i said when you first joined.”
eunseok shakes his head and laughs a little
“i was never mad about that. i understood where you were coming from completely.”
the printer finishes its job while you and eunseok look at eachother. you can’t believe you spent this whole time thinking he hated you while it was all a misunderstanding. you feel embarrassed now, after all the times you were mean to him for no reason.
“i’m sorry.” you say sincerely.
“me too.” eunseok says back.
you two are silent and you go back to looking at the copy machine. eunseok clears his throat and you look at him. his expression had changed from a sorry one to a smirk. he leans against the large table and crosses his arms.
“you know, this whole time i thought you were being mean. but was it just flirting?” eunseok says.
you visibly stiffen at his comment. you turn to him wide eyed and in shock, eunseok looks at you with his mouth slightly open, proud of the reaction he’s able to pull from you.
“i don’t know what you’re talking about.” you say, still wide eyed.
eunseok slowly closes the space between the two of you. you suddenly are very aware of everything about him. the way he looks down at you. his hands, his mouth, his eyes. he’s so close to you it leaves nothing to imagination.
“it’s okay. do you know why i joined the debate team?” eunseok says.
he’s right in front of you now, and you can smell his cologne. you never realized how tall he was as he looked down at you. you shook your head, trying to find your voice. eunseok cocks an eyebrow and you clear your throat.
“for college applications?” you say meekly.
eunseok shakes his head.
“why would i need anything else on my college application?” eunseok asks.
“i don’t know.” you said.
“i actually joined because of this girl on the team i wanted to get to know better. so unfortunate i didn’t have a single class with her after all these years.” eunseok says.
you sit there and stare at eunseok. he just confessed to joining the team solely to get to know you better. now all the doting and teasing makes sense, but you still can’t believe it.
you’re in disbelief still when eunseok puts his hand underneath your chin to tip your head upwards. you are in disbelief when eunseok puts his lips on yours. you don’t know what comes over you when you pull at the sleeves of his sweatshirt. you suddenly can’t get enough of him, you want him all over you. you want to hear him praise you a million times over. you want to hear him call you a princess again. you stick your tongue into his mouth and he does the same to you.
both of your minds and bodies operate at a million miles a minute, focused solely on feeling everything. eunseok pulls you in closer, arching his body over yours. it feels like he’s going to swallow you whole the way he towers over your frame. you feel like your set on fire when eunseok’s hand goes to your ass and you jump up. he catches you with ease.
your body’s bump into almost every structure in the storage closet. you can feel your back press against the large printer and you can hear it being bumped into as eunseok turns you around. his hand leaves your body for only a second while he clears things off of the table. you hear clipboards, papers, and other office supplies hit the ground as eunseok sets you on top of the table gently.
eunseok pulls away from your lips. he looks at you and you look at him. for just a second it is completely silent in the storage room as you two stare at one another. you see out of the corner of your eye eunseok’s chest is heaving. you both give the other a chance to leave, a chance to profusely apologize for kissing. you stay on top of the table and look at eunseok’s pouting lips, hoping he gets the hint.
eunseok brings you in again with his hand underneath your chin leading you. it is softer than the first time, eunseok looking at your lips before they connect. he instantly deepens the kiss and you guys fight for a second trying to decide who gets to lead the other. you relinquish control to eunseok when you can feel him mess with the waistband of your pants. you let him undo the belt and the buttons. you do the same to him, using your shaking hands to pull down the zipper of his dress pants.
eunseok’s slacks drop to his ankles the same time he puts his hand underneath the waistband of your panties. eunseok uses his free hand to pull you closer to the edge of the table, for better access to you. eunseok wastes no time and you don’t either, not even bothering to pull down his boxers. you both put your hands to eachother at the same time, gasping into the kiss. eunseok pulls away from the kiss to look down at you. his mouth is still slightly open and so is yours, letting out long sighs as you guys slowly figure out what the other wants. eunseok teases your folds and you wrap your hands around his twitching dick. you both give one more look, this is your last chance to pull back from him. eunseok sticks a finger in you and you start slowly stroking him. eunseok looks away from you first, muttering a curse word as he puts his face in the crook of your neck. he presses his lips to your neck and suddenly you want him to leave a mark.
you turn your head to face his as you pick up the speed of your hand. everything is rushed and you want to go as far as you can before the severity of the situation hits you. eunseok must feel the same way because he puts another finger inside of you.
“you smell so good.” eunseok says.
he still stays in the crook of your neck and other hand has moved to your back. eunseok’s hand on your back alternates between moving up and down, pulling you closer to him, and grasping at your clothes like he can’t decide how he wants to hold you. you just let out a tiny sigh in response to him, scared to speak. if you say something it might snap eunseok out of whatever trance he’s in right now, and you are selfishly enjoying the way he bends his fingers inside of you.
