Hello! Thank you for this blog, it really helps me navigate in anything bsd related. I'm still kinda new to this fandom.... I've read the manga up to chapter 40 (as of writing this ask) and finished 2 seasons of the anime. I'd like to ask in what order should i consume bsd content? Should i read first the 1st light novel? Please care to give me an order of those stuff because I'm so confused but I'm trying ︶︿︶ i love bsd so far and I've shed tears for idk how many times. Ahhh thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this ask! I love knowing that I’ve helped out someone in this fandom! It’s why I run this blog! Welcome to the fandom! I hope you have lots of fun~
Thanks to BSD-Bibliophile who helped me find a bunch of these links. If you want to check out the original authors’ writing (which the characters of BSD are based on), light novel, manga, or any other related information, make sure to check out their account and their list of links (https://bsd-bibliophile.tumblr.com/links)
~Timeline in Chronological Order~
[NOVEL] Origin of the Detective Agency: Untold Story
[10 years prior to the main timeline]
This tells the story of how the Armed Detective Agency was founded! Ce-la translated this! You can find it here! You can purchase it here and here!
[NOVEL/ANIME] Dazai, Chūya, Fifteen Years Old
[7 years prior to the main timeline]
This was adapted into the first three episodes of season three of the anime. However, many people weren’t pleased with the results of the adaptation (due to time crunches and changes in the source material). If you’d like to read it, Lea provided a good summary along with excerpts! It offers more insights into the characters and their motives. You can find that here! You can also read the translation here (it is only missing the epilogue).
[NOVEL/ANIME] Osamu Dazai and the Dark Era
[4 years prior to the main timeline]
This was adapted into the first three episodes of season two of the anime. This happens to be one of my favourite arcs. You can find the official novel for purchase here and here.
[NOVEL/ANIME? Kinda] Osamu Dazai’s Entrance Exam
[2 years prior to the main timeline]
This was adapted into episodes 6 and 7 of the anime, and while it might not go along with the particular timeline, it’s still an adaptation! You can find the information about the novel from this ask I answered quite a while ago here! Check the link at the bottom of that ask.You can purchase it officially here.
[MANGA/ANIME] Season One, Season Two, Dead Apple Movie, Season Three…
That’s how we got here! In terms of manga to anime… well, I keep hearing that there are massive differences between the anime and manga, and believe me, there are as far as I can see, but I also haven’t read all of the manga. I watched the anime for the first two seasons then picked up the manga. I can say that:
Season Three ends on chapter 53 so pick up on chapter 54
Season Two ends on chapter 37 so pick up on chapter 38
Hopefully, that helps make the manga/anime transition.
DEAD APPLE is an anime original movie that has a prologue taking place 6 years prior, but the majority of the movie takes place within the current timeline. Most would consider this a side-story and a cash grab, but it was still a good cash grab. I even got to see this one in theaters.

Who are your top 10 female villains? And your top ten male villains? Thank you!
Oooooh. Well, in this list I am including antagonists (people I see as conflicted/not committed to like, the bad side, if there even is a bad side, but basically oppose the protagonist at some point). Also, they are in no particular order:
Female Villains:
Tumblr media
Cersei Lannister (A Song of Ice and Fire)
She's sympathetic enough so that we understand how she came to be the way she is, yet terrifying and depraved enough that we fear for the characters around her. I don't think that's an easy balance to strike for a character: if you make them likable it's hard to keep audiences from rooting for them, but the balance is struck perfectly with Cersei.
Tumblr media
Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
As @aspoonofsugar wrote recently on Azula, I think she is a fantastic female villain. I think she is sympathetic despite her actions, and I wish the story had explored her redemption, which was clearly hinted.
Tumblr media
Claudia (The Dragon Prince)
The first three seasons have kind of been Claudia's fall. While as a whole I don't think TDP is very well-written, I do think that Claudia, Viren, and Soren's family dynamic is a polished gem of writing that literally carries the story. I fully expect to see redemption for Claudia down the line, but not until she spirals further and further. At the end of season 3, Claudia resorts to killing someone to save her father's life when she has nothing and no one else left, and she makes this choice after her brother Soren (now redeemed himself) chooses to kill their father in front of Claudia, devastating her. Their choices are clear parallels and both are somewhat negative, somewhat sympathetic. Soren can't kill his past: he has to live with it, and Claudia can't cling to the past: she has to let it go.
