(SPOILERS obviously):

An obvious one, but a classic, the "up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!" line reference. This one never gets old.

Jimmy next name drops Flamebird. in the comics Nightwing and Flamebird were Kryptonian superheroes adopting their names from a species of Kryptonian birds. This is where Dick Grayson gets his Nightwing identity from. The page here is from Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe #17 (1986) drawn by Curt Swan and Karl Kesel.

At the climatic battle of part 2 of Adventures of a Normal Man, we see Leslie Willis become blue and look more like her traditional Livewire look. Her first appearance was in Superman the Animated Series, season 2 episode 5 "Livewire" where she was voiced by Lori Petty, a.k.a. Tank Girl. In the show Leslie was a shock jock radio DJ slinging hot takes live on air knocking down Superman a peg or two

Obviously MAwS took Leslie in a whole different direction, design choice, and occupation change, but I am excited to see what happens next for her.

Before we see Clark battle Leslie we see this guy. White hair, wears orange and black, its Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. This fool here in like 20 to 25 years will have his life spiral out of control and get his ass kicked by a bunch of colorfully dressed teenagers.

Deathstroke makes his first appearance in New Teen Titans #2 (1980) (W: Marv Wolfman and George Perez, P: George Perez, I: Romeo Tanghal, C: Adrienne Roy, L: Ben Oda) where he is hired by H.I.V.E. to kill the Teen Titans. In the comics he's a major piece of shit, but a damn good assassin.

After the fight we see Supes clean up and he picks up a billboard that reads Amazotech.

This is a good reference to Professor Anthony Ivo, a mad scientist of the DC Universe who built the Amazo robot who could adapt and replicate any power that the Justice League has and weaknesses. Both Ivo and the Amazo robot make their first appearances here in Brave and the Bold #30 (1960) with the cover art done by Mike Sekowsky and Murphy Anderson.

At the end of the episode Slade name drops Task Force X better known as the Suicide Squad. The name "Suicide Squad" is from the Brave and the Bold #25 where it was the name of Rick Flag's unit in the military. The Suicide Squad pop culture knows first debuted in Legends #3 (1987) as seen below (W: John Ostrander and Len Wein, P: John Byrne, I: Karl Kesel, C: Tom Ziuko, L: Steve Haynie).

The team at this time was composed of Rick Flag, Bronze Tiger, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Enchantress, and Blockbuster. The team members have changed out with each new Task Force X/Suicide Squad iteration.

Behind Slade, here is Amanda Waller, the most fearsome woman in the DC universe. She's ruthless, politically powerful, and will not hesitate to blow up anyone in the Suicide Squad if they screw up. She makes her first appearance in Legends #1 (1987) same comic series in the previous picture. Very excited to see where My Adventures with Superman goes with this cuz you don't see Superman interact with Deathstroke or Suicide Squad all the often.

So looks like one of the Oceangate subcontractors is already trying to change the narrative of the massive amounts of oversight and safety issues on the sub.

“It seems kind of cheesy, but if you knew the amount of technology that was packed in that controller and its capabilities, and the amount of money that it costs to develop something like that, it's just off the charts,” he said.

Completely ignoring the fact that the CEO had a investors buy into the project and his own net worth in the multi millions. One of these investors is B Dash Ventures which will typically invest 1.5 million into a project.

The most egregious quote from Doug "DJ" Virnig to me is the following:

Virnig said Titan’s pressure hull had passed tests at the non-profit Woods Hole Institute, which subjected it to the pressure found at the depth of the Titanic wreck — but the question was how it would perform over time.

“Well, if you do that repeatedly, then what happens?” he said.

“So these are the sorts of questions that if you have a long research and development program, you start answering. But if you really are pushing the envelope, there's no time to — you're answering those questions in real time.”

This isn't some new unexplored scientific venture where WE JUST DIDNT KNOW THE DANGER UWU. Oceangate was warned multiple times about the danger of their craft, they willfully ignored it and fired employees who brought it up. Titan was offered to undergo a voluntary safety inspection and REFUSED. Even though the team who offered told them a safety incident would not only affect Oceangate but the industry and research as a whole.

Trying to reframe these fuckers as brave innovators who just wanted to learn and not the blatant ego fueled hubris project it was is so scummy. They didn't want to learn they refused knowledge at every turn.

Don't be shocked to see this narrative repeated either, the media isn't stupid they have powerful investors, they've seen the public reaction to this and they are trying to protect their own assets and values.

DJ Virnig is probably just trying to protect his own ass as his work on oceangate is posted all over his linkedin but shame on the journalists who do not push back in the slightest on this.