“you’re so pretty.” eunseok says.
eunseok’s compliment was so quiet you truly don’t think you were meant to hear it. you convince yourself that he is just saying things in the heat of the moment. you don’t say anything back to eunseok, just pick up the pace of your hand.
you can hear the table shake and slightly give underneath your weight. the creaking sound of the table mixes with the sloppy sounds of eunseok’s fingers inside of you and the wet sound of you jerking eunseok. his precum makes the job easy, you can feel it coming from his tip and lubricating his shaft. his dick is thick and heavy in your hand. you stop the intrusive thought of wondering what his dick looks like inside of his boxers. you wonder if his dick is as hot as the sounds he’s trying to muffle in your neck. you never took him for the whiny type, his sighs and quiet moans coming out in a higher pitch. eunseok pulls himself away from your neck to look down between the two of you.
eunseok is enthralled by the sight. he has never seen anyone like you, he’s never felt anything like this. he would’ve never thought he’d be here, trying to coax pretty little moans from your throat using his fingers. he wants to show you how good he is at this, but the situation and the way you look at him makes his hands unsteady. he’s positive he’s missing your clit and failing to hit those spots deep inside of you. he wishes he could take your pants off to really get inside of you and to see it all. but for now eunseok settles for fighting against the fabric of your wet panties pressed to the back of his hand as he fingers you. when you bring your head into his chest and pick up the pace he becomes more confident, doing the same action over and over again until your quiet moans become more frequent. eunseok can’t hold back his smile when your free hand grips the bicep of the hand that’s inside of you, digging nails into his skin.
“keep going.” you say breathlessly.
eunseok doesn’t falter and seeing you experience pleasure heightens his own. he can feel himself getting harder in your hand.
“i’m close.” eunseok says.
“me too. please don’t stop.” you whine into his chest.
eunseok brings you even closer to the edge of the table and you clench around him. you’re so close that you prepare yourself to bury your head into his sweater vest so your moans can’t be heard outside.
“fuck. just like that.” eunseok says.
you keep up the pace of your hand. your nails dig deeper into eunseok’s skin. his hold on your lower back tighten.
you still have eunseok in your hand and he still has his fingers inside of you when the alarm on your phone goes off. the sudden blaring sound rips you both out of your reverie, and eunseok nearly jumps away from you.
you and eunseok stay like that for only a moment. something in the air of the storage room shifts almost immediately as you both start comprehending the situation. both of your eyes widen as you look up at him and he looks down at you.
eunseok suddenly pulls his fingers out of you and you take your hand out of his boxers. your shaking hands bring the zipper of your pants up, and you can hear eunseok fumble with his slacks as he brings them back up to his waist. he moves in such a rush that he stumbles backwards, bumping into the copy machine. in any other situation you would’ve been laughing at him for being so clumsy. but now you have a mission of getting out as soon as possible, your face heating up unbelievably fast.
when your pants are on you hop off the table and grab your phone to turn off the alarm. you see several messages and calls from people on the debate team asking where you are and congratulations on your win.
“i have to go now before lunch starts.” you say.
“yeah.” eunseok says.
“i’ll see you there.” you say after a long pause.
“yeah.” eunseok says.
neither of you look at the other as your faces get even hotter. eunseok messes with his belt over and over again. you dust off your pants and adjust your clothes a million times. the tension in the closest is thick, you think you may choke on it if you don’t leave soon. you focus on everything but eunseok. you’re sure you look disheveled but it is the least of your worries. you can pop into a bathroom before heading to lunch.
you leave eunseok in the storage closet alone without looking back. the whole way to the bathroom you are looking behind you, making sure no one saw you go in there.
eunseok doesn’t leave the storage room for another five minutes after you leave. the moment you closed the door behind you eunseok crouched down the floor trying to. figure out what the hell just happened. he was still throbbing in his pants and his fingers smelled like your heat. he was so incredibly confused and out of breath he had to spend time to regain his bearings. he set up his phone to fix his mussed hair and ruffled slacks. he cleans up the storage room too, grabbing the supplies giselle had asked for.
eunseok for some reason expected you to be outside of the storage room waiting for him. he swallowed what felt like a lump in his throat as he started making his way towards the cafeteria.
you try to eat the sandwiches brought to you by the chaperones but you are too focused on what situation you were in not even ten minutes ago.  you could only manage to take a few bites before you realized you’re not hungry. you let the people at your table pick off of your food like vultures.
you don’t even dare to try and look at eunseok from across the room. after coming from the bathroom he was already there, he must have came straight there after leaving the storage room.
your hand is still sticky from him and every time you move you get the faintest smell of eunseok. you can feel his scent all over you, lingering and ominous like a storm cloud. you pray no one else can see how flustered you are.
after lunch is over the team still remains to get room assignments. you are so checked out mentally you don’t know what’s happening until you hear your group start protesting about the arrangement.