Tumblr media
Delores Umbridge (Harry Potter)
She is awful and I hate her, but you're also supposed to hate her. Her comeuppance is hilarious ad perfect, and just--I think she's a fantastic villain because she reminds every single one of us of an albeit exaggerated version of a teacher we all know.
Tumblr media
Karren von Rosewald (Tokyo Ghoul:re)
Karren is TG:re's best written character in my opinion. Her tragic arc takes place throughout the first three arcs, which imo is also the highest point in the series. Karren just wanted to be loved, and if she had to die, at least she got to die as herself.
Tumblr media
Nora (Noragami)
Nora! The reason I read Noragami is pretty much for Nora and her redemption arc. The fandom hates her for... reasons, but she's always been primed for redemption. Her name is in the title (which yes also refers to Yato, etc.) She's important. I wrote a few metas on Nora, notably here.
Tumblr media
Enoshima Junko (Danganronpa)
Despair. It's fun to find a character who is, well, just plain fun, but who is also bored, despairing, cruel, and terrifying. She's unique and a brillaint character.
Tumblr media
Toga Himiko (Boku no Hero Academia)
I'm not the first one to say that Toga is BNHA's best written female character, but I do agree that she is. She, like Junko, is fun and interesting, and she has an arc that is compelling. Her actions directly move the plot; she’s bloodthirsty and yet uniquely empathetic and compassionate.
Tumblr media
Yoshimura Eto (Tokyo Ghoul)
Eto's backstory and her motivations were fascinating. She was one of the most complex characters in the entire story, and despite the fact that you understood why her father gave her up, you also understood her pain and justified anger at his doing so. She perfectly illustrated the divide between human and ghoul.
Male Villains:
Tumblr media
Shigaraki Tomura (Boku no Hero Academia)
BNHA's best-written male character, imo. His backstory and the current chapters that focus on him are extremely well-done, thematic and full of character development, and detailed artistically. He gets so much focus that I can tell he's important to Horikoshi, and I'm excited to see where he goes.
Tumblr media
Dabi (Boku no Hero Academia)
I'll admit there's a lot missing here. Namely, we don't know his identity for certain, but it seems basically certain that he's Todoroki Touya; however, we still don't have his backstory. Still, his fury at the presumed father who destroyed his family and yet has the audacity to be a "symbol of hope" is fascinating to me, and I'm excited to see how he develops as well. (Both Shigaraki and Dabi seem primed for some kind of redemption).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Adult Trio: Illumi Zoldyck, Hisoka Morow, Chrollo Lucilfer (Hunter x Hunter)
Am I counting these three as one so that I can get extra characters? Of course I am. In all honesty I really think all three of these antagonists are really well done, sympathetic and/or likable. They're the shadows of the three MCs they foil: for Illumi, Killua, for Hisoka, Gon, and for Chrollo, Kurapika. They represent the traits the three protagonists (sorry Leorio) don't want to acknowledge in themselves, and therefore their encounters with their shadows are particularly thematic and powerful. Also, one doesn't usually kill their shadow, but instead integrates with it, so I highly doubt the three of them will be killed by their respective protagonist.
Tumblr media
Meruem (Hunter x Hunter)
Yes, again, HxH. It has great antagonists. But Meruem's development is literally one of the most powerful I've ever read about. I don't know anyone who starts his story not loathing him, hoping he dies, and then by the end of it, ebfore you've even realized it's happening, you're crying for him and Komugi. His arc explores human nature at its finest, most horrific, and ultimately most beautiful.
Tumblr media
Furuta Nimura (Tokyo Ghoul:re)
Furuta's a fantastic villain whom I wish got a better ending (not even redeemed really, but just... something more). He was so damaged by the system of an unfair world that he made it his life goal to become the villain and burn the system down, destroy it no matter what it took--and also hoped to destroy himself in the process, as he was born knowing he would die young and longed for it. I wish he had been forced to live.
