Skincare plays very important role in maintaining a good skin. Ideally it is not possible to achieve pimple - free skin or scar free skin. There are situations where our body undergoes hormonal changes or maybe if we use a product that isn't suitable for our skin type, or cases where one over exfoliates the skin. These tricky situations can cause rashes, permanent scars, large pores and many such situations 🌿 . I have stopped doing things that aggravate my skin issues. SALICYLIC ACID FOR ACNE
One question that perplexes us is who should use AHAs and BHAs. There is a range of acids for skin care: salicylic acid, lactic acid, malic acid and many more. The question is, how do we choose among these?
For oily skin, it is usually suggested to implement BHA. Before delving further, what is a BHA, and how does it benefit the skin?
BHA stands for Beta Hydroxy Acid. It is an effective skincare acid and is generally used as an exfoliant. This chemical exfoliant helps remove dull skin by breaking the bond of the dead skin with the healthier skin that is present underneath. BHA helps the skin in several ways. It can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, firm the skin, and restore hydration.
One such popular BHA is salicylic acid. In fact, people refer to BHA as salicylic acid due to its high prominence.
Tumblr media
Salicylic Acid:
centuries back, salicylic acid was discovered from willow bark to treat specific skin issues. Later, the research found it helpful to exfoliate the stratum corneum(outer layer of the epidermis) and soften the skin. This ability of SA makes it a better peeling agent. Salicylic acid's comedolytic property, in specific, makes it an effective peeling agent for acne. Chemical peeling is a secure, efficient, and affordable procedure for treating various skin disorders and improving the appearance of the skin. Peeling is based on the concept of controlled chemical injury to the skin to stimulate rejuvenation, resulting in skin smoothening and betterment of skin surface texture. This injury does not mean any damage to the skin cells.
How does it work?
For people with oily skin, the skin cells that lie underneath the hair follicles of the skin replicate at a much faster rate. This replication leads to more cells that bind(corneocyte adhesion) together without gaps between them. Salicylic acid disperses the glue( lipophilic agent) that holds the cells in these pores(hair follicles) together. This causes the pores in the hair follicles to unclog, reducing the appearance of acne and blackheads. Moreover, salicylic is oil soluble and hence permeate deeper into oily skin. It has a unique structure that makes it a better soluble acid than the AHA.  Furthermore, by unsticking the cells from one another, dead skin cells can peel off rather than accumulate on the skin.
Benefits Of Salicylic Acid
Control Sebum Production
The major cause of acne is excessive oiliness caused by sebum overproduction. This is because excessive sebum production in your skin can cause pore-clogging and, as a result, aggravate acne.
Salicylic acid is said to minimise and control sebum production on the skin. Excess sebum production is caused by dehydrated and flaking skin to compensate for lack of hydration. This can happen when you use harsh face washes that take away all the oil and leave the skin extremely dry.https://www.youtube.com/embed/ir2F4l1kKRs
Exfoliant
Salicylic acid is a type of medication known as a keratolytic. Keratolytic medications soften the skin and help remove the dead skin cells on the surface. This skin layer detachment and removal serve as an excellent exfoliation session, resulting in unclogged pores and the revelation of bright, glowy, radiant skin. Salicylic acid is also lipophilic, which means it works great by penetrating clogged pores and oily skin.
Removes white and blackheads
Salicylic acid is best suited to treating blackheads and whiteheads among all types of acne. Whiteheads and blackheads develop when hair follicles get clogged with dirt, particles, oil, and dead skin cells.
When the whitehead opens up and is exposed to air, it darkens in colour, transforming the whitehead into a blackhead. As mentioned earlier, salicylic acid dissolves the keratin that binds the cells and hair follicles and will no longer result in blackheads.
Overuse of salicylic acid, like any other exfoliant, can cause increased drying, particularly on sensitive skin. It should be gradually incorporated into your skincare routine, just like any other acid to ensure that your skin does not react negatively. It has Low pH, so it is not available in concentrations greater than 2%. This is because it might irritate if used in more concentrations. Adding 2 drops of BHA Exfoliating Serum to your routine moisturiser helps regulate oil production and reduces acne.