You and a few cheerleaders got to the Nissan Stadium in Nashville a few hours early before the game started between the Chiefs and the Titans.

You were always an early bird when it came to the important things. Like cheering for the team you have always been a fan of. Thank your dad for moving to Kansas City when you were ten.

You and the girls were practicing the cheers that y’all was doing for today's game in a few hours. Y’all been at it for at least a good hour. When you finally think it time for a good break.

“Okay girls, y’all can keep at it but I need a good few minutes break.” They all nod at you as you walk off to grab your bottle of water.

While taking a sip of your water you notice one the player was sitting on the other side of the field listening to music and watching the cheerleaders doing their thing.

When you look at the person well, you realize it was Patrick Mahomes. He was almost like you. An early bird when it comes to important things. And for him. Every game is important.

You look over at the girls before looking back at him. Finally you think “Might as well, me and him never really talk.” After you walk over to him.

It didn’t take him long before he noticed you walking to him. He smiled at you and nodded his head. Gosh does he have to have the perfect smile.

When you got in front of him, he pulls his headphones on his neck. “Hello Miss Sunshine. Why are you here at almost nine in the morning!” You only roll your eyes.

You say next to him. “You know Mahomes, I could ask you the same question.” He chucked. “Please call me Patrick, we are not strangers.” The time he does speak to you, he is always nice and for some reason he doesn't like us calling him by his last name.

You look down and see his phone in his hands. You point at it. “What are you listening to?” He looks down at it before looking at you. “Come find out.”

He moves close to you and puts his headphones on your head. You look over at him. As he pressed the play button. And the song that was playing was My Moment by DJ Drama.

You let out a giggle as he smiled. You remember him saying once during an interview what songs he listened to before a game and this one was one of them he said.

You pull the headphones off and set them on your lap. “Is this a song that gets you pumped up before a game?” He locked his phone. “It is one of them, I have a few but this one I always come back to. What about you Sunshine?”

You think for a few minutes before shrugging. To be honest I don’t really know. Most of the time , a random song comes on and I just listen to that before we go out and cheer.”

Before any of y’all could say someone one the girls come over. “Y/n break time is over. We need to get this right before the game.” You only nod as she walks away.

He looks at her before looking at you. “I guess that it's time to go back and work huh.” You move his headphones and get up. “Sadly yes, you are not the only one who works hard Mahomes.”

After you walk off you hear him yell. “Call me Patrick!!” You let a giggle out before jogging over to the girls. The rest of practice you noticed someone was watching and you knew it was him.

Imagine that the human is happy, and wants to give a hug, but that at the moment of giving the hug the "face" of Camron, DJ, Vee ends up between her breasts. How would they react to this?

It is possible to obtain a version of this same ask, but this time with the Matriarchs, Dark Speakerman, Plunger Cameraman and Brown Cameraman?

Camron would immediately start to overheat and become wobbly in the knees once he's buried in the soft mounds of the human's chest. He falls down once the human releases him. DJ's speaker flairs to life out of his control, playing all sorts of naughty-sounding songs, such as "careless whisper", before he mutes himself and accepts his fate. Vee is beyond surprised, especially now that his screen is taken up with...lecherous visuals. He teleports away before he even realizes and tries to calm down and regather his thoughts. No need to loose control now...calm yourself soldier. It was just a hug. Survei would find the human's happiness infectious and would hug back, trying her best to ignore the...softness pressing into her head. Despite her trying to maintain a professional atmosphere...her wiggling ear pieces give away her true feelings. The Speaker Siblings would each react differently. The sister, while tall, is surprised by the human's sudden hug and happiness. To which, she freezes and gets unintentionally smothered by the human's inbuilt pillows. The brother, however, jumps the moment he's buried in the human's chest, before pushing them away...albeit not as forcefully as he could. At least ONE of the siblings has to maintain their professionalism. The TV woman's head would have been detached from her body when the hug happens. The human just gets a little ahead of themselves during a victory and the next thing she knew, all she could see was squishy flesh. The human is quick to realize their overstepping though, and they release her head with an apologetic spew. It didn't bother her much...it was...nice. Plungerman would have been glomped by the human the moment he gets fixed up after the titan speakerman incident. They were just so happy that he was okay...and the next thing he knew, there was sudden warm softness all around his head. The saddest part? It didn't last that long...much to his contained disappointment. The Brown Cameraman would probably encounter his during his retrieval from the said battlefield. The human, ever abiding by their "no man left behind" policy came looking for him in the rubble. They find his half body there and that's when it happens. They grapple him...and he's immediately blinded by warmth, softness, and...something aromatic? He barely struggles as the human strains to pull him out of the rubble and succeeds, holding him close to their chest as the rescue team arrives for the pair. He might as well have died...cause this is everything he could ever want.

