the thing with teru is that for the longest time he struggles to see everyone as on the same playing field.
when he’s introduced he thinks that he’s at the top of the societal pyramid because of his powers. he thinks that mob is merely a threat he has to teach his place and it takes the best part of their fight for teru to reassess that and acknowledge that mob is a rival, but one that he is still above in this world.
when mob collapses and ???% beats him, teru realises that he is insignificant in the wider scheme of things and at the same time he ends up putting mob on a pedestal. teru believes he is insignificant because there’s a much larger power that he must bow to. he puts mob above him, an average person.
and teru sticks to that, with the admiration, the devotion where mob is essentially the new guide by which he tries to live his life up until the divine tree arc. dimple then forces teru to see him as his god instead. and that in of itself highlights the fact that teru’s devotion (whether to himself or mob or dimple) is essentially like worshipping a deity. that’s the kind of gap he sees between “average” people and those he places above them. mob breaks teru from dimple’s control and teru snaps mob back on his pedestal (’you really are amazing’). teru may have worked on himself but he still hasn’t broken from his framework that there are average people and those above them.
fast forward to his second confrontation with ???% and teru’s using his mob-guide to try and preach back to ???%. but he’s still putting mob above him, still thinks mob is untouchable and wouldn’t fail where ‘average’ people would. and then ???% deliberately puts on a show of strength that puts people in danger, he uses his powers against teru despite having previously refused to do so to the point of collapse. and it’s a real pedestal-breaking moment for teru. he thought that mob was such a moral person that he designed his whole new belief system around him. but the person at the centre of this belief system wasn’t the whole truth. that mob was just as much a false god as dimple and teru himself.
still, the philosophy is sound and teru did change for the better as a result. the pedestal and framework is broken, but that’s not a bad thing. any pedestal that high must eventually collapse.

okay I've finished making my big spreadsheet of how mp100 characters refer to each other! some thoughts on this under the cut because it got long
the Kageyama brothers are very polite in how they refer to people. their parents must have really instilled etiquette into them bc no one else is as consistent about using polite honorifics/titles as they are. the only people Mob doesn't give an honorific/title are his brother and Dimple, and the only people Ritsu doesn't give an honorific are Dimple and Shou, who he just calls "Suzuki"
Reigen, on the other hand, is pretty inconsistent and casual with his use of honorifics. he says "Mob-kun" a couple times and "Ritsu-kun" once, but usually they're just Mob and Ritsu (or "Mob's brother" lmao). the only honorific he consistently uses is "Tome-chan"
it's infrequent, but both Reigen and Dimple refer to Mob as "my boy" at some point :') he's their boy!
Ritsu doesn't refer to the Awakening Lab kids at all until he asks their names after being kidnapped lmao the only exception is when he calls out to the older Shiratori brother after the younger one is taken away and he calls him "Shiratori-kun." considering the fact that after asking their names, he refers to both of them as Daichi-kun and Kaito-kun, I think there was absolutely a moment when everyone was freaking out about the Shiratori brothers where he was like "ohhhhh that's his name"
also he switches from "Onigawara-san" to "Onigawara-senpai" when he realizes he's friends with his brother lmao fakeass
even though Mob starts calling Teru "Hanazawa-kun" as soon as they exchange names, Teru doesn't give him the honorific until they decide to raid Claw together. I guess that's the point when he decides they're friendly enough for it? he calls Ritsu "brother-kun" as soon as he realizes they're related and never refers to him by his actual name
everyone calls Teru some variation on his nickname EXCEPT Mob and Dimple. Dimple actually only calls him "brat" and "that guy" for a while until he managed to track him down again during the alleyway incident, which I realized is because he was exorcised before learning Teru's name lskdjflkdsf from the Seventh Division arc onwards, he just calls him "Hanazawa"
I love that Dimple tries to refer to the brothers with cutesy nicknames and both of them are like "if you do that again I'm killing you all the way dead" and he's like "understood." and then refers to them by given name from then on lmao
Teru refers to Dimple as "Dimple-kun" and Tome calls him "Dimple-chan," both of which are SO funny to me because he's way older than them. rude as hell, this evil spirit deserves no respect
Shou doesn't use honorifics or titles for ANYONE. Ritsu is just Ritsu, the Ultimate 5 are all their last names, his dad is just Pops. he also exclusively refers to Mob as "Ritsu's brother" dkfjldskfj
Serizawa alternates between "Shigeo-kun" and "Kageyama-kun" with no real rhyme or reason to it. just seems to depend on his mood I guess

the thing is. you know Teru’s situation is fucked up. i know Teru’s situation is fucked up. any adult (Reigen) who knows even a fraction of what he has going on knows that Teru’s situation is fucked up.