Furthermore,  more importantly, you should be aware that applying large amounts of salicylic acid to large areas of your body can result in salicylate poisoning. Hence, it is better to use under doctor's advice.

Handling body acne shouldn’t be difficult anymore! Just spray it!
Tumblr media
Handling body acne shouldn’t be difficult anymore!Just spray it!Our salicylic acid 2% body acne mist helps unclog pores and helps clears acne on body. It’s light weight, non sticky, soothing and hydrating. Using SA mist on the face is not recommended. Please note KP is different from body acne. KP is a dry skin condition. Lactic acid is hydrating and exfoliating. While body acne has clogged pore and bacterial infection inside it. Salicylic acid is anti bacterial and exfoliating and also unclog from inside, hence more helpful for acne

ANTI-AGEING DIET: BEST ANTI-AGEING FOODS TO INCLUDE IN YOUR DIET
Tumblr media
Who wants to slow down the process of ageing? Of course, everyone wants to. No one likes the ageing process. Many celebrities and stars do cosmetic surgery just for the sake of looking younger and having healthy skin. But it's too expensive, so not everyone can afford it. Taking external care of our body or skin is not enough, rather it requires care from within. As whatever we take from inside of the body reflects externally. Hence, we must have to follow the great or ideal skincare routine along with the anti-ageing diet. It's just because of a diet that contains Omega 3 fatty acids, Collagen, which repairs the dead cells and helps delay the process of ageing.
Numerous factors influence our skin. Better intake gives us flawless skin, so it's better to have a great skincare routine. But it's not possible to focus and proceed with every step in the skincare routine, so a nutritional diet will be a bonus point to anti-ageing.  Here are some factors which enhance the texture and help to slow down the process of ageing. Let's see them one by one.
Best Anti-ageing Foods To Include In Your Diet
Collagen -
Collagen is an essential protein that our skin craves for nourishment. Most occurrences of collagen are in ligaments, bones, skin, muscles, tendons, etc, but with increasing age, it starts degrading, so eventually, our skin needs additional collagen intake. Foods like chicken, shellfish, egg white, citrus foods (foods which contain vitamin C), berries, tropical fruits, garlic, leafy veggies, beans, cashew nuts, tomatoes, bell peppers, etc. have an adequate amount of collagen. Consuming these kinds of foods helps in stimulating collagen production.
Green Tea -
Green tea is considered the best-suited ingredient for the skin. It is made from Camellia sinensis leaves. It contains polyphenols and some types of catechins that avoid premature ageing. It also cures acne and inflammation and even moisturises the skin, making the skin look younger and flawless. Green tea possesses the vital nutrients needed for the skin, like Vitamin B2 and Vitamin E, and also antioxidants that protect our skin from damage and ageing.
Adding green tea to an everyday routine helps with skin texture and provides deep nourishment. One of the most important benefits of green tea is that it improves digestion by purifying the blood, which shows on the skin.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids -
Our skin naturally produces oil, or sebum, and Omega 3 fatty acids regulate sebum production. Omega 3 fatty acids provide the required hydration to the skin, reduce skin damage and slow down the ageing process too. It is best suited for dry skin, which is found in fish and other seafood ( like salmon, tuna, soya bean oil, plant oil, flaxseeds ) that helps in radiating the skin through suitable oil production.
It also possesses some acids like ALA, EPA, and DHA, and amongst these acids, some of the acids our body can't produce are ALA acids. ALA is splendid in seafood and some flax seeds. Intake of this seafood helps in the production of oils in the skin naturally, giving a fairer and richer complexion to the skin.
Although the above mentioned are just some of the food factors to include in your diet, they help in nourishing the skin and slowing down the process of ageing.
Apart from this, there are many more factors that lead to ageing, such as lack of quality sleep, lack of a balanced diet, insufficient intake of water, lack of exercise, and irregular intake of food.