What does everyone do in the their free time? and what is the human's opinion on the Titans?

Most of my alliance friends usually go out with me on the field of battle. Cameron and DJ are both infantry, like me. V is special ops and usually works with his own faction to perform pinch maneuvers and recover fallen or cornered allies. Camron and DJ are awesome on the battlefield and on my team, we look out for one another while we're deployed. While at base, we help around to get other units ready for deployment, like moving ammunition, loading up weapons, fixing vehicles, carrying injured units to the medical bay and so much more. I spend lots of time around these guys, believe it or not! . Veteran not only works on the field mowing down skibidis, he is also a great trainer and office worker. He keeps tabs on who is able to fight, who was injured, and who was offlined in combat. It's not just him, as he's part of the elder groups that look after the newer units. He also sends all that info back to Doc, who relays the message to other factions. As a result, he and Doc are close both in work and in off schedule interactions. In all honesty, he needs a vacation... . Buddy is chief of our large camera mimic population here in the mimic faction. He governs, looks after all the camera mimics, and helps keep tabs on the pups. He's both kind and firm to his pack mates, including his adopted son--Byte. When he's on the field serving with me, he's my personal guardian and he can rip a skibidi apart that's much bigger than him. I think it's a way he can vent his frustrations out without taking it out on his pack, which is great! . Pal visits sanctuary at least once a week to check in on how his friends and parents are doing. He's also a great spotter and sky support in the field. He can knock skibidis out of the air and his sound blast can level a whole city block! I once witnessed the post-damage in a once skibidi-controlled sector in the city...you'd think the place was hit by a bomb! Pal is our strongest unit, but he's also the sweetest and gentlest soul I know! He loves his adopted daughter Melody and he's known to knit, cook, and grow plants as his hobbies. . Fiend is quite aloof in the base and usually spends most of his time in his den that consists of "borrowed" pillows and soft coverings. However, he has made it his personal mission to harass V every time he's visiting the base now. I really wish Fiend would learn to behave sometimes and focus on thing's he's good at, like his art! He's a very skilled painter and artist! When he serves on the field with the division, his abilities can turn a whole pack of skibidis on themselves! It's so odd to watch skibidis kill other skibidis out of the blue like that, but it seems to make Fiend happy when he does so. At least he's on our side, right? Regardless of his sadistic side, I've seen his soft side too. He can lie all he wants, but I know I caught him reading to his adopted child--Menace--"The hungry caterpillar"!

SpaceTime is Australia’s most popular and respected astronomy and space science news program – averaging over two million downloads every year. We’re also number five in the United States. The show reports on the latest stories and discoveries making news in astronomy, space flight, and science. SpaceTime features weekly interviews with leading Australian scientists about their research. The show began life in 1995 as ‘StarStuff’ on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation’s (ABC) NewsRadio network. Award winning investigative reporter Stuart Gary created the program during more than fifteen years as NewsRadio’s evening anchor and Science Editor. Gary’s always loved science. He studied astronomy at university and was invited to undertake a PHD in astrophysics, but instead focused on his career in journalism and radio broadcasting. He worked as an announcer and music DJ in commercial radio, before becoming a journalist and eventually joining ABC News and Current Affairs. Later, Gary became part of the team that set up ABC NewsRadio and was one of its first presenters. When asked to put his science background to use, Gary developed StarStuff which he wrote, produced and hosted, consistently achieving 9 per cent of the national Australian radio audience based on the ABC’s Nielsen ratings survey figures for the five major Australian metro markets: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth. Sophia Evangelista | Angeknight

Angeknight: Between Heaven and Hell - Sophia's debut series that follows her and her team the Sun Angels on their mission to destroy the Fallen Angel Ophiel and her legion of darkness.

Pandora - Major supporting character. Elyon is both Sophia's ward and sidekick before being handed off to the newest Teen Titans.

Sol - Sophia is also a major supporting character in Solana's solo series as her mentor.

Angeknight: Schism - The longest series of Sophia's publication history at over 100 volumes long. Schism follows Sophia having to deal with splitting factions of Angels in Heaven, major changes in her work and personal lives, and learning secrets about her family.

Angeknight: Reformation - As Titans Academy's new guidance counselor, Sophia works hard to push the rowdy children in the right direction. However, she must answer Heaven's call again after receiving a disturbing vision.