Tumblr media
Mori Ougai (Bungo Stray Dogs)
Mori's utilitarianism is chilling. He's not exactly unlikable, despite being absolutely morally repugnant, and the Beast AU from Asagiri himself shows us that Mori is certainly capable of a positive life and positive change; however, within the canonical story, I don't see that for him. He's been set up IMO as the final boss of the series, and his habit of targeting the most vulnerable (especially children) to control people is almost certainly going to bite Dazai in the ass eventually.
Tumblr media
Eren Jaeger (Shingeki no Kyojin)
I can't believe I'm writing this. I don't know what to call Eren: he's the protagonist, and he's sunk to becoming the final boss. While it's possible he, like Furuta and like Lelouch of Code Geass, is playing the villain, I really hope not, as I think the themes are much more powerful if Eren sincerely believes what he proclaims to believe. He's a kid who has always wanted to fight for freedom and for the people around him, and now we're seeing the dark side of those traits, wherein he's destroying the world via genocide to save the people close to him. He's driven by fear and by anger at the cruelty and unfairness of the world, and he's forgotten the beauty of it. I hope Mikasa can  remind him before the end.
Tumblr media
Fyodor Dostoyevsky (Bungo Stray Dogs)
MY BOY. Look if a character is named after my very favorite real-life author, I must stan. But actually I do think Fyodor is well written and a master manipulator. He's modeled after my favorite character in all of fiction, Dostoyesvky's Demons' Alexei Kirillov. He really seems to want human connection, to live, and has forgotten that empathy is an important and necessary part of both of those. I hope--and think it is likely given BSD's prolific redemption arcs--that he will remember eventually.
Tumblr media
Lee Yut-Lung (Banana Fish)
Again,, he's less a villain than an antagonist. Like Ash, the main character, he is a teenage boy betrayed by the people who were supposed to protect him and abused his whole entire life. He's driven by a desperate need to be loved and jealousy that Ash is loved while he is not. His ending, when Sing finally tells him he will in fact be staying by Yut-Lung's side and will help Yut-Lung redeem himself, "because you're in pain... your soul's bleeding, even now" is literally the perfect ending for him.
Tumblr media
Jin Guangyao (Mo Dao Zu Shi)
I've written a lot on Jin Guangyao, but he's a walking tragedy. He ties with Wei Wuxian, the protagonist, as my favorite, and the reason is because they are two sides of the same coin--in fact, they're the same side of the same coin. They're not very different, and the fact that he finally at least got empathy in the end and was able to push the person he loved most to safety because of that--well. Brb time to cry.

Uhhh yknow what else 🔥 + the Beast AU go go go
Ahhhh Beast…. I wish I could read Japanese to understand Asagiri-sensei’s original thoughts and intentions. What can I say except… it is an extremely painful and extremely beautiful story to read. Firstly because of the cruelty that the children were exposed to, and secondly because of Dazai’s character, which was explored to such extremes that it pushed the boundaries of his relationships with other characters, most notably Odasaku.
The most memorable part of this AU for me is Dazai and Odasaku’s interactions. Dazai knew Odasaku in another life, but sadly he did not carry the same wish as Odasaku in the current universe of Beast. Whereas in the canon universe, Dazai could understand Odasaku’s wish to save people, and carried that wish with him, in Beast he could understand none of that, and yet was burdened by his own one-sided feelings of friendship. One of the biggest questions I have about this AU is how a child like Dazai, who was so desolated, could become so consumed by an overwhelming affection(?) towards another person. Could it be that thanks to The Book, he saw the visions of his life one after another and was compelled to save the one person he failed again and again to save? Or his heart had become so empty and heavy by that point that he decided to dedicate his all to the person who was always the first to save him? Whatever the path that took him there, it must have been a dreadful journey, and at the end of it, Dazai was greeted by the reality that the one person he wanted to save did not even know him. I must say that was quite the fitting ending for a paradoxical being like Dazai.