“why do they get their own rooms?” you hear eunchae ask.
“because they’re the captains and senior members of the team. also you guys signed up for these rooms.” the chaperone says.
you and eunseok are the only ones taking a solo room. something about an uneven number of boys and girls and it worked out in your favor. you need to be able to have a room to yourself so you can pace around and think about what happened in that storage room. you take your keycard and a spare just in case, sliding it in your wallet. everyone in your team floats to who their assigned with for tonight.
“we have few more debates for the day, but everyones schedule is clear for the independent events. let’s all support the three competing in that event.” you hear your sponsor say.
after eating, everyone in your teams throws away the trash and cleans the table, leaving the space cleaner than when you two arrived. you end up falling behind the rest of the group as they head towards the debate room. you’re double checking to make sure all the tables are clean and nothing was left behind when you see eunseok walking right towards you. you desperately try to look busy, wiping nonexistent crumbs off the tables. in your mind, if you don’t see eunseok he won’t see you. but he does see you, he always has.
eunseok comes up to you and you have no choice but to look at him. you get shy, focusing on the button up of his debate uniform. you are counting all the buttons on his shirt over and over again when you feel him slide something in the back pocket of your pants. you look up ti him with wide eyes, and his demeanor is calm.
“if you want to talk about what happened lights out is at 8:30. i’m in room 31.” eunseok says to you.
you don’t even get the chance to say anything to him. as soon as he’s done talking he’s gone, jogging to catch up with the rest of the debate team. you stand at the table frozen solid. when you reach to your back pocket you can feel the undeniable shape and feel of a plastic keycard.
it was going to be a long night.

Missed calls - {itoshi sae}
Tumblr media
“gosh you’re so fucking annoying. I wanted to call my girlfriend so that I could calm down from the huge amount of stress I’m already under and here you are acting like a nagging clingy psycho.” before any other words could be spoken you hung up the phone placing it on the nightstand.
Sae <3: I’m sorry.
Sae <3: y/n?
1 missed call
5 missed calls
12 missed calls
20 missed calls
hearing your phone ring once again you picked up up furiously screaming into the phone. “WHAT?” you yelled out of character, there was silence before he spoke, “you’re ignoring my calls.” without answering you slammed your phone on the nightstand not before turning on do not disturb.
you and sae had gotten in a pretty heated argument which ultimately ended with you hanging up the phone and ignoring it. he is in the states right now for a tournament so he can’t come to you. usually his sullen, dull, asshole personality would be just fine because that’s what you’re used too but this time he went too far.
he seemed like he didn’t even care. he wasn’t due to come back until next month so you opted to block his number leaving him with his “issues” that he has to deal with. if he thinks you’re clingy, fine. you’ll just go on about your business and leave him to do whatever he wanted. he always acts like he doesn’t want to be in a relationship so why not give him the freedom he’s wanted.
sae the moment those words came out his mouth felt like a dick. you were only worried because he had gotten trashed in an interview and it was shown on tv everywhere. he was frustrated and took it out of you, he knew the choice of words that he spoke was wrong but he said it anyways.
after you hung up on him he decided to wait until the morning to talk to you but his text weren’t going through and his calls weren’t either. “I’m sorry, the number you have dialed-” he tossed his phone on the hotel bed grabbing his head in frustration. his day was already starting horrible, usually you two would call each other in the morning and talk about what you’d do during the day so that you two knew when to call each other later.
two weeks passed and at this point he had called your number at least 40 times a day. any free second he had he would call you or text you, this is the longest you two had ever gone without talking to each other and he was seriously getting worried. getting back to his hotel for the night he laid down on his back holding his phone above his face. his phone was basically stuck on your contact card and that was the only form of you he had besides the endless albums of you in his photos or his rotating lockscreen picture.
he backed out of your contact and went to his brother’s reluctantly pressing the call button and waiting for him to answer. “what?” he spoke and sae was already rolling his eyes at his brother attitude. “can you check on y/n?” rin let out an annoyed sigh and sae could hear shuffling on his end of the phone. “y/n are you okay?” he heard you say yeah in the background confused then he heard more shuffling before rin spoke up again.
“she’s fine.” he was about to hang up but sae needed to ask, “why are you with y/n?” “we have dinner ever sunday together.” before any more questions could be asked rin hung up the phone leaving sae feeling more empty than he already was.
a month passed and now with him coming home he was excited to see you but he needed to win this game before going home to you.
you were sitting in your car outside of the stadium debating on whether or not you wanted to go in. you had never missed any of his home games and you didn’t want to start, you just kept going back to your argument. the night sae called rin, that was the only time he had ever come over to yours and sae’s apartment for dinner. you had spoken to him about what happened and even though him and his brother aren’t really that close he gave you good advice.