Angeknight & Cheshire - A oneshot comic that follows Sophia and Jade tracking down the person who put a hit out on both of them. It takes place shortly after Reformation.

Snow & Arrowette - Mini series that follows Daliah and her childhood friend Cissie as a duo; before either of them joined Young Justice. A highlight of this miniseries is the family reunion from hell and the introduction of the Yukimura clan.

Snow & Crysticle - Another miniseries featuring Camryn, Daliah's older sister and member of the Watchers. Camryn has returned home for the summer which means sisterly fun and crime fighting.

Jawbreakers - Now in college and on her way to becoming a professional figure skater, Daliah moves to San Francisco with Solana as roommates. She puts her superhero career to the side to keep up her training. Eventually, she joins the newly formed Jawbreakers.

Las Vegas Raiders

Raiders fire Josh McDaniels after starting 2-10 and losing to the Chiefs Week 12 in Las Vegas, and promote defensive coordinator Patrick Graham to be their interim head coach.

Patrick Graham will finish the season with a record of 2-3, leaving the Raiders with a final record of 4-13.

The Raiders will fire general Manager Dave Ziegler, interim coach Patrick Graham, and a majority of the rest of McDaniels' staff after the regular season is completed.

Tennessee Titans

Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill gets injured early in the season, and the Titans allow scond-year QB Malik Willis and rookie Will Levis to struggle for the starting spot before Levis wins it outright after during Tennessee's bye week in Week 7.

Levis then manages to lead the Titans to an 8-3 record from the bye week on, putting up Rookie of the Year-worthy numbers... if he had started the full season.

The Titans still manage to fall in the Wildcard Round to a tough Browns team, but this year still cements Levis as the starting quarterback going into 2024, with Tannehill likely to be moved by the front office in the offseason.

Washington Commanders

Ron Rivera is fired after a Week 16 loss to the Jets, finishing his season in Washington with a record of 4-11. Assistant head coach and Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is promoted to be the interim head coach.

Bieniemy then coaches the Commanders to a 2-0 record in the final games, and after the season, his interim tag is dropped in order to make Eric Bieniemy the full-time head coach of the Washington Commanders in 2024.

Aside

Originally, I had afew wonkier predictions, namely the Cardinals and Colts trading their respective picks to quarterback-needy teams so those unnamed teams could select one of USC QB Caleb Williams or UNC QB Drake Maye.

My only reservation was that by the time October comes around, we're gonna have seen a much better sample size of football in 2023, so I'm certain I'll have opinions on it. I'd just like to save some for the wilder stuff for when there's a clearer picture to expand upon.

Ideally, I'd like to do one of these at the end of every month of the season, so we'll see how that goes.

End of the way, I wanted to put something out to reign in the new year, and I hope you're along for the ride.

Currently watching: Due South. @aquadestinyswriting lent me the DVDs as Modern AU inspo for my Fighting Fantasy World of Titan writing. There's been some excellent angst and heart-stopping moments, but mostly I'm just hit with how 90s it all is 😅️

Currently reading: The Corset by Laura Purcell. It's a historical fiction about dressmaking and murder in the 1900s. Very different to my normal faire but very enjoyable.

Currently obsessed with: Building in Starbound. I've got a sudden second wind on a massive project I've been building. Probably because I'm avoiding writing Her Countenance was Light 😅️

Favourite colour: I watched Les Mis the other day, and I've had the songs stuck in my head since, so I'm going to say Red, the blood of angry men/ Red, world about to dawn!

Trollstopia season 7 thoughts!

⚠️Spoilers⚠️

I ADORED THIS SEASON!!!!! PERFECT ENDIND TO THE SERIES WE LOVE AND ADORE💖💜💙💚💛🧡❤️!!!!!

Can I just say I loved the epic score and narration Lownote and the Classicals did😄! And Barb called classical boring😂! But we really do all just need a quiet moment to just chill. I’m honestly note surprised that classical barely, if not ever learned to walk. Honestly their limbs are so small anyway flying has probably always been the best way to get around. Minuet is sooo understanding! She didn’t even got upset, she’s the best💛!

Man my OC Vesper the Shapeshifter would’ve been the perfect apprentice for Cloud Guy! Total prankster she is, very mischievous! And her shapeshifting would give her a mess with advantage. All the trolls’ prank attempts were adorable😊😅! Synth, Dante We’ve seen trolls do actual pranks plenty of times. They have an entire holiday dedicated to it! Guess they’re too soft hearted. Kinda figured Cloud Guy wouldn’t actually have gone. Messing with Branch is his calling. Ya never know what you have until it’s gone Val. Perhaps the only way for her to truly appreciate Demo was simply to let him go for that time. I think he needed it too, learned not to be too smothering. And Dante gets an excellent manager in Lagoona. Although in her very focused natured she seemed almost in a bad mood.