For me, this AU was Asagiri-sensei’s worst-case scenario. It basically tells us what would happen if Dazai’s empty heart was left to die alone. This is what happened if someone as dangerous and lonely as Dazai was given the means to destroy the world. On the other hand, the canon universe is the best case scenario. Here, Dazai is given a place to belong, and people who genuinely care about him whether he decides to trust them or not. The other purpose of this AU, I think, is to really let the readers explore the extremities of the BSD characters, especially Dazai. I have never seen a series which has managed to explore this many dimensions to its characters so far, and I have nothing but mad respect for Asagiri-sensei for it.

I'd love to see this one! “This is without a doubt the stupidest plan you’ve ever had. Of course I’m in.”
(Welcome to part 4 (and final for a while at least) of the Sundog AU! I’m really proud of this one, so I hope you like it too. Thank you for putting up with me shoving this AU into nearly every ask I’ve gotten for the past week.
Hey, it’s also the 1st day of SSKK week as well, so this also fits that prompt: Eye of the tiger. Vaguely. I did my best.)
18. “This is without a doubt the stupidest plan you’ve ever had. Of course I’m in.”
209/365: Justice
Alarms sound from every single one of the Sundog’s corridors.
“We’re taking fire!” Higuchi yells, darting past Ryuu, yelling into her com link. “All gunners to the port side!”
Ryuu pants, coughing into his hand occasionally. He races down to the main engine room, hoping Chuuya’s already there, assessing damage.
“Ryuu!”
Ryuu stops suddenly, whipping his head to his side. Atsushi beckons him with one hand, a finger held to his lips with the other hand, hiding around a corner. Ryuu rolls his eyes as he slides next to him.
“What?” He almost hisses. Atsushi’s eyes are alight with excitement, and he nearly seems to jitter as he speaks.
“That fighter you’ve been working on,” he says quickly, “the one with the cloaking. Have you finished it?”
Ryuu’s eyes narrow. “Don’t you dare,” he snaps, but Atsushi keeps talking.
“Because, if you’ve finished it, we can slip between the phaser fire and onto the Krysa,” Atsushi beams as if he’s just discovered an infinite pool of wealth.
Ryuu frowns. “You think I haven’t thought of that?” he mutters. “If it was ready, someone would be flying it out there by now.”
Smiling coyly, Atsushi tilts his head. “Didn’t you say that all you needed was a jewel board?”
Ryuu raises an eyebrow. “Yes…?”
Atsushi beams again as he reaches into his pocket. When he pulls his glove back out, he holds a small wrapped package in his hands.
“Kyouka found it on Asagiri,” he says. Ryuu’s eyes widen, and he quickly grabs up the package. Nevermind that Kyouka likely stole it - none of them would be able to afford a jewel board unless they didn’t want to eat for a month - it’s his now.
Atsushi must notice the fascination in Ryuu’s eyes, for he grins as he pulls his large blaster off of his back. “So are you in?”
Delicately, Ryuu unties the small ribbon that Atsushi’s wrapped around the package, leaving the jewel board’s circuits to glitter in the ship’s flashing emergency lights. He sighs, folding his hands around it.
“This is without a doubt the stupidest plan you’ve ever had,” he says, then looks Atsushi straight in the eye. “Of course i’m in.”
x
They should’ve told someone else. They shouldn’t have gone alone.
They shouldn’t have gone at all.
“ATSUSHI!” Ryuu screams, doing his best with his small phaser as Atsushi fires his larger gun. Crawling along every wall, floor, and ceiling, hissing, furless, rodent-like creatures the size of children swipe and bite at them. Whenever they shoot one down, four more seem to take its place.
“I know!” Atsushi snaps back, covering them as they scramble back to the pod. Over the ship’s intercom, a harsh voice laughs.
“Run, little dogs,” the Krysa’s captain taunts. Ryuu snarls and shoots the nearest surveillance camera.
“This is the stupidest plan you’ve ever had!” Shouts Ryuu, running as fast as he can without falling over deformed monsters. Despite not having eyes, each of them faces the two, screeching with noise that nearly drowns out anything Ryuu or Atsushi could say.
“You don’t say!” Atsushi shoots back. His more powerful, but slower blaster can take out more than three of the monsters at a time, but even that doesn’t seem to be putting a dent in them. Ryuu turns quick enough to shoot at a monster that approached Atsushi from behind. He shouts, “Kunikida’s going to have our-!”