Teru has no idea. He is so deep in denial that he genuinely and wholeheartedly believes that his life is fine. Great, even! He doesn’t understand why people get so weird when he tells his funny stories about taking down terrorist cells and de facto child abandonment. He’s doing fantastic! Sure, maybe other people would have “complexes” and “trauma” if they hadn’t seen their parents since age nine, but not him.
And this is why Reigen is the only adult equipped to help him! If anyone approaches him from the perspective that he is a traumatized abandoned child who needs help he would shut them down in .2 seconds and refuse to engage. If he felt like someone was pitying him his immediate reaction would be to light them on fire (he wouldn’t go through with it though. because he’s so humble and well-adjusted).
But Reigen can approach the problem sideways. He can pointedly complain about how it’s hard to buy food for one person, and can’t Teru take some of it off his hands so it doesn’t go bad? He can roll his eyes and go oh, of course, your school doesn’t believe that you’re mature enough to do this yourself, what idiots, let me just add myself as your emergency contact so they’ll get off your back. He can keep coming up with Very Important Very Real Jobs that absolutely require Teru’s help aren’t at all an flimsy excuse to make him have fun, no siree. He can talk about how even the most independent adults need help sometimes, so it isn’t a sign of immaturity or weakness if Teru asks for it (yes he is being hypocritical no he will not acknowledge it).
He’s a liar, so he can actually give Teru what he needs.

one of my favorite little things in mob psycho (and one of the reasons i think that, despite it being a relatively complete show, theres so much room for fan speculation and fanworks expanding on it) is all the little details of things that you see or get mentioned for a second for a gag and then never mentioned again because leaving it to the audience's imagination is way funnier than any elaboration ever could be. like for example, teru's movie being a fake horror movie called "flying dead pig" that exists solely on vhs and is apparently extremely hard to acquire. even though the actual contents of this movie are never explicitly shown (literally all we know about it is what i listed above) we can use those details along with teru's taste in general to conclude its probably one of the strangest cinematic experiences ever crafted. like, in my mind's eye this movie is like if that film about the serbian government through the eyes of a pigeon were real.

I have a lot of goofy mob psycho perfume headcanons, but one of my favorites is that Reigen wears Bath and Body Works Champagne Toast but is ashamed of it.
Tumblr media
Champagne toast is a juvenile, fun scent that smells like hyper-sweet champagne and peach. Reigen LOVES this scent but he HATES that he loves it because even though he’s crazy about sweet femme scents, he doesn’t want people to know that he wears a cheap scent designed for tween girls.
So when people ask what scent he’s wearing, Reigen lies and says “Nautica Voyage for Men” Reigen shamefully keeps champagne toast stashed in a locked drawer in his desk. It’s his secret.
It’s his secret to everyone except Teru.
See, the thing about Teruki Hanazawa is that he has an amazing nose. He knows the name of a fragrance just by smelling it. And Teru ADORES bath and body works. He collects it. So Teru smells Reigen and immediately knows reigen is wearing champagne toast.
Their interaction goes like this:
Teru (who proudly wears scents designed for tween girls) I never knew you liked champagne toast, Reigen-san!!! We should talk bath and body works sometime!! I’m somewhat of a collector myself. I’m actually wearing the tutti dolci collection right now!
Reigen *visibly sweating*: dunno…dunno what you’re talking about. I’ve never been to bath and body works in my life. The only scent I wear is nautica voyage for Men
Teru *squinting* You don’t smell like nautica voyage. You smell like champagne toast.
Reigen: I guess your smeller is off.
Teru *visibly distressed at reigen gaslighting him at the tender age of 14*
Later, for Christmas, Reigen unwraps his present from Teru. It’s an unboxed bottle of nautica voyage for men.
Teru: go ahead, spray it!
Reigen starts sweating. He’s been caught in a lie—now everyone will smell the ACTUAL nautica voyage for men, and know that Reigen smells nothing like that, thus proving that Reigen has been lying the whole time about what fragrance he’s wearing.
People will discover he’s a fraud. A fraud who wears champagne toast.
Unable to think of an excuse, Reigen sprays the bottle of nautica voyage for men.
It smells exactly like champagne toast.
It smells like champagne toast because it IS champagne toast. Teru had bought a bottle of nautica voyage for men, emptied it, refilled it with champagne toast, and gifted it to reigen. The reason? He wants Reigen to be able to keep his perfume on his desk, to spray champagne toast without feeling ashamed.
Tears come to Reigen’s eyes. Teru knows Reigen’s a fraud. At least when it comes to the fragrances he wears. But Teru doesn’t care!! In fact, he’s HELPING Reigen lie by gifting him champagne toast disguised as nautica voyage. The idea that the kids see him—the real him, the liar—and accepts him anyway, is almost too much for reigen to take.
But Reigen keeps going. Like he always does. He says thank you to Teru. Gives him a hug. He sprays champagne toast, and is proud.