“sae is an asshole, that not a secret. he doesn’t think before he speaks and doesn’t think about the damage his words can cause. all I have to say is he has never called me for anything relatively important but he just called me to ask if you were okay. I can’t speak for him, he said what he said and now he’s paying the price for it. only speak to him when you are ready.” he ended with that before leaving.
last night when you unblocked his number all the messages and missed calls that you missed flowed through your phone all at once. tears prickled on your bottoms lash line reading all of his text messages. the last one had you crying yourself to sleep while hugging his pillow.
sae <3: this is the last message I’ll send tonight. tomorrow we’re coming back and I would love to see you. I know you are probably still upset with me and I would be too. I hurt the person I love so bad to the point where we haven’t spoken in a month. I miss you, I love you and if you come to the game and even though I’m we haven’t worked things out, if you wear my jersey tomorrow I’ll know that we’ll be okay. sweet dreams princess i love you.
he was right, you were still pissed but you missed sae, prior to the argument he’d been gone for a month already and that made you miss him so much more. the sheets didn’t smell like him anymore nor did his pillow. you wanted sae back but you weren’t going to make it easy for him. unzipping your jacket you slipped the long sleeve over your head then pulled down the mirror to fix your hair and makeup.
~
you sat in the VIP section in your normal seat playing on your phone until the game ended. everyone stood up leaving the area while you stayed put, you could see sae being interviewed by someone but because of the distance you couldn’t tell if he was actually paying attention which irked your nerves. he was always so rude to people whenever they interviewed him but went through with them because you asked.
a couple of minutes passed and once almost all the people were gone you noticed sae started to walk towards your direction so you stood up and walked down the steps stopping at the railings that was separating the two of you. “y/n…” he spoke stopping right infront of you, looking at him you kind of glared trying to hide how much you missed him. more silence filled his ears and out of defeat he dropped his head taking a deep breath.
suddenly a small quiet sniffle sounded and he looked back up with tears in his eyes. “I can’t lose you, I fucked up I know I did. if you want to punish me some more then do it but please stop ignoring me I physically can’t do it anymore, I can’t live without you.” standing there you looked at him in shock, he’s never cried before especially over something like this.
“meet me in the tunnel.” “no.” he quickly responded jumping up and climbing over the railing. he landed immediately taking you into his arms, you gasped at his action but ultimately wrapped your arms around him gently rubbing his back. for a quick second you could feel him shaking but you may have been imagining it.
he pulled back keeping his arms wrapped around you so that he could admire what he missed in these two months. “you look gorgeous, I love you princess.”
“I know you do, you and your 1,882 calls” he laughed awkwardly as you pressed a small kiss on his sweaty jawline smiling up at him. “I love you too.”

The Championship Game of 1985 is only a quarter of the way done, and Eddie is already certain that it’s not going to be a Hawkins victory.
It kinda blows, honestly. It’s boring, like correctly guessing the ending of a movie five minutes in.
And yeah, sue him, maybe high school basketball is a legitimate source of entertainment—he can admit that in the safety of his own head, at least.
Take, for example, the first game of the ‘83 tournament, when a timeout was called with only seconds remaining: the Tigers’ last hope of winning was to miraculously sink a shot with the fraction of time they had left. The tension in the air was palpable as the team formed a huddle—Eddie couldn’t hear anything apart from students chanting, but he stood on his tiptoes and found a gap in the crowd, just in time to read Steve Harrington’s lips: “I’ll make it.”
And he had—with a goddamn stunning full-court jump shot, too, the ball falling through the net just before the buzzer sounded.
Like, come on. Eddie would only admit it under pain of death, but that definitely rivals the intensity of any worthy campaign.
But he can see none of that excitement now. The Tigers have had few opportunities to even get the ball, and whenever they do, Billy Hargrove seems to have taken it upon himself to hog the damn thing, like it’s a symbol of his masculinity.
Of course, he loses the ball—again—and his nostrils flare with anger.
Maybe that’s why Eddie notices it. He’s checked out of paying attention to the game itself, instead focusing on the jaded expressions of Hargrove’s teammates.
As the ball makes its way down center court, Eddie’s eyes are instead drawn to Steve Harrington. He looks pissed, wiping sweat off his forehead and shouting what looks like some pretty choice words at Hargrove’s back.
Hargrove doesn’t seem to acknowledge it, but for just a moment he goes completely still, and all Eddie can think is danger.