He’s cut off by a harsh sound. It’s a dry, strangled noise, louder than the monsters, and after an agonizing moment, Ryuu realizes it’s coming from his own lips.
He looks down, sees the monster on his arm, blood covering its fangs, and he makes that sound again. That’s his blood. That’s his arm, no longer attached to him, being swallowed down the beast’s throat.
“RYUU!” Atsushi yells, and the monster falls dead, a phaser blast through its misshapen skull.
Ryuu doesn’t move. He doesn’t move until Atsushi grabs his other shoulder, pulling him along the corridor. Unbearable pain flares up from where his arm used to be just milliseconds ago.
“You’ll be okay,” Atsushi says, over and over, shooting at the monsters that still follow them. “You’ll be okay.”
Spots dance across Ryuu’s vision. He grimaces, doing his best to run alongside Atsushi.
“Atsushi,” he says, teeth gritted together. “You’ll have to fly us back.”
Atsushi stumbles. “N-no, you can do it still,” he insists while they turn a corner. Ryuu glares at him.
“We both know… You need,” he gasps, holding close what remains of his arm, “… Two hands.”
Atsushi gulps. For a second, he squeezes his eyes shut.
“I-I know you can do it, somehow,” he stammers. Ryuu growls.
“Atsushi!” He shouts, causing him to turn to him with wide eyes. They pant as they run, and the rages fades from Ryuu’s face as he looks into Atsushi’s eyes, filled with fear. “I need you to fly us home,” he murmurs, barely able to be heard over the monsters.
Atsushi stares at him a second longer, mouth open, but a charging monster screeches as it jumps towards them, and Atsushi turns to shoot it. He says nothing else, but his entire body shakes as he helps Ryuu back to the fighter.
They make it in by the skin of their teeth. The monsters snarl, and one of their hands gets severed in the fighter’s closing doors. Ryuu spits on it.
“Payback,” he mutters.
Though he manages to make it to the cockpit, Atsushi freezes the second he sits in the pilot’s seat.
“I…” he stutters, eyes darting over the controls. “I… I can’t do this.”
Ryuu pants. He can feel consciousness leaving his body, and the pool of blood at his feet only grows as his arm continues to bleed. “Doesn’t matter if you can,” he hisses through the pain. “You have to.”
The monsters pound on the door, and the fighter lurches forward under their might. Atsushi gasps, hands instinctively flying to the controls before he suddenly pulls them back, chest heaving.
Ryuu slides down to the floor, breathing shallow. “See?” he says. “You’re… A pilot, Atsushi.”
Atsushi’s lips form a thin line. He looks from his hands to the controls, then back to Ryuu, causing him to gasp.
“Ryuu, you’re-!”
“I can see a doctor… When we get home,” he says. With his remaining hand, he grasps the bleeding stump of his other arm. He locks eyes with Atsushi and nods. “Your job… Is getting us there.”
The ship lurches again, and once again, Atsushi’s hands fly to the controls. Except this time, he doesn’t take them off.
“You can do this,” whispers Ryuu, his voice failing him. The fighter hums to life as Ryuu lets his heavy eyelids begin to close. “… I love you.”
The fighter jettisons out of the Krysa, and Ryuu hears Atsushi shout his name before every light goes out.
x
“… How does it feel?”
Ryuu flexes his arm again. Mori had it fitted with the absolute best; the materials are first-rate, and it moves as smoothly as his original one. Still, he sighs.
“It doesn’t feel like mine yet,” he mutters, lowering the robotic arm to his side. Atsushi sighs and nods.
“I wonder if it ever will,” he says, gazing out the window. Ryuu follows his line of sight. They’ve stopped for a supply run, and the planet’s two suns light up the sky outside.
“I’m sorry,” Atsushi murmurs, slumping over in the chair beside Ryuu’s hospital bed. Ryuu turns to look at him as he continues, “if I hadn’t had that stupid plan-”
“Don’t blame yourself,” Ryuu interjects. He closes his eyes, breathing slowly. “I’m sorry I pressured you into flying.”