Kou never mistakes Hanako for a human, and I find that interesting.
He heard about Amane from Nene, who had front roll seats to his past and gained an intimate wake up call that "Hanako is not a 'magic being' from a fantasy book, he was a student, who is now dead"
His death is not a conflict for Kou though, is just who he is. He is well aware the ghost is dead, so what Nene shares isn't a revelation, is just small pieces of the puzzle that is Hanako: the understanding he used to study here.
Tumblr media
Kou has no real link to Amane, he never met the guy. Even when explicitly talking about Amane, Kou has no mental image of this 13-year-old who killed his own brother, he can only picture Hanako, the ghost.
Tumblr media
Kou doesn't interact with 'Amane' in Picture Perfect either, the very few interactions they have are super short, and always started by Hanako in his Amane disguise.
Tumblr media
The one time Kou approaches him is because 'Amane' was carrying an unconscious Nene, so he gets curious, and shows that he doesn't trust him.
Tumblr media
But when he learns it's Hanako, he is delighted. It doesn't matter that Mitsuba is acting weird, and that he still didn't get any answers, cause is Hanako! Hanako his buddy!
Tumblr media
He never had a wish for Hanako to be alive, to be his classmate, so he doesn't feel any desperate attachment to the idea of 'Yugi Amane' like he did with the idea of 'Mitsuba Sousuke' only ever seeing him as a wrong version of Hanako from the start. Is not real, so of course he doesn't trust him.
His view of Hanako cannot be separated from him being a ghost.
Hanako is the one who properly introduced Kou to the world of supernaturals and served as an informant on the Far Shore when Teru kept him in the dark. He teaches Kou about rumors, boundaries, supernatural festivals, and introduces him to the complex feelings some of the dead may have about lingering on the Near Shore.
There are two main mentalities Kou has when it comes to Hanako, the first is 'I don't know enough about Hanako to tell if he is a threat, he is so weird, I want to learn about him' The second is 'he helps me and Nene. He looks after us, he is our friend.' and usually he focuses on the second.
Tumblr media
But the "i need to gauge if he is a threat" mentality is just as important as his attachment to Hanako.
Tumblr media
It's what makes him keep an eye on him and occasionally act like a judge, trying to figure out what is going on with him, which is a hard task.
Hanako does a lot of good and bad things to Kou.
He sealed his exorcist staff, which debilitates him through basically the whole manga, but he helps and saves him and Nene when called, he lies and is selfish, but he seems to only lie for silly things or what Hanako seems to believe is the greater good (the tears eye drops, Nene's lifespan). He seems guilty and burdened by his murder but he did murder someone. He is important to Nene, he is important to Kou, and so on.
Is too much to keep track of. Too hard to give a judgment.
So he focus on his feelings way more than logic, and he is very inclined to have a positive view of Hanako. He wants Hanako to be good. To be a friend.
He does notice his slimy behavior and he does change his perception of Hanako, slowly understanding him better and growing more wary of what he says, more careful when trying to read him.
Tumblr media
But his doubts aren't nearly as heavy as his hopes for Hanako: He believes he wants the best for them.
If we go back to the scene where Nene is talking about Amane, there is something she says that sticks with Kou, something that immediately catches his attention "Maybe I shouldn't be his friend"
Tumblr media
Unlike his death, this is a conflict Kou relates to.
He is making donuts for Hanako as they speak, absorbing everything he learns about the guy and using the information to help Hanako because he wants to cheer up Hanako.
Hanako being important to Nene is important to Kou. They are a group to him, and he isn't alone in his uncertainty.
Tumblr media
Kou keep this mentality of just doing what he wants for a while, childish as it is, but slowly, he is forced to give Hanako more thought, to take him seriously.
His view on Hanako has been tipping to the negative recently. He always knew about Hanako being strange and full of secrets but he can't dismiss it anymore, since the ghost started lying about big things, like trapping Nene in a fake world and exchanging Aoi's lifespan for hers without Nene's consent. Is not like his usual avoidance and silly lies, he is getting harmful.
Hanako gave Kou plenty of glimpses into his more 'inhuman' mentality. He has shown Kou a lot of hints that pratically scream "Stop trusting me kid."
It piles up.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It becomes harder to know what is a lie. What isn't. What is okay and what shouldn't be forgiven.
Kou keeps trying to understand him and give him the benefit of the doubt , he truly doesn't want to believe Hanako is just an 'evil spirit' after everything they've been through. He is a supernatural but he is his teacher and friend too, that got to mean something.
Tumblr media
But he doesn't have a clear answer. He can think as hard as he want, he still has no idea what is going on inside Hanako's head, he just wants to believe is something for Nene's sake. Because even if he isn't sure what Hanako thinks of him, he wants to believe he wants Nene to be happy, that his care for her is strong and genuine.
Besides the conflict between "he is an apparition, he is a friend" There is also the way Kou is dependent on Hanako.