It’s covert, the way it’s all done. Hargrove’s move is quick and calculated; he steps far enough away afterwards that it looks like the whole thing is the fault of a rival player.
But Eddie sees the subtle shove. Sees Steve lose his footing.
He goes down hard.
Winces ripple through the audience. Eddie hears Robin Buckley from band suck air through her teeth, then ramble, “Shit, do you think it’s really bad? Beth Wildfire, on my soccer team, her bone, like, came out of her whole knee, you could see it, must’ve been six inches—”
It doesn’t look like anything as gory as that has happened; Steve is already up, and from the redness of his face, it initially seems as if the only thing that’s been hurt is his pride.
But as Eddie sidles to the end of the front row, within earshot of the bench, he sees that Steve can’t put his weight on one ankle, sees the telling way he grits his teeth while speaking.
“I can keep going,” he says, even as Jason Carver’s getting pulled up to replace him.
The coach barely spares Steve a glance, clapping Carver on the shoulder as he jogs onto the court.
“Get someone to take you over to the nurse.”
Steve’s spine goes rigid. “But I can—”
“Look, I don’t have time for this.” The coach finally looks at Steve directly, pointing a stern finger at his chest. “You’re benched, Harrington.”
Steve visibly deflates. He opens his mouth, but no words come out, and then he glances to the side, as if suddenly aware that he’s drawing attention to himself.
This time, when his teeth clench, Eddie thinks that it’s more from embarrassment than pain.
“Whatever,” Steve mutters, and he limps out of the hall—close enough that he clips Eddie by the shoulder as he goes.
Eddie doesn’t know that he’s made a decision until he’s already moving, stepping to the side.
He turns and heads for the exit.
There’s a jeering call from the bench: Mark Lewinsky.
“Aw, what are you gonna do, Munson? Nurse him back to health?”
Obscene moaning noises, punctuated with laughter.
Eddie rolls his eyes.
He finds Steve in the corridor, bracing himself with a hand against the wall. There’s a couple of pictures on the floor, class photos taken for the yearbook that had been pinned up; Steve must have inadvertently torn them down as he grappled for balance.
“Go away, Munson,” he says without looking. “Go back to the game.”
“I’ve kinda lost interest,” Eddie says lightly. He manages to watch Steve take one painful step before he simply can’t do it anymore—stepping forward, he says, “Christ, Harrington, here.”
Steve jolts away from his hand. “Fuck off, I don’t need—”
“Well, fuck you too, then,” Eddie snaps. Something’s burning in his chest, a sudden and fierce hurt. “Jesus Christ. You know what I am isn’t fucking catching, right?”
He shocks himself by saying it.
In the silence that follows all he can think is that, for once, his dad was right: he never did learn how to shut his damn mouth.
Steve’s staring at him, pressing his back against the wall like it’s the one thing keeping him upright.
“That’s—that’s not why—” He breaks off, looks completely lost.
Somewhere within Eddie’s own mortification, he takes pity on him.
He sniffs, tries to act nonchalant. “Don’t hurt yourself, man.”
“No, I—I didn’t mean…” Steve sighs. “I’m sorry. That’s not—I just meant—” He pushes off from the wall again, wobbles until his hand finds purchase. “Just meant I can do it myself.”
Eddie feels his heart rate slow. He tilts his head. Re-examines Steve’s posture: the set to his jaw, the pained determination.
Years ago, Eddie broke his wrist at the fair, thanks to an awkward crash while on the bumper cars. It was the first summer that staying at Wayne’s had become a permanent thing, and Eddie had hidden his wrist beneath the folds of his too-large leather jacket, but Wayne met him off the ride and immediately noticed (“Chrissake, Ed. I’m not mad, kid. Just… lemme help you?”).
Eddie tried to stay silent as he got wrapped into a splint, because anything else felt like admitting to something.
Felt shameful.
“Yeah, you can,” Eddie says, shrugging. He pauses. Takes a chance. “Doesn’t mean you have to, though.”
He moves forward again—slower this time. Offers his hand.
Steve takes it.
“For the record,” he says, grunting as he shifts his weight, “I could’ve kept playing. Like, I’ve had worse.”
Yeah, Eddie thinks, you sure have.
Steve clearly hasn’t sensed that Eddie’s thoughts have gone to how messed up his face was last winter, because he keeps talking.
“Anyway. My own damn fault.” A rueful grin. “Didn’t plant my feet.”
“Don’t,” Eddie says. “You don’t have to… I saw. I saw Hargrove, man.”
Steve scoffs quietly. “Yeah, of course you did.”
“Shit, Harrington, way to make me sound like a stalker.”
“No, it’s just—” Steve shakes his head. “Just typical, that’s all. Remember when the fire alarm went off, last spring? You were the only one who noticed Debbie Lyons was missing.”