He feels a hand push some of his bangs out of his face, and he looks up to see Atsushi smiling gently at him.
“It’s okay,” he murmurs. “I… Think I needed that,” he admits, his smile turning sheepish.
Ryuu huffs a bit, closing his eyes again. He nearly jolts up in bed when he feels something warm and soft touch his lips.
He stares at Atsushi, eyes wide, as the other man pulls away, eyelids fluttering.
“I think you needed that,” he whispers, grinning, and Ryuu can only nod. At his stunned reaction, Atsushi bursts into laughter.
His laugh glitters like stardust, echoing through the otherwise empty sick bay like wind chimes.
“I love you too, you know,” he finally manages to say as his laughter dies down, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear.
Ryuu’s face flushes, and either Atsushi doesn’t notice or doesn’t care, because he goes on to talk about his upcoming pilot lesson with Dazai.

ship list reveal?
a little foreword on the nature of all the canonical romantic relationships asagiri has written. they all have one thing in common. tragedy. or, if the character is shown mercy, unrequitedness. ranpo’s parents, kouyou’s deceased lover, naboku sasaki and the azure messenger, katai and gin, kyouka’s mother and father, officer sugimoto and yamagiwa, mitchell and hawthorne are just a few cases exemplifying this commonality. that being said, asagiri’s pattern is continued in my interpretation of these relationships so do keep that in mind! otherwise, list’s under the cut.
fyogol: great timing. if this ask was sent before i read the beast au the only reply here would be fyogol rights! and a heavily pixelated gogol edit. i got emotionally invested into them by accident lma0.
ranpoe: because poe is very transparent. excellent friendship too.
odazai: specifically following the beast au. if tragedy is common to all of the bsd romances than surely the same must apply to the ultimate doomed pair. beast showed us that their fates were not only completely dependent on each others but also that their suffering was embedded into the very fabric of the bsd canon. also, if you’d allow me to project onto dazai…i didn’t realize i was in love with my best friend until after they were gone and i feel like the same could be said for him. it’s a shame he won’t get a happy reunion. i should add the fact that they both got to share what is, in my opinion, the most poetic line in the entire series: “your mind dances.” any interpretation of odazai including a platonic one is great in my eyes too. i usually default to the platonic.
kousano: i know these two haven’t even met in canon but…their matching necklaces in mayoi…
akuatsu: from beast! this is more a testament to asagiri’s writing than anything else because their chemistry during their sugar conversation was formidable. their hatred in beast was entirely partisan and dazai removed that barrier for them at the end so the potential is definitely present. i also saw that as dazai’s twisted repayment for messing with aku in the original timeline and atsu in the beast one. the two of them also have to guard the secret of the book together for the rest of their lives and they compliment each other in every possible way. can you imagine them raising orphans with guidance from oda so no child should go through what they both did? because i sure can. beast akuatsu, best akuatsu. this is my comparatively wholesome ship in rebellion to asagiri’s track record.
that’s about it for now. thanks for reading and i’ll see you soon.

Soukoku Multi-Chp WIP #1
Sneak Peak of...
FOUR SEASONS WITH YOU:
Dazai: Odasaku, if you got hold of the Book, what would you write?
Odasaku: That’s a bit difficult to answer when knowing that’s dangerous but... I wanted to let the people enjoy their life a little bit better but Dazai you’re situation is different from what you’re asking me. What you’re up against is not time... it’s Chuuya-san right?
Dazai: All I ever wanted is to make it up to him after every horrible things I did... I wanted to finally give him happiness but why is he not letting me?
P.S. the fic is not a chat-like lol. I couldn’t find the time to make it detailed scenes due to our midterms week and I’m currently multi-tasking reviewing and doin projects *le cries*
A little bit of what happens in the story~
Four Seasons With You: this reincarnation and high school au combined (they will enter college at middle of the story) the main chara is Dazai and the story goes on with his happy life as a normal honor 3rd year student. Chuuya is the only person Dazai didnt meet yet and he missed his little hatrack despite their departure in their past life so he wanted to make it up to him. Mori, Kouyou, Fyodor, Shibusawa and Rimbaud will be making their appearance in later chapters but mostly Fyodor. I will be adding a dystopian here but I promise it wont be too confusing.