Hanako is extremely helpful, he gives him all the answers related to supernaturals. Even when Kou didn't trust Hanako, the ghost already took the role of 'the guide' in the group, offering Kou something he always wanted: Information on supernaturals. A ticket to be part of a world Kou had always wanted to be part of, but his brother had sheltered him from.
Tumblr media
Kou always goes to Hanako when he is in trouble. Regardless of how shady he acts, Hanako always helps.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
So when he tells Kou he is incompetent, it gives him a wake up call.
Tumblr media
Kou always had an inferiority complex, but this puts into perspective how he relies a lot on Hanako. He doesn't solve anything by himself, he either follows Hanako's lead, or faces a dead end.
Kou has a lot to think about after that. He doesn't want to keep relying on Hanako, he wants to take action himself, to be something that doesn't follow Hanako or Teru's lead.
He focuses mostly on Mitsuba, convinced the supernatural needs him, but also goes back to the promise he made with Teru.
Tumblr media
This 'what do you want to do?' moment gives insight into a lot of relationships, but I'll only focus on what it says about Kou's view of Hanako here.
Kou is usually very sweet with Nene, but he is direct to the point of being cold here, he calls Hanako "The evil spirit of a murderer" as he had when he first met him all the way back in chap 3, It feels like an ultimatum. A judgment.
Hanako is dangerous, he needs to exorcise him. Part of him wants to exorcise Hanako. But he doesn't want to exorcise his teacher, his friend.
This brings me to his wish on the Red House.
Tumblr media
Before talking about his wish I want to point out what his wish isn’t: Kou doesn’t want Hanako’s help, advise or support. He doesn’t want Hanako to give up on trying to help nene either, so he is still depends on Hanako's actions to save Nene to some extent, he doesn't believe he can do it himself, nor does he want the pressure of being believed.
He wants Hanako to be a problem that’s easy to deal with, an evil spirit that’s undeniably evil.
Things would be much easier if Kou could exorcise him: It would prove it to himself, teru, and Hanako that he can be an exorcist, it would eliminate any possible anxiety about what Hanako will do next, and it would give Hanako what he wants, Kou wouldn't disappoint him again.
Tumblr media
When he pictures Hanako, he is happy and sweet looking, almost innocent. He may have decided he need to exorcise Hanako at some point, that is the right thing, but he doesn't really... want him gone.
He consistently has exorcism in mind when it comes to Hanako post-severance, but he also consistently pictures him happy and friendly. .
Tumblr media
"I want to be a bigger help" implies he wants to work with Hanako, so the two help Nene instead of him being the sole person in charge of her lifespan, which is a big big difference from his self-destructive desperation to be the one to help Mitsuba.
"I need to get to the point where I can exorcise him." As it is, Kou does not believe he can exorcise him. He realizes he should, but also that he can't.
What he says when he fights Teru fits into that.
Tumblr media
He doesn't agree with Hanako, and he denies the idea that he is doing this for Hanako, choosing to focus on his bond with Nene instead of his exorcism dilemma.
He and Nene have a simple camaraderie he can rely on, a mutual lack of understanding of what to do, but even this more 'safe' decision to be on her side instead of trying to keep discovering his own path got Kou the same reprimand Hanako had given him "You have big ideas but you can't back it up."
Tumblr media
Both of the people he looks up to give him guidance told him he is useless. He can not fully relate to exorcists, or supernaturals, the path he is carving for himself, his beliefs, are unclear, easily shaken, and likely useless.
He still wants to be an exorcist, deep down, delighted when Teru gave him a chance. But he can't be an exorcist. Not when he thinks so much about the supernatural, unable to reject them but unable to truly understand or relate to them either.
Tumblr media
It makes me sad that Aidairo pushed Kou and Hanako's situation aside, cause they still have a lot to explore, yet all we got recently is these crumbs:
Tumblr media
Kou is keeping his eyes on Hanako, his attitude half "I am your friend, I care about you", half "I don't trust you anymore, don't scheme again, bastard" but they don't have meaningful talks with each other anymore.
Hanako will save Kou if he sees him in danger, I'm sure. And Kou will do the same. But their trust is... shaky... and they will never talk about it. Kou won't share that he wants but can't exorcise Hanako and Hanako won't share how much he values Kou. They won't seek each other for help either. Both will slowly yet consistently focus on someone else instead, like a weirdly passive attempt at detachment.
So I have no hope for more meaningful interaction between them. Not anytime soon at least... Is truly a shame.