“Uh, so?”
Steve smiles. “So… you notice things.”
Eddie doesn’t know what to say.
But he gives it a try as they round another corner.
“What the fuck is Hargrove’s problem with you, dude?”
Steve chuckles wryly. “I’m really annoying.”
“Yeah, fair enough,” Eddie says, grinning when Steve manages to elbow him in the ribs. “But not, like, ‘intentionally injure’ levels of annoying. He threw the game, too.”
“Huh?”
Eddie fixes Steve with a pointed look. “Took out one of our best players.”
Steve rolls his eyes, but still looks undeniably pleased. “Shuddup.” He sobers in the space of taking another step and says, “With Hargrove, it’s… there’s bigger things than basketball, y’know?”
Eddie hears the just drop it underneath what’s spoken. He nods.
They’re almost at the nurse’s office when Steve sighs. “S’not exactly how I pictured it.”
“Hmm?”
“My last game.” Steve winces slightly as they inch closer to the door; Eddie tries to take more of his weight. “Had it in my head that I’d win, go out on a high.”
Eddie’s staring down the prospect of repeating senior year again—he knows all about having ideas in your head that don’t quite pan out.
“Life isn’t like a movie, Harrington,” he says.
It comes out perhaps more fond than he intended.
For some reason, Steve starts laughing like he’s heard something downright hilarious. “Yeah, gonna have to agree to disagree on that one, Munson.”
In the nurse’s office, they find out Steve’s probably got a bad sprain rather than a fracture (“See? I totally could’ve kept playing,” Steve insists), but that he should get it checked out at the hospital, just in case.
Ice pack in one hand, Steve makes a call on the office phone, with what sounds like a morbidly curious teen on the other end: “No, dude, there’s no blood—can you be normal for, like, two seconds and put your mom on? Thank you.”
As Steve hangs up, Eddie is very aware that the right time to leave was probably five minutes ago.
He stays put.
“This was supposed to be my last game, too,” he says.
“Was?”
Eddie clicks his tongue. “Well. S’not confirmed yet, haven’t had my last test results back. But uh, it’s kinda like the game.” He nods in the direction that they came, towards the basketball court. “I already know which way it’s gonna go.”
There’s no judgement in Steve’s eyes. “Sorry. Must’ve been boring to watch.”
Eddie smiles. “Nah, you’re good.”
He doesn’t say that, in his eyes, Steve’s single-handedly given the school almost all of its memorable basketball moments. That his secret favourite one isn’t even a Tigers victory: there was a game when Steve was poised to take the winning shot, and a kid from Connersville fainted.
In the few seconds of confusion, Steve could’ve still taken the shot. He could’ve won.
But as soon as he realised what was going on, he refused to.
To Eddie, that says more about him than any triumph ever could.
The phone rings again; the nurse is letting a Mrs Henderson in at the front of the school to pick up Steve.
“Guess that’s my cue,” Eddie says, because there’s only so many people allowed in the office at one time.
“See you, Munson. Um, thanks, by the way. Hope next year’s championship is, uh, better.”
There’s something in the way he says it, like even while still in the building, he’s drifting away, high school in his rear view mirror.
Oh, Eddie thinks wistfully, you’re already halfway outta here, aren’t you?
Goddamnit. I might actually miss you, Steve Harrington. You and your stupid hair.
“Hmm, can’t see myself going to watch next year.”
“Oh, yeah? How come?”
Eddie lingers in the doorway. Maybe it’s the fact that in a few weeks they’re never gonna see each other again. Maybe that helps him say it. Makes him a little braver.
He’s never learned to shut his damn mouth.
“My favourite player’s leaving,” he says.
And sure, he leaves barely a second later; he’s not that brave.
But he stays just long enough to catch Steve’s smile: startled, pleased, and perhaps just a little shy—like he’s made the winning shot after all.

prompt: "I wanted it to be you, I wanted it to be you so badly” from the writing challenge hosted by the amazing and lovely @moonlight-prose 💖
when a mysterious stranger wins your hand at the tournament, you can't help but wonder about his intentions
Tumblr media
With each step down the aisle, your legs threaten to give out.
A clicking of your teeth as you tremble, before you're gritting your jaw, biting your anxiety back. You have a reputation to uphold, even if you're only the daughter of a lord from a lesser house.
You're still a lady.
And this marriage would ensure a home for you. Protection. More than, if this man is what he says he is.
But a part of you desperately wishes that it was someone else at the end of the aisle.
You'd searched for a long time. For the glimpses that flash in your dreams at night. Knowing that he was out there - the one you had begun to think of as yours.
Your soulmate.
Never managing to meet the same eyes that reflect back at you in the darkness, just before you wake. Not once in the hundreds, thousands of people you’ve looked at, throughout your years.