Expect this will be similar to the beast au but a little bit different. Angst. More angst. Light fluff. Explicit (beginner writing smut*help me XD*), and i hope it would still be okay to share this fic because i have my own doubts on this because it might wont be much exciting.
@daughterofsinsloth Thank you so much for encouraging me to continue this ❤️✨ even though I have 99% doubt on it but you still did and your advices are ❤️❤️❤️ tbh this should had been released a few weeks ago but was halted due to school works and despite sharing very much similarity to the BEAST au and same goes for my other multi-chap fic after this one. Asagiri-sensei did you read my mind or something xD)
Regardless, I will still continue it even if it won’t excite much of the readers

Hello! Thank you for the BSD translations ^^ I've only read the manga, so my knowledge is limited. But I have a headcanon where Dazai knew Chuuya way before their mafia days. Is it possible that Dazai is an experiment subject along with Chuuya? And his ability was specifically made as a stabiliser to unstable abilities (such as corruption)? Other than having been partners, they were also 'inseparable' in that way? Ah.. Can't wait for their official back stories to be revealed *_*
Hi! You’re most welcome ^^
I’m not sure how much I can talk and reveal to you, but their backstories have actually been written by Asagiri in the latest Soukoku novel! If you don’t mind spoilers, the angel @looking-for-stray-dogs has made a summary here.
You have an interesting headcanon there because No Longer Human is indeed a very powerful ability, and in the BEAST light novel (an AU written by Asagiri), we can also see how godlike Dazai’s ability can become.
OMG when has Double Black become this invincible

Hello! Hope you're doing well (if not I hope things get better)! How about 1, 12, 15, 17 and 38 for the fanfic asks? Have a good day/night :)
Hi Val. Thanks I hope you’re doing well too, not so sure about me though. Thank you for sending an ask. I hope you have a wonderful day/night too
Fanfic writer asks
1. What’s your favorite character(s) to write for?
Dazai Osamu (Bungo Stray Dogs)
Chuya Nakahara (Bungo Stray Dogs) mostly for x readers
Kunikida Doppo (Bungo Stray Dogs) ?
Ranpo Edogawa (Bungo Stray Dogs) only because it’s easy to write for him
12. Who is your favorite author?
Most definitely Dazai Osamu. Then there’s Kafka Asagiri who is the creator of Bungo Stray Dogs. After reading the light novels I absolutely love his style of writing. There’s these words of his that really inspired me to become a writer, it was at the end of the Beast AU light novel in the afterword, it was those words that actually sparked my love for writing.
“Imagination is infinite. And all possibilities have equal weight. If you think so, that world is there. After that, move with your mind and the time of the world progresses. After that time you are the person on “this side”. That is it, it is great fun to change a condition and watch how history moves with it. There is a world full of charm that is both fun and painful. Welcome to our world.”
15. What is the fanfic you’ve written that you’re most proud of?
Hmm, I’m not really the kind of person who is proud of anything they do. But for the sake of the question... “Lone Poet” and for a x reader...I can’t choose between “Why do you even care about whether or not I jump?” or the songfic for Dazai which was “Love Someone”. It’s more of a like for what i’ve written rather than being proud of them
17. What fanfic tropes do you gravitate to writing for?
I’m not really knowledgeable about all the different fanfic tropes but I do like the “friendship to romance” one and “enemies to friends” I guess. Perhaps platonic stuff as well. Tbh I’m not one for romance but what I write contradicts that... If I don’t have any requests I tend to write more “general” fics than ‘x readers”
38. What story of yours are you surprised that people liked as much as they did?
Let’s see...my very first x reader, which was from the psychical affection prompts. The one about Chuya wiping away his s/o’s tears after a nightmare. I’ll leave the link here. Also another one is the general oneshot I wrote for Dazai, my very first general oneshot I ever wrote for him. “There’s more than what meets the eye” There’s 96 hits and 8 kudos on it on AO3. And here I’m not sure but it was definitely more than I expected