when you two had discussed your interests, particularly in the bedroom, you hadn’t expected your boyfriend to be so forward about what he wanted to do to you.
he’d always been vocal about wanting to please and make you feel good and he always took his time taking you apart.
it felt like he was never in a rush when the two of you were alone and in a way, it did feel like he had all the time in the world.
it could be argued that his favourite place in the whole world was between your legs but that was a conversation for another day.
right now he was pacing, in no rush to do anything but look at you. his soft bedsheets had never looked this good until he had you spread out on it.
the air around you is warm despite being completely naked against the soft cool sheets of his bed. his been watching you for what feels like hours though it’s only been about 5 minutes.
goosebumps rise all over your skin when he kisses your stomach, grinning before he places wet, opened mouth kisses down your stomach, towards your thighs.
his mouth is so cold and it makes you shiver. he places an ice block in the middle of your stomach without a warning and you moan, back arching off the bed.
“fuck” you gasp, “teru”
“it’s cold, isn’t it baby?” he smirks, sucking into your skin as he watches the ice melt. the room really was so hot and you knew he’d done that on purpose.
everything felt heightened and when he slid his fingers into your dripping wet pussy, the coldness only made you moan louder.
“that’s it” he encourages, “feels real good, doesn’t it?”
you nod, unable to form a real sentence when he places one of the ice blocks in his mouth, leaning down slowly as if to tease you before he’s sucking on your clit.
your scream is almost adorable and he wonders if he’s roommate heard that, hoping he was listening to how good he was making you feel.
“teru it’s too much” you cry out, trying to push his head away but his grip on you is tighter. he keeps you in place as he sucks on your clit, fingering you much slower than he usually does.
the coldness of his tongue and the extra wetness from the melting ice block makes a mess of you and his chin is shining when he looks up at you.
“pretty girl” he sighs, “just a little longer okay?”

MP100 Characters Ranked on How Likely I Think They Would Be To Use The Death Note:
(because I like combining my hyperfixations ✨)
Mogami. I don't think I have to explain this one.
Ritsu. He is going on a killing spree IMMEDIATELY the boy practically IS Light Yagami, his name is literally spelled with the kanji for justice and he already went on one power-hungry crusade, he is RIPE on the Kira tree og
Dimple. He already has the god complex down, he just has to get on board with the whole killing people thing—considering he's already an evil spirit, it wouldn't take much convincing tbh
Shou. He would cause SO much havoc with it but only for fun. For the meme. For the vine. He kills the Queen of England with it and cackles as he watches the ensuing flood of Megamind memes. He would also threaten his dad into compliance with it because the Death Note isn't Battle Based, it's Instadeath. "Ever go on TV and embarrass me like that again and you're going out by dysentery."
Takenaka. He's not a bad kid, but being telepathic would make him incredibly susceptible to wanting to take bad people out before they did anything wrong. Plus just getting them to shut up. That idiot that keeps having vivid erotic fantasy in the middle of science class has ONE more again before Takenaka would embrace his villain arc whole-heartedly. The only reason he's this far down is because I think he'd hesitate.
Tsubomi. I think she'd kill someone just to see if she could get away with it. Then she'd put it away and only bring it out when certain situations arose that needed a Quick Solution™. That girl knows what needs to be done and she does it—she decisive. Anything like Suzuki happens again and she just drops them dead on live television Lind L. Tailor style and then goes on about her day like nothing happened. All heroes wear pretty hair clips 🙏
Tome. I don't know how to explain this one. Vibes. She feels like she'd be gripped by the powerful urge to kill someone but it would take her a lot to go through with actually writing someone's name down. She'd want to test the Death Note first to see if it worked, so that's one person down, but anyone else would need to have either hurt her or her friends irreversibly, and even then it would probably be a one time thing. She'd use it far less than Tsubomi—two people might actually be her max.
Serizawa. I hc that people with psychic powers can see the Death Note's bad jujus or whatever, so he wouldn't have to test it to know it would work, but I still think he'd use it. If he found it while he was still with Claw, he'd use it because it was easier to kill someone that way than with his psychic powers. Even if it he found it after Claw, it'd be the same reasoning. He's definitely killed people in the past and if someone hurt his friends or his mother he'd very much take the easy out of simply writing down a name rather than going for a fight. He'd still feel really bad about it though, so it'd probably only happen once.
Minori. She uses it to see if it's real, finds that it very much is, and then locks it away in her room. She won't use it, but it'll be a constant thought in her mind. A very real temptation.
Emi. She uses it once out of curiosity to see if it's real, then buries it in the woods where no one will ever find it...but she can go back for it if she ever needs it.
Hanazawa. He's reformed but his temper is still something to behold. He's only this far down the list because he's got that "I could kill you with my powers why would I need a book to do it for me" swag ✨
Shimazaki. Similar to Teru but less reformed. "I would just kill you with my powers why would I need a notebook" two electric boogaloo. Plus he's blind and idk if the Death Note takes braille or morse code.