Synth and Poppy are so considerate💖💜! I did agree with them. Without proper rest you get thing properly and you’ll slip up a bunch! Practice doesn’t always make perfect. Usually I hate vampire stories. But this style was much more acceptable! Ironic Guy would grow a liking for wearing clothes, given that the last time he did he ripped them off and said “naked for life!”. I’m very surprised the bats didn’t look anything like Debbie. Once again an episode I could easily see Dub Skull in, he’d love it🖤💚!

Still don’t like Pushy Poppy, the way she talks still great annoys me. But HA! The greatest victories have no battles! The best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend! Or at least in this case friends with each other. They’ll be so busy being friends they won’t have time to be evil and conquer Trollstopia! I love it! Friendship wins the day again! I loved the team up of Synth, Demo, and DJ! I kinda figured just by looking at the critters they were called rockoons (maybe that’s what we should call galarian zigzagoons😂!). What do you mean you’re not the lead type Synth? You lead the techno trolls of Trollstopia in Trollex’s stead! Lastly Poppy I appreciate your patience and confidence but those three aren’t the most perspective and likely to catch on.

Who hasn’t in their childhood built a blanket fort? Who hasn’t blown bubbles in their milk, or put olives on their fingers? I pity those who haven’t. If Tiny need blankets, I have plenty to go around! Most are trolls😅😂! And besides my bed one I don’t use them often anyway. I seriously hope the coming generation don’t turn out like R&B in the pancake episode. Instead of letting the modern tech we have do everything ALL the time. Sometimes knowing the old fashion way is important. In the event we don’t have the tech.

There’s a reason people still like sad stories. Sure they’re sad, and no one likes being sad. But they can be relatable, and heart softening. We all need a moment to cry, helps us be more understanding and sensitive. That’s why I like the Titanic, a Dog’s Journey, or Hachiko. They’re sad but we learn from them. Serving the community is important Val. If the rock trolls love and respect you, of course they’ll understand it! Even if it’s something silly. Besides you’re trolls, you’re already naturally silly.

Val really has come a long way, I’m so proud of her growth! Doing so much ACTUAL hard work all for her friends😍! They know how easygoing she is and how she’s changed, also she wasn’t blind to how awful that cabin was. They can always think of other girls trips together. One awesome one and hopefully more to come for them! OMG MY HEART WAS BEATING SO FAST FREAKING OUT SEEING THE TECHTACULAR KING TROLLEX!!!!! Makes sense out of all the leaders he’d be the first to expand the Trollstopian culture exchanging way of life. Besides Poppy he feels the most open of the leaders. The fact that HE is also a big fan of Trollstopia😍🤩! AND THEY PICKED WHO I WAS HOPING FOR LIKE A MONTH THEY’D PICK TO MOVE WITH HIM! YEAH, DJ Suki!!!!! I was afraid Poppy was comprising the selection. I understand she doesn’t want to say goodbye to anyone. But they shouldn’t keep the joys of Trollstopia all too themselves. Imagine one day all the different living together in all the other tribes homes! Trollex is just the one to make the next step. At first I was so excited and overjoyed DJ got selected. But then seeing her go, the sadness of saying bye to her set in😔. Them all saying goodbye to her for a whole year, the fact they went totally heavy on the feels too, I got emotional! I hope we (the fans) actually get to see her again. Val had a point all the other tribes they had to say goodbye to when they moved there. It was the Pop trolls who didn’t move away from anything. Which made Suki an even greater selection. Just as the other tribes shared apart of their communities, the trolly thing to do is for Pop to do the same for them. Seeing Suki leave with Trollex by the way strengthened my ship for them TEN FOLD!!! Now them living in the same place for a time could increase the chances of it actually happening even more! DO IT DREAMWORKS!!!!! Too bad Anthony Ramos couldn’t come back. He’s probably busy getting ready for Ironheart and Beast Wars. But the substitute of named Anthony also😂! I feel like Suki leaving to live with Trollex in Techno Reef should give a lot of plot relevance for the 3rd movie. I mean both her a Trollex are criminally under spotlighted and they’ll initiate the geater scale inter-tribal growth. If that and they are ignored in Trolls 3 I will be GREATLY UPSET! In tears for the ending I of course sung along with all the trolls, the Trollstopia theme song😭. TROLLSTOPIA FOREVER💖❤️🧡💛💚💙💜!!!!!