And when none were found, you slowly gave up. Knowing the world was too large and you were too small, too poor, to seek them out.
Eventually agreeing to the match that your mother and father arranged.
If you could not have him, then you did not want anyone.
And now - the figure that waits for you stands tall.
Encased in gleaming armor, showing none of the nerves that wrack you. Making you wonder if you should have protested. Taken the path of the unwed, even if there was hardship in your future.
The stranger had won your favor, in the tournament. That is how the story will be told, passed on by your father.
Looking back, you remember very little from it. Knowing deep down that the winner would be the one to have your hand, whether you liked it or not. So much of it had turned to haze, as you had sat frozen there.
All but too nervous to watch, as weapons clashed, shields splintering.
Men you had known and grown up with falling beneath the sword of the mysterious man, clad in silver armor.
A Mandalorian, it was rumored.
Something from stories, you didn't know they still existed. An ancient clan of knights and warriors, honoring weapons and myths over sworn deities. Never revealing their faces to outsiders, and sometimes even to their own.
He had never killed any of them, and there was some comfort in that.
But that didn't mean he did not wound.
That he wasn't vicious, ferocious on the battlefield. Driven by an unseen force. Unrelenting, even when blood was drawn - splattering a bright crimson against his armor.
Showing just how he came to earn his station. The leader of his tribe, from the whispers you heard. Traveling far - slipping into the last few open brackets in the tournament, just as the first morning was starting.
Ripping through them all, in the days that followed.
You were given as the prize, in the end.
Even before the day ends, you would belong to him - ferried off to a new life tomorrow.
And this is what also slows your feet.
Wondering why such a man would come for you.
At the end of the aisle, you halt. The clergymany is speaking, but it's all white noise. Your own eyes wide and face solemn as you stare at your betrothed - your features reflected back at you in the tinted glass of his visor.
Acutely aware that you haven't seen his face. Not knowing what your husband was to look like.
Was he younger than you? Or older... older than your father?
Was his face kind, or was it as sharp as his movements? Was it all snarling teeth, beneath?
Were his eyes blue, or green, or just maybe... brown? Like his?
You don't know. You think not. Leaving you to wonder how you will bear it - to spend each day staring into their eyes while dreaming of anothers.
It's only when a voice raises that you're snapped from your thoughts. Realizing that the ceremony is waiting for you.
Managing, with a stammer, to repeat the words. To pledge yourself - your life and love - to this stranger.
The words repeated after, a low voice layering with metal. The shaking of your hands is still visible when they reach out to meet his, the tips of yours resting against wide, steady palms.
Covered in gloves but solid, like the rest of him.
Only the peek of tanned skin visible when he peels the glove from his hand. A small comfort coming in the warmth of his hand, as you slip the ring on his finger, settling it just above a scarred knuckle.
The careful brush of his fingers - a calming stroke against your skin, when he slips a matching one on yours.
Gentle, after everything.
Not him.
But perhaps, not a monster.
Tumblr media
The celebrations swirl past you. There's music you don't remember. A meal that sits heavy in your stomach, from the meager amounts you managed to swallow.
A smile plastered on - assuring your excitement to family and friends - all while you worry about the hours to come.
Will he be as gentle as he was during the ceremony?
Or will it be more like the battlefield?
These thoughts linger, as the hours pass. Until the sun dips below the horizon, until the stars blanket the sky.
And then, you're alone.
Waiting in the finest room prepared for him in the guest wing. The pretty, ivory gown stripped from you, replaced with something thin and fine and silver - hand-sewn and intended to please him.
Pacing, until you hear the heavy steps approaching - as he returns from a meeting with your father, your dowry and your life handed over.
Leaving you frozen in place, as the door opens. Where he lingers, filling the space.
A different man than before, you think.
There had not been a slope to his shoulders, the way he moves as if afraid to frighten you.
His voice is different too - soft now, coaxing.
"I wish our meeting had been under more pleasant circumstances." Your husband tells you, as the door slowly shuts behind him.
Trapping you, now. The iron latch heavy, as it locks into place.
"But I could not bear to stand by." He continues, that hard edge creeping into his voice again, "You must understand."
"I don't." You manage - your brow pinched, shifting the smallest step backwards as he moves forward.
He goes still, at your retreat.
"Do you not, ner kar’ta?" His head tilts, "Do you not know why I have come?"
The shake of your head is small. Not understanding the name he calls you, his intentions.
He hesitates then, for a second. Before his hands are reaching - grasping the edge of his helmet. Slipping it from his head, as his head dips.
His hair is dark, beneath. Messy and curling, greying at the temples, down to the scruff that lines his jaw beneath plush lips and the curve of his nose.