Toichiro. The ULTIMATE "I'll just kill you with my powers I don't fucking need that thing"
Shinra. He wouldn't use it, but he'd absolutely make the mistake of picking it up and handing it over to someone that WOULD use it (cough rising sun psychic division cOugh)
Onigawara. Talks big shit about using it, but would never. Likes to think he COULD use it though, even though he's too upright for it.
Reigen. Picks it up out of curiosity and gets a laugh out of it, but doesn't test it. He's seen enough shit to be cautious though, so he has Mob look it over and then burns it once Mob confirms it's got bad vibes.
Mob. Sees bad vibes. Doesn't even pick it up. Blasts it into ash and goes home without thinking about it again. Buys milk on the way there.

casually v v indulgent question but what ffxiv jobs do you think the mp100+brba/bcs characters would have and why
genuinely hilarious that you’d come to me for this. because i drew these back in like, february and never posted them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
^note the time stamp
now that i’m better versed i would specify that serizawa’s progression went pld-> drk. And also that teru being blu might be both funnier and more real
anyways my roommate and i had a dumb bit about mob being like the greatest black mage to ever live but wanting to learn white mage instead. reigen knows like. cure ii at best but that’s not going to stop him.
as for brbabcs my every past attempt to class them has slipped right through my fingers no matter how much i try to believe it’s just for the bit. mcwexler is a toxic tank/healer bunnygirl/normalguy couple though. kim would make an excellent paladin and this is why i firmly believe xiv NEEDS an evil-coded healer job so i can do stupid jokes like this. if he’s also whm like reigen though that’s hilarious. typecasting.
but here’s which characters would be catboys: jesse. lalo. and i guess by extension all the salamancas because that’s how genetics work.

hihi I'm starting to hyperfix on tbhk again and the lack of tbhk writers on here is criminally low :,)
sooo could you do teru minamoto x supernatural!reader but the reader is a type of supernatural that's like a vampire but not really like she needs blood and flesh to survive but she can like be in light. maybe she blends into the school to try to regain any type of humanity and teru notices and thinks shes gonna harm a student but when he confronts her she confesses that she just wants to fit in. So teru kinda just drags her around to make sure she doesn't go bonkers and it turns out she actually is nice and not malicious but still seems extremely weak from the lack of blood to maybe teru offers his arm to drink from and he realizes that not all supernaturals are bad
I'm tried while writing this so sorry if the plot seems to complicated or something
also I dont mind if its headcanons or a one shot whichever fits you're schedule <333
AN: FRRRR like the tbhk writers rn are doing amazingggg!!!!!! But there’s literally so few of them and idk if I would consider myself an active tbhk writer cus I’m so inconsistent with my works LMAO but I do have a lot of tbhk works so I guess I’m pretty good

It’s one thing that you’re a supernatural, but it’s another that you’re also a vampire which makes you an even more danger to other students
He watched you sneakily, hoping to catch you alone, but you’re always hanging around other people smiling and laughing that it makes him curious on what’s your motive. Are you getting close to these people so you can feed on them later? But he hesitates on that thought with how real your smile looks, as if you really do enjoy hanging around others and don’t want to feed on them
It’s hard to catch to you alone and is only able to find you alone when it’s the end of the school day, you looked at him worried and explain your situation on how you don’t want to feed on others and just want to be a normal student and how if he wanted, he can watch until he believes her
Teru doesn’t know why he decides to believe and trust you, he’s never hesitated like this. So the next day he never strays far away from you and it isn’t till a week later where he finally believes you but still wants to watch you just for the safety of others, which you agree with
Teru can’t help but want to smile whenever he sees you and even though he knows it’s wrong, it doesn’t take long until the both of you become a couple and he sees how tired you actually are and how you try to hide it but it only seems to get worse every day
He gets worried and without thinking offers his arm and neck for you bite on so you drink some of his blood. But even after he realizes what he said, he doesn’t go back on what he says and reassures you it’s okay and although your hesitant, you agree and at least once a week, Teru lets you feed on him a little and will ask if raw meat will work the same if he isn’t available
Although Teru thinks it feels weird and can’t help but blush whenever you bite him, it’s all worth it to see you better

I know you don’t think Light had personality disorders but I can’t stop thinking about this:
I know you don’t think Light had personality disorders but I can’t stop thinking about this:
People matching the diagnostic criteria for narcissistic personality disorder use black and white thinking, called splitting, as a central defense mechanism; they separate mental concepts into good versus evil, say, as an attempt to stabilize the sense of self in order to preserve self-esteem. Throughout the series Light certainly does show clear indications of perceiving himself as purely upright or admirable and others who do not conform to his will or values as purely wicked or contemptible.
Light has a grandiose sense of self-importance, viewing himself as special and unique (chosen to rid the world of evil), as someone who will become the God of the New World. Going on with this, he frequently indulges in fantasies of unlimited success and power (Godhood).
Light is extremely interpersonally exploitative: he takes advantage of people to achieve his own ends, and feels entitled to their admiration and compliance. Look at his relationships with Misa Amane, Kiyomi Takada, and Teru Mikami in particular: he enlists them to help him avoid capture and achieve his goals and leaves them when convenient for himself. He is floored with Mikami does not obey his instructions to the letter, and he actually calls out to Takada and Misa for help at the end, even though Takada is dead and he has effectively abandoned Misa.
You are thinking about Mikami. Light demonstrates an understanding of gradation time and time again throughout the series. His decisions to look down on people are not compulsive or out of his control. He's not splitting, he's just an ass.
Light literally does not think of himself as chosen, you are thinking about Mikami again.
Light's sense of self-importance is backed up by accomplishment and consistently echoed by everyone around him. Narcissism means inflated self-worth that runs COUNTER to factual reality - Light being accomplished and revered in his personal life is literaly just what is happening. He is not delusional about it. The godhood thing is a bit more complex and would fit your argument better, but like… is it fantasies if he's literally doing it? Like, a lot of these criteria are for real people to whom these things do not apply. They are criteria for distorted thought because they are not grounded in reality. Light is pretty firmly grounded in the reality he lives in, man.
Yeah, Light is an asshole. We know this.
Look, I know people are obsessed with mental health as this Deep Fascinating Topic, but at some point I am going to need you all to unpack why you absolutely need to believe that mental illness is the root cause of all violence in the world.
"Light cannot be evil without being mentally ill"? Come on.
The thing about mental illness is that the person suffering the most is the person afflicted by the illness. That is why it's an illness.
The fact of the matter is that Light is NOT actually struggling in any way to maintain his successful daily life before he gets a magical notebook. He is not functionally impaired.
The only reason people want to slam him with the personality disorder label is because they think personality disorders are scary.

Tumblr media
It's pretty normal to people not warming up to others when they first meet , giving them a calm and quite vibe of yourself before actually showing off the real you , though this could be seen as an hard task if we're talking about showing your personality to the prince of the school , Teru Minamoto.
You don't know exactly how and when he started to hang out with you more and more everyday , but this didn't help you to get out to your shell , how could you anyways : everyone sees him as the perfect boy in the whole school , a charming , kind and smart prince , everyone is lucly to have him around ; of course you agreed to them , that's why if you would show your trues self , you think that he wouldn't like you. You often joke with your friends , using irony and all , so you always think that he would prefer someone more calmer.
Months went by pretty fast , you and Teru got much closer from before. What you didn't know is that he always sees you talking to your friends , and your behaviour is different from what you act with him , he wonders if the change of personality its because you can't stand being with him and he's just forcing you to be with him
And obviously he will invite you to the students council room to talk about it , he really like you and doesn't want to make uncomfortable in any way being this close to you
It wasn't rare for him to invite you there when Akane isn't with him , just to talk with him and make his work more enjoyable ; he's always the one to talk but today you'll be the one to speak.
You knocked on the door and heard a " come in " from the boy ; you entered the room and found him with a pile of papers beside him as always. He looked up at you and smiled , that smile that could make your heart beat as fast as it could , making your head low down from the embarrassment , though Teru took it as a sign for you to not look at him. He began to talk
" [ Name ] , i was waiting for you ! Please take a seat on the sofà , i really want to talk to you about something " your stomach twisted at that sentence , it could've been anything , he wouldn't had to invite you to the council room if it was a good news so it had to be something bad " about what ? " you asked trying to not give in to the anxiety. He gets up from his chair and seats beside you " i've noticed the way you're around me and the way you act around your friends ; when you're with them you act more .. carefree. Is it because , you despise me [ name ] , you know .. i really like you , and i wouldn't mind you acting like yourself with me. But if you do really despise me , then i apologize for not getting it sooner "
You exploded after hearing those words , you would've never guessed Teru felt this way towards you , and you felt so dumb to let him think you despised him
What helped you return to the actual situaton was him squeezing your hands waiting for an answer " i never hated you Teru ... i really do like you too , its just that i thought you wouldn't like me for what i really am , and thinking about it now its sound really dumb " you both laughed at your comment.
It didn't take long for you two officially dating ; you still haven't warmed up to him totally but he's glad you can crack some jokes around him instead of nodding on what he's saying , he loves you and your personality , and he doesn't care how much will have to wait for you to warm up to him , he will do it , wait for you until you're ready

Ok, ok guys .... this is my interpretation of arc 1 (whatever it is?) mitsukou... heh...🤯🤯
Kou and Sousuke are two people that you'd think would be destined to meet, but are doomed to always pass each other by. The closest they'll ever get is glimpses at each other from different times, eye contact that's drawn out ever so slightly more than usual. Like they are meant to be separated.