And his eyes. That pretty shade of brown, the dark fan of his eyelashes.
You know them. Though you've never seen them, yourself.
For a moment, you can't breathe. Frozen for an entirely new reason - starting back at the eyes that you've seen so often.
"It's you," You manage. The words are no more than a soft gasp.
He lets you touch him, then. Fingertips tracing his jaw, those eyes slipping shut when your fingers brush the nape of his neck. Somehow knowing how the curls would feel against your fingers, already knowing each detail of his face.
Hidden deep down, revealed bit by bit in your sleep.
Only now, do you see all of him.
And only now, do you lean in. Your head tipping towards him, just as his forehead presses against yours. And it's now that you understand the warmth of his touch - the way it seems to soak into your skin. A lost piece of you, now becoming complete.
You hadn’t been able to find him - so he had found you, instead.
Unable to help the smile, as the dark pit in your stomach blooms into spring.
I wanted it to be you, you think - as your heart finally starts to beat again. I wanted it to be you so badly.
There's a hitch in his breath, with your touch. Fingers that stretch out and then curl, until you're taking them yourself, slipping yours between them.
"Now do you know?" Your husband murmurs, in the voice that you know as well as his eyes.
And you do - the answer coming easily, as you nod, "Because you're mine."
"Yes," He smiles.
"Yours."

What about Hotch sneaking wife!reader and Jack into his hotel room during an away case and getting caught? He just wants to sleep by his love cause he can’t sleep without her since they got married 🥹
Aaron doesn't think much about forgoing an alarm when he falls asleep by your side. Their case is over, they've done all they need to, and they're just waiting on a delay at the airport that's preventing planes from taking off. There's no reason he needs to be out of bed early, and there's definitely no reason he needs to wake you and Jack up at an ungodly hour with an alarm. He's lucky enough to have gotten scheduled for a case alongside one of Jack's soccer tournaments, and for once in his life all of the pieces fall into place perfectly. He'd snuck you into his hotel room, he'd tucked Jack in on the couch, and he'd crawled right into your arms. He's going to take the opportunity given to him by the suddenly-gracious universe, bury his face in your shoulder, and sleep, no alarm necessary.
However, Aaron Hotchner should know by now, that the universe is never gracious. Not to him.
"Hotch?" JJ's voice is muffled by the door, incessant knocks beginning when there's no answer, "Hotch, the storm cleared, and planes are starting to take off again. We're schedule for an hour from now. Are you up?"
"Aaron," You hiss, suddenly filled with a panic you're not sure how to deal with, "Aaron, your- wake up!"
"Daddy?" Jack, evidently roused from the racket, rubs blearily at his left eye, "Daddy, is that Auntie JJ?"
"Is- Is that Jack? Hotch, open up." JJ tries the handle, but of course, it doesn't budge. Jack, ever the helper, takes his dad's groggy, half-awake silence and your own petrified one, as permission to help his aunt out, and almost trips on his blanket as he rushes for the door.
"Jack-" You whisper, trying to shout quietly. When he doesn't hear you, you try louder, even though it'll give you away, "Jack, no!"
"Auntie JJ!" Jack gushes, swinging the door wide open to greet her. The slim blonde is given a full, unobscured view of Aaron's bare chest pressed against your clothed one. He's awake, but barely so, and he's pushed himself off of where he'd been laying over your chest. But you're also trying to sit up, and it just pushes you together again.
JJ's eyes are wide and dancing with amusement, something you know she's going to channel directly into a gossip session with Penelope later. You suppose you understand, you'd want to share the juicy details too, but it's mortifying as she sees you now in bed with her boss.
"Well, good morning," She smirks, ruffling Jack's hair when he hugs her leg, "Uh, sir, I was just coming to let you know that we're scheduled for a flight soon, but if you're otherwise occupied, I can just tell the others you'll meet us back in Quantico?"
"Do not tell anyone anything." Aaron orders, apparently not needing much time in the morning to get his grumpiness going. He narrows his eyes at JJ, "What time do we leave?"
"10:30." None of his sternness can wipe the grin off of her face.
"We'll be gone by 10." You assure Aaron in a soft voice, too embarrassed to let JJ hear you speak.
"Perfect." She gushes, and you're even more mortified that she picked up on your soft murmurs anyways, "Well, sir, sounds like that's all set. But if you want, I can take Jack, and you two can have some alone time? I'm sure the team wouldn't mind, we can ask him all about-"
"No." Aaron snaps, but Jack's already latched onto her leg, sitting atop her foot, "Absolutely not. Jack, come back inside, please."
"Soccer." She clarifies with a knowing smirk, already backing away from the door with the little boy stuck to her, "We'll ask him all about soccer."