Though Kou doesn't exactly remember him, Sousuke had always admired him. He was too much of a coward to be as loud and boisterous as Kou, the fear of his flaws holding him back. If there was one thing Sousuke hated, it was isolation. He never wanted it within his sights ever again. So he changed himself. Molded himself into the perfect, agreeable, quiet, well-behaved kid.
If he was perfect enough, people would like him, right?
In truth, he had simply stifled himself in the process of his change. A friend to all is a friend to none. He'd become so sterile that he was nothing more than a piece of scenery in the background, barely acknowledged as a person. And he was all alone again.
And then, his life was ripped away from him. It was abrupt and sudden, so quick that it was barely even painful. And just like that, he was dead. Before "Sousuke Mitsuba" could be polished into a person.
But he was still here. He was here. In a state of panic, he looked for someone, anyone, who could recognize him, see him. Then, he was bound to a rumor. And he met Kou for the second time. He's immediately paraded around by the boy, shoved and pushed like a sack of flour. It's clear that he doesn't remember him. Mitsuba has been so stressed that he spews all of his pent-up frustrations at Kou. He doesn't care about his flaws at the moment, not in the slightest.
On the other hand, Kou knows he has to take care of this ghost, as it's his duty to, being a Minamoto. But he doesn't want to exorcise him. He doesn't do that anymore. And in the back of his mind, something about this guy is familiar to him. So he settles for taking care of his unfinished business. After all, he wants to make Teru proud. He's a Minamoto exorcist, and he should make this spirit respect him like one!
Sousuke is surprised to find that he's having fun. He's free now, only in death. It feels like Kou sees him. He sees a person in Sousuke Mitsuba. It's the first time he's been recognized as real, as someone worth getting to know in years. For the first time in his existence, Sousuke feels like he can be himself completely around someone, with no fear of being too rude or brash. Kou will just always take him as he is.
Selfishly, he wishes to live. He wishes it with all his being. To live and stay friends with Kou, the one person who acknowledges him. He wants to keep a friend for once.
But he knows that he'll be gone soon. He's dead, and he can already feel himself getting lighter, like he may drift away at any moment. To him, Kou is a reason to stay, hut at the same time, a reminder that he must go. But he can't let Kou forget about him. The only person who knows who Sousuke Mitsuba might’ve been. So he takes the pictures, as a reminder to Kou, for when he's gone. Whatever you do, don't forget me.
Kou finds himself having a good time hanging out with Sousuke. He's always been wary of being friendly with spirits and supernaturals, and Hanako is just pushing what he'll allow. But Sousuke, it's almost like he's still alive. So Kou makes a promise to himself. I need to protect him until he can safely pass on. He's a Minamoto, after all. It's up to him to protect innocents from supernaturals.
Just when Sousuke is about to grasp peace, the freeness of absolute death, closure, it's ripped away from him. In his last moments, he can't even beg Kou to remember him as he was.
And all Kou can do is watch. He doesn't know what's wrong with him. He's a Minamoto! He's supposed to protect innocents from supernaturals! And he failed. He failed Sousuke. Kou couldn't protect him. He didn't get Sousuke to pass on. He couldn’t fulfill his friend's last wishes. Because of his failure, Sousuke would never get peace.
That night, he can't sleep. He looks over the photos Sousuke took. Gentle nature scenes that focus on the tiny bits of scenery in what would usually be the background. It had an attention to detail Kou hasn't seen before. And then - him. Kou. He observes it until his eyes sting, the image burned into his retina. Was that how he saw me? He wonders if the pictures are how Sousuke saw the world. They're beautiful. Kou wonders, if he lived, would he have become a famous photographer?
Sousuke is gone. He is gone. And Kou knows that. So, how is Sousuke right in front of him? Standing there like nothing happened? Like Kou's mistake had been washed clean. It clicks almost instantly for him. It's not Sousuke. It's not his Sousuke. But, whoever this is wears Sousuke's face.
If he tries hard enough, he can look at him and pretend everything is fine. That Kou didn't fail. That there's more pictures to be taken, more annoying quips to be made from his friend. There's almost an obligation to protect him, to fix his mistake. The biggest failure he's ever made in his life. He knows Sousuke hated being alone, so he'll protect this one. He won't fail him again.
Kou knows it's selfish. Desperately clinging to the pieces of a boy who is nothing more than a memory. It's not about Sousuke getting closure anymore. Kou needs to wash his tainted hands. He'll protect Mistuba with his life - for Sousuke.
It's difficult. Mitsuba doesn't know what it's like to be human, but he longs for it. He'd do anything to be human, and that's risky. Protecting someone who doesn't know who Sousuke Mitsuba is, and yet, he is him. He knows Kou, but he doesn't. He never will.
But if he can't do this, then Kou can't live with himself. He can't bear this guilt, knowing his friend was robbed from closure because of him.
Even though Mitsuba stands before him, he will always mourn the boy "Sousuke Mitsuba" was, and could've been.
